Is that some PG version of Fuck, Marry Kill?

It's more like this one show that was on TLC. Basically they take a certain girl and show people a video of her and ask if they would Snog, Marry or Avoid her. Usually it's either Snog or Avoid because of the girls they use. The girls are shown the opinions/reactions and feel bad then agree to kind of a like a make-under. They show people the girl after her transformation and once again ask if they would Snog, Marry or Avoid her. I don't know if they have guys too as I've only seen two episodes.

What's your favorite cage match?

Specifics about the cage, the wrestlers, and the outcome would be greatly appreciated.

My Favorite Cage match would have to be the triple cage from WCW.

Not only did it have various top stars performing, but it was also depicted in the movie, Ready to Rumble around the same time.

The mere complication that it caused to get to the top cage was just DAUNTING and ELECTRIFYING!

My five favorite cage matches are:

Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit- RAW June 11, 2001

Triple H (then Hunter Hearst Helmsley) vs. Mankind- Summerslam 1997

Edge and Christian vs. The Hardy Boyz- Unforgiven 2000

Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart- Summerslam 1994

Edge vs. Matt Hardy- I am not a fan of Matt, but I consider this to be his best singles match next to his match on Smackdown with Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman at No Way Out 2003 and Shelton Benjamin at GAB 2008.

An honorable mention must be made for the Rock vs. Shamrock vs. Mankind at Breakdown 1998. It was a great match and the highlight other than Christian's debut.

Owen vs. Bret, Summerslam 1994
Angle vs. Benoit on Raw in 2001
Edge vs. Angle on Smackdown in 2002

Summerslam 1994 is one of the most solid PPVs I thought. I felt the cage match should have been the main event, but otherwise the event is pretty good.

That wasn't a match in the Punjabi Prison. It's funny because the very first Punjabi Prison match Khali's specialty and he wasn't even a part of it that was the PPV where everyone had "liver enzyme" The only two I can remember are Taker vs. Show and Batista vs. Khali. I agree with you on Al Snow vs. Boss Man. Actually Unforgiven 1999 aside from the Six Pack Challenge and IC Title match is pretty terrible.

I download it from a bay of peg-legged no-do-good-ers, put it on a USB stick and watch it on my ps3. Works out much cheaper than paying for sky sports when wrestling is the only 'sports' content I would watch it for.

I still try and get rumble, WM and summerslam on sky box office though, if funds allow.

Oh no, not at all. I could tell it wasn't supposed to be taken seriously by the whole cheesiness of the show. I know he was just playing his character and he was doing a good job at it.

It's just the "Hey, wear this checked shirt, skinny jeans and plimsolls and you'll be normal" kindof message they were throwing out there. Anyone who dresses like that, regardless of who they are, looks like a prat.

I mean, check out all of these guys walking around at the moment in combat boots with jeans tucked into them. By Ryan Clark

That was as far as I got into the 'article'.

He stole the news article from the PWTorch

Providing that The Undertaker is healthy enough to compete in a singles match at WrestleMania XXVII, there has been talk of "The Deadman" facing his opponent at WrestleMania X-Seven, Triple H.

Shawn Michaels as the bout's special guest referee has also been discussed. He recently stated that he reached a new contractual agreement with WWE, but would not be returning the ring as a wrestler. He did not, however, rule out special appearances or becoming an on-air character at some point.

Its got to be Barrett, somehow. It could end up being the whole "Corre" group. This would allow Taker to get the shit beat out of him the whole match, there by having to exert little effort himself, and still come out looking like a monster by winning the match.

Of course, this would probably kill the Corres momentum, but when has WWE ever cared about that?

Makes sense that after two solid HBK versus Undertaker WM performances in a row, Triple H, HBK's best buddy, would want a piece of that "legendary action status" as well, even it means doing the job.

Fine by me, just so long as it doesn't main event. One of the younger guys deserves the big spot this year, whether it's Miz or Del Rio or even Orton or Cena.

Still, I'm actually kind of interested in seeing a brutal Sheamus/HHH rematch in a Street Fight or something along those lines.

Aguakate
01-20-2011, 11:32 PM
NO ONE is going to end the streak, people...understand it one and for all.

Having HHH go against Undertaker is good because since Undertaker has been out injured, and by the time he comes back they would have to basically get an angle up and going quickly, and having Hunter be that person who goes against 'Taker ensures WWE that the angle will work, because they're 2 legends who have been around the block before.

Snowden
01-20-2011, 11:35 PM
If he comes back before WM, it would be patently silly for him to not go after Kane and/or Wade Barrett, the two men that put him out. With Kane, they can always write him out of the storyline and do some strange paranormal shit...but with Barrett and the then Nexus helping in his burial, Taker HAS to face Barrett.

Then next year at Mania, play up a broken and battered Taker going into his final match, win lose or draw, with the streak on the line against possibly his greatest opponent yet...John Cena.

TheAdamEvansFan
01-20-2011, 11:36 PM
I see what they would do.

They'd spin it off the Undertaker beating HBK, and triple h wanting revenge.

However, if TRIPLE H is coming back to do a run with Sheamus anytime soon, I don't see the logic in having him blurred as a face/heel.

It's just not logical.

I don't see Undertaker doing a singles match at WM either.

I see him tagging with Big Show vs The Corre.

I see trips going against Sheamus with a King of WWE type of hype.

Exactly. Not on the streak ending part, however.

Kane Knight says Sheamus vs Taker would be epic. Evidence enough that the word "epic" is grossly overused.

A match with Sheamus would be good. Probably great even. But epic? No.

People say the streak doesn't matter because they only recently put attention on it. It's true that the streak was never given much attention until around 4 or 5 years ago. That is irrelevant. What matters is that in those few years they have turned the streak into a monster. A monster that is bigger than the world titles. A monster too big to end, just for the sake of putting some up and comer over. Especially considering that anyone young guy who they would consider ending the streak, would be good enough to get over without it.

Even if taker retires with the streak intact, it's become too big to end with a match against someone like Barret or Sheamus. Given how often Taker gets injured these days, and how limited his schedule is, any given wrestlemania could be his last. If the matches against Michaels did one thing, they set a precident. Any wrestlemania match with taker, has to be epic. Not the internet's definition of epic. Truly epic.

That epic atmosphere of the matches; That air around the matches that suggested "This is one you will remember all the way to your grave", had a lot to do with the fact that taker's opponent was just as revered and respected as he was. I don't think they will ever top the Michaels matches, but you can at least get that epic feeling with a guy like Triple H, or Sting.

Sheamus and Barrett could have the match of their lives with Taker, but it won't capture the feel of the previous two matches.

You need someone in the ring who can actually wrestle unlike Triple H or Cena.

Steroid looking dudes against Undertaker for the streak at Wrestlemania doesn't entice me to watch the match at all.

It hurt half of his in ring ability so he went back to being a joker with DX. :-)

NO NO NO.

Because this match will obviously be the 'big match' of the night. All the hype, build and promotion will go into this match, because it's the streak and because it's Triple H.

Triple H is no Shawn Michaels, and has a record of going on last after a big match and disapointing (see: 18 and 25). Plus, this match will end up being probably close to 40 minutes long. Both men are way past their primes and have had their Wrestlemania Moments in the past. It's time to start sharing some of that Wrestlemania spotlight.

I actually enjoyed New Blood Rising. The ladder match opener, Lance Storm vs. Mike Awesome (The Canadian Rules match with the Mountie as the enforcer), The Triple Threat was decent, and Booker T vs. Jeff Jarrett was a good title match. the 4 corners match wasn't that bad. The finish with Chavo as the ref was wierd, but I didn't mind the match. Sting vs. Demon was 30 seconds so it wasn't a huge deal and the Judy Bagwell one...well yeah that was bad haha.

Agreed. I know WCW was churning out some decent PPVs in 1999. Uncensored 1999, Spring Stampeded 1999, and Slamboree 1999 are three of my all time favorites. I think my favorite is Slamboree 1998. The card is: Chris Benoit vs. Finlay-Television Championship
Lex Luger vs. Brian Adams
Cruiserweight Battle Royal-Jericho does the introductions which are hilarious
Chris Jericho vs. Dean Malenko-Cruiserweight Championship
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Raven-Cage Match
Eddie Guerrero vs. The Ultimo Dragon
Goldberg vs. Saturn-US Championship
Bret Hart vs. Macho Man Randy Savage
Sting and The Giant vs. The Outsideres-Tag Team Championship

I also enjoy Superbrawl 1998, Halloween Havoc 1998 (except for Hogan-Warrior, which is funny because one of my all time favorite matches is the Wrestlemania 6 main event), Fall Brawl 1999, Mayhem 1999 (Bret wins the title), Souled Out 2000, Spring Stampede 2000(tournament for the US/Tag Titles), Slamboree 2000, Greed (the last PPV is really good and shows that WCW was starting to turn around in terms of matches and stars being pushed, but unforunately was gone in two weeks).

That was a good one with Rey and Eddie, it was at Halloween Havoc 97. I think Rey was in the Cruiserweight Title match at Halloween Havoc 96.

I just hate seeing the cage wobble or fall apart like it did when Paul Wright tore it apart.

I liked how WCWs cage went around the ring which gave some room for outside action inside the CAGE.

WCW's Thundercage and Triple Cage bottom tiers wobbled worse than any WWE cage I have seen. And the Hell in a Cell, which I know alot of people describe the Thundercage as the Hell in A Cell precursor, is alot sturdier than both the Thundercage and the Triple Cage.

My favorite WCW Cage matches...

WarGames (7/4/87 - 5/17/92)
Tower Of Doom (The Great American Bash, 7/10/88)
Sting and Ric Flair vs. The Great Muta and Terry Funk (Halloween Havoc, 10/28/89)
Sting, Dustin Rhodes, and Cactus Jack vs. Big Van Vader, Barry Windham, and Paul Orndorff (Clash Of The Champions, 1/13/93)
Sting, Brian Pillman, and Dustin Rhodes vs. Rick Rude, Steve Austin, and Paul Orndorff (SuperBrawl IV, 2/20/94)
Ric Flair vs. Vader (SuperBrawl IV, 2/20/94)

The rest really sucked...

Anyways, I really liked the idea of HHH v Taker a few years back as it would be different to the match from WMX7 due to Taker's character. However, I'm not sure it would come off very well now due to the limitations Taker's (and perhaps HHH's) injuries have caused.

Also, this whole "they didn't even mention the streak until the last 4-5 years" is bogus. I watched WM13 the other night and they mentioned Taker being undefeated at Mania then - 14 years ago. Granted the massive hype is more recent but by no means "the last few years".

What do you think about Wade Barretts new group?

Are they missing anything or anybody?

I'm interested in seeing the music and the merchandise since there is no leader, I figure they will all use the same music?

The Corre consists of Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Ezekiel Jackson, and possibly a Michael Tarver.

Discuss.

Just need Tarver in there and it will be mint. They'll all use the same awesome music and although the logo is pretty good, not sure how it will translate to t-shirt land.

Also loving Barrett's character. Admitting he made mistakes with Nexus and is rectifying that by not technically "leading" The Corre and giving Gabriel the shot against the WHC instead of himself.

Speaking of that match, I said it in the SD thread, but I love that Gabriel got a load of offense in and held his own against Edge before Corre were involved. It was a rookie mistake from the top that brought Edge back into it. Love Gabriels style.

Jackson is a beast and this will raise his stock. Needed a change, the squashing face wasn't really working.
