The Wolf of Wall Street - Really good. Hilarious. Was expecting to not really be into it too much but yeah it's great. Whole dinner scene with Matthew McConaughey and his chanting, the midget ethics meeting and the whole time he was high on the Lemmon pills were all some of the funniest things I've seen in ages.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 8/10
I liked it better than the first one. Felt more "balanced". Plus I liked the fact that they weren't all just going along with it. My main gripe about the series is how a lot of the male actors just look alike. Peeta, Gale, Finnick, and a bunch of the random male extras... all look very similar. Always takes me a minute to perceive who is who when they are on screen... and if it is some sort of fast paced action sequence with quick cuts, forget about it.
Submarine: 8/10
I don't like coming of the age movies anymore but this is a rare exception along with "The Perks of Being a Wallflower".

I know they have been out forever, but I didn't care much for Disney stuff and I'm playing catch up.
I'm on a huge pirate kick right now, just beat Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, started Black Sails on STARZ and doing a Pirate of the C movie a night until finished.

I'm a huge fan of the first Pirates of the Caribbean film. The sequels are solid too, but for me, The Curse of the Black Pearl is everything a Hollywood blockbuster should be.
Johnny Depp seemed to like it too seeing as he's essentially been playing Jack Sparrow in every single film he's been in since.

Awesome movie that'd make Tarantino proud... It almost felt like he owns this production. Think of it as Hostel/Fight Club female version. Even would make Ronda Rousey and the UFC women piss their pants on this one.
It'll also make Katniss from Hunger Games seemed salvageable in the fights on this too.. No bows and arrows bullshit just pure Cynthia Rothrock-ish MMA fights... https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/537549_10150820282737945_535367944_9727286_1877131416_n.jpg

Was ok. I'd probably have liked it a whole lot better if it came first, but it didn't so it has to deal with getting compared to the Korean version..... and compared to that version, the American one is "ok". Oh my fucking god. What a fucking movie. Just as awesome as the first one. Eva Green is the true scene stealer. She even makes Katniss fighting skills look like complete noob... Even Xerxes had his own chewing up the scenery.. But this movie felt like Empire Strikes Back style... Artemesia has a little bit of Vader attitude when she doesn't like failures in her ranks. Cutting heads and drowning them with stones in their chained arms... All in all, blood and gore plus her cleavage = boner level 90000000000.
Even had one bad-ass scene where she chops off the head of the Greek captive and kisses it like OTEP does when she kisses the pig's chopped head.
Queen Cersei Lanisster aka Gorgo had her own bad-ass moments but sadly, don't expect a catfight.. It was more of a man vs woman scenario.. Still, fucking awesome as it is.

Other than that, it was way better than the 1st Capt. America. And Nick Fury finally reveals by removing his eye patch. Hah. Scarlett is still smokin hot as Black Widow.
Love the scene in the ending where the Tesseract was revealed in a hydra lab and it's supposed to be a sequel to avengers not just the 1st Capt. America plotline!

And for once it's a breath of fresh air from the PG-13 rating and non violent action flicks lately. The whole DEA squad is behaving more like Sons of Anarchy than a real police squad anyway. Drinking, Drugs, fucking etc.. IT just screams SamCro all the way.
I'd give it a 7/10 because well, I have a new crush on this woman.

And the ending reminded me so much of the 1st Terminator in the disco scene where he had a shootout with Kyle.
P.S. The movie could've also used the Beastie Boys song of the same title as the main theme throughout the film.. It's really fitting too!

Actually good sci-fi movie. I can reference the plotline ranging from Her, to Terminator-ish Skynet dominance and Mass effect's storyline of Illusive Man wanting to control synthetics and co-existing with organics.. Metallica: Through the Never. The plotline just took a huuuge backseat as a random music video everytime Metallica plays the next song.. Best part was the Sandman when the pyro and stage collapses and James told the audience to stop and check the whole staff... Does that happen often in their concerts too? Cos, it's like Cunning Stunts Live on DVD as well. Similar accident during the Enter Sandman song... Damn.
And we still don't know what was in that roadie's package... Weed? New drums? etc? whatever, this movie was just another kick-ass live concert masquerading as a horror flick.

House of Tolerance - Good french movie about a whorehouse at the turn of the 20th century. Pretty plotless, just deals with the day to day stuff the women go through: syphilis, mutilations, hygiene, camaraderie, etc etc. Had some good scenes involving a black panther, tears of cum, and a melancholic dance sequence to an anachronistically used "Nights of White Satin" by the Moody Blues.

Amazing Spider-Man 2-5/10
Just as I feared. Too much going on, too many characters, and not enough time to flesh anything out. Everything was really rushed. Electro could have been a pretty tragic character, but he turned heel instantly rather than building towards it. Goblin was a waste. Rhino was a hammy acting job. Still love the chemistry between Peter and Gwen. Harry and Peter on the other hand had no chemistry, and trying to get us to buy into them being good friends 8 yrs or so prior to this film flopped. They did not, in fact, learn from the over stuffed Spider-Man 3. I did, however, enjoy the score very much.
GODZILLA-8/10
Loved it. Agree with a lot of the critical comments of not really investing a lot in the films characters, but it's still a really well done Godzilla flick. Well paced, and Godzilla was the fucking man. Love the score, too. Saw they're doing a sequel. Interesting how that's going to work.

Oculus - Very good horror flick that could also pass as a TV episode of Grimm of the evil magic mirror that makes people go ala The Crazies!
Although the ending was a bit sad for me.. Damn, the mirror even has tricks up its sleeve like for example the person who was there that the guy kills just isn't real and sometimes vice versa. It's like the mirror blurs the line of reality and fantasy where people either go psychopath or kill themselves by plucking out their teeth and body parts etc..

Could've been better as a video game than a movie! Other than that, The aliens reminded me alot of Matrix. Felt like Starship Troopers by way of Inception by way of Groundhog Day etc... Fun sci-fi flick. Had its funny moments of "respawning" logic in a game-ish movie that you can't seem to play at all.
8/10.

More like Spit on your Grave By way of Evil Dead with a dead Apache Indian warrior.. Unlikely ally for a girl who gets raped by redneck dudes who were also responsible for slaughtering Apache Indians back in the day.. Talk about doubling the thirst for vengeance.
The heroine really does a good job of making Katniss and Xena Warrior Princess looked fucking tame and pale in comparison to her combat fatality skills with gore effects that'll make every Mortal Kombat fan would love to see! She'd probably make Scorpion from MK totally proud of her decapatation of heads, intestines etc..
Hell, this is even more brutal than the fighting scenes of last of the mohicans when it comes to gory ass body counts in this one.
9/10.
P.S. One of the redneck dudes looked like Daryl Dixon!

God I loved this movie. Every moment. As hilariously violent as I found the action, I felt that anytime Mr. Waltz was on screen, the movie was in high gear. Only thing keeping it from a 10 is the fact that Dr. Schultz died, damn it.
Also, Sam Jackson is the best Uncle Ruckus ever.
