Oh, and maybe they can bring Rob Van Dam back for Money in the Bank this year. I'm not sure what his plans are, but prior to signing with TNA, he was open to one-night deals with the WWE. You can do a thing where all former Money in the Bank Winners are given priority entry into the match, and RVD comes back as a former winner of the match to see if he can still be "The Whole Damn Show." That'd move the match up to nine people, which still wouldn't be the most crowded one ever. But RVD? In a Ladder Match? In Philly? Come on.
He's coming back at MITB!

Wouldn't this be a double pin?
Emperor Smeat
06-17-2013, 04:24 PM
Only if Miz didn't break the hold before 3.
Best thing about what Curtis did was holding down Barrett's arms so he couldn't tap out.

06-17-2013, 05:08 PM
So in essence, the Miz is an idiot for breaking the hold.
Volare
06-17-2013, 05:18 PM
No, he broke the hold too late to interupt the pin attempt. If he would've let go sooner he could've stopped Axel. Instead he torqued on the knees therefore wasn't paying attention to Barrett being pinned.
[/KAYFABE]
If a double pin would indeed have been a draw, then the title would not have changed hands. Possibly. It's pretty unclear how that would have worked. If that is the case, then trying to stop Axel was indeed Miz's best course of action.
When was the last double fall situation in a triple threat? Was it Triple H/Jericho/Benoit from, like, 2001?

I think it was one that involved Edge, Benoit, and Triple H. Benoit had Edge in the Crossface. Edge rolled Benoit onto his shoulders. He tapped at right at the count of three. That led to a vacated title that Triple H eventually regained.
The one you may be thinking of was Austin/Jericho/Benoit, where Austin tapped to the Crossface Walls stereo submission. That led to a match restart. This finish is closest to that situation.
In either event, Miz is an idiot for not at the very least keeping an eye on the situation.

Wait is everyone talking about the double pin as if Miz was the co-winner or also getting pinned at the same time?
I was looking at it as the Miz being pinned as well since his shoulders are also down and refs usually start the count when that's done (main reason why Flair usually held the Figure Four from his side). He was getting pinned by proxy from Axel.
Had Barrett tapped at 3 while being pinned, then Miz would have been a co-winner.
Corporate CockSnogger

Daniel Bryan suffered a legitimate injury during his match with Randy Orton Monday night on Raw, according to the Wrestling Observer, which is why the match was stopped.
The report notes that Bryan was supposed to win the match over Orton, which would have continued the story of Bryan building a resume of big victories. (Earlier in the night, Bryan floated the idea of eventually challenging for the WWE Title in a scripted promo.)
WWE handled the change of plans by saying Bryan suffered a stinger to his neck/shoulder, which was a legitimate injury. To cover for Bryan not winning the match, WWE followed through on a "wrestler health" story that authority figure Triple H stopped the match out of concern for Bryan's apparent injury. This led to a spontaneous blow-up between Bryan and Hunter to keep Bryan strong as a babyface because he's fought through numerous injuries in his career.
The injury situation appeared to begin Sunday night in Chicago. At the Payback PPV, Bryan sold a shoulder injury off-camera following his Tag Title match loss. According to our correspondent, Kevin, Bryan left the ring favoring his right shoulder accompanied by a referee. He was the only wrestler to exit behind the sound booth and not through the Gorilla position.
When Bryan returned to the back, he was "irate" according to a source and complained to Triple H that the match should not have been stopped. The two got into a loud argument over it. The argument went down in the gorilla position with a lot of eyeballs on it and people were shocked because Bryan is generally soft spoken and good natured and he was standing up to one of the most powerful men in the company.
Bryan complained that he's worked all over the world and has worked hurt and knows when he can still go and when he cannot. Triple H's argument was that they were protecting Bryan and they don't want anyone working hurt. Obviously, the company sees something major in Bryan and wants him ready for his push.
The two eventually apologized to each other.

Considering the sudden nature of the match ending with even Orton not knowing what was happening, it probably was a real argument turned into a kayfabe incident.
Seems like either Bryan was unaware of what the WWE was doing (ex. sudden rewrite, panicking, etc) or he thought it was making him look a lot weaker for no reason.

Keep seeing posted everywhere that the script for the last Raw was re-written at lunchtime because Vince wasn't happy, so he took advice from Heyman and Zeb who basically booked the show as a 3 man team with a little word here and there from Steph.
Can't help but think it's people wanting to believe, purely because it was a great 3 hours of TV.

Some recent dirtsheet stuff all from the Wrestling Observer:
Van Dam’s deal was described to us as similar to that of Chris Jericho. The idea is that he’ll be put in a similar position, since he’s starting roughly the time Jericho is leaving. We didn’t get clarified how long it was, other than it’s a several month deal where he’ll work TVs and PPVs, and some house shows, but not a full schedule.
On the Fandango concussion front, there is more concern on this one than some of the others because apparently Curtis Hussey has suffered a few documented concussions already.
Jacob Hager(Swagger), currently out after hand surgery, is scheduled for trial on 6/25 from his 2/19 arrest for a DUI in Gulfport, MS, shortly after a Smackdown taping in Biloxi. Swagger is facing fines of $437 for marijuana possession, $188 for speeding (he was going something like 45 in a 35, so it’s not like it was excessive speeding), and $1,300 for a first DUI offense, as well as a maximum two days in jail and potentially being ordered to attend classes.
Mike Bennett was told to hang tight but hasn’t been given a start date for Florida. He’ll be working for ROH until he starts up.
really happy for Mike Bennett, he could do as well as any of the other "indy guys" that have been signed from Punk onwards

Originally, the plan in WWE was for Daniel Bryan to face John Cena for the WWE Championship at both the upcoming Money In The Bank and SummerSlam pay-per-views. According to reports, however, it seems as though the tentative plan currently is for Bryan to win a briefcase at Money In The Bank and then announce that he is going to cash it in to challenge Cena at SummerSlam.
Speaking of Cena, there was talk of doing one final match with Ryback so Cena could get a clean pinfall victory over him, but those plans were nixed.

So this is why Mordecai was sent packing:
"If I had been more prepared for Mordecai it [would] have been phenomenal. I was, like, 300 pounds and swollen. I think it hindered me a lot because my body frame was not able to handle that weight. They told me, 'We're no longer going ahead with your character.' I had got into a fight in a bar a few weeks before it started and put a kid in the hospital. I was in lawsuits and they had to protect themselves. They sent me back to OVW to deal with it. I had to deal with it."

In all seriousness, Juan, I pretty much only watch cat videos and pro wrestling on YouTube, so I get some really good "recommendations" from YouTube.

I typed in "main eventer" in WWE.com's search engine and got Paul Orndorff. "Useless" turns up lots of articles about Big Show. "Overrated" led me to Brooklyn Brawler.
