Probably just a test to see how the crowd reacts to him not being El Generico considering he was wrestling with the gimmick and mask when he arrived at NXT. Like Xero said, they want to see how flexible he might be without the Generic gimmick for any future plans.

Pretty huge meeting is supposed to occur tomorrow and could eventually end up leading to having the courts deciding if wrestlers are indeed "independent contractors" or actual employees.

TNA also has a lot more to lose than the WWE if this does go to the courts and they lose considering this year they are also taking the huge financial risk of leaving the Impact Zone.

It has been around nine months since we had any update on Daffney‘s Workers’ Compensation claim against TNA, but Ringbelles has secured some information on the situation, and it could potentially lead to one of the biggest shake-ups in wrestling history. It could cause ripple effects not just through TNA, but also to WWE.

It was always telling that Daffney, whose real name is Shannon Spruill, filed a Workers’ Comp lawsuit instead of a personal injury one, which could have been another avenue for her to be compensated for concussions which she suffered on TNA shows and effectively ended her in-ring career. The reason for that is because she wants to test the claim that wrestlers are “independent contractors”, which means that they are responsible for their own medical insurance and do not enjoy the same sort of protection and benefits that a regular employee would – similar to the lawsuit that Scott Levy (Raven), Mike Sanders and Christopher Klucsarits (Chris Kanyon) filed against WWE back in 2008 – but was dismissed, partly because their claims were barred by statute of limitations.

TNA is to mediate with Spruill tomorrow – if a settlement is not reached, the case will go to court, when it will then be up to a judge to see if wrestlers under a contract, booked to appear at places on certain dates, be told to execute a planned outcome and not have the freedom to accept booking elsewhere are truly “independent contractors” or if they should be classified as employees. Rather than just looking to satisfy her medical bills which have left her out of pocket, Spruill’s case could create a legal judgement which means all wrestlers in places like WWE and TNA could legally have to become staff.

Were that to happen, both companies would likely have to face huge tax bills as well as an increase in costs due to having to sort out benefits and insurance. On the flip side, the wrestlers on the roster would have medical cover for their injuries. That would be more of an issue in TNA than WWE, considering wrestlers working for Vince McMahon are generally well taken care of, while there have been cases in TNA such as with Ron “R-Truth” Killings, Konnan and Jesse Neal where medical bills were a cause of tension, and April Hunter pointed out having to sign a medical waiver was a big reason why she never signed to wrestle with them.

It is possible that TNA would not want a lot of its dirty laundry aired in public as part of a court case where there could be a chance that a judge could decide that wrestlers should be classified as employees. There may be a settlement at the mediation stage tomorrow, with a confidentiality agreement signed which would bar Spruill from discussing the case any further. However, should that not happen and mediation ends without a settlement, the issue will be taken to court for a hearing on the motion on the same day.

Tomorrow could be a massive day for pro wrestling and pro wrestlers. We’ll keep you posted.

Matt Striker could certainly be used in a much more effective way than merely as a backstage interviewer. I get that he blew his chance when he was on PPV and SmackDown each week, but even as a manager until they need him a bit more. Antonio Cesaro, for example, could really use someone to do some speaking for him as he gets better himself.

I like it better than the old design and felt that we were long overdue for a change. They really had a chance to do that in 2011 with Punk leaving with the old title.

The WWE has also been using the current US Title for like 11 years now. I really think that could use a change to something, well, better.

New Age Outlaws are being promoted to show up tonight on RAW. I guess this might be a sign of them sticking around for a bit than just as a special one-time appearance.

TNA once again having serious backstage locker room problems. Somewhat comparable to the mess the WWE had last year although that was in regards to being cheap-asses with bonuses and not actual pay.

TNA locker room morale is in rough shape as a result of the company's policy regarding the pay for the majority of wrestlers via the new television taping structure. With TNA running one live show and taping a second show every other Thursday, the majority of the talent will only be paid for a single appearance regardless of whether they work more than once each night. Thus, these wrestlers will be losing money compared to when Impact was taped on a weekly basis.

One source estimated that this will affect roughly 80 percent of the talent in TNA, and added that wrestlers are anxious for their contracts to expire so they can negotiate to change the wording in their contracts. Technically, TNA is within their legal rights to play hardball on this point due to the wording of the contracts, but it does seem unfair that most talent will end up losing money even if they work more than once in the same night.

So I decided to miss Raw last night as I already had missed the first hour of it due to not knowing that America changed their clocks at the weekend, and I'm not a fan of watching things when they're about halfway through.

Anyway, with that done, I thought there would be no harm in catching Raw tonight on YouTube or whatever. So today I decided to go make a rare journey to Facebook and when I sign in, my wall is plastered with spoilers from Raw from the WWE's Facebook account.

So I decide to quickly close the tab and in that split second I was on Facebook, I tried not to read or look at the picture that the WWE had uploaded. I decide to just go to YouTube and watch/listen to stuff. It seems like if you don't watch Raw live, then you pretty much have to avoid the internet until you watch the show. :-\

I think WrestlingShop is what used to be formerly known as A-Merch, which I believe is/was run by Mark Sloan, who has a pretty big hand in running/promoting things like Dragon Gate, NOAH etc when they were over, has had a hand in training a few guys you've heard of, is a decent sized part of FWA's history etc. So yeah, should be ok if it's the one.

Ted DiBiase, Jr. returns during that match, but so does Christian, and it's Captain Charisma who wins the match, the title and a cheque for $1,000,000 from Ted DiBiase, Sr. Christian gets interviewed on the main Mania show where they show highlights of the Battle Royal and he cuts a few jokes before he's attacked from behind by DiBiase, Jr. There's a feud coming out of Mania for you.

Wade Barrett retains the IC Title next week and he and Antonio Cesaro host a segment where they say that it is a travesty that they aren't yet featured on the Mania card as your Intercontinental and US Champion respectively. Ric Flair comes out and says that at WrestleMania he's got a team that can put down Barrett & Cesaro -- and introduces us to The Miz & Sin Cara.

Or you can swap Christian and Sin Cara over. I like Christian more and he's more Mania ready, but the WWE might want to give Sin Cara the exposure.

Don't trust these guys. I bought a CM Punk shirt (the MITB match one) from this site. Was delivered a knock-off product, which was dubbed 'WW' Authentic Wear. The front & back print was an exact match, but there was a lot of difference in the t-shirt material, and the smaller design elements (the sleeves and the tags).

Yeah, I'm also forced to use YouTube now when I want to watch SmackDown. I used to have a site I would go to that would upload everything WWE, TNA, ROH etc. But it gave me one hell of a virus about a month or so ago that I don't trust it anymore and I haven't been back since.

Like Smelly Meatball said, video game versions come up a lot. Coming across those videos has happened many times to me, along with clicking to watch a video and all it is, is some guy/kid talking about their thoughts on that episode of SmackDown with a screencap from the episode as the video. You would think those sort of videos would be titled something like "My thoughts on SmackDown 3/15/13", but instead you have titles such as "3/15/13 SmackDown HQ Part 1" or whatever. It's all just for views I think, which is a bit sad.

If YouTube comes up with nothing, always remember about Dailymotion. There was a period of time last year that I forgot that the site even existed, but a good few times I've searched and I've found SmackDown, both in parts and as one whole video. The only problem with Dailymotion is that every five or ten minutes, the video stops and an advert plays, though you can always close it. :y:

UFC President Dana White, who has drawn many comparisons to Vince McMahon, revealed in an interview Friday night on Canadian French sports network RDS that the WWE promoter had once proposed that they fight.

While being interviewed by former NHL player Denis Gauthier, Jr., whose wife is the sister of former WWE wrestlers Jacques Rougeau and Raymond Rougeau, Gauthier jokingly asked White who would reign supreme if he were to be locked up inside a steel cage with McMahon. The UFC figurehead revealed that the fantasy duel could have become a reality.

"Let me tell you something, and I've never said this before ever in any interview anywhere. If Vince hear's this, he's going to go nuts. Vince is too old, which he won't think he is, and he'll go crazy. And he wanted to [fight] one time," remarked White.

"Vince wanted to fight me. Swear to God. Called me up and said, "Let's do it." We can either do it in the UFC, or let's do it at WrestleMania. And I said, "You are crazy."

White noted of the 67-year-old: "I always have said it, and I'll say it again; I respect Vince very much. But Vince is too old to be fighting anybody."

According to Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, McMahon had proposed that White fight him at the 2011 pay-per-view event WrestleMania XXVII. It was the WWE chief's idea of a double main-event match—the other being John Cena vs. The Miz for the WWE Championship.

Watching this week's episode of Superstars makes me think of just forgetting about watching the show at all from now on. Superstars is an hour long show, but this week's episode only had about 12 minutes of wrestling and the other 48 minutes was adverts and recaps. :-\

Starting March 28, the WWE Universe will get to see WWE Champion The Rock as never before, starring as Roadblock in the action film “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.” But could it be long before The Great One joins another decorated franchise in the form of “Star Wars”?

According to comments the WWE Champion made while attending a “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” premiere in Sydney, participating in the beloved sci-fi film series has always been a dream of The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment, who admitted to playing with both “G.I. Joe” and “Star Wars” action figures as a child.

The Rock told Australian press that learning of his role in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” was akin to getting a phone call from “Star Wars” mastermind George Lucas.

The WWE Champion went as far as to say he plans on directly petitioning J.J. Abrams, the director of the next “Star Wars” installment, due out in 2015.

“I’m gonna call J.J. and you’re gonna help by printing it and I’m gonna be in ‘Star Wars’!” he said.
