Get them on Raw and I will be all for this.

They should have just stayed Nexus if you ask me, but same group, different name so whatever works.

Yeah.. I mean, what was the point of adding Cm Spunk anyways... He already had a heel faction.

That's the point. Punks stable was destroyed on Smackdown and Barrets was on Raw. With the refreshed writing teams, they probably felt this was best.

As long as Barrett remains the mouthpiece. This guy is the goods. :y:
I don't see how he can be the mouthpiece and not the leader. They'll make a point of having everybody share the promo time.

Easily, they all speak backstage and come to agreements, but Barrett announces them in the ring. Simples.

Can't tell what it is, but Jeff looks like shit here. Older or something.
The guy that stands at the front and does all the talking = the leader. Simples.

Unless it's obvious from other scenes that there's been a consensus.
I'm off to high-five some company spokesmen for leading the companies. They must be amazed to inherit a company by speaking for them.

REALLY?
Sure you aren't confused with Evolution?
You and Nightwing are both sort of right.
When they started, even though they were presented as being on equal footing, Shawn was the defacto leader due to his spot on the card compared to HHH. When Trips took over, he cut a promo talking about how Shawn "dropped the ball", and stated he was building the D-X army and introduced a returning (though yet to be renamed) X-Pac.
Shoot me for remembering that.

As to the topic at hand, I wish we could have seen a returning Skippy instead of Zeke. Yeah, Zeke fills the role and the need and gets the rub as such, but he wasn't on NXT or involved with the group in any way. Sheffield was a "core" member of Nexus, thus would have made more sense to me. I'm aware of the injury, and my point is that Mr. Jackson seems like he's going to be in some sort of fill-in role and replaced when Skip's foot is 100%. He seems sorta out of place, like when Booker T was trying to join the WWE's nWo (and I don't mean due to race, but more to the fact that the nWo, at it's base, was mostly about the Kliq).
I like the move, but it just sort of seems like it wasn't the original plan. I hope nothing but good comes from this.

All I'm gonna say it's about damn time SD had a good stable it's been long overdue sure there have been trios but it's not the same. I'm already enjoying this group more the than New Nexus and I feel their name is appropriate as their member that cross over were the most vital from the previous group. Tarver's addition is only inevtible and I wouldn't be suprised to see Skip Sheffield added as well plus Kaitlyn as she hasn't done anything as of late so see could be added as well and now that I think of it heh it's too bad Kaval didn't stick around maybe they could have used him.

Me too. Plus, he did a finisher on Raw once that was sort of slick. It was like a reverse snap powerslam.
I could see him becoming the member of Corre who does the dirty work that the group doesn't want to do. Like, I'd love for Corre to pretend to be a face group when Teddy Long is around, only to have Tarver as this sort of third party contractor who does all their dirty work.

Does The Corree need a woman as an entourage or a manager since they don't have a leader?
They won't be the modern DX, largely due to the fact that The Corre could be entertaining. They will likely put people over when needed as well.

So not Starcade.
Probably Halloween Havoc or Fall Brawl.
I can't believe the main event of Starrcade 1996 was a non-title match. Starrcade was usually WCW's biggest show of the year. Imagine the main event of WrestleMania being a one-on-one match featuring the champion but having it as a non-title match.

WWE creative has discussed reuniting Randy Orton and Edge as a tandem.
The duo is scheduled for a dark match at this Tuesday’s SmackDown! taping in Cincinnati, Ohio against WWE Champion The Miz and Dolph Ziggler.
Orton and Edge formed an alliance known as Rated-RKO in October 2006 to challenge the team of Triple H and Shawn Michaels. The group captured the World Tag Team Championship in November 2006 and officially disbanded in May 2007, after Edge moved to the SmackDown! brand.
I see this happening as both wrestlers are the vipers of their respected brands.
Together, they can go against heels, faces, and anyone else who attempts to take away their spotlight.
I'd mark out with this.
Your thoughts?

Nah, I don't think either need it right now. Plus they're on different shows. I'd prefer a short E&C reunion leading to a turn from one of them and a nice juicy feud. :y:

I'm sure we'll see them show up on the same show and work together -- both being main event faces -- but I don't think it should go beyond this. Neither needs it right now. Although, I would sorta mark out if Edge, Randy Orton, Christian, John Cena, R-Truth, John Morrison, Daniel Bryan & Darren Young and fought Nexus and The Corre at the same time. It'd fuck up too many storylines, and would be something Russo would write -- but I'd totally mark out for it after the headaches.

01-24-2011, 05:30 AM
Pretty much this. It actually wouldn't make sense for Wade Barrett to roll out the carpet for Tarver again. When John Cena beat him down to explain his injury, Wade Barrett said he was thinking of ways to get rid of him, anyway. But if Tarver wanted back in -- he could earn it by being an unofficial enforcer for The Corre. In some ways, it would help Tarver stand out -- he's so loathsome that the second most loathsome group in the WWE won't have him, but he still wants to get in. It could also be a wild-card for Barrett, if he seems to have issues with Tarver, but then at a big moment in time, Tarver is revealed to have been accepted by Barrett -- and aids him tremendously.
Just keep him in the nice clothes, and have him call himself "Mr. Tarver" until he officially rejoins the group. Tarver seems like the kind of guy who doesn't like you using his first name.

Justin Gabriel getting to be a part of this group is probably the best thing for his career right now. He's a) Getting the chance to prove that despite his size, he can play a psychotic heel and grow a beard; b) Working with main event guys and proving he can be a threat. When he does turn face, the WWE will know that he can play a heel, his finishing move can get over as something more than flash, and he's got so much story to him already.
I'm still on Heath Slater's side, although seeing him on SmackDown! made me realise what a guilty pleasure he is. The guy does look goofy, his hair does seem a little too straight, and it's a bit ridiculous him calling himself a One Man Rock Band -- but Matt Striker pointed out what it is about Slater later in the evening. It's his cunning. The guy stands around and seems like a doofus hick who probably couldn't count to ten, but he's not that -- the guy constantly displays an intelligence in the ring, often outsmarting the best in the business. It's this contrast that I love in Slater. He downplays his presence so he is underestimated. He doesn't die his hair, or cut it short, or wear a scowl all the time, or work on losing his accent, or get tights that aren't so sparkly. He seemingly embraces all these things, and surprises his opponent -- a deliberate underachiever. He's truly a Ginja Ninja.
I kinda sorta want him to get an entirely new finishing move, though. Something with a bit more "Oops, you're dead" quality. Anything. Even a submission move, since no one in The Corre seems to have one of those, and out of everybody in the group, it would seemingly fit Slater's built persona of being "cunning." I can just imagine people really booing a guy saying in a Virginian drawl: "That's right...you just tapped out to the chick from Wendy's."
Mr. Nerfect
01-24-2011, 05:43 AM
I'd rather see Orton and Triple H remain hating each other. If he does join a group, I want it to be a massive heel one later in the year -- bringing together Vince's "company men." Sort of like a combination between Evolution and the Corporation. Triple H would be the mouthpiece and the active mind behind the group, while Drew McIntyre would be the "future" or "chosen one." Maybe throw in CM Punk, which is what I thought they were teasing a while back when Punk and Undertaker were feuding, but that never went anywhere.

You know what, I've had a similar idea in the past. Not sure if I posted it anywhere. But I've always felt that is how John Cena should turn heel -- the man does everything for the company...why wouldn't he be in bed with Vince? Triple H is the guy's son-in-law. It's the perfect fit.

You don't have enough posts. Can't be fucked with tipsters this year anyway myself.
WWE Hall of Famer Bret "The Hitman" Hart was a guest on Sunday night's Live Audio Wrestling radio show on Sirius XM. Among the topics discussed was the announcement that Shawn Michaels will be joining him in the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania weekend in April. Visit TheFightNetwork.com to download an MP3 of Bret's appearance on the LAW show.
Hart says despite the long standing issues he and Shawn had in the past, they buried the hatchet last year when he returned to WWE television on January 4th and remain friends to this day. When asked whether he would induct Shawn into the Hall of Fame, Bret responded:
"I wouldn't have any problem inducting Shawn. The truth is Shawn was a great wrestler and I had a lot of great matches with him. I'm proud of some of the great memories I had with Shawn and I would be happy to induct him into the Hall of Fame if they asked me to," Hart told John Pollock of the Fight Network for an interview on Sunday's Live Audio Wrestling show.

reading about some of czw's follies. good stuff
http://www.czwfans.com/wiki/index.php/CZW_Follies
January 12, 2002 - Answering the Challenge
Bruno Sammartino was advertised to appear as a special guest at ringside and periodic in ring updates were made, unfortunately the final update announced that he had gotten lost on his way to the arena.
To this day Bruno never managed to find his way to the arena.
September 14, 2002 - Ultraviolent Freedom of Expression
CM Punk lost a dreadful match that failed to meet all expectations to the CZW Heavyweight Champion, Justice Pain. Unfortunately, this would be the top of the mountain for CM Punk as the rest of his career would pale in comparison to this lone CZW appearance. Today his whereabouts are unknown.
Sept. 13, 2003 - Redefined
In September of 2003 (in what was ultimately a counter-productive attempt to increase attendance at live events), the John Zandig/Messiah Heavyweight Title Match was billed as a LIVE-ONLY MAIN EVENT that "you HAVE to be there to see" since (for the first time in pro wrestling history) a CZW Main Event would NOT be taped for any type of home video release. They then slapped those same ticket-buying fans directly in the face by not even having an actual match, instead running what would lead to be an incredibly controversial angle that saw Zandig attacked/suspended high above the ring via metal hooks legitimately hooked through the skin of his back (no work, for real). This was not only awkward and weird to see in person, but also pour salt directly into the wounds of those that bought a ticket specifically to see this fucking massively hyped match (that was pretty much the Necro/Joe of the time). Dick-slapping those same fans in the face even further, the footage was then (of course) included on the DVD contrary to what the company had promoted. Many leading CZW history pundits point to this as a pivoting points in terms of overall fan sentiment and trust in the company.
March 6, 2004 - Overdrive
Zandig suffers concussion at the hands of Messiah after smashing his head on the ground when Messiah missed the table during a Sunset Flip-bomb from the apron to the outside. Teddy Hart (who had wrestled a spotfest with Petey Williams and Jack Evans earlier in the night) confronted Zandig post-match and proceeded to get the shit kicked out of him by a very loopy Zandig - the worst being giant gashes in the back of his head from a very awkward powerbomb through a board of nail strips.
Zandig was later yelled at by Teddy Hart's mother for slamming him onto a board of carpet strips.
October 14, 2006 - Last Team Standing
In a match against Drew Gulak and Andy Sumner, Nick Gage came to the ring with dinner he purchased from Burger King and happily ate his meal on the apron as the match was going on. One of his burgers was knocked into the crowd by Justice Pain during the match, infuriating a hungry Gage.
The H8 Club was scheduled to face off against the Kings of Wrestling in the Tag Team tournment finals, but Pain announced that Nick Gage had left the building. His replacement was Human Tornado, who had already lost a match in the tournament and had no prior history with Pain. Once Pain realized this, he walked out halfway through the match.

February 5th, 2000 - A Night of Main Events
The local fire marshall notified CZW that the building was not up to code to run shows, forcing CZW to switch venues. When spectators arrived to the building there was a stack of fliers that gave directions to Champs Arena and a show which started 3 hours late

An advertised " Fans supply the weapons battle royale " was set to take place, with the participants including such grappling greats as NATASHA, Jessie Drive, and The Rockin' Rebel. The fans in attendance went above and beyond and supplied some very creative, and SICK, weapons for this match up.
No weapons were used in this contest

September 9, 2000 - Cage of Death 2
Much like every other CZW show of its time, this show started late. Since CZW carefully planned this, the show was outdoors in the afternoon. By the time the main event COD match started, the sun had gone down. Fans were asked, with all the politeness we have come to expect from CZW, to pull their cars up to the ring area and use their headlights to illuminate the show.
Proving that even a blind squirrel will eventually find a nut, CZW's explosives actually worked!
While running around the ring and carrying a bundle of light tubes EdOMac tripped over a pile of brown chairs he couldn't see in the dark. The end result was a missed spot and a severely cut hand. Ed recieved medical attention consisting of a band-aid and a cold hot dog "for the swelling".
Someone forgot the disk containing all the entrance themes so most themes that day were made up of what ever CD's Chad Shaft had in his '87 Lincoln Towncar, which would later help light the show.
Pastor Jim and Johnny Kashmere got into a pre-show fight over Jon Dahmer being forced to job.
December 15, 2001 - Cage of Death 3
Doors are still closed HOURS after bell time, leaving a thousand plus fans outside in the freezing cold. People are angry and the gate is nearly broken down. No one comes outside to try to calm down the crowd.
Upon doors finally opening, tickets are a mess. Everything is GA whether you paid 40 dollars or just walked in. Veteran message board posters such as BarrMark and Sweet Nicky are in possession of pre-purchased tickets, but turned away since building is over-capacity (resourcefully bribing Atlas Security with $50 and able attend the show nonetheless). CZW is short on chairs and hours late.
The Dub proceeds to put on 11 matches with 34 workers, refusing to cut the unnecessary parts of the show and causing all the fans to be there until 2 a.m.
The show ends with a suicide attempt by the Sandman. Much to the chagrin of CZW Chairman John Zandig, he was unsuccessful in his attempts to fall 35 feet off the cage to his death.
After the show John Zandig, angered at a highly intoxicated Sandman, gets into a verbal argument with Tod Gordon who, in the weeks leading up to the show, assured Zandig that Sandman would be straight. He was not.
Justice Pain, upset by the Sandman ruining his big moment, nearly destroys the CZW Heavyweight Title after throwing it across the locker room.
Sandman's wife falls into the hole in the ring that Sandman "cut" into the ring and climbed out of.
Russo?
Prematch storyline included Z-Barr double crossing Lobo. 45 seconds later Z-Barr double crossed John Zandig. 60 seconds later John Zandig, who suspected Z-Barr would double cross him, revealed that Adam Flash was the one who double crossed Lobo into signing a contract. After the crowd let out the second collective "WTF?" of the night, the match started. These read like ultra violent fucked up WCW
May 10, 2003 - Then and Now
The event was promoted as the 10th year anniversary of wrestling in the CZW Arena.
Zandig stated that he had invited Tod Gordon and Paul Heyman to appear, noting that Gordon didn't want to show so "he didn't care" and that Heyman didn't return his calls so "he doesn't give a fuck about this place anymore." Zandig also said that he called Tommy Dreamer to make an appearance, Dreamer was unable to due to WWE commitments, but was honored he was asked.
CZW did not invite anyone to attend the show until the last week prior.
For the Fans Bring The Weapons main event between Messiah and Nate Hatred, three diehard CZW fans made weapons for a show for the first time. Only one gets brought out to the ring - a wooden cross with nails in it and "Messiah" written on it. Early in the match, with the cross propped in a corner, Messiah looks at the cross in disbelief as the three fans who made it stand on their chairs, popping that their weapon may actually be used. Messiah picks it up and promptly throws it out of the ring, never to be seen again.

July 10, 2004 - Best of the Best 4
During the show, a fan would venture outside to urinate in the CZW Arena parking lot, exposing his penis to a young girl who was attending a nearby block party. He would go on to tell her that his penis "tastes like candy". This would lead to lots of confusion later on as several people thought a wrestler competing on the event was the one who had exposed himself to the little girl. Some reports indicate that several people thought Zandig was the one who showed his penis when it turned out to be a big, creepy slob who was a fan that was a regular at shows. After Sonjay Dutt won the tournament, a commotion could be briefly seen on the DVD release where the fan in question was being arrested. Jack Evans and Wifebeater were also involved in an altercation with several people as a result of the confusion caused by people who thought Zandig flashed his penis to the little girl.
The opening round match (and biggest draws of the show) of Homicide vs Teddy Hart vs Trent Acid never took place. The week prior, Teddy Hart was, for some reason, wearing his wrestling attire out at a local bar. Upon seeing him in his "flashy attire", several woman approached Hart and started up a conversation, buying Teddy drinks. Unbeknownst to Hart, these women's boyfriends were nearby, witnessing the whole situation go down, and proceeded to take Teddy out back, and beat the hell out of him, ripping his gear in the process. This is all true, according to Teddy himself, (or at least that's what he told several people) and sent Jack Evans in his place.
Trent Acid also no-showed the tournament, for no apparent reason at all. Upon Zandig making the annoucement that "Trent's not here, we tried calling him , went to his house, we tried calling his girlfriend he's not here" (and replacing him with Chris Cash) many fans in attendence began chanting " HE O.D.'ED HE O.D.'ED HE O.D.'ED"
December 11, 2004 - Cage of Death 6
Mid-match a brawl between Sonjay Dutt and M-Dogg 20 spills over into the public restroom. M-Dogg throws Sonjay into a stall occupied by a fan, who shouts "HEY, you hit my fucking nuts."
June 11, 2005 - CZW/IWA Double Header
In between IWA-MS' "Something to Prove" and CZW's "Violent By Design," Pennsylvania state athletic commissioner Frank Talent's car was run into outside of the building, to which the line waiting for the doors to open responded to with chants of "Holy shit" and "You fucked up." After getting more heat than most matches in CZW, the woman driving the car decided to drive off without leaving her information, after numerous, random people in the line said it'd be totally cool.
During the IWA-MS portion of the double header, IWA-MS commentator Dave Prazak would ask CM Punk if he would be attending the CZW portion of the double header. CM Punk promptly replies with a reasonable but emphatic "Fuck no!"
OH CM Punk

December 9th, 2006 - Cage of Death 8
Most notable for being the Cage of Death with the longest cage set up (1 hour, 45 minutes). Reason being that the structure was made almost entirely out of wood, so the assembly crew could not practice setting it up before hand. Another contributing factor to the elongated set up was that each part of the cage had to be assembled one at a time, piece by piece, using only one nail gun, and one set of "cage of death assembly instructions". These instructions were neatly hand written on the back of an Oregon diner placemat (100% truth).
Around 1:30, with a restless crowd, the Cage of Death was finally ready to begin. What followed was one of the biggest series of botches and blunders since the main event of CZW: Take 1. Over the course of the next 10 minutes (the shortest COD to date), the live fans witnessed the original match of John Zandig vs. Lobo vs. Nick Gage, with the loser ending his career, some how get changed to include female pro wrestler LuFisto. This confused fans greatly, as LuFisto had absolutely zero connection, storyline wise, to 2 out of the 3 competitors In the ring. The feud she had with Nick Gage, which was started just 2 months prior, and was forgotten about the very next month, was so hastily put together that it left many fans in attendence curious as to why she was interjecting herself into the cage match at all.
Due to the cage being made almost entirely out of quickly assembled plywood, the structure was not that strong, and most certainly not sturdy enough to withstand the weight of the competitors bumps ( which weakened the cage with every bump). This, combined with the fact that he had gained 50 or so pounds since his last match-up, resulted in Lobo falling through the floor of the cage while walking on the outside wooden planks set up against the apron. Fans, upon seeing Lobo suddenly disappear out of the ring via the floor, were instantly confused when they saw him walking around the outside of the cage. The trouble would not end there for Lobo, as the cage door was assembled wrong, leading to a struggle to pull it open for a minute and a half before breaking the door open, with the help of security, and performing the matches final bump (a DVD off a scaffold onto a barbed wire net) and ending the carrer of John Zandig...until 3 months later when he main evented a barbed wire match after Necro Butcher missed his flight)

Although Wade talked about it on Raw, can see The Corre just being part of the bigger picture.
They're likely to set up a brawl, just have it where every member of both groups is there bar Punk and as everyones eliminated, leaving just Coore and Nexus members, have Punk come out, the ring divides, Punk and Barrett staredown and... Handshake. Just watching the entranceway.
After a couple of eliminations of people coming down, the entire lockerroom unloads to eliminate everyone, but Punk slips under the bottom rope and sneaks back in at the end. Cena wins at elimination chamber, Punk V Cena for the title.

The other way to do it is have Barret win the title at Elimination Chamber, Punk win the rumble and go after him and have the last match at Wrestlemania end in the footstomp of doom as the PPV closes with Nexus and Coore hugging and holding Punk up :shifty:

What would be kinda see though is Punk helps Barrett win the RR and then Punk helps Barrett win the title at EC, and then Punk wins the Raw title at WM, Barrett retains and you have Nexus on top on Raw and Corre on top on SD both as allies. The bigger picture would be revealed as a plan to control both show and that's why Barrett had the Nexus take out UT because he's a big dog on SD and without him it was easier to start a take over.
