Some recent stuff from the dirsheets:

WWE putting Ryback with Paul Heyman is seen as “feast or famine” and “one last chance” for Ryback to make it as a top star.

There has been speculation that Paul Heyman aligning with Ryback will lead to a Ryback vs. Brock Lesnar match but word is that this is more of an end game for WWE.

If things don’t go as planned and Ryback fails in the new role with Heyman, it will be easy for WWE to write him off for the time being and have Lesnar destroy him.

One problem with this is that it could draw a major babyface reaction for Ryback, possibly something bigger than anything he has experienced so far. There are plans for a Lesnar babyface turn but not until after WrestleMania XXX so if they would do the Lesnar vs. Ryback match before then, it could be with Ryback as the babyface and Lesnar to be heel.

WWE officials recently discussed two potential roles for Big E Langston, which is part of the reason why he hasn’t been featured on TV as much lately. The roles were Paul Heyman’s latest acquisition or a bodyguard for Daniel Bryan.

The feeling is that the alliance with Bryan most likely will not happen and the new “Paul Heyman Guy” role went to Ryback at Night of Champions.

Speaking of Vince, he’s high up on The Wyatt Family and their promo videos, especially the mic work of Bray Wyatt. At the same time, there’s a feeling that there needs to be some kind of advancement with the group. The challenge is finding a “happy medium” with the way The Shield was pushed from day one.

As noted before, The Shield vs. Cody Rhodes, Goldust and Dusty Rhodes is being discussed for WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view. There’s a feeling that Dusty may not be used in the match because of his age but it’s said that if Vince McMahon gets his way, Dusty will be in the match. Some feel that Dolph Ziggler should team with Cody and Goldust.

Can Vince and creative impose a "feast or famine" situation on themselves so that the next time they book like 8 year old children with ADD and then wonder why no new stars are being built, they can go away? That would be super.

Mr. Nerfect

They shouldn't have pushed Ryback into the no-win situation last year. At Hell in a Cell, instead of doing CM Punk vs. Ryback, they should have done CM Punk vs. Vince McMahon in the Cell. Punk would challenge Vince instead of Ryback, because Vince never "backs down from a challenge." Punk would massacre Vince and Ryback would run down, break into the Cell and chase off Punk. Or Ryback should have turned heel and become a Heyman Guy there and then.

I'm not the biggest fan of the guy, but I could get into this alliance with Heyman and Curtis Axel. Something seems right about Ryback being out there with Axel and vice versa.

Mr. Nerfect
09-24-2013, 08:11 AM
Aw JTG. He entertained me on Superstars this week. The guy is still only 29 years old. Apparently he's a stiff worker and has a bit of an attitude problem, but he is charismatic as hell and can work a mic and a decent match. I'd forgotten how jacked the guy is too. He could make a half-decent mid-card babyface. Have him approach Heyman and ask to be a Paul Heyman Guy because he gets no opportunities. Heyman says that he just doesn't see anything in JTG. So JTG attacks Ryback or Curtis Axel during one of their matches and triggers a DQ. He wants to know if Heyman sees anything now.

If you have a dull babyface that's fun as a heel, the solution's easy: make him an anti-hero fan favorite like the Rock or Steve Austin.

One of the most recent back issues of the Observer on F4WOnline.com is the one dated July 1, 1996, looking at King of the Ring 1996. Of course we all remember it as what helped kick start Austin's ascension to superstardom.

Of course no one had any clue that's what was going to happen when he gave the speech. Has any legendary moment in wrestling history the past 30 years has been downplayed so much by Dave Meltzer?

7. Austin beat Roberts in 4:28 to win King of the Ring. The storyline was that Roberts was working on badly injured ribs. Ironically it was Austin who was hurt legit as he needed 15 or 16 stitches in the tongue and mouth (done backstage at the building, not in the hospital as was said on television). Austin worked the ribs for about 3:00 and Gorilla Monsoon came in to stop the match. Roberts begged for him to let it go, which he did. At this point they got a lot of heat and Roberts made a quick comeback before being cut off. Austin got the pin with the Stone Cold Stunner and did a strong post-match interview knocking Roberts religion and drinking problems. 1/2*

I was thinking that at WrestleMania next year, The Shield teaming up to face the team of The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin & Chris Jericho would be pretty epic. Ambrose could cut promos about how Jericho brags he beat Austin and Rock on the same night, but at WrestleMania, they're going to beat Austin, Rock and Jericho in the same night.

Plus, with The Rock's health being questionable and Austin not being confident about being in "Stone Cold" form, Jericho could work the majority of the match and make it amazing.

Ambrose should be a staple in the upper-midcard scene. He can work the mic and he's great in his role. He really can be like a new-age "Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman. Reigns has the size but he's not very interesting.

In NO way should any of them even be considered to face The Rock or Stone Cold at WrestleMania. It's so far above them it's crazy.

Ryback putting over Mark Henry was a weird decision, I'll give you that. Actually probably should have been a squash completely in Ryback's favor to announce that "he's arrived." He actually should have been facing Big Show at WrestleMania, but whatever.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 03:52 AM
But yeah, Ryback has never really interested me. The only time I found him slightly interesting (until recently) was when he was part of the Nexus, but I found most of that group interesting.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 03:56 AM
Most of all, I'm kind of over part-time mega-stars only interacting with other top stars in less-than-interesting ways. I don't really want to see Rock vs. Brock. Yeah, the match puts two big stars in the ring together, but I'd rather see Brock Lesnar against Daniel Bryan or The Rock facing Dolph Ziggler at this point. I want to see new stars made through interaction with these big names; not just have the big stars exist in their own paradigm away from the full-time roster.

Jindrack baby

I'm trying to remember that. I remember there were rumors that Jindrak would be in Evolution, but that never happened, did it? Whatever happened to that guy? I remember his "Reflection of Perfection" stuff, which was pretty much contained to Velocity and him beating guys with The Mark of Excellence and doing not much else, but nothing after that.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 06:27 AM
I kind of thought that RVD had a real good shot at beating ADR for the WHC at NOC, but then he kind of lost. I think the natural progression of the feud would have lent itself to RVD winning there and defending against Del Rio at Battleground. Given that they haven't put the World Title on RVD yet, and he's set to be taking time off soon, do you think they'll have Del Rio beat RVD at Battleground?

If that's the case, can anyone else see the WWE putting Rey Mysterio over Del Rio sometime in the future, giving him another reign with the World Title and trying to pass him off as a true hero to Hispanic people? Then Damien Sandow will attack Rey down the line after he defeats Del Rio once and for all and cashes in to become the World Heavyweight Champion and then beats Rey a few times before moving onto something else.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 06:28 AM
Jindrak went to Mexico if I believe.

Thanks. He'd probably look like a giant down there. Well, unless you compare him against the other big guys that go down there to look like giants.

Just did a search on Jindrak. Apparently he is in Mexico and he has the highest vertical leap in WWE history. He's only 36. The WWE could probably bring him back under a mask and he could be fairly amazing. I can't remember much about the dude's work, though. I never remember being particularly impressed.

I've watched the formation of Evolution quite recently so it's fresh in my mind how it happened. HHH & Flair were together, Flair had Batista catch his eye and there was some loose connection with Orton. Then Orton and Batista got injured.

Couple of months later, Orton is back and teaming with HHH/Flair. They teased a fourth member for a while, but Batista was still out during that time. According to a shoot interview by Jindrak, he was going to be that fourth guy and had done all the filming for the tron and everything ready for him to be unveiled, but they waited for Batista instead.

Didn't really believe it until I saw that picture as they never seemed high on Jindrak at all. Not sure if the video version is available

Gertner, what do you think of TNA? Do you think they are on the right path with anything? What would you change?

TNA suffers from having great ideas and horrible finishes. The Aces and 8's idea was cool, but then it just drizzles out. They do this crap constantly. AJ and Dixie are kinda interesting, but I'm not the biggest AJ fan. TNA does too much stop and starting and I believe Dixie is in over her head and they need to spend money on a good booker. They had Dutch Mantell right under their nose who I think is terrific.

I know this is a crazy idea, but id bring in Raven to book.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 07:49 AM
I think Raven has got some great views on professional wrestling. If they get rid of Hogan come October, then he'd make a great change of pace. He'd also make a great commentator for their show, I think. I used to love Tazz, but his work with Mike Tenay kind of meanders. Small gripes, but I do think they are important to the aesthetic of a show.

Dutch was apparently behind the Knockouts Division in its early stages, which was some of the best booking TNA has ever had. I wish the WWE would let him and Heyman work more actively in creative roles in the WWE, but their booking at the moment is fine really.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 07:54 AM
AJ was the wrong pick to win the BFG Series, in my opinion. I know he was the clear choice and there's been a story of him not being able to challenge and all that, but I think the best option would have actually been Austin Aries.

Bobby Roode is a heel, so he was out from the start. Magnus had a really strong start and has come along nicely, but something about "Bully Ray vs. Magnus" just doesn't sound right for their biggest PPV of the year. AJ Styles getting the title shot was just too predictable, and AJ's been kind of flip-flop as a character recently. If they went with Austin Aries, they'd remind people that he exists, that's he's a great worker and promo (if undersized), but has got that little bit of oomph that makes him more intriguing in the main event scene than Chris Sabin, for instance.

But now that AJ Styles is in the match, I'm kind of hoping that Magnus costs him the match. I know it's their WrestleMania and all that shit, but I think TNA needs some feuds to try and draw people in. I think Magnus getting a bit pissed off at AJ beating him in the BFG Series and thus costing him his World Title opportunity would make a simple yet compelling story moving forward, while they work out whether or not Styles is leaving or staying.

Ray could gloat about his success and then move into a program with some other babyface. A pissed-off Joe could work; Aries has already been mentioned; maybe they could re-hire Ken Anderson and give him another run? I'm spitballing here.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 07:58 AM
Random thought:

Given that he's been absent lately, I really wouldn't mind it if Wade Barrett returned as a babyface against this whole Triple H regime thing. It would seem an odd thing for his character to do, but his current heel brawler thing isn't really catching fire right now.

During a three-on-one beat-down of Daniel Bryan one week, Barrett can just make a random appearance and fight off The Shield. Everyone is like "Um...wtf?" Barrett just cockily looks at Bryan, smirks and heads off. No one has any clue why Barrett, who is certainly not Bryan's friend, would help out D-Bry.

Barrett's reasoning is that he's watched a few Superstars stand up and take Bryan's side, but so far the fight is uneven -- and there's nothing Wade Barrett likes more than an uneven fight. He calls it a "challenge," and even if he loses, he's going to look good going down in glory.

I dunno. I think it would be slightly more interesting than the current heel lackey Barrett.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 08:01 AM
Watching RAW -- when Goldust and Cody Rhodes attacked The Shield -- I kind of thought it would have been cool if Goldust had his face done differently. Maybe if he went more black with gold instead of gold being the more featured color. Would have made Goldust seem "darker" and more pissed off.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 08:05 AM
Or, with JBL suddenly being promoted to NXT General Manager, Wade Barrett is temporarily given the slot of RAW and SmackDown color analyst, to spread the Triple H propaganda while JBL conducts his business duties. Barrett as a blatantly heel commentator could be hilarious.

I can just imagine Barrett making up stories about Kofi Kingston drowning kittens in the locker-room, or spreading rumors that The Usos are more than just brothers.

Id like to see the two constantly stalking the Shield, with a payoff of Goldust turning on Cody. Goldust could cut a promo on Dusty and Cody with the motivation of "I've always been the black sheep of the family. When have you (dusty cody) ever fought to save my job? Goldust aligns with HHH and the Shield. He could beat up Dusty to get heat and you'd have a white hot face Cody seeking revenge on Goldust, but having to overcome the Shield as well. Could go with "HHH gave me my shot back, but where were you Cody and Dusty when I was down and out. It's always about Cody. Dusty had the chance with Steph to bring me back and didn't."

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 08:31 AM
That's how I'd like to see the storyline going. If Triple H wants to make Cody's life hell, it'd make sense that he'd try to rip Cody's family apart. Steph's already tried to do that to Dusty. Goldust, a fallen Superstar of the past who has always dreamed of getting another shot at glory, would be the perfect candidate to consider turning his back on the family that squeezed him into the freak he is today.

Mr. Nerfect
09-26-2013, 08:32 AM

Ken Anderson and Mickie James are both officially gone from TNA. Neither could come to an agreement on a deal for lesser money and both have parted ways with the company.

TNA is planning on bringing in some "new stars" and ex-X Division wrestlers in the next few months. The "new stars" would be top indy talent around the east.

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Conway turned down an offer to join WWE's developmental program as a trainer. Conway declined because he did not want to relocate to Orlando, FL.

Interesting story. Two days before Backlund was set to win the title, Graham and Sammartino were having a cage match. Both thought Backlund as champ was a bad idea, so the two were going to screw Backlund by Graham "accidently" knock Bruno out of the cage. Bruno nixed it right before the match started.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a decade since Goldberg showed up on Raw for the first time. Back then — in the years after WCW buckled under mounting debt and WWE was left as the only relevant company in sports-entertainment — the former WCW Champion was the most exciting WWE acquisition since Chris Jericho jumped ship in 1999. And, yet, Goldberg’s tenure is widely regarded as a disappointment.

Goldberg may not be a huge part of the sports-entertainment conversation today, but he’s surprisingly relevant for a guy who hasn’t been active since his infamous WrestleMania XX bout against Brock Lesnar in 2004. Almost ten years removed from that bizarre night, audiences are still fascinated by the competitor who once went on a 173 match winning streak in WCW. To this day, Goldberg’s name remains one of the most searched terms on WWE.com.

Figuring out why that’s the case isn’t difficult. At a time when the most vital cross-section of WCW’s roster was made up of previously established, 40-something stars like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Lex Luger, Goldberg arrived as a wholly original main event talent. There were a few things about his persona that didn’t feel fresh — there happened to be another guy who was doing the bald head, goatee and black trunks thing already — but there was so much about this former NFL defensive tackle that was wildly unexpected.

Goldberg took cues from the mixed martial arts world long before the combat sport reached mainstream prominence. And the name Goldberg — a surname most closely associated with female comedian Whoopi Goldberg — wasn’t the moniker of a typical main eventer. In fact, he was nearly known as The Hybrid before deciding to stick with his birthname and inspiring one of sports-entertainment’s most ubiquitous chants.

Most of all, from June 23, 1997, through Dec. 27, 1998, Goldberg did not lose a single match. There’s a growing ideology in sports-entertainment that wins and losses don’t mean much. And, yet, would The Road Warriors have been The Road Warriors if they were getting stomped by The Midnight Express night in and night out? Would Goldberg have been Goldberg if he didn’t flatten Curt Hennig and Saturn with visible ease?

To this very day, Goldberg is romanticized in the quarantine of his thrilling winning streak — and why not? The powerhouse’s best matches were exercises in humiliation for his opponents. These weren’t traditional mat contests where the momentum shifts dramatically back and forth between competitors. These were flat-out muggings. Sure, his opponents were, by and large, puddings. Perennial losers like Jerry Flynn and Glacier who were speared and jackhammered by Goldberg ad infinitum. But watching these saps get annihilated by a physical, aggressive beast of a man was thrilling.

How dare they refer to "Lightning Foot" Jerry Flynn as a "sap" or "pudding".

Yes. I believe the correct term for Jerry Flynn is "raging jobber".

dirt sheets are saying that's Vince's ideology.....if so it is a stupid ideology. But it explains why IC champs and MITB winners lose all the time.

WWE has issued the following press release:

Bring the Excitement of WWE® Home with New Products by Sakar

Kid-friendly Camelio Tablets, Adventure Kits and Accessories Feature WWE Superstars Dwayne "The Rock®" Johnson, John Cena®, Stone Cold Steve Austin®, The Big Show® and More

DALLAS, Oct. 1, 2013 -- Fall Toy Preview -- Leading youth electronics manufacturer Sakar International showcased its new line of officially licensed WWE themed electronics, mobile accessories and other products, today at the Toy Industry Association's Fall Toy Preview in Dallas.

Featuring fan-favorite Superstars The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Big Show, CM Punk®, Ryback®, John Cena®, Kofi Kingston® and CJ Parker(TM), the new products let WWE fans bring the excitement home and show off their allegiance to their favorite characters. The products are part of the licensing deal and the full line will be available soon at major toy retailers. The new WWE products include:

-- The Vivitar Camelio tablet app kit, a WWE-themed 'personality kit' that allows users to customize the 7" Android tablet with their favorite WWE Superstars. Each kit includes a case, as well as a special code to unlock branded content, such as WWE wallpapers, widgets, music and books.

-- Three-piece WWE Adventure Kits, each with a digital camera, binoculars and a flashlight.

-- Character flashlights with wrist strap and mini LED flashlights with carabineer clip.

-- A WWE stylus and universal 7" portfolio-style tablet case, sold separately.

CJ Parker? Huh? Why?

Hmmm, maybe they'll change CJ Parker's name, or else WWE would have made it a registered trademark (R) by now and not just an unregistered trademark (TM). Registration costs several hundred dollars per product class, but that's a drop in the bucket for WWE.

I feel as if Dolph Ziggler should be in a shaving commercial, let's say Gillette Mach 3.

"I am perfectiooon!" -Cue three jets overhead leaving trails of shaving cream-

Dolph glides the razor over his cheek and grins at the close, smooth shave! :)

"The perfect shave for the perfect champ."
