Sean 'Diddy' Combs to perform at WrestleMania

STAMFORD, Conn. — Three-time Grammy Award winner Sean “Diddy” Combs will perform live April 7 at WrestleMania 29 in front of more than 70,000 fans in attendance at MetLife Stadium with millions watching worldwide on pay-per-view.

Combs will also co-host the Superstars for Sandy Relief party with WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon as part of the WrestleMania Week festivities and serve as an ambassador for WWE’s Be a STAR anti-bullying initiative.

“WrestleMania is one of the biggest spectacles in the world and I’m looking forward to performing in front of millions on April 7,” Combs said. “I’ve always been a fan of WWE and I’m excited to support these two important causes, Superstars for Sandy Relief and the Be a STAR anti-bullying initiative.”

Is it just me or does it seem like Curt Hennig could have had an incredible face run at some point to go along with his incredible heel run(s)? It seems like when he beat Ric Flair in that "Loser Leaves WWF" match in '93, he was incredibly likable. At least for me as a 9 year old kid who helped make Hogan a star. I loved the guy. Then he turned heel on Marc Mero after that mini-feud with Hunter and never looked back. Seemed like there was some missed opportunity there.

As a bit of a game, I sometimes like to predict the following year's WrestleMania card, just to see how much changes between now and then. Accuracy isn't so much the point as just a fun look into the future.

A lot of people are already expecting John Cena vs. The Undertaker and CM Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, but what match could you see The Rock working at WrestleMania XXX? Could he work against a younger roster member, or a guy that is pretty much already established? A younger roster member might end up established by the time Mania rolls around.

I was thinking that Alberto Del Rio vs. The Rock could be pretty golden though. Del Rio has got everything you need to be a top player, and he could no doubt make The Rock look good. He's also been involved in the World Heavyweight Championship picture at every WrestleMania he's competed at. The Rock winning the 2014 Royal Rumble and choosing to face Del Rio could be good stuff.

Their catchphrases also go pretty well together -- "My name is Alberto Del Rioooooooooo..." "It doesn't matter what your name is!"

The Rock and John Cena wrestle the match you expect them to. Actually, they don't -- I have a feeling that Cena, in both reality and in the sense of his kayfabe character, is going to step things up and pull out things we've never seen before. Perhaps we see Cena come off the top rope with a splash, maybe he pulls out a Spear, and maybe we even see him dip into the move set of other wrestlers. It'd send the internet into a frenzy if we saw Cena pull out stuff from Japan.

Anyway, eventually Cena manages to get like a third Attitude Adjustment on The Rock and pins him. Or maybe even it's the STF that forces The Rock to tap out. Either way, Cena is an eleven-time WWE Champion. Some fans are cheering, some fans are booing (because that's still cool and all). Cena celebrates with his new WWE Championship as The Rock gets up, wipes the sweat from his stunned faced, and then gets to his feet as he and Cena lock eyes. Cena's music stops. The fans start cheering, chanting "Rocky!" or "Cena sucks!" or "Cena!" or "One More Match!" or whatever they want. Cena extends his hand to The People's Champion. The Rock looks around to the people. Some cheer. Some boo. The Rock, with his typical Rock intensity starts to psyche himself up. "They're gonna fight!" - JBL

The Rock then puts his hand in Cena's and hugs the WWE Champion in a "Thanks for the WrestleMania moment" fashion. The fans that wanted to see them fight boo, the ones that wanted to see them shake hands cheer. The Rock goes to leave and give Cena his moment, Cena then stops The Rock and tells him to pose on the top rope for his fans. The Rock proceeds to think about it and then does so. Cena poses as well and they compare cheers. Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler & JBL talk about how great this WrestleMania has been when BAM! Ambrose, Reigns & Rollins -- having defeated Randy Orton, Sheamus & Big Show earlier in the evening -- are suddenly in the ring, beating the crap out of Cena and Rock.

The fans would be in a frenzy. The fans that hated the "bro moment" are happy that there are some bad-asses there kicking up a storm; the fans that loved it are absolutely shocked their heroes' moment has been ruined. The Shield lays out both Cena and Rock with the Triple Powerbomb. Dean Ambrose then picks up the WWE Championship and admires himself in it. The three men pose, having stolen the WrestleMania moment (it's about them making a name for themselves), when a selection of the babyface roster (Big Show, Daniel Bryan, Kane, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Zack Ryder, The Uso's, even Curt Hawkins, etc.) run down to the ring, directed by Brad Maddox and accompanied by Booker T.

The face roster stands in the ring as Ambrose, Reigns & Rollins jump through the crowd -- Ambrose still holding the WWE Championship. WrestleMania closes with the babyfaces standing in the ring tending to the two fallen mega-stars, getting their own moment, as the villains run off with the rightful possession of John Cena.

How does that not direct people to watch RAW the following night? None of the content of Rock vs. Cena changes -- you get the exact same match -- but you also have a story for both of them, and a reason for the fans to fork down money to see two of the biggest babyfaces in WWE history team up to take on The Shield at Extreme Rules in an all-out war. And there the numbers advantage can lead to The Shield getting the victory over Cena & Rock, beating them because Cena & Rock want to prove that they don't need anyone else -- The Shield have become "their problem."

Randy Orton could turn heel during the Six-Man Tag Team Match and get the hell out of town before Sheamus & Big Show get their hands on him. The Shield would win that match, and that betrayal by Orton would have allowed The Shield to get away and crash the main event. So even without aligning with The Shield, Orton is still partially responsible for what happens to The Rock and Cena after the main event if it goes down.

If you did have Cena beat The Rock, you could have The Rock go to the back and be the only one attacked. You could have Cena celebrating in the ring as it happens and rush to the back to chase The Shield off. The attack could even happen off-camera and be a WWE.com exclusive feature of "What happened after WrestleMania went off the air?" which would be a huge gamble, but seems like something the WWE could do to try and get their online and exclusive features going. The Rock could take time off while Cena promises us that he would be back in time for Extreme Rules.

Jerry Lawler has opened a wrestling museum in Memphis

(Memphis) Move over Elvis, there’s another king setting up shop in Memphis.

Jerry “The King” Lawler is opening a wrestling museum with all the memories and things he’s collected over his career.

The original idea was for Lawler to bring some of his wrestling memorabilia and put it on display at Wynn Automotive, but it turned into a full-fledged museum.

“In May of 1988, I won the AWA World Heavy Weight Championship,” said Lawler, as he showed News Channel 3 his championship belt.

He has collected a lot of memories during his 43 years as the king of professional wrestling, like taking on Actor Andy Kaufman in the ring.

“That was probably the highlight of my career and maybe one of the most famous matches in wrestling history,” said Lawler.

There is plenty more to see, like the king’s ring costumes, as well as articles, even some of Lawler’s published artwork. Lawler says it’s a place for people who grew up watching Memphis wrestling.

“This is just the spot where some people can come and relieve some of the memories,” he said. “We have classic matches going on the TV here all the time and will see a lot of things that will bring back a lot of memories to them.”

The wrestling museum is free of charge to walk through it.

There are things like autographed pictures available for sale.

As people come from all over the world for one king, they can now carve out some time for another.

“There is a lot of stuff, you could spend a lot of time in here, so if you’re really a wrestling fan or a Jerry Lawler fan, there is a lot to see,” Lawler said.
The museum, located at 1831 Getwell Road, will have its grand opening Saturday, March 30th at 9:00am.

Lawler will be at the museum from 1:00p-4:00p.

After that, the museum will be open Monday through Saturday 9:00a to 6:00p.

It’s that time of year again guys! First and foremost, I just want to take this time to thank every single one of you for your continued support of TPWW.net. As corny as it sounds, we honestly wouldn’t be where we are today without you guys. No matter how some of you feel with your comments, most of you continue to check back in on a daily basis and continue supporting us. We owe all of our success to you!

With that being said, things are going to get very, VERY busy over the next few weeks. You’ve likely already noticed that the amount of news posted on a daily basis has been picking up as of late and that will continue as we head towards and beyond WrestleMania 29. We expect double and even triple the amount of news that you’re used to seeing each day.

As we head into next week, WWE will be opening up their talents to mainstream media outlets for interviews, etc. After the TV tapings on Monday and Tuesday, the entire WWE roster will head towards New York City and New Jersey instead of flying home as they normally do. On Thursday of next week, the WrestleMania 29 AXXESS festivities will begin. With that being said, news will be at an all-time yearly high. We’ll have TONS of backstage news, interview recaps, AXXESS reports, etc. We’ve got numerous fans who will be in New York City and New Jersey who will be sending in live reports. He comes out to take on some guy who's name I don't know to this very minute...And Haas gets the mic and tells everyone in the audience that he's given it all to wrestling and all his friends have died (naming his brother Russ, Umaga, and Lance Cade) and this is his last match. We all are shocked, obviously, and a "Thank You Charlie!" chant starts up. And he starts crying. He says he can't wipe his ass without it hurting and turning 40 sucks. He basically tells Kevin Kelly to go fuck himself about ten times then the match begins. He's yelling a Kevin Kelly the entire time and said he was going to beat the hepatitis out of Nigel McGuinness, and that drew some noise from us... And Haas loses to this guy with a little crucifix pinning combo.



So he's lying there on the mat crying and he gets up to more "Thank You Charlie!" He asks for a mic again. The ROH crew refuses, as some of the guys near the curtain are waving for him to come back and don't do all this. They absolutely won't give him the mic. So my buddy yells out for everyone to shut up so we can hear him talk and luckily they do. He thanks us all and tells us how much he loves us, and how he's ready to be a good father and husband. He then hops out of the ring and gives Kevin Kelly the finger very agressively and walks out.

I just left "War" in Asheville, NC. After returning from the restroom I heard a loud yelling from behind the curtain. It was Haas yelling at Grizzly. After a lot of "F bombs." Haas hit Grizzly Redwood in the face. Steen helped walk Redwood to the bathroom and hes was bleeding from his face.(Keep in mind this was all behind the side of the curtain while a match was going on.) Later Haas came out and started "shooting". He said something about Delirious booking and many other things. He also yelled at Kevin Kelly a few times during the match and said something like, "Fuck Nigel" towards Kevin Kelly during a headlock. After the match there was a guy waving him back but he didn't want to get out of the ring and started shooting again and then thanked the fans.
