As of yesterday, Hulk Hogan is no longer under contract with TNA. Both sides are still in negotiations but nothing is official as of this writing. TNA really wants to keep Hogan but it comes down to money.

Regarding AJ Styles' status, he is locked in through the end of December after signing a contract extension. They have not started contract negotiations past that and likely won't until after Bound For Glory.

There continues to be a lot of talk about The Ultimate Warrior being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next year. It has been confirmed that Vince McMahon and Warrior had a meeting while in Los Angeles for SummerSlam weekend. Another name still discussed is DX, who would enter the Hall of Fame as a group. DX was discussed for the 2013 ceremony but that was nixed when Bruno Sammartino agreed to be inducted. WWE sees DX as an ace in the hole and if they can't get Warrior for 2014, WWE may go with DX.

When the ‘big bad guy’ from the WWE Universe, Ryback, walked into the HT City office, he looked anything but the bully that he plays in the arena. He admits his new negative avatar is going great, but he has “never been bullied, nor bullied anyone ever.” However, he does give it back to ‘negative’ people on Twitter. “I use Twitter to respond to negativity by negative people, with negativity, because that’s how they want it. I like to fight back,” he says.
On his maiden India trip, the 6’3’’ tall, 132 kgs human giant, whose tagline on the wrestling show is ‘Feed Me More’, says he’s eating Indian food with some caution. “My friends have warned me that Indian food is spicy, and on my way here, I had a Chinese kid sitting next to me on the plane who kept going to the loo, and when I asked him what the matter was, he said he’d had a lot of Indian curry. So, I’m staying away from curries. Don’t feed me more!” he laughs, but confesses to have loved a kebab-and-ketchup combo.

And the man, who wants to make as much money as humanly possible, and to be part of WWE for the rest of his life, also has movies on his agenda. “I’d be perfect to play a comic-book villain. It’ll be a good idea to wrestle full-time and to do movies part-time,” he signs off.

It would appear that WWE's kid-friendly program, Saturday Morning Slam, is through as it is no longer listed as an active show on the company website and the new television season has begun without it airing.

According to this week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are rumors of creative differences between CW executives and WWE officials as executives at the network apparently wanted WWE to alter the program's format from taped matches to a news magazine—similar to NBA Inside Stuff—negotiations fell apart from there. For the time being, it's a subject that nobody is officially discussing.

Supposedly Superstars might get the same fate once its international contract is up.

It’s not the most reliable source, so take this with a grain (or several) of salt. But according to the National Enquirer (http://www.nationalenquirer.com/), Stacy Keibler is considering a potential return to WWE if they can come to financial terms.

The report claims that Keibler misses the spotlight after breaking up with George Clooney.

It’s worth noting that Keibler has regular work as the host of Supermarket Superstar. She is doing just fine outside of the pro wrestling and reliable WWE sources claim this report is “absolutely false”.

Once again, keep in mind the source of the news is The National Enquirer. They are the king of bullshit news and gossip. Cue the jokes and “trolls”! :-)

WTF is with this "report"? Eye catching headline to make you view it, telling you off the top that the source is incredibly dubious, and then concluding by outright saying that it is false.

There's a balence. I'm big into Kayfabe Commentaries Timeline series, but there's some I'm avoiding. The Sandman's ECW 95 and Brutus's 89. Both just talk out of both sides of their asses. Nash does at times but he's hilarious. Bought Larry Zbyszko's 1980 yesterday and looking at picking up Greg Valentine's 1984. Watched the trailers and both look interesting.

Adrian Neville being called up to the WWE and having a loose alliance with Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel as three international high-flyers with amazing ability could be fun for a bit. I'm not sure what the end game is there, though.

I really want Tyson Kidd to be the next Intercontinental Champion. I know it's not very likely, but he's got some of the same elements that have gotten people behind Daniel Bryan. Maybe Kidd's mic skills aren't at Bryan's level, but in the ring he is a fucking dynamo and that is pretty appropriate to storylines at the moment.

You have him return after Battleground and win a Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the IC Title. Paul Heyman talks about how Tyson Kidd doesn't stand a chance against Curtis Axel, because while Kidd was trained by a legend, he doesn't have the blood of legends flowing through his veins. Kidd then manages to make Curtis Axel submit to the Dungeon Lock when Paul Heyman tries to cheat Kidd out of the title and Natalya gets involved and clobbers Heyman or something. Axel and Kidd have fantastic chemistry, and Axel can show personality (well, attempt to) coming out of the match -- as he'd have a loss to deal with and could even blame Heyman or rip into Kidd for needing his woman's help.

CM Punk or Daniel Bryan teaming up with Tyson Kidd to take on Ryback and Curtis Axel would make a perfectly acceptable RAW match.

Does anyone else find it weird that whenever Sandow has been referencing his future in recent promos, he declares himself the "uncrowned World Champion." The WWE has referred to some smaller competitors as "World Champion" in the past when they have held the World Heavyweight Title (I specifically remember them doing that with Rey Mysterio), but generally they refer to both the WWE Title and World Heavyweight Title as "World Titles."

This has got me wondering if the WWE might just go ahead and do the whole "Sandow cashes in for the WWE Title instead of the World Title" thing that people often bring up when talking about Money in the Bank. I've never really been a fan of this idea, because it's pretty clear that which briefcase is for which title, and it's a pretty big plot-hole to explain. But with The Authority having it in for Daniel Bryan, it makes sense that they would do everything in their power to get someone on the side in case of an emergency.

Sandow could cash in, and the cameras could get in nice and close to pick up the audio of the referee (probably Mike Chiota) telling Sandow that his title shot isn't for the WWE Title, so he's not going to authorize the match. The referee then holds their earpiece, as if they are clearly getting instruction from the back, and then looks frustrated before calling over Justin Roberts to ring the bell. Roberts sells it as if he's unsure of what is going on as well by using a quizzical tone. Sandow then hits The Silencer and becomes the new WWE Champion.

Assuming this is on PPV, after the show (since the live audience would be confused), Triple H can come out and pretend to be all pissed off. Triple H points out the error in Sandow cashing in for the WWE Title and Sandow respectfully explains the situation. They use the excuse that Teddy Long was apparently an incompetent General Manager of SmackDown and worded the contract vaguely. When Sandow had his lawyers review the contract, they realized that it was never actually stipulated in the contract that it was exclusively for the World Heavyweight Championship, but rather for the "World Championship," which in WWE terminology can mean either the WWE Title or the World Heavyweight Title. This can seem to satisfy Triple H, who pretends to be fair about the whole thing, but has really been in on it the whole time.

Michael Cole can draw attention to the fact that someone obviously told Chiota to ring the bell, despite Sandow apparently being the only one who knew about the wording of the contract (Brad Maddox can take the heat for this, saying that Sandow's lawyers approached him earlier with copies of the MITB contract). Triple H can pay off Teddy Long's silence on knowing that the contract wasn't worded vaguely by offering him a position as the General Manager of Superstars or Main Event, something like that (even if they have him stay off-screen for that role and simply have that as a detail).

It would be an elaborate, but a creative way to screw Daniel Bryan.

If Sandow cashes in on Alberto Del Rio, I wouldn't mind it if they used this as a way to have Del Rio slowly begin another face turn. I feel that his earlier one was rushed, and that it has nothing to do with Del Rio as a performer, so much as the character they had him portray and the storylines he was involved in. He wouldn't suddenly start slapping people's hands and smiling all the time. He'd just be confident in his abilities and keep getting the clean wins he has been. They could begin the face turn even earlier than Sandow cashing in by having Del Rio confront a heel WWE Champion in Randy Orton and talk about how there's all this talk of Orton being The Face of WWE, but what about Alberto Del Rio? He beat RVD in a Hardcore Match. He only lost the World Heavyweight Title when he was fighting on one leg. He can claim to be a better World Heavyweight Champion than either Orton or Triple H and show some balls when standing up to The Authority.

JBL can turn on Del Rio somewhat by saying he's a tremendous champion, but that's the dumbest thing he has ever seen anyone do. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler can start singing his praises for representing the championship as valiantly as he has been, even if they don't agree with his aggressive style sometimes.

If a second attempt at being a top face doesn't work for Del Rio, they can always just turn him heel again. He still wouldn't be turning as quickly as Big Show does.

I know. I mean he'll probably end up being called up to the main roster, getting a few weeks to show the crazy things he can do and then getting very few offensive moves in as he starts jobbing to bigger guys. "Accentuating the positives" on guys is not something WWE has been good at for a while.

He'll probably be a MITB staple as long as he's on the main roster though.

Bunch of recent dirtsheet stuff:

The original idea at least as of a week ago was that Vince McMahon's big return to set up whatever they're doing with Vince and Hunter leading into WrestleMania would take place around Survivor Series. Over the last few days there has been talk that this might be moved forward, perhaps even to as early as the post-Battleground Raw

Plans change, but there is talk of turning Antonio Cesaro babyface. It has been acknowledged that the giant swing is a great spot, but it's also a babyface spot. There was definitely a tease of a turn on Monday's Raw. Haven't seen it at press time, but was told the giant swing taped for Main Event on Brodus Clay was a must-see.

As of this week, for a number of reasons, the idea that Damien Sandow will cash in but fail to win the title may have changed. He may actually get a run with the belt, largely because there are questions about Rob Van Dam's future since he hasn't agreed to a new deal yet (other sources claim he has a deal where he works three months on/three months off—either way, as of now, the feeling is he may not be around for a while after Battleground unless things change). Sandow doing a surprise cash-in and title change may be needed to give Del Rio something to do for a few months. They could have RVD win the title and then Sandow immediately cash in, but the feeling is that this is unlikely since they just did that at SummerSlam with Bryan.

This Sunday, Daniel Bryan will face Randy Orton for the vacant WWE Championship at the inaugural WWE Battleground pay-per-view event. It appears likely that at least one more match between both wrestlers will take place as some people in WWE believe the Battleground finish will lead to a bout at Hell in the Cell on Oct. 27.

Regardless of the final outcome, current creative plans call for Big Show to return to the main event scene in a feud with "The Viper" in November and December.

I would like to see Los Matadores and Tito Santana vs. The Real Americans and Jacques Rougeau. The gray beards wouldn't even have to do much. Just stand on the apron for the most part.

Also, add in that Zeb Coulter being completely oblivious to Jacques being Canadian until he figures it out after the match, and has the Real Americans jump them. Only, Cesaro refuses.

They can have the feud culminate in Cesaro Giant Swinging Coulter.

My first thought when I saw this was the story from Ted Jr. about how seriously Cody takes playing with G.I. Joes and how big of a nerd he is.

My second thought is that there should be a gimmick where a guy plays with Dolls (action figures) in the back and talks to Divas about the differences between seasons of Transformers (which she cares NOTHING about). When the bell rings, however, he's a violent brawler that more or less has to be pulled off of his opponent after the bell. Then he just goes back to playing with his Dolls (action figures) and being a total poindexter. Kind of a cross between the Hansons from Slapstick, Daniel Bryan, and Festus. That way, should the Wyatt Family go to pot, at least Erik Rowan will have something to do.

Here's how I would do Cesaro's face turn:

* Los Matadores defeat The Real Americans when one of the faces rolls up Cesaro after he goes for some sort of power move.

* Jack Swagger attacks Cesaro after the match and lays him out.

* The following show, Zeb Colter calls it "tough love" and says that Cesaro is still a Real American.

* Cesaro comes out as he normally would, strides to the ring all proud and such...then attacks Jack Swagger in a rage.

* Cesaro rips his flag in two, declaring war on Swagger and Colter.

* The next show has Cesaro defeat a heel in a squash match. Cesaro says he's learned a sixth language. Cesaro tells Colter and Swagger in five languages that he "will not tolerate their disrespect" and then adds in American "Colter and Swagger...you suck!"

* Colter comes out and says Cesaro is a "coward" and a "failure" in any language. Swagger and himself are the only Real Americans. Colter implies he could kick Cesaro's ass on his own.

* Cesaro heads out of the ring, despite suspecting that this is a trap, and tells Colter that he's not going to beat him up because he has far more honor than that.

* Colter spits in Cesaro's face, enraging the Swiss Superman, but Cesaro just shakes his head at Colter and walks away, only to get jumped by Swagger from behind.

* Cesaro battles back, but Colter hits Cesaro in the back of the leg with a steel chair, allowing Swagger to put the Patriot Lock on Cesaro.

* Cue PPV match announced between the two.

* Cesaro defeats Swagger at the PPV when he counters a Patriot Lock of Swagger's into his own version of the move. Colter distracts the referee as Swagger taps, and Cesaro goes over to Colter, recoiling Colter off the apron. Swagger then tries a Gutwrench Powerbomb on the re-attentive Cesaro, who flips out and then hits The Neutralizer for the pin on the former World Heavyweight Champion.

* The feud can end there or Swagger and Colter can keep going after Cesaro, with a gimmick match eventually blowing off the rivalry.

This might be stretching a little bit, but Antonio Cesaro would make a great match for Brock Lesnar. When it comes to Lesnar, for his size he is possibly the best in the ring ever. If you put him against a guy with the ability and strength that Cesaro has, you're just asking for a classic match. Could you imagine the Cesaro Swing on Lesnar at WrestleMania? Or Cesaro launching Brock up into a Swiss Death/Very European Uppercut?

Cesaro wouldn't need to win the match. He'd look good for just getting his offense in on Lesnar. If they really want to make Cesaro look golden in losing, he could kick out of one F5. A pissed off Lesnar then hits a second one and follows up with a Shooting Star Press to put him down for good.

Hogan’s contract expired on 10/1, and on his last show, taped on 9/26 and airing on 10/3, they taped a segment that is supposed to be his farewell. On the surface, it’s crazy. The first part of the angle played on 9/26 where Dixie Carter basically blew off A.J. Styles, saying that she didn’t need him, but when Hogan came out, she was begging him to help her out. On the second show, Hogan quit, with Dixie Carter grabbing him by the ankles and begging him to stay. When questions were asked, and they were, about how absolutely stupid it was for the owner to act like she didn’t care about Styles, who headlines Bound for Glory, but did about Hogan, it was said that Hogan’s contract included creative control of everything he was involved with. This was the only exit he would do, where he left on his own, without endorsing anyone, putting anyone over, nor them even ridiculing or burying him on the way out.

WWE Battleground has to be the PPV I am least hyped for in a long time.

The Rhodes/Shield match is the most interesting part. The Daniel Bryan/Orton thing kind of lost me a bit with them downplaying "face of the company" CorpOrton to bring back "IED" Orton, which is old news. CM Punk/Ryback could be "decent", but they have done a poor job of actually building Ryback for it, instead of Heyman.

Everything else looks/feels like some random RAW/SD fare.

I'm pretty much the same. I'm not really "feeling" this PPV.

I'm only really interested in the Rhodes/Shield match too but also the Hardcore Match. It does feel like just another episode of Raw but it also feels pretty rushed and pointless, when it comes to PPV's. :-\

I would love to go to sleep tonight though, as I have class early tomorrow and I'm really damn tired right now, but it looks like I'm going to have to force myself to stay awake so I can watch the PPV, as I highly doubt I'll be able to find the PPV online tomorrow, on such sites as YouTube and all that.

WWE are always trying to promote "powerful women" or whatever bollocks, and showing that their Divas are more than just eye-candy, and yet this is the best they can put on their television shows, while so many talented female wrestlers get signed to the company and then do fuck all, they're always more concerned about using ya Kelly Kelly's and useless redhead bimbo here that nobody cares about.

Not that I care about the Divas in the first place. But this is just horrible. :nono:

Rob Van Dam's deal was reiterated by PWInsider. If you remember he has a 90 day on 90 day off contract. Except that is not the case, Rob will work 90 days and take unlimited time off before another 90 day working period. Van Dam is free to work for other companies during his time off but cannot appear on television. This means that Van Dam could work for pretty much anyone. This unique deal was crafted by Triple H and Van Dam and signed off by Vince McMahon and mimics, albeit loosely, the deal that Chris Jericho has. Jericho himself is expected to return to WWE in January to work a WrestleMania program of some description.

AJ was sent home from RAW after displaying concussion-like symptoms following her match at Battleground. She had trouble remembering any of the match with Brie Bella and was supposed to face Kaitlyn on RAW.

There are a number of people within WWE, including Triple H, who feel that Aksana has something special and they want to keep her around.

Michael Hayes, who has been involved with WWE creative for a long time, has been away for a few weeks now. Hayes was given some time off to deal with some personal things and there’s no timetable for his return.
Supposedly the real reason for his time off is actually due to something else and involved Rosa.

According to former WWE creative team member Court Bauer on his podcast, there was a notable hiccup in her backstage behavior, but she wasn't the person punished for it. That's because senior road agent Michael Hayes, who is the company's go to guy for coming up with match layouts and finishes for their top pay-per-view matches, was spotted having drinks with Mendes, despite her problems with alcohol being well known by him. When Vince McMahon was tipped off that the old rogue was leading their young damsel astray, the decision was made to suspend Hayes for several weeks over his lapse in judgement.

WWE was informed that John Cena's elbow injury was not as severe as they first thought. It was only a partial tear, so his healing process was faster than expected. They decided to bring him back because the roster is perceived to be thin. The World Heavyweight Title match with Alberto Del Rio at Hell in a Cell was only conceived last Sunday and will not be inside of the Cell.

This is absolutely insane, but I'd be on the edge of my seat if Shawn Michaels screwed Daniel Bryan at Hell in a Cell. On RAW, HBK could cut a promo about how Daniel Bryan is the best student he ever produced, but the one thing he doesn't understand about sports entertainment is being a marketable champion and making the bosses happy.

Really want to see the Triple H put Big Show into a position where he can earn his job back by facing Jack Swagger & Antonio Cesaro in a Handicap Match at Hell in a Cell and winning. Cesaro can try and hit the Cesaro Swing on Show during the match. The finish can come with Swagger looking to submit Show to the Patriot Lock, but Big Show kicks Swagger off him and into Cesaro. A KO Punch then finishes Swagger and Big Show earns his job back.

Triple H wants someone's head on the platter, and he doesn't care if it's Swagger's, Cesaro's or Colter's. It is here that Colter throws Cesaro under a bus and makes him an enemy of The Authority so that he and Jack Swagger can escape without feeling the wrath of Triple H. This would lead to Swagger vs. Cesaro at Survivor Series, which would be a tremendous match and a great way to begin a face push for the Swiss Superman.

I haven't really been watching, but I like the theory of this storyline. TNA needs to generate some interest for itself, and I think the best way to do that is with compelling stories, rivalries and characters. Styles vs. Magnus -- a rivalry that spawns from Styles defeating Magnus in the BFG Series and earning his ire -- would be exactly the sort of thing that I could get behind in the promotion.

Styles winning the World Title is nothing really new for them, and feels a bit autopilot at the moment. Plus, he might be leaving the company at the end of the year. Why not use him to make a few new stars before he leaves?
