As much as we all belittle Impact Wrestling I will admit they do put on one hell of a house show.

When all the bullshit story lines are ignored and they just get to the wrestling they have the fans eating out of their hands.

If they could find a way to harness what they do on the road and put it on tv they'd have a pretty good show on their hands.

Hey, people who pay more attention to TNA than I do. So is Crimson's "undefeated" streak the shittiest such streak ever like I feel it is? (I put undefeated in quotations because I know he's lost by DQ and/or countout but they're still hyping that he hasn't been pinned or submitted.)

Seems like he's been around for a pretty long time now and he's got this impressive streak and he's still floating the mid-card with nothing to show for it. Doesn't make sense. The DQ and tag losses only make it more lame.

Also, from what I've seen, he doesn't really come off as the next big thing or even particularly great.

Why John Cena beat Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar was told he would be losing to John Cena at Extreme Rules several weeks back. Lesnar has made it clear that he’s about the money, not the ego, and if they want him to lose, he has no problem with it as long as they play fair with him.

According to sources, it was made clear to Cena and Lesnar that their feud would be a one-match program. Officials felt that Lesnar could leave at any time and they needed their top guy getting the win first time out to make sure that it happened.

WWE has already used 5 of Lesnar’s limited dates in the first month of his contract so expect him to be used sparingly if at all over the next few months. With that said, Lesnar vs. Triple H for SummerSlam is in the works.

Source: WON

I guess this probably rules out Cena vs Lesnar at Mania if they never had plans for it to begin with. Also means the WWE is going to work a lot harder to stretch Lesnar to Mania than with the Rock since they knew which dates the Rock was available from his movie work.

CSL
05-03-2012, 04:16 PM
dunno, doesn't seem too hard to work around a 30 date maximum from now to Mania, it's about 6 months on, 4 months off. If they bring him back around the end of July for SummerSlam, a couple of months away at the end of the year and they're pretty much sorted

Gerard

Thats what i mean though, Lawler hasnt done it in any WWE matches in years, his finish as of the last lot of years is the fist drop off the middile turnbuckle. He always goes for the piledriver but it consistantly gets reversed, i cant remember the last time he actually hit it, id guess you're talking 5 years plus.

Considering the amount of manouveres they do allow its suprising that that style of piledriver is still outlawed. The sitout tombstone as we all know can be dodgy, but the variation of piledriver in that vid should be safe for just about any wrestler to deliver with some practice.

CSL
05-03-2012, 04:37 PM
but with how many guys they have that aren't "technically proficient"/full on greenhorns etc, it's no surprise. I only mention the 30 years part because of you mentioning "fine at a basketball game". If there's anybody on the face of the earth I'd trust piledrive me on a basketball court, it'd be Lawler. In fact, I'd rather take a piledriver from King on a basketball court than a bunch of WWE guys in a wrestling ring.

And it's not so much piledrivers outlawed as it is head drops in general I think. I can't think of anything off the top of my head (so I could be wrong) that guys are permitted to/do use on a regular basis more dangerous than a piledriver

I figured they would just spread the appearances over the 12 months without any major downtime. Like how he missed the Raw in London. They could have him for 2 out of 4 Raw episodes leading into the PPV. The rest could be pre-recorded backstage interviews/altercation, promos via satellite, etc.

That way they can feature him on every PPV and he can help the buyrate.

Guess they figure it's better to have him for the full schedule in the build to 6-7 PPVs that the full load.

I think he only has 25 dates left now. At least in the Rock's case, the WWE didn't really have to plan out the dates since they knew which dates the Rock was free to use (live or satellite) and he was only used in one feud.

Triple H vs Lesnar is probably going to eat a chunk of the dates left since no way that ends after 1 match/ppv.

WWE probably won't be as bad as TNA was with RVD where they wasted almost all his dates early on and then had to take the title off of him since he couldn't defend it without using up more dates.

once that momentum is gone and both guys are trying too hard to "get it back", everything can go to shit very easily. Guys stop communicating, start rushing etc and it all just falls apart. I'd put money on Swagger not giving him a cue to go for the 2nd attempt because it was live on RAW and he was rushing. Literally can take a split second of mistiming for something like that to happen, especially something like a gutwrench, that relies on timing/fluid motion/momentum etc.

even here you can see the mistiming in the slow motion bit, doesn't look like he sandbags him, seems Stevie's still dipping downwards to spring off and go up when Giant is starting to lift him. Split-second of mistiming and that's how it turns out. If there's even a bit of momentum from Stevie in the right direction, given the fact Show still got him up, he probably soars up and it looks "how it's supposed to". Crazy strength

Lawler wrestles indy matches on a weekly basis that have nothing to do with WWE.

Damn, was on WWE.com and was looking at HBK's profile under the Hall of Fame. It finally just sunk into me that Shawn Michaels will likely never wrestle again and is absolutely done as anything close to a regular character. Feeling old, confused and sad.

Much like Vince McMahon, I'm sure.

Looking back, I'm saddened that neither of Christian's title reigns were as epic as we all would have hoped. But, at the end of the day, the record books will say 'two-time World Champion', and his feud with Orton was, in my opinion, the best feud of the year.

And to be fair, Orton didn't 'need' those title wins, but he busted his ass equally in that feud with Christian. Both men rose to the challenge and gave us an interesting storyline that gave us four consecutive singles matches at PPV events, without getting boring.

Cons:
- Both of his title reigns were pretty weak.

Pros:
- He's a two-time World Champion.
- His first title win was the best moment of the year.
- Best feud of the year.
- Became a legit 'contender' in WWE's eyes.
- Orton 'won over' a lot of the fans who thought he was becoming stale (not related to Christian, but still a result).

I didn't 'blow up' like most people did, but I was saddened then, as I am now. But overall, I'm happy with what came of everything that transpired. :y:

And hopefully Christian will be back in the title hunt when he returns.

Look, wasn't saying Barrett is shit sight unseen. Just saying being awesome at promos and acting awesome in movies are two different things.

And yet, even as bad as Bats is, he would be automatically legitimised by Terrance fucking Howard!

Have they ever came out with a Streak shirt for Taker? If not then isn't it weird that they do that now plus come out with a DVD about the Streak? Either this is the last or the next match will break it.

20-0 sounds nice and neat. It's a milestone. A 19-0 DVD just doesn't look or sound the same.

I think it does probably end next year though.

"Kill yourself": Wrestler CM Punk's chilling response to British fan in row over gay marriage

The wrestler delivered the message to a WWE fan who disagreed with his same-sex marriage views

http://www.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article823342.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/CM+Punk
Twitter controversy: CM Punk

Screengrab

CM Punk, one of the world's most popular wrestlers, delivered a chilling retort to a British WWE fan who disagreed with his views on same-sex marriage this evening, tweeting: "Kill yourself".
Having expressed his disgust at the perceived likelihood that the Amendment 1 ballot measure in North Carolina's ban on gay marriage will pass in the US state, the WWE champion continued a Twitter dialogue on the subject with other users throughout the day.
He tweeted: "Same sex marriage should be legal. The fact that it's illegal is embarrassing."
Twitter follower EzeeKay of Walsall in the West Midlands disagreed, writing:"Man was meant for woman, and even the thought of homo's make me sick."
Punk retweeted this message and added "Kill yourself" in response.
In another reply, the 33-year-old wrestler advised a fan who disagreed with him to "drink bleach."
He tweeted @super_herochic: "no. You're an idiot for comparing a hole in a wall or a dog to a human being. Drink bleach. That's natural (selection)."
Punk, real name Philip Brooks, has built a realistic persona as part of WWE programming as a audacious and liberal spokesman for the people, unafraid to stand up against the promotion's more elaborate displays of corporate wealth.
Twitter spats are not a new experience for Punk, following his war of words with singer Chris Brown in February where he tweeted: "I would like @chrisbrown fight somebody that can defend themselves."
The publicly-traded WWE currently endorses an anti-bullying campaign alongside entertainment lobbying The Creative Coalition called 'Be A Star', for which Punk has appeared as a company representative.
Responding to a user that brought up the campaign after his remarks to EezeKay, the wrestler tweeted: "hey moron, don't try to hide behind the be a star campaign. I am a star. I'm fighting bigots here. Zero tolerance."
The social network is seen as a central part of wrestling's storyline development, with frequent onscreen reminders as to what WWE aspects are trending during their flagship programming's transmission.
In contrast to the sentiments expressed today to his 870,000-plus followers, Punk has previously included homophobic slurs in his performance.

Footage shot by a ringside fan in Adelaide, Australia from July last year during a touring WWE event shows the wrestler arguing with a fan and telling them that they have a "homo" haircut.

Watched Wrestling with Shadows last night for the first time in a long while.. really good stuff. You can really tell how much Bret really took to heart his fans and his image.

Other classic moments include Bret telling his wife he didn't have to worry about Earl screwing him and Bret's wife yelling at HHH backstage after the screwjob while he maintains his innocence and Road Warrior Animal is just standing there awkwardly.

Details on Paul Heyman’s return

As seen on last night’s Raw Supershow from Greensboro, Paul Heyman made his return to WWE as Brock Lesnar’s legal representative in the storylines. Heyman announced that Lesnar had quit WWE and that the company owes him millions of dollars. Lesnar is still under contract to WWE, for those wondering.

Heyman is also working under a deal with WWE. Plans are in place to have Heyman in the company through August. A Lesnar vs. Triple H grudge match is expected for SummerSlam where Heyman will be featured with Lesnar. Heyman will most likely disappear from WWE TV following SummerSlam.

Until then, he will be a main part of the Lesnar storyline and will be making semi-regular appearances for WWE going forward. Heyman can be used on TV to represent Lesnar while Lesnar has to be kept away due to having a limited number of dates on his contract.

As far as why he came back, it was described as a chance for him to do something new on a limited basis, get his name out, work with some people he cares for and make some money. Heyman’s WWE return was put together in the last week and was not something that has been planned all along.
