Got the numbers from another place but the switch to 3 hours almost has killed off 50% of their average viewer base for the show.

In terms of Ryback, his real big push starts around the same time since July is when he started to move away from just squashing jobbers and showing up more on RAW.

7/23 was raw 1000...its really only been about 1 million off..

WTF am I watching?

At work, I'm flipping channels looking for AMC to catch the rerun of Walking Dead (cable company is different here, and there is no station list, plus all the stations recievable are in line numerically; cable and OTA stations are all in line in sequence...

Anyway, there's some indy fed on TV. Some dude who looks like a Golddust knockoff with his face painted like Chapel is wrestling another guy who looks like Husky Harris wearing MVP's skin and half of his attire. Apparently, Rhino wrestles this fed.

In fact, looking back at it from typing this, he's getting jumped by whoever the hell these other people are.

Kinda reminds me of the first time I happened across an ECW show. Just the venue is way bigger. The ECW show had to take CEILING TILES out of wherever that place was so the guys could actually maneuver in the ring. Still kinda charming, all things considered.

Interesting. Looks like Jake Roberts is doing DDP's yoga program. Roberts is also living with DDP for like 6 to 8 weeks to drop weight for a final run in wrestling. Good for him trying to get healthy again. Jake is going to be under constant drug testing throughout the program and DDP says the program is over if he messes up on it.

Awesome. After his drunk appearances here a few years back, it will be great to see him clear his name. Dude is all kinda fucked up, but his matches were all excellent. Good for him trying to get healthy again. Jake is going to be under constant drug testing throughout the program and DDP says the program is over if he messes up on it.

According to Newsday, Jake “The Snake” Roberts moved into one of DDP’s Atlanta area homes today to begin a strict training routine, with the goal being Roberts going on one last run in the wrestling business. DDP had noted that Roberts got up to 302 pounds at one point and he has been working with him to get him into better shape. The training is going to be filmed as part of a documentary.

One stipulation is Roberts must do DDPYOGA for 6 to 8 weeks. The story says filming and training began for Roberts in Texas, who already lost 20 pounds in the first 3 weeks, and a total of 35 pounds thus far. Another stipulation is that Roberts had to be drug tested while living in the house, and if he fails one test, he is gone. DDP added the following about Roberts and his goals…

“Bottom line is, everybody wants the comeback story. Everybody wants to see Jake look good, and feel good, and not be a mess anymore. That would be great. I think there are a lot of really positive things that can come out of this if Jake really does it.”

Thought about making a thread for this, but I didn't really want to open the door to the ridiculousness of that would ensue in a "Fantasy book Survivor Series" thread, but if anybody is interested, I'd like to present Survivor Series if I were handed the book.

WORLD TITLE REMATCH - Big Show (c) vs. Sheamus

Pretty self-explanatory. Sheamus cashes in his rematch clause for the World Title, and these two try to top their fantastic HiaC match.

Team Foley (Ryback, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, and Team Hell No) vs. Team Punk (CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, The Miz, and the Rhodes Scholars)

Already booked on Raw.

Team Cena (John Cena, Christian, Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, and R-Truth) vs. Team Ziggler (Dolph Ziggler, Antonio Cesaro, Tensai, and the Primetime Players)

Vickie and Ziggler continue to prod Cena, resulting in this match. Cena brings in his friend/enemy/friend Truth, his little buddy Mysterio, Rey's tag partner, and a returning Christian. Ziggler recruits the US Champion to continue his feud with Truth, PTP to counter the lucha team, and Tensai because he also exists.

Team Brodus (Brodus Clay, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, and Team Cobro) vs. Team Barrett (Wade Barrett, David Otunga, and 3MB)

Pretty simple to set up. Wade picks up a cheap win over Clay on a random SD episode with help from 3MB. Santino and Ryder make the save to continue their feud. Barrett brings his former Nexus lieutenant Otunga on board, while Brodus gives some love to the exciting tandem of Gabriel and Kidd.

Team AJ (AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, Layla, and the Funkadactyls) vs. Team Vickie (Eve, Natalya, Alicia Fox, Aksana, and Tamina)

Alternatively, move Alicia to the face team (since she changes week-to-week anyway) and replace Naomi and Cameron with her and Rosa and put Vickie herself in the match.

You can put in a throwaway tag match or something to round out the card, and some old-school SS team interviews. Something on the preshow with the Usos vs. Hunico and Camacho vs. Epico and Primo could be fun.

Dolph Vs. Cena is probably going to be a one-on-one match or a mixed tag with Vickie and AJ in the mix. Dolph needs this match more than a Survivor Series match. He's gotta go one-on-one with the face of the WWE and hold his own. He's gotta do what nobody else can do better than him show off and steal the show.

I don't see them doing this much Survivor Series Elimination matches. In fact since it's the main event I don't see them any other one than Punk and Foley's.

Great card though.

I had a pretty good solution for the end of the HIAC match which wouldn't make Ryback lose his winning streak and have Punk retain the belt.

- Ryback pins CM Punk in the "Hell in a Cell" match and becomes the new WWE Champion. The internet goes mental.

- Ryback comes out on RAW as the new WWE Champion.

- Paul Heyman comes out and shows a footage from last night's match where one of Punk's leg was below the bottom rope.

- Vickie Guerrero comes out and strips Ryback off the WWE Championship and gives it back to CM Punk.

- Hence, CM Punk is still the WWE Champion and Ryback's win streak is intact.

Had a thought: what if Little Jimmy were real, like that show Space Cases with Catalina and Suzee?

Something happens where R-Truth gets off-camera injured, and some new guy comes in calling himself Jimmy and talks to an imaginary "Little Killings". I don't mean "it's R-Truth in a mask" either, or the Blue Blazer angle...just a totally different guy who claims he's talking to Truth: a short white guy with a sideways ballcap. And he has a cartoon picture of Truth on HIS T-Shirt. Then R-Truth comes back, and this guy "disappears" again. Whenever Truth is there in the arena, this guy isn't, and vice-versa.

And THEY become the tag team champions.

Yes, I know this was stupid. Carry on.

Definitely. I have his book and it is one of the best wrestling autobiographies out there. To date, I have read Foley's first book, Rock, Flair, HBK and Regal's. He can STILL outshine anyone in the ring today, period.

It would be cool if Team Hell No dissolved (down the line) and Brian was able to get into a short program with Regal. I believe those two could put on one helluva program.

Even those Ryback lost at WWE Hell in a Cell, WWE plans to push him as the new main event babyface monster in the future.

The original plan for Hell in a Cell was to have Ryback pin CM Punk clean and win the WWE title. He would hold the belt through Survivor Series and lose in a multi-man gimmick match at TLC where he wouldn't have to be pinned or submitted. Vince McMahon settled on this plan on October 25, just three days before the PPV.

Then the next day, he decided to keep the belt on CM Punk because Punk's long title reign was more important than Ryback's undefeated streak, which isn't necessary to play him up as a monster. WWE has spent so much time focusing on Punk's title reign that felt it would be better to keep the belt on him until the Royal Rumble so his match with The Rock will have higher stakes.

Once the decision was made to keep the belt on Punk, WWE then tried to come up with ways for Ryback to lose without looking weak. WWE considered several options before going with crooked referee Brad Maddox, including run-ins from Brock Lesnar, Big Show, Mark Henry and even Vince McMahon himself.

Sources: WrestlingObserver & Rajah.

#1-norm-fan
11-01-2012, 02:58 PM
It was a perfect decision. As much as I love Ryback, ending Punk's reign just to have him win it back and start at 0 a month later would have taken a shitload away from his character and would have put a big damper on the Rock match.

And I'm glad they went with the crooked ref because Ryback getting pinned for a legit 1-2-3, even by interference, would have really fucked up his character too. This way, there's still the thought that Ryback is incapable of being pinned and there's still the question of "How much would you need to hurt this man to actually accomplish that?"

Emperor Smeat
11-01-2012, 03:12 PM
Yeah although a Mark Henry or Lesnar run-in would have really great as well especially since it would help Ryback's image if he could go toe-to-toe or even possibly lift one of them for the Shell Shock during a potential match.

A Big Show run-in would have been odd and same for Vince.

CRANKY VINCE NEWS!

So first this...

The ‘CrankyVince’ Twitter Account Identity Revealed?

An account on Twitter spoofing Vince McMahon that also leaks confidential WWE information on occasion (located @CrankyVince) cryptically suggested in a message Thursday that a male wrestler has asked for his release from the sports-entertainment organization.

“GODDAMN. ANOTHER PUSSY BOY WANTS HIS RELEASE. THESE UNGRATEFUL FUCKS. I’LL RUIN THEM. ALL OF THEM. FUCK YOU,” the message states.

Back in June, the “Cranky Vince” account cryptically remarked that Alberto Del Rio had threatened to quit the sports-entertainment organization, with the story being confirmed as legitimate days later by sources. More recently, on October 15, the account tweeted on an idea broached by WWE’s creative team days earlier for Vince McMahon to face CM Punk at Hell in a Cell.

“A GUY LIKE ME COULD BE IN A HELL IN A CELL. WHY NOT ME?” the account stated. “SURE! WHY NOT DO HELL IN A CELL? ENOUGH GAGA IN A CAGE WITH PUNK TO GET A MATCH OUT OF ME. ALL THE OTHER OPTIONS CAN CRAWL UP MY ASS & DIE.”

A WWE source confirmed the idea as legitimate two days later, but noted that “it was killed within 30 minutes.”

The account has drawn alarming concern from WWE officials since last year, who believe it is being administered by an employee within proximity of McMahon or a former employee with close ties to organization due to the amount of sensitive information being released. It was coincidentally shut down on the day it was revealed that Del Rio had threatened to quit WWE, but reinstated after it was labeled as a parody account and having no affiliation to the sports-entertainment organization.

It would appear that the account is being administered by Andrew Goldstein, a former creative writer who extensively worked alongside McMahon in 2006 and 2007 (he has recounted the WWE chief’s numerous quirks and unwritten rules in interviews over the past two years, such as don’t sneeze or yawn in front of him, and to pour peanuts from the peanut jar rather that place your hands inside of it). After news broke on the night of October 8 that Brian Gewirtz had been removed as the head writer of RAW, a barrage of messages touting the decision were posted on the “Cranky Vince” account. While this was going on, Goldstein posted a “Cranky Vince” style message on his Twitter account (located @AngeGold) while commenting on RAW events reading, “I HAVEN’T HAD THIS MUCH FUN FIRING A JEWISH WRITER SINCE THE FIRST 6 TIMES I FIRED @HEYMANHUSTLE. KOSHER WOOD.” The message was immediately deleted, and was not posted on the “Cranky Vince” account.

Here is a link to Twitter user catching the mishap and questioning whether the identity of “Cranky Vince” had been revealed. Furthermore, Goldstein plugged the parody account two times that night.

and then this...

Former WWE Writer Says He's Not 'Cranky Vince'

We had reported earlier this afternoon that it appeared that former WWE creative writer Andrew Goldstein was running the "Cranky Vince" Twitter account. We noted that when news broke earlier last month that Brian Gewirtz had been removed as head writer of RAW, Goldstein posted a "Cranky Vince"-ish message on his Twitter account, stating, "I HAVEN'T HAD THIS MUCH FUN FIRING A JEWISH WRITER SINCE THE FIRST 6 TIMES I FIRED @HEYMANHUSTLE. KOSHER WOOD." Goldstein immediately deleted the message, and the message was not posted on the "Cranky Vince" account.

Goldstein sent me an email about the report earlier today, stating that he was not "Cranky Vince." He also posted the following on his Twitter about the report: "The good people at @WrestlingInc should check their sources before running with a news story. Sad to say I am not @CrankyVince... Sad to say I am neither funny enough or well connected enough to be @CrankyVince. Tweet in question was work to gain followers... It worked, gained over 100 followers just by tweeting in all caps and quickly deleting... Secondly, I havent had power, wifi, water, or cell service since Monday so the recent tweets in question couldn't have been me"

I would like to apologize to Andrew, and we have edited the original article.

lol. Posted a Cranky Vince-like tweet and then deleted it "just to gain followers" and "hasn't had power, wifi, water or cell service since Monday." thus he couldn't have tweeted.

A Big Show run-in would have been odd and same for Vince.

As long as it ended with a fast count and Ryback getting up afterwards as if he probably would have kicked out from a legit 3 count. A run in on top of the ref swerve might have been too much going on though.

It probably will be one-on-one, but they could always do Cena vs. Ziggler at TLC. And put Ziggler over, since a loss would not hurt Cena, and a win would greatly help Ziggler. Have Dolph then make his goal to enter the Royal Rumble, win it and become the WWE Champion at WrestleMania -- and to then use his MITB title shot to unify the titles. He wouldn't win the Rumble (that will probably be Cena), but you could have it come down to Cena and Ziggler in a nice spot.

#1-norm-fan
11-02-2012, 04:15 AM
Yeah, they can save the one on one match for TLC. No need for it to happen at Survivior Series. A card full of traditional Survivor Series matches would be cool to see.

Import tax?

Fuck that shit. :n:

The worst part is that the actual tax is only £1.80 odds but the charge you £10 for the priviledge of telling you that. Bump it and say it never arrived, usually send it back to you marked as a gift with a value of £0, that used to work at other sites at least.

Although The Big Show beat Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship at Hell in a Cell, it is being reported by F4WOnline.com that Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler will dominate the World Championship picture in 2013. Survivor Series is the current plan to blow off Big Show vs. Sheamus, and that will open the door for Ziggler, who is still holding the briefcase, to cash in shortly after.

Big Show and Sheamus are still being rumored to be used in the main event, but it looks like Orton and Ziggler will begin a feud soon. There was a short feud between the two before Orton was suspended earlier this year, and officials are high on this program carrying Smackdown into Wrestlemania.

I'm torn. While I think if they push Dolph right, Ziggler vs Orton could have a GREAT feud over the World Title, Big Show is such s fucking good, credible choice for champion and I love the feel of Sheamus being the top face who just can't take down the monster. Obviously that feud has to end at some point but I don't know if I like the idea of both men putting on remarkable showings and raising the credibility of the title only for both to be phased out and two new guys to take over.

Though Ziggler overcoming Orton while Sheamus and Big Show finish their feud in some sort of gimmick match without the title and then Sheamus going after Ziggler could be fun. I can see Sheamus challenging Ziggler for the title after all that as a pretty great WrestleMania match.

Also, WWE should totally be supporting Movember this month. It is only fair.

Plus, how sweet would it be to see by the end of the month, half of the roster have sweet mustaches?

You could start whole angles over mustaches. Like Cody Rhodes is embarrassed that he can't grow a proper mustache, and begins attacking everybody with a good mustache.

Or you could even use it to drive a John Cena heel turn. Cena refuses to grow a mustache because he insists that his face must always be smooth, and all the other faces are like "Yo John, don't be a dick. Just grow a mustache" and Cena would be all "NEVERRRRRR" and snap and become a badass submission machine.

Or they could go the "heels have facial hair" route and have Cena fear that growing a moustache would "do something bad" to him, and he starts acting increasingly more heelish as his moustache grows, before being back to normal on December 1st.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton would be a great choice for a World Heavyweight Title match, since they are arguably the two best workers consistently featured on SmackDown. One could make a case for Sheamus getting up there, but his character leaves a little to be desired.

This I agree with. A heel turn would really refresh Ryder's character and give him some focus. Have him turn on Santino in frustration after a loss, and have him stop pandering to the masses.

He does because he's the most over and legit "superstar" on the brand and anytime he holds the title, it raises the prestige tenfold.

He doesn't because he can't be trusted with two strikes against him.

So... it's a shitty situation.

Mr. Nerfect
11-03-2012, 10:20 PM
Isn't Randy Orton's profile high enough that if he gets fired without the World Title it's still going to make a splash? Plus, the World Heavyweight Title never closes shows any more. I don't think it would be that out of the question to put the World Title on him. I don't think it's right at the moment, though. Big Show is a fine choice at the moment.

#1-norm-fan
11-03-2012, 10:35 PM
Of course it would still make a splash still. But if you're trying to build up the title, giving it to a guy who is one fuck up from instantly being gone and fucking up your plans is probably not the best idea. That's likely why he hasn't been involved in anything too huge since coming back. Only a minor throwaway feud with Del Rio.

I agree that Show is more than suitable and makes the issue a moot point anyway.

I am a traditional fan. I would love to see a WWE Championship or a World Heavyweight Championship match close the show (preferably with the Royal Rumble winner).

But since that is very unlikely, I would love to see them as "one of the main events" of the night.

In its ten plus years of existence, the World Heavyweight Championship has attained lesser importance than other bouts at Wrestlemania on more than one or two occasions.

1. Triple H (c) versus Booker T [Match #6 - Wrestlemania XIX]

2. Batista (c) versus Undertaker [Match #4 - Wrestlemania 23]

3. Chris Jericho (c) versus Edge [Match #7 - Wrestlemania XXVI]

4. Edge (c) versus Alberto Del Rio [Match #1 - Wrestlemania XXVII]

5. Daniel Bryan (c) versus Sheamus [Match #1 - Wrestlemania XXVIII]

Read some stuff from the dirtsheets about the WWE Network recently and thought some of it was pretty interesting.

Supposedly the WWE is toying with the idea of moving Smackdown to the Network when it launches if they or ScyFy end up not extending the current contract (ends right around the time the Network launches).

Also the Network needs about 12 million subscribers which Vince truly believes he has from his "core" audience alone and then another 10-40 million as casual/swing viewers. He hired a survey company get the samplings and surveys needed to come to that conclusion.
