Kind of want Johnny Curtis to win the 2014 Royal Rumble and challenge for the World Heavyweight Title as an obscure babyface against a heel Chris Jericho.

That isn't his real name, so no. Though they didn't even use his real name. Just constantly referred to him as Fandango.

Jericho could hire a private detective to research just who is behind Fandango, blowing the character wide open for their inevitable WrestleMania clash. Curtis could technically remain a heel for the start of the feud, and Jericho technically remain a face, but Jericho would be the antagonist in the feud, kind of implying a double-turn will eventually take place.

At Mania, Curtis manages to roll-up Jericho like he did at WrestleMania the year before and proves that he CAN defeat Jericho again. Jericho does a spot where he hands the World Title to Curtis, claps and applauds, but then kicks him right between the nuts and walks away, much like he did to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XIX.

This sets up Curtis vs. Jericho pretty nicely for an Extreme Rules rematch, where Curtis would get the clean win and cement himself as Mr. World Heavyweight Champion.

I've been thinking of ways the WWE could expand Fandango's character in recent weeks. For example, I'd love it if they revealed via one of the announcers that Fandango was present when Pat Patterson unified the North American Championship with the South American Championship and became the first Intercontinental Champion. Fandango was in Rio for that match because his parents were world famous dancers and performed at the after-show. The loser of the match, the former South American Champion -- defeated, drunk and disorderly at the show, having missed his ticket to stardom -- made a pass at Fandango's mother in front of his father and the young man himself. Fandango's father, always a proud and passionate man, took a swing at the former South American Champion. The enraged South American Champion was enraged at this, but was escorted from the premises. Fandango then realized that he has a fire in himself too, and always wanted to be Intercontinental Champion from that point.

You can use Fandango's parents being world class dancers to explain how he got all around the world as a young man, and began to learn about all different sorts of movement -- both dance and in physical competition. While they performed in Japan while Fandango was a teenager, maybe they can say he studied under a great jiu-jitsu master, or something like that.

A worked biography/autobiography by Fandango would be an incredible read.

The sight of the Cenation leader’s injured arm certainly raised concerns for WWE medical staff, who taped The Champ’s elbow up before his main-event bout with Randy Orton & Daniel Bryan against The Shield, but questions about Cena’s health now extend beyond tonight’s show. With SummerSlam just two weeks away and Daniel Bryan gaining momentum in his pursuit of Cena’s title, how, if at all, will this injury come back to haunt The Champ as the bout approaches? As a master of submissions, Daniel Bryan certainly has a big target now; a well-placed elbow-hyperextending hold could cut the match short before it ever truly begins and take Cena’s reign with it. Even if Cena refuses to submit, a WWE official may rule Cena unable to continue if his elbow is snapped.

They're teasing the Randy Orton cash-in, but I think they'd be better off to do some sort of angle where Orton is found beaten up backstage, making a cash-in impossible, and prompting discussion as to who was behind the attack -- perhaps one of the competitors in the match? Maybe one of the dominant factions running around?

Vince screws Bryan in the title match and Cena leaves with Vince. On RAW, Vince, live via satellite, announces that there is now a 220lbs weight limit for the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships. At SummerSlam, Christian has won the World Heavyweight Title, and on SmackDown, Vince comes out to strip Christian of the belt. Captain Charisma cuts a promo talking about all the years he's busted his ass creating moments for Vince, and he's got the respect of everybody in this industry besides him. Christian says he earned the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam and Vince is devaluing the championship by taking it from him. Vince just wants him to hand it over. Christian says that if he can't be the World or WWE Champion, then what does it matter if he gets fired? He then drills Vince with the World Title belt, knocking him senseless. Christian leaves the belt in the ring and walks to the back, deciding at the last second to turn around, return to the ring and Spear Vince McMahon.

This all leads to Triple H backing the smaller guys like Daniel Bryan, Christian and CM Punk against Vince McMahon's more prototypical Superstars.

They're riding the Daniel Bryan hot streak right now. Just letting Bryan win and take the title away should be enough. He's not gonna replace Cena as the face of the company from this one match regardless of the outcome. So just be happy with the win and down the road if Bryan's still blowing up and it gets time, Bryan can "take the torch" so to speak.

Honestly, I feel like they could have a great match where Bryan just won't quit and end it with Bryan reversing the STF or the AA to win the title and people would be upset because Bryan "didn't look dominant enough" and "should have made Cena tap out". That's silly. He'd cleanly beat the face of the company. That's a big deal and does amazing things for his character.

I wouldn't say I flip out when I see bad spelling, but the things like "then" and "than" makes me want to correct them but I usually just leave it.

I think some people "flip out" at people over their spelling and bad grammar in general because they expect most adults to have a really good grasp at it, as most have been learning it on pretty much a daily basis at school since they were around four of five years old.

Yeah, I'm slowly beginning to go off of WWEShop. Mostly because of the shipping. It's extortionate, but it's the only way I can get WWE merchandise.

I still think a Stephanie McMahon vs. Paige feud would be fucking epic for the Divas Division. If they want to appeal to little girls, having Paige break the traditional "Diva mold" while still being sexy as hell could be a great way to do it.

Some recent stuff from the Wrestling Observer:

The original WrestleMania main event for next year (this was proposed in booking, but had never been agreed to) where HHH would be the heel in his feud with Vince McMahon, leading Vince to bring back Austin in a battle for full control of the company appears to be off the books ... At one point the progression of the storyline was that at SummerSlam, Vince, Stephanie and HHH would end up uniting, and then later in the year, they’d split when HHH would go heel. Just heard that everything has changed but based on television, the idea of a slow build for a battle for control at Mania still seems to be the direction. Everything on television is building to Vince as the heel but the original direction was HHH as the heel by the time Mania rolled around.

A name we’ve heard bandied about for the Hall of Fame this year is Steve Williams. Williams would probably get the endorsement of Jim Ross and Gerald Brisco, and they do have a good deal of tape of him in the new Mid South collection as well as from WCW and some WWE. What is working against him is that he’s not alive, and he was never a major star in WWE.

They’ve changed directions on SummerSlam. It started when Show wasn’t cleared before Raw was written so they went with a show where instead of shooting The Shield angle to set up Show & Henry, the Shield was just there to be the foils to build up the three-way top program with Orton, Bryan and Cena. It should be noted that Show was cleared on 8/5, but Raw and Smackdown for the week were already written by that time. So they may do something with him next week on Raw in Sacramento, but the undercard for SummerSlam has been revamped over the past week ... There’s probably room for one, or possibly two matches, and The Shield, Orton, RVD, Henry, Ryback and Show are not accounted for.

Sheamus, who the company had attempted to groom for the position of top star on the non-Cena tour, will be out of action four to six months due to needing surgery on his left shoulder for a torn labrum ... Originally, he thought the serious injury was to his leg, which was at first badly swollen and with visible nasty bruising. He had continued to work and was on tour of South Africa with his leg healing but his shoulder getting worse. His range of motion was getting more limited while on tour and he had sharp pain radiating down his arm, according to an article on the WWE web site. When he was working out on 8/5 in Green Bay, prior to the Raw taping, he said he experienced sharp pain in his shoulder and told company doctors. He had an MRI done on his left shoulder and both Dr. Chris Amann and Dr. Michael Samson reviewed the results and suggested surgery. He’ll be undergoing arthroscopic surgery early next week, which, surprisingly enough, will be the first time he’s ever had any surgery in his life. That fact is remarkable for a 35 year old who has been wrestling 11 years, with the last four years working among the most dates of any company performer.

We noted before that WWE officials were wanting to do Steve Austin vs. Triple H with Austin backing Vince McMahon in a fight for control of the company for next year's WrestleMania XXX main event. That idea was proposed in creative but had never been agreed to. The Wrestling Observer reports that word now is that it's off the books. No word yet on exactly why the idea was nixed but the idea of The Rock in Austin's role has been talked about as well.

The latest word is that the pre-show match might be Cesaro vs. RVD

While it's successful reality TV so far, every single solitary person within wrestling who has commented on the show to me—including, I should note, people who were involved in the production of it—hate the show passionately. The only person in WWE who has spoken out has been Dolph Ziggler. Most of the wrestlers were overseas last week so they didn't see episode one, but many of them saw episode two and thought it was awful. There is the feeling that you don't speak out about it because it's the Bellas' vehicle, and Nikki is dating Cena, and if it gets back to Cena that's the end of your push. Dolph either didn't get the memo or didn't care.

The word we got from Raw Monday is that Eva Marie is PASSIONATELY hated. Which means she'll probably be pushed hard on the main roster very soon.

It was noted that the only person who arguably came off worse than Eva was Ariane, AKA Cameron. But one WWE source said, "Cameron is an idiot, but everyone in the company already knows that so it's nothing new."

The one thing that was real on the show was the tears by Eva Marie when she met with Steph at the end. Obviously the storyline where she lied about her dance background in the hopes that she'd be chosen to be Fandango's permanent dancer was fake from start to finish. But when they started putting the show together they got word that while Stephanie was always super busy on Mondays (she has kids so she's usually only around on TV days) she'd make time if they could come up with a good storyline for the show. So I don't know exactly what they told Eva, but she went into the office with the idea that she'd done something really bad and that Stephanie was pissed at her. Steph was in character the entire time but Eva didn't know that, which was why we got the real tears on television. There were wrestlers who were laughing at the storyline, since it's damn near impossible to get any time with Stephanie at all on Monday but it was played up on Total Divas like it was no problem.

lol i guess i was looking at it from a strictly kayfabe standpoint. Sandow was quite upset when he got his briefcase back from Rhodes and screamed "NO MY CONTRACT!" like it was supposed to mean something. Guess not.
