No, you missed the point entirely. They celebrate everything LIKE they are beating WWE. How does doing better than any other wrestling company NOT WWE matter at all? They could have just said they had their best gate, but is just being successful not fun enough? Austin Theory is a bigger star than just about anyone in AEW right now. Both in terms of how well known he is (due to WWE’s audience) and how featured he is on his programming (“Moose stars in Impact Wrestling”). I’d argue more people are tuning in to see what happens next with Austin Theory than are paying vivid attention to AEW.

Being featured in the more popular show is going to be more culturally relevant than the entire universe of a tiny one revolving around you (like it does anyone down there anyway). I didn’t pivot from anything. I said it then and I’ll say it now: Austin Theory is a bigger star in wrestling than Adam Page.

I've been in a LULL with AEW since Revolution. I have a big bone to pick about their booking of Hangman. Think back to when Austin was running hot. Almost every episode was built around him. Adam Page has been horrendously pushed. You only get one first time with a guy. You could see it coming a mile away and it was a bad idea then too. The approach that all your ideas are good makes it easy to stick to bad plans.

Think about how over Page could be if he was having meaningful feuds in the middle of the card, with his own corner of the show. Instead they had to stick to the plan and tell their “masterpiece.”

Page will probably be a heel by the end of the year. Some people will be very forgiving, but imagine what could have been.

It goes with the territory; they’re taking on the behemoth, it’s David vs. Goliath, you find it with pretty much every sport, and in many facets of life beyond. Thing is, there’s a contingent of WWE fans that are very much the same (but we don’t talk about <s>Bruno</s> that so much).

The thing is, if these “AEW Tweets that ALWAYS bring up WWE” are so ubiquitous it should be really easy to use one as a starting point/further evidence to your point. But you haven’t done that. You’ve doubled down, then tried to move the discussion in a different direction. That’s what you’re taking flack for. And this is why Vince has historically tried to keep a lid on what he pays guys — you can’t pay a bunch of guys $5 million then expect to get away with paying other guys chips (comparatively).

Tony’s also paying these guys enough money that they won’t need him. They’ve got enough money after one cycle to retire, or even go somewhere else that pleases them more or start their own thing.

The only reason these large contracts was justified in the beginning was to secure the stars to get the platform to generate the attention to attract the revenue. You don’t have forever and a day to do that before the guys you are paying so much ask for more money, the guys underneath ask for more money or the guys making money to be invisible decide to go back to fame or do their own thing. Or decide they just don’t want to take bumps anymore.

We don’t know what happens when talent asks for their release in AEW. Is TK going to play things like Vince? Is he going to be able to standup to guys telling the truth about situations on Twitter? Is he going to be able to fight to keep guys locked into contracts they want out of?

Starting to find it hard to like Tony Khan, he's got such a "booker boner" for himself. He has to sneak in at almost every press conference that this was "the best PPV yet/of the year/all time/ever/etc"...

Last night saying that his ROH show is maybe the best ROH PPV of all time after jobbing the entire OG roster to his AEW guys... which on some level is fine but maybe he could have thrown someone a bone in that regard. He also said that he's capable of booking both ROH and AEW and tonight is proof.

He said he will listen to peoples ideas but it's his show and he writes it. He said you can only listen to so many ideas that he gets pitched about 100 times a day and you can't please everyone. Which is true I get that. Just don't come onto a presser and bitch about things like a little shit millennial and try to take some inspiration from the guy who invented the business and incorporate some stoicism into your character.

Still, the ROH roster presented last night is fantastic and I am excited to see the first slew of shows to see if I will be a regular viewer or not. I think there is a chance for sure that I can get back into ROH.

I can't help but fill in my own narrative to the events we've seen take place at AEW with the EVP's and Tony. Clearly, it would seem that Cody had very strong opinions and likely a bit of resistance to Tony's ideas or vice versa. I can see that Tony probably cooled off on Cody as a real leading player after the TNT Championship angle with Brodie Lee.

Cody hung on for another year after that, bouncing between outside projects and decent but not main event storylines in AEW. He is a main guy, no way should he have been relegated to less than.

Hoping that Regal, Danielson, Punk, Jericho, The Bucks... Daniels ... somebody can get the respect of Tony to get some influence on him.

I'm wondering what the situation is like backstage right now. I could see it being "totally fine" in a broad sense. But I'm really wondering how Danielson is feeling. He is really close with Vince and has worked with some big time promoters in the past so I wonder what his perception of Tony is right now. What is JR's real perception of Tony? He's called him a genius enough times on his podcast you'd almost have to believe him but you know he's going through some things that make him roll his eyes on a constant basis.

It might seem likely he re-signs with AEW given his dissatisfaction with WWE while he was there, and how much “freedom” AEW allows him, and how much he seems to value that. But a lot has gone on in his life, and there has been evidence of cracks that lend possible credence to the rumors that the relationship isn’t perfect. And if you look at his booking right now — he’s getting to do something he would “love,” but they’re pushing him alongside someone so if he does leave, someone else has been benefitting from that TV time too.

WWE may have a way better chance at bringing back Dean Ambrose than people think. Roman Reigns is going to need opponents. Or maybe he signed an extension yesterday? But that will be an interesting situation.

Okay hot weekend for WWE and wrestling in general, ROH's show was great too and NXT was very good, but let's get our minds back on the promotion that actually puts on an entertaining weekly show, brother.

Thinking about Warddog and MJF. What if... Warddog goes through The Pinnacle, whoever that is. Ethan Page (if that's a thing), Sean Spears, Austin Vanderford... MJF is totally freaked out and him and Lambert devise a way to contractually keep Warddog out of AEW.

So Warddog shows up in ROH. Night 1, kills the champ and takes the title. Let's just say Lethal is the champ and he had beat Gresham on Dynamite, that way a heel can take the loss to Wardlow.

Have Wardlow Goldberg through ROH for a year and eventually find a creative way to bring him back to AEW undefeated to get his hands on MJF's neck, who ideally would be holding the AEW World Championship at that point and we'd get this Megapowers Explodesque storyline that spanned over several years and would be genius and star making.

AEW Tag Division is very strong on paper but one issue is that the Champions are not even the top 3 team in the company. Over? Yes, Lucha Express is over and I'm not suggesting they shouldn't be champs, just stating the fact that AEW has teams that are better and more over. But they are making stars I get it.

What I'm getting at is really, what's next for Mox & Danielson? Yeah it's a shame they aren't able to face RKBro or Priest & Edge... but we've gotta get them in line for FTR eventually right? The Young Bucks, shit that's gotta happen, that's a great main event or PPV match, The Hardy's? Sure another great TV main event.

I can't really see who they are going to really face off with at the next PPV. I have in mind that they may be waiting for Rey Fenix to return so that we can get a sick trio's program with Death Triangle and BCC (including Wheeler probably).

One of my issues lately with AEW is actually the lack of the EVP's. I know a lot of you guys hate on The Bucks but for me they are icons. I love watching them, they make me laugh and their matches always impress me. I want the Buck's to be a bigger presence because to me they are the biggest tag team in the world, by far.

And Kenny. I miss Kenny. Kenny is AEW just as The Bucks are and Cody was. :'( We need Kenny back with or without Don I don't care just bring him back soon because he is the equalizer. Kenny is the reason that anyone ever wanted to come to AEW in my opinion. You could say Jericho sure, but would Jericho have joined without Kenny?

I have in mind Kenny regaining the belt from Hangman but also I'd really like to see a program with Keith Lee afterwards for the gold. Lee and Omega are similar, they are nerds and they both love that crazy PWG style so I'm sure they would come up with a hell of a creative match.

Where in those 4 tweets does he say he doesn't care? He clearly cares about someone he knows shitting on his employer and the people who work there by claiming only "real shows" are those that occur in sold out football stadiums.

It doesn't seem like he was implying, and certainly didn't say, that he didn't care. It seems like he was letting that person know that he wasn't going to discuss or let it impact his day any further after he said his piece to defend his employer/co-workers, because he had more important things to do.
