HOWEVER comma there was a movie trailer for "Get Hard", movie with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart... Alison Brie looking V V V V sexy in it in the short scene she was in. Evening not a disaster.

Just read the synopsis for this and this sounds exactly like the plot of Big Stan, probably the shittiest movie I have ever seen.

Hope it's good. Nice cast.

The Hunt (2012) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2106476/) - 10/10

Amazing movie... Lots of despair and isolation... huge nightmare. "Emotionally draining." Great acting by the lead actor and cast in general.

Was nominated for Best Foreign Film last year @ Oscars. About a kindergarten teacher whose life starts to fall apart after a little girl accuses him of sexually abusing her and the mass hysteria that follows.

Boyhood (2014) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1065073/) - 8/10
Pretty good... really interesting concept and some good "emotional" parts.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2278388/) - 8/10
Feels like I usually don't really like Wes Anderson movies but this was prob my fav one of his. Every shot was "beautiful" and the story actually also seemed interesting to me.

Inherent Vice (2014) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1791528/) - 7/10
I feel like I need to see this again maybe. Had an incredibly annoying theater experience that prob "ruined" the movie for me. Feels like I would have liked it better if I knew more about it going in / knew what to expect, which was sort of a bunch of loosely-intertwined scenes. Felt like I was "having trouble following the movie" because of being really distracted by people around me but the movie was kinda "supposed to be like that" I guess. Need to watch it again... there were a lot of "good parts" and feels like I would def enjoy it way more the 2nd time, and Joaquin Phoenix is the best.

Magic in the Moonlight (2014) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2870756/) - 5/10
Woody Allen movie... seemed pretty weak... idk... Emma Stone is very pretty in it though

The Interview (2014) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2788710/) - 4/10
Seemed bad... was "purposefully" "silly" and dumb and stuff and was trying to "cut it some slack" but just like... didn't seem funny... couple of funny parts but... seemed pretty bad...

Felt annoyed by this movie. "Quirky" "20-something 'creative person'" with rich white parents, living in "Brooklyn"... Sort of like "Girls" but not good... seems like it thought it was being really "cute" and funny a lot but felt annoying to me... feel bad about this review, seems really negative

Just watched the 2014 Godzilla film. Holy fuck this film sucked. Obviously there's the actual lack of Godzilla that most people are aware of by now. The few scenes he appeared in were mostly dark. So dark in fact, that I could barely see anything. And the overall story/plot were horrendously boring.

I don't have a specific rating for it, but let's just say I actually prefer the 1998 movie to this one.

8.5/10.

Was thinking I would only care about the Mick Foley part but it was great throughout. Really loved seeing stories about other people who make most if not all of their money playing Santa Claus at Malls, Personal appearances etc. When I was watching I suddenly remembered going to Santa's Village in New Hampshire as a small child.

I only take off a few points because the movie seemed to be a little bit too long. They follow alot of Santas though. It didn't have a long run time (89 Minutes) but it seemed to drag a bit.

Whiplash - I put off watching this for some reason, but I really liked it. JK Simmons is the coolest, I liked seeing him go back to OZ roots playing a real shithead. It felt refreshing that a movie focused on what it takes to be the best wasn't played off as inspirational, it shows the shit and sacrifices of achievement and becoming the best in the world at something. 9/10

Into the Woods - Two long goddamn hours of people singing in the forest. There were a lot of homosexuals in the audience and they seemed to really like it, I would give it a 5/10.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014-What a pile of shit. The turtles were too big and looked like shit. Megan Fox is a horrible actress and was badly cast as April. Splinter looked decent but the voice didn't fit him. Plus it "DUDE" Mikey. I hate "DUDE" Mikey. The only people I have talked to that enjoyed it were either kids and fans of that horrible Fred Wolf cartoon or have some serious brain damage. And more than likely think "That's My Boy" is a good film. 0.5 outta 10

Let's be Cops-My girl wanted to see this. She was wanting a comedy. I had no idea that Damon Wayan's son was acting. He was decent in this. And unlike most modern mainstream comedies it at least made me laugh 4 or 5 times. Worth a rental. 6 outta 10

Turtle Power-This is a documentary about the TMNT phenomenon. Starting with the brilliant Mirage Black and white comic. Going to the horrible Fred Wolf cartoon. Then a short bit about the fairly fun Archie comics produced TMNT Adventures comic. The three live action films and the 2000s animated one are covered. Even the almost as bad as the Fred Wolf cartoon,Live action TMNT the next mutation gets some lip service. I enjoyed hearing about how much hands on Peter Laird had with the 4kids cartoon and the current Nick cartoon. This is mostly after how Fred Wolf took the original concept and turned it into shit. 8 outta 10

I have it but haven't seen it yet. I really liked the 4kids cartoon. Still need to see the Fast Forward season. So far the only TMNT shows or films I didn;t like were.

1.The Fred Wolf cartoon, yeah I get it for an entire generation this was their cartoon as a kid. So they look back on it fondly. Hell I am dating someone that loves this cartoon. But to me they went too far into the kid direction with that cartoon. I find the first film to be a perfect blend of the original Mirage TMNT mythos with a tiny dash of the Fred Wolf cartoon.

2.TMNT the next mutation. What a pile of shit. So bad that right after it finished airing Eastmand and Laird disowened it. And for years pretended like it didn't happen.

3.Micheal Bay TMNT movie,I gave this a try and holy shit balls is it horrible. But I can see where if you are a fan of the Fred Wolf cartoon how you would enjoy it. It wasn;t just the story and acting, the CGI looked like shit and the Turtles were way way too big.

Dunno, feel like I might rate it a point or two higher if I watch it again knowing what to expect. I was really in the mood for a horror movie when it started, and it starts out that way, but half way through it urns more into an action thriller/revenge movie.

Like, it's not scary at all at that point because the protagonist is this badass, and the villains are grossly incompetent in comparison.

Also, and this is just me, but in these types of movies, the attackers are much less scary when they have a motive. Like it's lot scarier to me when they seemingly are doing it just because they want to. Like in Strangers. "Because you were home."

Anyway, it was still really good, and if I wasn't in the mood specifically for straight horror, I might have enjoyed it even more.

It's on Netflix. Watch it.

Aeon: The Last Vampyre on Earth 6/10
Very low budget but if you can make it through the first 15 minutes this might be your thing.
--Fleeing a cataclysm of unimaginable origin, Catherine in a nightmare while holed up in a crumbling warehouse where a crypto classified "human predator," has been accidentally set free. Catherine soon realizes that she is in fact not alone - coming face to face with the last Vampyre who is starving from being imprisoned in a weakened state for decades. Catherine begins to fear that she may have stumbled into her own tomb, but reaches within herself to engage with the creature learning more about human history than the world outside would dare to face, a truth so alarming and illusion shattering that it could only be told by the last Vampyre on Earth.--

10/10.

The most adorable buddy robot movie ever. a bit like Johnny No.5/Robocop storyline with a bit of Avatar-ish finale. Almost felt like Die Antwoord dominated the screentime other than Chappie himself turning into a gangsta raging robot. Lots of LOL moments. Die Antwoord's music almost occupied half of the screentime during the funny moments of Chappie being gangsta violent with DA (Cookie Thumper, Baby's On Fire, Fatty Boom Boom) and Enter the Ninja the most epic song played during the finale moments of Chappie.

Poor Yolandi.. I cried my eyes out. :( Gotta love how Die Antwoord in the movie even have their alias names mentioned plus flaunting their music merchandises on their gangsta troops from orange jackets to Yolandi's pet rats and trademark shorts and sexy shirt on their concerts.

For those who hate Die Antwoord, I suggest you watch this movie. Sure, their music sucks to your personal tastes, but hey it's a funny yet entertaining next level Zef movie, mothafukkas. Don't blame me if you get one of their songs stuck in your head cos the 2nd half of the movie has their music hits blasting during the funny moments of Chappie turning into a ZEF GANGSTA BLING MOTHERFUKKA.. Enjoy.

Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance): 9/10

Only lost 1 point because I wouldn't see myself watching this movie "all the time" or anything. But it was pretty great. The way it was meant to look like one long, single take, was awesome. The director said something like "There are no cuts in life" when explaining it, which puts into perspective the first actual cut when he shoots himself on stage, meaning everything after that was most likely imagined.

The Fast and the Furious - 99

Actually saw this when it was out but downloaded it anyway and watched it again to refresh my memory. Except I watched it at 3X the speed and it was amazing to make up their lines for them. I might watch the rest of these movies at 3X too, we'll see.

2 Fast 2 Furious - 78

Watched it in 2X speed which I believe is the perfect speed and the only way to get through these movies. Tokyo Drift up next.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift - 62

Watched at 2X speed again. Not great.

Apparently it is chronologically the last of the The Fast and the Furious franchise films. hmmm

For a proper rating of these films, divide them by 2 I guess

4 Fast 4 Fourious - 80 I guess

I have to take a break, watching these at 2X speed make all of them blend in with each other. Didn't think they would kill off Ana Lucia like that especially since I saw that she's in the next one and the upcoming films.

Speaking of the next one, I think I might watch it at normal speed. But that will be tomorrow.

Fast Five - 80

Very good. Very crazy heist scene. I bet a lot of innocent civilians died walking on the sidewalk that day. Here's to them. Lots of The Rock's sweat drenched this entire film also.

Bonus scene was Eva Mendes revealing to The Rock that Ana Lucia is a ghost. Next one should be good then as long as they include ghost cars.

Fast and Furious 6 - pass.fail

Was going to be fail.pass but the post credits scene alone knocks it up a grade

Movie (and entire franchise) is so ridiculous though. But good ridiculous.

Furious 7 - pass

So ridiculous. But still gets a pass

See, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are both in their respective cars. And then they go for for "one last ride" until Paul Walker's car takes that offramp exit onto the great highway in the sky. Meaning he's dead.

mitch_h

I watched 5 and 6 recently because I was intrigued by the fact that the series has supposedly gotten better and I like The Rock. Here are my spoiler filled thoughts and observations.

Fast Five was good, perfect mix of self aware ridiculousness and legitimate film making. Was Vin Diesel getting broken out of the prison bus part of this movie or was it to get people up to speed with the franchise?

Scene where they are in the Favela jumping from rooftop to rooftop was legitimately good. Jordanna Brewster jumps 20 feet off a roof, crashes through sheet metal and then tells Paul Walker she is pregnant.

"Aww hell nah" - Ludacris' first line of dialogue.

None of the lead characters are really interesting or charismatic but they are sincere and seem like nice people so you get invested in them. The Rock is awesome though, he is mean to people and crashes through windows... no way Vin Diesel could take him.

Final action sequence is great, I'm glad they completely abandoned their Ocean 11 approach and just ripped the bank vault out of the wall with their cars.

Interesting streak of anarchism running through this film, contemporary figures and institutions of power are demolished - the rich, the police, a bank.

Boring epilogue.

8/10

Fast and Furious 6 - The Rock has still got it.

The scene with the supercar that flips regular cars is great. Good little inside reference with the little Asian boy on the bus, I wonder how many little inside jokes I'm missing.

I like that every British guy in this movie gets their ass kicked or they are humiliated.

I totally forgot about Jon Kano fellater Michelle Rodriguez, ugh, too much backstory and Vin Diesel. I don't like her amnesia subplot, I guess I don't approve of soap opera storytelling mixing with big blockbuster aesthetics.

Ludacris is accused of changing/selling out since acquiring millions of dollars, apparently he use to be a modern day Robin Hood, he challenges this by rigging an ATM machine to shoot out loads of cash that is quickly collected by hot women with breast implants.

Tank scene was okay.

MMA chick from those animated gif memes is a good addition, I don't know if her heel turn makes sense but whatever.

Tyrese Gibson has gone from comic relief to completely fucking retarded, he is of no benefit to the rest of the team and almost shoots our main characters with a grappling hook.

Main bad guy looked familiar, I thought I might know him from some cool foreign film, I was disappointed to discover that I recognized him from the Hobbit films.

Airplane scene pretty good, not as good as the bank vault scene from Fast Five though. Sweet doomsday device by the Rock and Vin. I was hoping it would be the hot Israeli girl who emerges from the fire.

Haha, movie ends with our heroes holding hands saying grace.

Two Jamaican guys talked throughout the entire film.

Spoiler filled thoughts and observations.

Jason Statham is the vengeful evil brother sequel bad guy, see Jeremy Irons in Die Hard: With A Vengeance for more info.

I feel like this franchise has a lot in common with professional wrestling: male soap opera, inoffensive violence, completely ridiculous, The Rock.

Speaking of the Rock, I was disappointed that his role was reduced to a glorified cameo, they make the best of him though, he does a sweet Rock bottom through a table and shatters his cast by flexing his arm.

I really liked Vin Diesel in this one, cinema needs more melancholic, unintelligible action heroes who are obsessed with family. He even pulled me into the Michelle Rodriguez still having amnesia because a car exploded beside her storyline.

That action scene where they are rescuing the hacker girl from the bus is one of the series best, the stuff with Paul Walker on the bus was very suspenseful.

Tons of barely dressed hot girls shaking their asses in the United Arab Emirates.

I like how the characters in the movie can do anything, Vin Diesel is a Corona drinking everyman mechanic who can infiltrate an exclusive party thrown by a billionaire like he's James Bond and he can fight anyone while wielding a wrench like it's a Katana.

Like its characters, the movie can do anything and everything. It's a heist movie melodrama action blockbuster kung fu spy movie urban warfare thriller with cars.

The car that's in the penthouse of that billionaire got a pretty big pop from the audience I saw this with.

The ending was sentimental but touching, I liked it. They made it as uplifting as possible, Paul Walker's character Brian happily accepts domesticity, Vin of course values family more than anything so while he verbally expresses his happiness and reverence for Brian, his eyes say "I'll miss you buddy"

one of those films that isn't always easy to watch but you must.

it is a very gritty and at times blunt look at addiction to crystal meth.

There were times during this film that I wanted to simply shut it off, others that enraptured me, and cinematic decisions that were purely questionable and seemingly irrelevant to the story and plot of the film. I think he was perfect. I've never seen the Blacklist though. He was probably one of the only actors who could pull that voice over work off without it seeming silly like Bane.

I agree with the rating though. Best part of the movie was that the seats were leather and reclined. Had worked a full shift at work before and it was hot as hell outside.

Aloha - 6/10 - After hearing but negative reviews and how terrible it was (despite having a pretty well-known cast), I didn't expect much, but it was a solid movie....I guess native Hawaiians were pissed that Emma Stone was playing a character that was 1/4 Hawaiian....didn't effect my enjoyment of the movie at all as I would do unmentionable things to Emma's body, so if you are from Hawaii and get butt-hurt easily, don't watch this movie

Avengers gets a pass

Mad Max: Fury Road gets a pass.fail. The constant desert scene makes me anxious. And I don't want to live in that universe at all. Not as a civilian. Not as a major character. Nothing. I would hate always being on edge.

Tomorrowland has an amazing score and cool visuals but boy, that ending would be really difficult to follow if I was less than 14 years old. I thought this was made for kids. Maybe it's not. pass.fail

Insidious Chapter 3: 7/10. Slightly better than the Chapter 2.. But a prequel ain't that bad.. I wish it would end here. Otherwise, having another Chapter might be a downer.

Jurassic World 10/10... The Mesosaurus made Jaws look like a goddamn goldfish tank watching boring. As for the Raptors having made their peace with Starlord and fighting other dinos really made me feel like a 90's kid again... Also, the familiar theme from the 1st movie was totally respectful.. They even had references to the old first park esp. the familiar items used in the 1st movie from Hammond which is now in ruins!

It Follows - I had heard good things but this was better than I thought. It's about this girl who fucks this guy and is informed that this ghost thing will follow her and kill her if it gets close enough and the only way to get rid of it is to fuck someone else. The concept sounds dumb on paper but it was well executed. Cool Detroit setting and the characters felt "real". The idea of a slow moving unrelenting creature following you around at all times is very unsettling to me, reminded me of this Jehovah witness kid named Adam that always tried to hang out with me. 8/10

The Trial - Orson Welles adaptation of the Franz Kafka story. Very cool cinematography/set design, but it felt a bit muddled and I didn't really like Anthony Perkins as Joseph K. 7/10

Labor Day - This movie is fucked, a total train-wreck that I can't believe was made in the year 2013. It's about an escaped convict (Josh Brolin) who kidnaps a sweaty housewife (Kate Winslet) and her kid (some kid) and they slowly grow to love him. I'll give y'all the low-down. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPIOLERS SRELIOPS

-The main kid is so dull and lame, he gives his mother a husband coupon book for her birthday, where he does husbandly things, he can't fuck her though, but knows that is what she needs.

- When Josh Brolin is not grabbing Kate Wislet by her mouth and hiding behind a door-frame, he is changing the oil on her car, waxing the floor, playing guitar, changing the furnace filter, making delicious food and teaching the neighbourhood kid with Cerebral Palsy how to play baseball.

- Bizarre and sensual pie making scene.

- After like three days Brolin has assumed the role of doting husband and stern but supportive father.

- Kid with cerebral palsy is tactlessly used for suspense. Brolin's mugshot appears on TV screen as his mother comes to pick him up, he tries forcing out Brolin's name but is slapped across the face by his impatient mother.

- It is decided that they will all flee for Canada, Brolin and Winslet make the kid go to the library to pick up a book on Newfoundland so they can learn about Canada and because they want to fuck.

- Kid has strong sexual urges and visions at night of little blonde classmate and women's eyes from Glamour magazine.

- We find out that Brolin went to jail for pushing his wife into a radiator because she was a slut, plus he was so busy killing his wife that he forgot about his baby in the tub, he's not such a bad guy after all.

- Kate Winslet has a severe nervous condition after having four miscarriages but her love for Brolin is beautiful and true and not because she is a broken down, lonely woman.

- Neighbour finds out about Brolin and he goes to jail. The movie jumps forward in time and the kid has grown into dull and lame Toby Maguire, he now owns a bakery and makes pies.

- Brolin is let out of jail and meets up with Winslet and they walk away hand in hand.

It Follows - 8/10

I didn't find it that scary. Creepy, yes, scary, no.

Saying that though, I did like the idea behind it, along with the cinematography and it did have a classic/80's horror movie feel to it, which I also liked. Also, I really enjoyed the soundtrack.

If a sequel does happen, I'd be up for seeing it, even though personally I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but if the sequel is about the origin of "It", as some people have mentioned, then I'd be interested.

The Guest - 7/10

Nothing really stood out about the movie apart from the soundtrack, which just like It Follows, I enjoyed. The film did have a bit of an 80's feel to it and it was a bit absurd at certain moments, which did give me and my friends a bit of a laugh.

Had the same problem with Clarke. Linda Hamilton trained her ass off for T2 and when came time to film she looked like a fucking beast. They should have gotten someone who has more of a pedigree in asskicking roles, like Jovovich or Beckinsale.
