Might have to stay up to watch Raw tonight to see the fallout of Wrestlemania. Not really sure what's next for Cena assuming The Rock is gone again after tonight. Hoping they step up Dolphs push at some point soon and put him in a feud with Cena, but we're probably just more likely to get Cena v Punk v Jericho.

Was thinking about it since I have tomorrow off work as well, but I've felt so much like shit as I can't sleep in no matter what I do, thought I best sleep tonight instead.

#BROKEN Hasney

What I hope happens on Raw: Cena analyses himself and changes his character accordingly because he lost. Not necessarily heel, but not entirely confident of his own abilities anymore. Maybe a streak of choking in the big PPV matches while winning warm-up matches on Raw or something like that.

What will probably happen on Raw: Cena comes out "HAHA, I didn't need to win. Now I'm going to go after CM Punk's WWE title because he has a poopy face!

Blakeamus
04-02-2012, 03:54 PM
I think they need him to go through the route of "not winning when it matters." He couldn't get the job done with him being the one to prevent CM Punk from leaving Chicago with the WWE title, and losing to Punk again at Summerslam. And now this lost at WM will indeed bury his confidence.

Hasn't been a year yet to the date of MITB, and Cena is currently 0-3 in matches that mattered the most.

Kane actually won that war though. The only way Cena could win was by embracing the hate and he never did that.

Thought Jericho was going for this:

But from the top rope.

So I was cringing, and looking away from my scree because I was sure Punk's neck would be broken.

Jericho did it to Rey a few times anyway.

Any word of a draft yet? I know it's meaningless in terms of rosters, but I like the actual draft show.

I'm sure I read that it's taking place on the 23rd of April.

The reason it sticks in my head is because it's just after I go to the SmackDown house show in Glasgow on the 21st.

I still don't get how the draft WOULD make sense anymore unless they end up scrapping the Supershow deal.

Lock Jaw
04-02-2012, 04:44 PM
I don't get how you don't get it. The dudes on Smackdown are still Smackdown guys. They have a whole show devoted to themselves.

Guys on RAW only have RAW. For the most part.

If a guy like Curt Hawkins is drafted to Smackdown, he could theoretically get actual screen time on Smackdown. On RAW, he has less chance than ever.

Therefore, the draft still matters.

Blakeamus
04-02-2012, 05:02 PM
Well that is why I didn't get it...I don't follow Smackdown as much lately since they started the Supershow, and I assumed you had RAW stars go there as well. Thanks for bringing this up for me. Now I understand that the draft still has importance!

Blakeamus
04-02-2012, 05:06 PM
And speaking of Curt Hawkins, I hope things will happen for him if he is indeed drafted to Smackdown or Raw.

I mean, Raw guys show up on Smackdown when they feel like randomly doing it too.

It obviously matters but barely. To the point where even having it televised seems pointless.

Its from Ryan Clark but might explain why Sheamus vs Bryan lasted just 18 seconds and might have been the match the WWE kept rewriting based on earlier reports also from Clark.

– WWE wanted to open WrestleMania with either the WWE or World title match. They went back and forth on it over the weekend and eventually decided on the World title match opening the show.

– As seen at WrestleMania 28 tonight, Sheamus became the World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Daniel Bryan in the opening match. Sheamus won in just 18 seconds with a Brogue Kick.

The plan was for them to beat the Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero record for the shortest match a few years ago but they didn’t beat it. The short title change had apparently been planned for a while but there were people in WWE trying to get it changed.

Man Died While Watching WWE’s WrestleMania 28 PPV

Posted by Marc Middleton on April 2, 2012 at 6:37 PM

- NOLA.com reports that 24 year old Stephen A. Arceneaux III from Destrehan, Louisiana died while watching WrestleMania 28. The man was reportedly choked out by his 14 year old cousin and pronounced dead at 10:39pm local time.

From NOLA.com:

“According to St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne, Arceneaux had gathered with friends at a home on Murray Hill Drive to watch the pay-per-view event “Wrestlemania 28″ on television when he and a 14-year-old cousin began to wrestle on an inflated mattress on the floor. The juvenile, who is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds, placed his arm around the neck of Arceneaux, who was 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighed 220 pounds, in a move commonly known as a “rear naked choke hold” for 30 to 40 seconds.

Witnesses reported that Arceneaux said he would not give up or “tap out.”

But at some point, someone noticed that Arceneaux was turning blue and told the youngster to release the hold. When he did, witnesses realized that Arceneaux had stopped breathing and dialed 911, shortly after 10 p.m.

Arceneaux’s girlfriend tried to revive him with CPR. He was transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Champagne said the investigation is continuing. No arrests have been made.”

I wonder if after last year where the big complaint was that the crowd sounded dead the whole night during WM if they miced up the crowd a little extra last night..

Also wonder if the NJ/NY crowd which could be close to 85,000 will be as loud and involved as last night.

I can say the crowd noise at the Meadowlands can get pretty loud but I think the issue with outside venues is the sound isn't trapped and reverberated from a roof. Of course, it seems loud when you're in the middle of the crowd but I don't know how well that translates to the television audience.

WWE have officially acknowledged that Lord Tensai is A-Train.

Who is Lord Tensai?

He calls himself Lord Tensai, but it turns out the mysterious Superstar who stormed onto Raw SuperShow and defeated Alex Riley this past Monday has a storied history in sports-entertainment, including WWE. When he arrived on Raw, Tensai did not speak and dressed in traditional Japanese garb, which would suggest he is something of an expat.

This, it turns out, is exactly the case. The hulking warrior is in fact the WWE Superstar formerly known as A-Train, who competed in WWE for several years before embarking on a journey of self-discovery in Japan. Once he'd crossed the Pacific Ocean, he immersed himself in the Land of the Rising Sun, embracing a new culture, training regiment, and philosophy that seemingly caused him to forsake the customs of his native United States.

As a final step to his transformation, he took the name "Tensai," which means "disaster." Based on what he did to Alex Riley, he seems to have chosen appropriately.

Lets look at the facts,

Brock Lesnar is a certifiable LEGEND in the sport. An expert MMA fighter and MMA legend and an expert wrestler who won like almost all the titles in the WWE. It makes sense for WWE to bring him back.

A-Train/Lord Tensai/Baldbert is a washed up has been who was never over, cant wrestle well, does the same moves all the time and the fans have NEVER EVER cared about him. His only claim to fame was having a hairy body.

Brock Lesnar had a move called the F-5 which is the military code for a tornado, I think. A-Train is just, well, a train. So I think the natural disaster is obviously BROCK LESNAR.

Partial Source: Pwinsider

The backstage reaction to Brock Lesnar’s WWE return looks to be similar to the feelings many had for The Rock’s return. The general feeling from many talents are that Lesnar is another big name that decided to leave WWE at one point, and is now back and will get whatever he wants.

Also the new stooges are hosting next week's RAW.

Had a thought that they should do the winner of MITB vs Undertaker as a champion at WM 29 in a Streak vs Streak match. Either Taker's Streak ends or MITB winner finally loses (10-0 as of now).

Rock/Punk wont sell as many as Rock/Cena, sorry, no way..not happening.

Rock/Taker, make it understood its Taker's last match, put him in the HOF the night before like they did with Flair before HBK/Flair..that would outsell Rock/Cena. Have Rock brag about how hes beaten Austin/Hogan/Cena at WM and now he wants to do the one thing 15 other men could never do..the one thing no one else will get the chance to do..Beat Taker at WM.

Sells itself...and it'd be huge.

Brock Lesnar Returns to WWE Wrestling; Is UFC Fake Too?

Brock Lesnar, the former UFC star, made headline news around the world Monday Night when he returned to WWE television for the first time in eight years. Before Brock Lesnar was an Ultimate Fighting Championship superstar, Lesnar carried Vince McMahon's WWE on the top of his broad shoulders. After leaving McMahon in 2004, citing the hectic schedule, Lesnar made a brief foray into the National Football League with the Minnesota Viking before he headed to Dana White's UFC. Brock Lesnar's pro wrestling return was undoubtedly a head spinning surprise. But it also blurs the lines between professional sports and sports entertainment. His return begs the question; is the UFC fake too?

First, no, the UFC is not "fake". But neither is World Wrestling Entertainment. When used to describe sports, the word "fake" is often misconstrued. The preferred term in wrestling is "work." The men and women of the WWE do not participate in "fake" moves, because there is no faking many of the moves. When you get body slammed, you truly do feel the impact. But instead, the performers work together to produce the best outcome. So the question should be, is UFC also a "work?"

Many UFC fanatics will balk at the concept. But you have to approach the suggestion with an open mind. Take for example early professional wrestling. At one time, pro wrestling was a legit competition. If fact, the early days of pro wrestling resembled what modern day UFC looks like, but without the pomp and circumstance. Although early legit pro wrestling was marketable, wrestlers and promoters soon realized that they drew more fans when they worked with each other and created more excitement and more action. This was the beginning of the "work." Wrestling eventually morphed from a legit competition into full formed sports entertainment. Dana White and UFC differentiate themselves from the WWE by promoting the fights as legit competition. But are they truly legit? Or are the guys "working" with one another to produce an exciting and dramatic match that will ensure more pay per view buys and merchandise sales.

Here is something to ponder and ask yourself. Put yourself in the position of Dana White. You are the owner of UFC. You make millions of dollars a year, and you employ hundreds of people. Business is good. One day an average looking guy with no real physical appeal or personality comes along. This average man ends up being the greatest fighter you've ever seen and it's doubtless that he could kill any of your top fighters. However, you know if this guy will tank your business because your business is built on clashing personalities, brash attitudes and God-like physiques. Do you use this average man? Or do you ignore him and push your own men?

If you said you would not use the average man, then you are well on your way to acknowledging that UFC could be a work. Again, not "fake." The guys really do hit one another, and I will not argue that point. But "work" to produce a mega star that will rake in the money for the company and make a lot of people rich. If it were a legit competition, the average man would be used and would go on to kill all the top fighters, and the business model would tank.

I am not claiming that UFC is a fixed sport. I am merely saying that it could be a "work." The arrival of Brock Lesnar back to the WWE on Monday night, in additional to former WWE and UFC stars Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn, reminds me of the similarities between the two entities, as well as reminding me that UFC is merely an updated version of the older form of professional wrestling. For fans of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the topic will short circuit your brain and you will be adamant that it could not be a work. No reasoning will suffice. But for smart pro wrestling fans who understand the full progression from legit sport to sports entertainment, they'll acknowledge that it's quite possible that UFC is the ultimate work.

WWE feel the ‘YES!’ chants will pass

While the “YES!” chants for Daniel Bryan have gone well with WWE officials, some in charge believe that the chants will end beginning with next week’s WWE tapings and things will go back to normal for Bryan as far as crowd reaction goes.

Despite WWE expecting the chants to eventually go away, they will be releasing a new “YES” t-shirt soon. Bryan wrote on Twitter:

“The people have spoken, and @wweshop has listened. The #YesYesYes shirt may be out as soon as monday. Will keep you guys updated.”

Pretty dumb for the WWE to not capitalize as much as possible to keep those chants strong to help with the t-shirt sales. Not as surprised considering based on previous reports, they never planned anything long term for him while he got very lucky Henry and Orton were hurt during his reign.

I don't care why he's back. I just don't care for the guy and don't want to see him come in and be in the WrestleMania main event a year later like Rock did. He's gonna be playing the asshole because that's what he is. Even the way he came off on Raw seemed like a smug prick without saying a word.

This could also be based on my feelings on how the Rock-Cena feud left a bad taste in my mouth. Rock was due for his "comeuppance" against Cena after being such a dick at last year's Mania and Survivor Series namely. And he never got what he had coming to him. So storyline-wise it just made me wanna see him get it even more. And Brock's too much of an ass to be the opponent to give it to him. That just leaves a bigger asshole walking around thinking he's "running things".

Really want Punk vs Rock for these reasons. The promos would be ridiculous. Basically Cena-Rock promos raised to a whole new level.

Cena was not more of a cunt than The Rock.

I've probably said this at least 10 times and about 3 people have gotten it...

Regardless of who you sided with in the feud, you're gonna think the other was more of an asshole when it came to promos. Doesn't matter. Not what I'm talking about.

WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT when I say Rock was the bully heel in the fued is WrestleMania... Rock costing Cena the title in the main event against a heel Miz. Survivor Series... Rock getting the pinfall against the guy he handed the title at WM and then attacking Cena WITHOUT PROVOCATION. After Cena was trying to leave and give Rock the spotlight, no less.

These are just dick moves storyline-wise and Rock ended up winning the match in the end. There was no payback for his being an ass.
