I was thinking more along the lines of a romantic comedy with some of the divas, some of the actor looking types (not Mark Henry or Big Show).

Or a PG Film with people like Santino, and some divas instead of a big dude like Triple H.

I think using WWE Divas would be legitly cool.

The Rock could do any genre of film.

I just want a serious film, like Legendary but a little more realistic... Sorry Cena Fans... He just didn't fit the role to me, but I enjoyed the plot.

Cena is fit for action films, use people like Miz, Jericho, Christian, etc, for comedies, drama, and romance.

WWE films should at least attempt a group action film starring multiple wrestlers. It's worth a shot and just to see where it stands with the audience.

I can't see it being any less successful than what they've done, and it could lead to them going in a new direction with these things.

The typical WWE film is sticking a superstar around somewhat famous actors and actresses. The Condemned had Vinnie Jones, Knucklehead had Malora Hardin from the Office, Legendary had Danny Glover, Patricia Clarkson and the girl who plays Becca Moody on Califonication and Chaperone had Lisa Simpson and the crazy guy from Grounded for Life/Superbad.

The next movie (That's what I am) has Randy Orton in it, but in a pretty small role. The movie got a good review and has been seen in a few film festivals. If this movie is a success I think that this will be the standard you will see WWE movies in the future. The superstars will have a role in it, but established stars will be in the leading role.

I don't think you will see The Rock in a WWE films movie again. He might wrestle at WrestleMania, but he won't lend his good name to a sinking ship like WWE Films.

TheAdamEvansFan
04-10-2011, 10:21 PM
I completely disagree. I think one of the reasons he returned was to bring his expertise and name recognition to WWE Films.

I think Dwayne and Freddie Prince Jr can revamp WWE Films.

Films like Chaperone and Knucklehead were doomed to fail due to poor character/shitty storylines.

I thought Legendary was great but Cena is too built for that role.

It doesn't take much for an audience to get into a movie, just a realistic plot that they can pretend to be true, not a stupid spoof.

TheAdamEvansFan
04-10-2011, 10:23 PM
If The Rock wants to stick around the WWE Audience but not make his welcome run dry, what better way then WWE Films?

Where he has the experience, name recognition, and audience to bring something to the table.

I not only see it happening soon, I'm absolutely positive it's a part of the rekindled relationship between WWE and The Rock.

Damian Rey

Isn't Ed Harris on that Randy Orton project? If so, he lends instant credibility to that film on name recognition alone. This is a legitimate Hollywood A lister who has been apart of some great, well recieved films over the last handful of years.

What WWE needs to do is stop going the cliche movie route, and start actually looking for ideas that aren't getting greenlit elsewhere for whatever reasons. If they really want to thrive, they need to find scripts of solid to good quality, and if they'd like to put one of their stars in it, fine, but it has to be something that plays to their strength.

They keep doing cliche action, comedy and drama films, and none of them are well recieved. Not one. You would think with all the films they've pumped out, one of them would be decent. I think the best one critically might have been See No Evil.

I don't think the Rock would lose credibility in doing a WWE film at this point. As long as the film is solid, and isn't a weekend only release only to be on DVD a week after, I'm sure he'd bite.

FourFifty
04-10-2011, 11:35 PM
Hasn't The Rock done a live action non-cult following Disney flick, for God's sake? The Rock could say he's doing a film for Orion right now and he won't lose what credibility he has as an actor.

TheAdamEvansFan

Planet 51/Toothfairy were great films for children.

If The Rock did a childrens movie with Cena for WWE Films, it could be huge (if it was animated) as I don't see Cena doing too well in a childrens film due to his build.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dwayne, Sin Cara, Mysterio, Santino, Kofi Kingston, Booker T, and Del Rio in some type of Gang related film, drama/suspense that portrays them as two rival gangs, the blacks vs the hispanics with a group of rogue cops that have been given special authority to take them out (Steve Austin, Cena, Undertaker, Miz, etc)

We’ve now learned some more EXCLUSIVE details on the live horse incident at WrestleMania 28. I never thought I’d write that!! (Apparently a horse raped Vickie Guerrero backstage)

According to our source, the horse was a ‘Clydesdale’. Wikipedia says “The Clydesdale is a breed of draft horse derived from the farm horses of Clydesdale, Scotland, and named after that region.” Our source says Triple H couldn’t guide the massive animal away from the trap door, which had a casket (this would hold The Undertaker). That would then rise to the top of the stage during the entrances. According to the source, the horse fell through the stage with Triple H riding it and crushed the casket during the rehearsal. ‘Taker was not inside at the time.

The arena was immediately cleared of staff members and rehearsal was canceled. We’ve been told that the horse was stuck for hours and almost had to be euthanized due to the extreme stress it had suffered. WWE crew members also had to dismantle the stage so the horse could be freed.

WWE management then made the call that it was not worth the risk and plans were scrapped.

More shortly.

Thanks to “Tie Guy” for his help with this report.

--------------------------------------------------------------

According to a source for Adam Evans, Peta has been informed about the incident and is in talks with WWE representatives to have a Animal Tribute at next weeks Raw and to also have appropriate sessions with wrestlers about the careful handling of animals while performing as entertainers.

Representatives were somewhat pleased when they heard that the Wrestlemania plans were scrapped, but didn't enjoy the horse being stuck in a casket in rehearsel.

TMZ has picked up on this incident due to Adam Evans sending footage to The Onion.

Stay Tuned.

WOW.

Yes.

And I thought Legendary fit well with the audience it was going after, except for the fact that Cena doesn't look like a normal actor for that type of film. A smaller wrestler would have been better, like Rock.

See No Evil was a decent horror film. I don't know what the fuck anyone has to complain about, unless they are just useless trolls that haven't even watched it.

WWE should have an evil vegan/vegetarian as a way to drive food sales at the shows. A heel saying don't eat a hot dog will make people want to eat them even more.

They should have a scrappy underdog who eats tofu, but because he lacks the strength from beef, he never comes out on top. He should actually do the opposite of the Hulk-Up, and get fatigued mid-match.

....I'm totally not stealing this from Super Meat Boy's response to PETA.

They might as well just all dress up as various commercial characters instead. Henry can be the Kool-Aid man, Santino can be Mr. Peanut, Bourne can be the Little Ceaser's guy, and Danielson can be the Brawny paper towel guy. Or just have Danielson be the guy wondering why the fuck he got stuck in a stable with 3 jobbers.

I Flair flopped the other night while drunk out of my mind. It was so funny they asked me to do it again on video...I did it so hard I banged my face off the ground as hard as one possibly could. I spent the next hour drunkenly stumbling around thinking I had a concussion. Video evidence may get posted if I can get my friend to send it to me.

Flair flop trumps about any other comedy spot of all time in wrestling.

It's not really a spoiler as such, but I know that SmackDown hasn't aired in the North America yet.

But can someone post the Edge tribute video from SmackDown please?

I tried watching SmackDown on YouTube and the WWE have removed all the videos that feature it and Edge's speech but have allowed for the rest of SmackDown to stay on YouTube.

I know that there's some sort of video as I was at a student bar tonight with friends and the bar was showing SmackDown on the TV's but obviously, the sound wasn't on.

The Flair Flop is one of the greatest spots in the history of entertainment!

That's right, Schivone!

My personal favorite is when he did it in conjunction with the "10 count" head-to-the-turnbuckle spot, where after his opponent stops and backs away, (and the fans stop counting, since they reached 10) he bashes his own head about 3-5 more times, turns around, and then Flair Flops in the center of the ring.

Pure gold.

They had to retape part of the segment when Teddy Long came out and told Del Rio there was going to be a 20 man battle royal. He tripped up on some words. They kept Teddy's theme on and Del Rio was just standing there in the ring. Teddy went to the back, there was about 30 seconds of dead time, then Teddy came back out and repeated the lines.

I figured it would be impossible, but I had a hard time reading

Sin Cara tried to impress his peers backstage a recent WWE event by claiming that many of his notable victories in Mexico were shoots.

as saying "My wins were totally improvised", but more "My wins were totally legit"

So thanks for clearing that up :)

lol, it's so ridiculous how low TNA is in the eyes of the talents. From Foley's Twitter:

Is @therock really having a birthday party on Raw? Maybe they'll show a clip of th pardookie I threw him in '99. Think Yurple will show up?

I just received 57 messages in the last 2 min -The people WANT the Mick @therock 's party, they NEED the Mick @therock 's party!

And 62 new ones in the last two minutes as well. Guess it couldn't hurt to ask for aone day furlough from TNA to help @therock celebrate.

---

WWE would jump at the chance to get a Foley cameo for that, just to have a nice back and forth between the two. And I could absolutely see TNA letting him do this, lol.

Due to excitement of Jericho coming back, I had to post something funny with him on it.

Well, Hebner was at Edge's sendoff. Granted, he was in the crowd, but he was RINGSIDE HARD CAMERA and even had a small exchange with the guy when he circled the ring hugging everyone. Wasn't like he was blurred or edited out in a fit of "FUCK YOU, TNA BOY!!!" So, this cameo appears to be more likely than you think.

I somehow came across a song from Disaster Movie called "Fuck Song". I've never seen the movie in my life but I decided to see what it was all about.

But then I noticed at 2:05, there's a sign that says "WCW Diva" which is an obvious rip-off of the WWE Diva's logo, with Carmen Electra jumping about singing.

So my question is, has anyone seen the moive and knows why there's a parody of WWE/WCW in it? :-\

Like I said, I could see it.

Flair was also at the HOF and appeared in a video on WWE.com, presenting HBK a belt buckle. And they plugged Foley's book on RAW and interviewed him on WWE.com for it.

WWE knows TNA isn't a threat, and letting the "competition" onto their programming and official website solidifies that. I just find it hilarious that TNA lets them go to their competition to do this kind of stuff. And if they DON'T let them, and DON'T fire them for it, it's even more hilariously bad. This really says more about TNA than it does about WWE.

From PWInsider:

After the PPV went off the air, Fortune celebrated some more.

Brooke Hogan was ring side and taking pictures with fans after the show.

Also, they were giving free chili coupons to people as they exited the arena.

===

I don't know why TNA giving out free chili coupons is hilarious to me, but it is.
