Just log off please.

The is no reason to put Triple H vs Undertaker. That'd be a awful match for various reasons.

1. Both are middle superstars who take in face and heat from the crowd.
2. Both are getting older and need no getting over each other.
3. Neither can really wrestle.
4. Triple H can't be seen as a heel as the fans turned him twice in the past 10 years to face.
5. Triple H has a responsiblity to put over Sheamus at Wrestlemania just as Undertaker with Barrett.

Btw, Barrett doesn't need his cronies anymore. He can bring his own heat now and I think he would do a good program.

You have potential great future faces in Miz, Morrison, and DiBiase so it's imperative to put over such new heels like Barrett and Sheamus.

Wow...really?

First off...face vs heel in all matches hasnt been done in years.
HBK vs Taker at past 2 'Manias have both been faces.
Sheamus and Barrett are both as over as they need to be at this point in their careers.
And who the fuck are you to say HHH and Taker cant wrestle but Barrett can? Fuck you buddy. Your whole statement is shit.

Barett Vs Undertaker at mania would be a HUGE waste of time! Taker's streak should not be wasted on having a match with a dump like barret, dont get me wrong he is still new and has good mic skills but he is no where near good enough in the ring to take up a Taker mania match. I say Taker should face Triple HHH next and John Cena last.

For really? Undertaker has maybe 2 mania's left in him and you think him facing the next two biggest stars in the company is a good plan?

From PWInsider:

We've heard from numerous sources that Valentino "Big Val" Puccio, who competed in the original Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1995, passed away today at the age of 45.

We have not heard a cause of death, although Puccio had been battling obesity for many years and was once chronicled on the TLC Network on "Inside the Brookhaven Obesity Clinic", a reality program.

Puccio appeared for several months in ECW playing a large monster heel against the likes of Mikey Whipwreck and Hack Myers, also using the nickname the "Big Valley." He was briefly aligned with JT Smith after Smith began doing his Italian gimmick.

Trained by WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz, Puccio was originally one half of a tag team known as The Undertakers with his brother, Tony Puccio. The pair worked for a number of Northeastern staples at the time, including the Savoldi's ICW.

When WWF created The Undertaker character, The Undertakers team was brought into WWF for a series of house show appearances under the team name Double Trouble. Urban legend at the time was that the team received the bookings as part of an agreement that the brothers would stop using the name, which they had been utilizing prior to the WWF character's debut.

Our deepest condolences to Puccio's friends and family at this time,

Theo Dious

Kane and X-Pac
Edge and Christian
HHH and Austin

Kane and X-Pac started teaming pretty much when I started to understand what wrestling was. X-Pac was my favorite, and my brother liked Kane, so our two favorites teamed up which made it fun.

Edge and Christian- Christian is my all time favorite wrestler, and E&C were the funniest team ever. Loved the 5 second poses. And the run ins. And swerves. Sodas rule!

Austin and HHH. Loved the two man power trip. Loved HHH taking a backseat to Austin...and Austin was a goof in this team. So I liked how different the characters became, but were still killers in the ring.

I've always wondered if there is an actual physical book of rules the WWE has sometimes when an announcer mentions a wrestler breaking the rules or when certain matches seem to have different rules than before.

Like last night on Smackdown during the Last Man Standing for the title somehow can't end in a tie even though I've never heard of them ever say that before.

Wikipedia says their Rumble 2004 match was a double count-out (draw).

It seemed weird during Smackdown the couple of times they kept emphasizing no draws are possible when they never said it in the past but couldn't remember which match had a draw.

Do you think it's been dragged on too long like the Guest Host scenario?

Is it possible that creative has changed the Raw GM a few times as storylines evolve?

Who do you think is Raw GM?

I'd shit myself if it was Vickie Guerrero or someone NOT Triple H.

I highly doubt it's TRIPS since that's what everyone is expecting.

If it was Jericho or The Rock or someone totally like edgy and unexpected, I'd probably buy every paperview for the rest of the year.

He didn't like Vince in his ear.

Also, if they were going to go old school with a commentator, they'd bring JR back.

I think they are over the days of Heyman, Tazz, and Foley commentating.

WWE is more of a business now and media savvy so they are less inclined to bring in guys like Lawleresque personas.

They want young blood to create a persona around and to be the companys announcer for 10 years down the road, etc.

I do see Foley coming back as Mankind or Cactus Jack since we are missing the crazy but funny type of character in WWE.

He could even be a Raw GM or Smackdown GM someday.

It'll be interesting to see, but like Angle n others, I see him returning eventually.

He'll be back for an angle or two, no doubt, and the Hall of Fame.

As a regular? No. He's done being a regular. And he won't go back to announcing. I COULD see him getting in the ring one more time the year he goes into the Hall of Fame, but otherwise it'll be to do an angle with someone and maybe be a guest ref.

He's clearly on great terms with WWE, considering they plugged his book a few months ago.

Can't say I have an opinion on who the GM may be, but I do believe that this whole arc will persist for the foreseeable future.

The reason being is because I think they will try to stretch it out until the inevitable return of Jericho. That way his arrival could be due to him finding out the GM's identity since before he left he announced that he had obtained the IP address.

This would not only help tie up any loose ends, but also revive some energy into a scenario that has long since lost its steam.

It's merely a device. Having the General Manager serve as an anonymous presence allows them to alternate between a face and a heel, depending on what mood the WWE is in. They will put a face to the role one day, but it's not needed right now.

How about...Taker vs. Cactus Jack in a HIAC for Taker's 20th win in a row at Wrestlemania?

It might not be as fun to watch as it was way back when...but Foley will still take the bumps, I'm sure.

Anyway, I'd like this as a good send off for both guys. In theory, I think its a great idea, but I don't think it will happen.

Just a thought.

Anyway, we have not seen the last of Foley in WWE. If he wants one last WWE match, WWE will find something for him.

Could he surpass Regal, Coachman, or Vickie as a Heel GM in regards to heat?

Also, I'd mark out if it was Regal to reclaim his "rightful position" on Raw. As his time as a wrestler comes to a slowing phaize, he has been given a unique leadershop role that he once called his own.

That'd be LEGIT.

It's quite obvious what TNA are planning to do.

Matt debuts and joins Immortal. Everything is cool and TNA jizz's at the fact that they have The Hardy Boyz, and then at around Slammiversary time, Matt turns on Jeff and becomes a face and they have a match for the <s>TNA Championship</s> TNA Immortal Championship.

If not at Slammiversary, because that's too far away, then it'll be at Destination X.

I'm kind of afraid that Matt is legitimately insane. What's the over/under on him being sent to the loony bin?

I don't think he is insane, just ridiculously delusional. He will hit reality once he finds himself in the TNA midcard feuding with Brian Kendrick over custody of nothing.

He's working people. At least in his own mind anyway. Anything Matt Hardy related in print is the same Matt Hardy that was respected for years, that people saw as a shoe in to be a WWE guy for life, a potential agent down the line. He talks sense, rationality etc. Put him in front of a camera and he turns into psycho. I actually thought when he first started acting a loon, following people around and hiding etc, that there was potential for 'weird Matt Hardy' to transfer to his TV character. In a WWE television show environment, they could have done something with it. However they didn't and he's basically that much of a mark for himself that he's continued playing crazy while everybody laughs at him and he sits back laughing at other people because 'lol look how I've worked them' despite achieving nothing whatsoever with it. He's like Vince Russo in WCW on a much smaller scale.

No worries as I appreciated the effort.

I think Matt's at a point where he buys into himself way too much. I don't think he's going anywhere in TNA. Off the bat, a feud with his brother, and then possibly a top title run, but after that, he's just going to get lost in the shuffle like he did in WWE. Maybe even worse.

1. Foley will not still take those kinds of bumps... it would literally kill him

The problem being that if Nexus didn't exist it wouldn't matter. After this is done, unless they do something really drastic to change the way the group works (which I doubt they will) they're still going to be a bunch of guys who went no where and Punk being there is only a way to prevent the inevitable dissolve of Nexus into obscurity for a few months.

You're right, it's WWE's fault. I could have bought Nexus on a whole as something, as there are quite a few decent talents in it, especially now. But now? No. The angle has been going far too long and should just end.

I could easily see Punk, down the line, weeding a few guys out (namely, everyone but Perfect Jr. and Husky) and making them the new SES.

That's why it's a good thing Punk is there. They probably would fade into obscurity because there's no star power there yet, outside of the group threat nobody really cares about them, they've still only been on TV less than a year. It sounds like you're still disappointed that the Nexus program with Cena didn't work out the way you hoped. It looks like they have a plan for Barrett which is good for him. Punk has a program with Cena ready made and could be set for 'the push' with guys to back him to make him seem more of a threat. Nexus have been refreshed and are interesting off the back of that alliance. And as long as they leave enough to work with afterwards, they can try and make one of the guys (not all of them will 'make it' and rightfully so, not very often a group of guys come up at roughly the same time and all turn out to be stars) Gabriel maybe, by having him eventually get the boot and getting into it with Punk. It's 'refreshing' across the page.

Xero
01-10-2011, 08:54 PM
I don't see anything refreshing about the Nexus itself. It's still a bunch of lackeys who won't be able to get the job done at the end of the day lead by someone who happens to have some steam behind him and won't be completely buried. That's all I see them as. Punk is the only reason it's interesting. They're still doing the same shit they've done for more than half a year.

Could I be wrong? Absolutely, and I hope I am, but right now, nothing but Punk refreshes Nexus, and he's not enough to make it interesting as a whole at the moment.

Ernest Mack Shell was arrested late Saturday night in Brushfork, West Virginia after the wrestlers who participated on his show billed as "Dare to Compare" showlearned that he didn't have any money to pay them or others who worked the event.

"He had promised to pay and provide motel rooms for all of the wrestlers who appeared Saturday night," said Deputy W.E. Rose of the Mercer County Sheriff's Department. "Two of the wrestlers, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and Diamond Dallas Page flew in to participate in the event, but all of the others drove here. Some of them came from as far away as Nashville, Tenn., Louisville, Ky., and other areas. Most drove 6-7 hours to be part of this."

Rose added that he and the other deputies arrived at 6 p.m., and at approximately 11:10 p.m., Shell's booking agent told the officers that they should keep a close eye on him.

"He said that Shell didn't have any money and that he thought he might try to skip out," Rose said. "About five minutes later the armory manager came and got us and said: 'You guys might want to get up here. This guy's about to get his butt kicked."

Several wrestlers cornered Shell backstage. "I said: 'Can you pay us and the rest of these here?' When he said he couldn’t, I said: 'Put your hands behind your back. You're under arrest.' He said this was his 174th wrestling promotion,' Rose said. "Some of these wrestlers didn’t have the money to drive back home. Just like us, they were planning to get paid. He was lucky he hired us. Otherwise, he would have had to deal with all of those wrestlers."

Shell was charged with 10 counts of obtaining services on false pretenses. "Those were just the counts in Mercer County," Rose added. "He is facing another 19 counts where he was calling people when he was in Kentucky to participate in the event. He was making deals with the wrestlers as the matches were going on. He said that all he had was an ATM card with a $400 limit."

Shell's bail was set at $50,000 Sunday afternoon. He was being held at the Bluefield City Jail after his appearance in magistrate court.

Beautiful.

Nexus has it's personalities.

As seen last night on Raw, it looks like they are booking Health Slater, Otunga, and Justin Gabriel as somewhat faces. They've always been pretty reluctant to follow orders when it's unnecessary violence.

My question is, would it be possible to break the 3 away from Nexus to form their own stable to feud with Nexus as faces.

If needed, you could bring back some of the old Nexus Members to fill in the ranks to keep Nexus numbers on their side.

I look at Justin Gabriel and see another Evan Bourne.

Heath Slater as the babyface CM Punk? Justin Gabriel is the one with the epic beard dude! If anything he's the CM Punk.

I would say this could work only if they were on two different brands. Both of the groups would be heels though, so it wouldn't be like the the nWo black and white and the Wolfpack. We'll have to see what happens on Smackdown. I'm guessing that Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel will switch to the Blue Team tonight. They will end up helping Wade Barrett defeat The Big Show and will be the The Nexus. Since CM Punk has now changed the name to the New Nexus (which Michael Cole botched by saying it before Punk did btw) I would say that the Nexus name is up for grabs.

I always figured they'd try a 2nd nexus group on smackdown, or at least use the tag belts as an excuse for them to be on both brands. Have them interfere with his match w/ Show this week, under the pretense of them wanting to get back under him because of all the success they had (Tag Team Titles, they beat Edge and Orton, etc). Makes Barrett more of a force, gives them an "out" to Barrett beating Show, and could create a cool rumble moment where the two Nexi face off.

I don't think Nexus could effectively split up. They may all have potential now, but it's too soon to drop them from Nexus. Gabriel and Slater need more character development before they can go out on their own or they will end up like Darren Young...they will get pops initially for coming back to feud with their former stable-mates, but what do you do with them after that? People will eventually get bored and they can't feud with Nexus forever. At best, they would end up in an eight man tag match with Cena and Orton vs. Punk, McGillicuty, Harris, and Otunga, but once that rub wears off...back to jobbing on Superstars.

The first thing that came to mind was that Gabriel, Ginger will follow Barrett to Smackdown and reform there. Maybe throw Sheffield in the mix if hes due back anytime soon. I cant see them succeeding on their own at this point.

Here's what I don't get. Why keep rotating the Nexus roster as WWE has been doing since its inception? One guy comes in, two guys go out, etc etc.

Why not just stick with the original lineup in the first place...or one of the lineups at any time after that. Even up to the present time, it appears the roster keeps shifting.

It just detracts from the strength and goals of the stable and prevents character development. Hell, guys like Slater and Gabriel should have more personality than they do 8 months from their debut.

So, instead of two feuding nexuses, I would still prefer just one strong stable that is enjoyable to watch and has strong characters in it.
