I watched Jesus Camp recently, really enjoyed it too. For those who don't know it was a documentary on the rise of Evangelical Christianity in America. It was a little one sided, but I don't think it was manipulation on the part of the filmmakers, they just let the footage speak for itself. I found some of it to be a little disturbing, stuff that could constitute as child abuse. There was a particularly troubling part, where greasy Ted Haggard looks to the camera and says "If the evangelicals vote, they determine the election." Thank my God he was caught with young, male, prostitutes.

Last House on the Left is one of my favorite horror movies. :(

Nah, didn't read the book.

It's got good action and Wahlberg is Wahlberg. The plot is rather formulaic in the good guy is setup and sets out to clear his name etc. It's basically a run-of-the mill action/thriller, some laughs in it too. Danny Glover slurred his words a lot though, almost as if he's suffered a stroke. It was weird. The 3rd act suffers a bit. There's a scene where it appears the movie is going to end but it doesn't even though I think it would have been a fine ending.

There is some not-so-subtle "preaching" about our current administration, which annoyed me. I hate when movies try to slide that in there.

Overall, it's nothing worth rushing out to see. But it was a fun ride. I liked it better than Fuqua's last two films; King Arthur and Tears of the Sun.

Believe it or not, that movie wasnt ever supposed to be released, Wes Craven couldnt get it past the NC17 rating at the time, and just flat out slapped an "R rated" sticker ont he canister and sent it out like that. Really? I wasn't a huge fan of it. Yeah it was good, but it wa just like a WW2 movie, and I didn't like the ending. But meh.

I don't agree with you there. I don't think it was like a WW2 movie at all. In fact it reminded me a little of Half Lirfe 2....oddly.

I can kind of see where you are coming from, but any comparison would be superficial at best.

The ending was low key certainly, I liked the way you could hear the childrens voices as it faded to black. I thought it fitted nicely as the start was very bleak with the news report. It showed how the world had changed over the course of the story.
