The next match saw Finlay (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Finlay) defend the WWE United States Championship (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWE_United_States_Championship) against William Regal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Regal). Prior to the match, General Manager (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_wrestling_authority_figures#General_Manager_.28GM.29_2) Theodore Long (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Long) announced that Bobby Lashley (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Lashley), who was previously scheduled to be in the match, could not compete due to elevated enzymes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enzyme) in his liver (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liver).......

The third match was Gregory Helms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregory_Helms) versus Matt Hardy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Hardy), who was substiuting for Super Crazy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Crazy), who was also suffering from elevated enzymes in his liver......

On-screen, General Manager Theodore Long put Big Show in the match instead of Khali for attacking Undertaker backstage. In reality, Khali was not medically cleared to compete due to elevated levels of enzymes in his liver.....

Also, Xavier Woods vs. Kenny Omega is one of the greatest battles in the history of our sport.

And by our sport, I mean video games.

And the fact that they REALLY played DDR after the Street Fighter battle.

Stephanie McMahon says Brock Lesnar is in one of the most unique positions of any WWE star. In an interview with Business Insider conducted last week at the Cannes Lions festival in France, Stephanie talked about Lesnar returning to the UFC octagon while still under contract with WWE.

Stephanie says the UFC and WWE are not competitors because one is competitive sport and one is entertainment. Stephanie says WWE is more like a Hollywood production than a sport, and WWE has an advantage as far as television goes because they can script their protagonists and antagonists.

“UFC, they can make a big star but the second that person loses, they lose credibility, and how do you continue to make that star rise?” Stephanie said. “So I think [WWE has] the best of both worlds and the opportunity to tell the stories in the way we want to tell them.”
:| Going to assume she had a big brain fart with that last paragraph. UFC's done a way better job handling their big stars with losses than the WWE has for years or else the company wouldn't be worth like 4x the WWE is.

Lesnar also being a big counter example to her claims.

Same here.

I actually mentioned it last week.

....When I think about it, it's crazy how much my feelings towards WWE content has changed in the space of a year.

This time last year, I was watching Raw and PPV's live from beginning to end and it would be unthinkable that I would not watch live or skip past things or even not watch at all, but it's all happened in the space of a year.

I've never really felt like this since I began watching religiously way back in the 90's, but at this moment in time, I really couldn't give a damn about the WWE. For me, there's far more negatives than positives when it comes to their product.

I'm not saying it's all their fault, as I'm assuming that the majority of the reasons are due to me and my "tastes" changing or whatever. There's just so much going on with the product that I just don't find interesting, be it the wrestlers, storylines or matches.

It's a strange feeling. :-\

For me, the only real positives, when it comes to the WWE product, are Seth Rollins and Cesaro. I honestly can't think of any more "serious" positives.

Sure, I like other guys, but the wrestlers I'm legitimately interested in and would like to watch, cheer on and see succeed, rarely get used, so most times I'm left thinking "Why bother watching when all I'm going to be watching is a show full of guys I don't care about?". :-\

Hopefully, and that's a big "hopefully", this draft will fix that and more talent will get more TV time, matches and storyline involvement.

Just a side effect of being the constant fan overbooker. It's not booked as good as you write it.

-AJ Styles as a top heel/guy in WWE.

-Nakamura in NXT. Match with Finn Balor is coming in upcoming NXT TV already taped though.

-Live Smackdown/Draft? Could be interesting to see how they handle it.

-NXT talent coming into WWE in a huge swoop instead of one guy here and there so they can be picked off and jobbed out.

-Kevin Owens/Zayn feud.

-Not as much of the Miz in recent month until Raw this week.

It sounds like you guys are burned out on the mainstream WWE/TNA product!
I suggest checking out some UNTELEVISED wrestling that you can only watch on YouTube and Facebook. Such as CHW!

This week CHW debuted their BRAND NEW SHOW called CHW Unleashed and in the show, the metal star (also part of a well know metal band), JD (JD Bolduc) defeated INNOVATOR in what was the kind of match you will never see on TV!

I wouldn't say I "hate everything".

There's plenty of guys I like, it's just Vince & Co. don't seem to care about the majority of them.

A quick look at the roster and I can say that I like/am interested in (to varying degrees) Del Rio, Alicia Fox, Big Cass, Lesnar, Cesaro, Jericho, Darren Young, Ziggler, Emma, Fandango, Jack F'N Swagger, Kalisto, Maryse, Natalya, Rusev, Ryback, Rollins, Sheamus, Sin Cara, Tamina, The Miz, Titus O'Neil, Tyson Kidd, Undertaker, Ryder, The Vaudvillans, The New Day, The Social Outcasts, The Dudleys, Epico & Primo and Anderson & Gallows.

From that list, I'd say that there's a good amount of guys that don't really get utilised all that much, but when they do appear, it's mostly always sporadically.

Felt pretty much the same as Cool King and others a few months back but honestly, NXT has completely reinvigorated my love of wrestling.

Bryan retiring was the final straw for me and stopped watching Raw for a while. I got the Network to watch some old school stuff but really got into NXT and the Breaking Ground series. The roster is really diverse and has some interesting characters. Nakamura is my new favourite guy on the entire roster, I just can't get enough of him and I'm constantly singing his theme song in my head. Great worker, great charisma and he's just different to what the rest of the roster brings.

This then got me re-interested in watching Raw again and AJ Styles getting to the main events has kept that. I still watch it on fast forward and cannot stand Reigns being 'the guy', but I don't feel as down on the product as I used to be.

Most ironic comment was Cena commenting on Goldberg, saying something like "you can't have one guy just dominate and run through everybody for so long. The fans will get tired. "

Many in the company are wondering if WWE will retroactively announce the termination of Chris Benoit's contract. There was a lot of backstage talk this week with the anniversary of the Benoit tragedy that WWE never technically released Benoit and his remaining family might be owed some retroactive pay as a result of WWE's lack of oversight. More as this develops.

A recent interview with Batista about his 2014 return.

Thought the return was botched from the start. He wanted to come back as a heel but Vince thought fans would cheer for him as a babyface.

Admitted he wasn't in good shape because he came back with a torn Achilles and stayed away from vigorous workouts to focus more on acting.

He argued with Vince & co. every day of his return.

Wanted to work SummerSlam. Said it would be huge for the company since Guardians of the Galaxy would come out around that time. Stephanie & HHH laughed and said they doubted it would be any good.

Said at that at WM30, creative told Daniel Bryan not to sell any of his kayfabe injuries in the main event.

Got extremely pissed with Shield breaking up the night after Evolution put them over. Thought they should done more with Shield vs the Wyatts after that feud.

Also got pissed that the night after the Shield/Evolution, all anyone would talk about was "Bluetista".

Said that his feelings were hurt that he and Dolph Ziggler would put on kickass matches and all the crowds would do was chant CM Punk or "Bootista".

Got confused by how fans would treat him as a face around the Royal Rumble. Said it felt like a personal attack and crowds were just trying to be trendy.

He struggled hard with promos when he was starting out because his promos were so scripted and he was terrified of public speaking.

When WWE Films started, he asked for some opportunities after seeing how almost every lead role went to John Cena. Decided to audition for roles outside WWE Films, WWE got pissed at this. This lead to him giving them a year's notice before he left in 2010.

Said that his last night with the company in 2010 put things in perspective for him. Only a few people said goodbye or thanks, then security escorted him out the door.

When was that?

A couple of years ago during an Curtis Axel match on RAW.

That got some pretty bad backlash because either it was the WWE making fun of Daniel Bryan's injury problems or making fun of concussions when that was a hot topic in sports and mainstream public at the time.

That thingy about Bats on the previous page:

Appears I gave WWE too much credit. At the time, I was sure they were shoehorning him in to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF any Guardians Of The Galaxy rub. I hated it, but could see how it made business sense to try to hotshot him over people the crowds actually wanted to see.

However, the bit about them not thinking it was going to be a very successful film makes it fall back to the "we'll tell you who you want as your favorite, dammit!" thinking that hasn't really been doing them any favors for like the last decade.

-AJ Styles is refreshing as a heel, but he should still be riding things out as a babyface. A heel turn could have been HUGE down the line.

-Nakamura is exciting, but how many times can you eat chocolate ice-cream before you're sick of it?

-I've soured on the draft. The roster probably needs to be cut; not expanded. It could be interesting, but the idea of two World Championships is now something I am firmly against on a logic reason. Dean Ambrose suddenly just being referred to as "WWE Champion" is actually what pushed me over the edge.

-NXT talent have a pretty bad track record on the main roster. Vince is still there.

-I'm actually a bit dry on the whole Owens/Zayn stuff. Owens is tremendous as a performer, but I'm actually with Cool King on this. He's missing something.

Usos vs Anderson/Gallows feud might be restarting soon if the recent house show in Japan is a possible indication.

- A.J. Styles pinned John Cena in 17:47

Styles went for a Pele kick but hit the refeee. Cena put Styles in the STF and he tapped out. Anderson & Gallows ran in and Cena beat them both down. Styles then hit Cena with the Styles clash. Anderson & Gallows & Styles were beating on Cena when the Usos came in for the save.

There will be a 16-man "USA vs. The World" elimination tag team match on Raw.

My first thought was to assume it'll just be face American wrestlers demolishing a group of evil foreign heels on the 4th of July. But after thinking it over I don't even think they have 8 heel foreigners on the main roster right now. It might instead be a mixed bag of faces and heels intermingling, infighting, etc. and it could be interesting.

My guess: Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, John Cena, AJ Styles, Apollo Crews, The Miz, Titus O'Neil, and Kane vs. Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Rusev, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, and Kalisto

Recent interview from PWTorch by a former writer revealed Vince barely had a clue who any of the guys in the Shield were prior to their call-up and only picked Reigns for the "chosen one" treatment after hearing about his connections to the Rock and his looks.

Ambrose came really close to being the Authority's hand-pick champion before that got nixed in favor of Orton. Also management was split between Rollins and Reigns being Cena's successor.

“As far as perceptions of Dean, I was there when the Shield came together and debuted, and Vince was not really familiar with the guys and what they had done in NXT, so he listened to a lot of what Hunter said and other people’s opinions. And the decision was made to have one guy be a singles guy - they’re gonna be a three-man operation and there would be a lot of six man matches, but we want to pick out a singles guy and a tag team. And everyone was in agreement that Roman is the greenest of the three, and Seth is the technician - they didn’t see a lot of personality in Seth at that point, so let’s put those two together as a tag team. Roman’s the power guy who’s green, so we can sort of cover his in-ring weaknesses while he’s learning. Dean was seen as the guy who was most ready at that point to assume a singles role. He was seen as the best promo, and I believe he had more in-ring experience at that point than Seth. He just seemed ready-made. But there was never any question of him being a long-term guy that we’re gonna build around. It was very, very clear and specific that Roman is the guy who has the most long-term potential. He’s everything we look for in a future champion. He’s got the look, he’s got the lineage, everything is there. So let’s protect him, not push him too much too soon, and when the time is right this could be the guy.

So that was the perception from the very beginning. I will say this though, there was talk at one point when the Shield was associated with the Authority, that Dean Ambrose could have gotten the Randy Orton spot to be the chosen one of the Authority. And there were actually some plans for that to happen, and I think as things went along everyone - and I agreed with this as well - kind of said “No, maybe Dean isn’t world championship material, at least not right now. He’s not ready for that spot.” And some of that could’ve been our fault from a creative standpoint, in that we didn’t really put him in a spot where he would be believable in that role, or that he was ready for it, or that the fans would accept him in that role at that point. So the decision was made to go to Randy Orton.

But again, he has always been seen as a valuable guy, but never necessarily the guy. And it’s funny because the perceptions of the Shield guys were always fluid, it was always changing. I know at one point there - the Shield rarely lost, but when they did it was usually that Seth would take the fall, and at one point Michael Hayes came in and said “You guys, we got to stop beating Seth so much. I’m telling you, he’s the guy.” So I feel like at one point Dean, who was like number one in the Shield pecking order, actually got moved down to three. Roman’s the guy, but man this guy Seth really surprised some people. He was a little better on the mic than they thought, and we knew he was good in the ring but he was actually great in the ring. So I saw Seth Rollins’ stock rise. It’s not necessarily that Dean’s really fell so much, it was more that Seth surprised some people.”

Team USA (Faces): Crews, Ambrose, Cena, O'Neil, New Day, Sgt. Slaughter/Jim Duggan (If not Slaughter or Duggan, then Cesaro)

Team The World (Heels): Del Rio, Jericho, Epico, Primo, Owens, Rusev, Sheamus and "Special Foreign Guest" (If not a "Special Foreign Guest", then Rollins, as a way to get more heat)

I agree with this, but I have a feeling that Ambrose and Cena might be doing something else. I imagine Jack Swagger being in there. They could also re-debut Darren Young in this segment. They also like to insert Big Show into these things. I imagine that he and Swagger will be in there in place instead of Ambrose and the last entrant. I could also imagine Dolph Ziggler taking the place of Cena if they want him to do something more important.

Mel Kiper doing a draft show on the network would be awesome.

"Collin Cassidy might be 7 feet tall..and it's true you can't teach that..but you know what you can teach..promo skills..the guy cuts promos sounding like he's a robot..plus lets not even mention his 2nd grade spelling skills"

What's with that Reddit?

There's guys on it claiming to have a video/photo of Brad Maddox and Paige having sex and also a photo of the ass of Mick Foley's daughter.

Yeah! There is an alleged screen cap of Maddox pounding Paige that they are basing off her anklet as their faces are not seen.

Highlights from a recent interview Cody Rhodes had about his time in the WWE with the biggest being the WWE wanting him to win the MitB on at least 2 occasions only to suddenly change their minds the day of the ppvs. Also credits the Mania match against Big Show where he started to question his career's direction in the company.

Dave Solo, who hosts the Walker Nation Podcast, conducted an hour long interview with Cody Rhodes at yesterday's "Heroes & Villains Fan Fest" in New Jersey. It was his first interview since leaving WWE. Below are some quotes from the interview:

* Rhodes talked about moments that mean something, like with Stephen Amell. He said, "I don't want the money, I want the moments and you (WWE) are not giving me the moments."

* Feeling like less than he was in WWE: "I was in Greensboro and that's where my dad and Ric (Flair) had to get on the radio, in fans cars, and tell them that the event was sold out for Starcade. I thought 'Here I am looking at this Stardust outfit in my bag… I feel like I'm less than I am and no amount of money is worth being less than I am.'

"I don't want to be anything but #1."

* Rhodes also said that WWE has given him the the go-ahead to write his father's book.

Rhodes also talked about his early years, breaking into the business, his OVW run, his WWE tenure, and his relationship with Dusty. Also, his wife Brandi got on the mic and talked about her departure from WWE and how she was leaving anyway. She also said that the product now is not good and someone could "make a hat out of turds, creating a turd hat, and it would get over in the WWE!"

Would confirm 2011 date since Del Rio won the RAW case and 2013 being the other year hinted at by the sheets.

Cody winning in 2013 seemed like a somewhat logical choice. Sandow's career being put on hold probably owes something to that creative decision.

Rhodes would have been the first person to lose his MITB cash in then

Rhodes winning MITB, turning face, cashing in and winning the World Heavyweight Title, and then facing off against WWE Champion Randy Orton to merge the titles in a feud that played up all of their past history together would have been a lot of fun and probably way more entertaining that Cena/Orton Part 500.

Probably not the least bit realistic, mind...but still entertaining.

If I ever have the opportunity to shake Becky Lynch's hand I will likely run straight to the bathroom to rub one out with said hand.

If I ever have the opportunity to shake her hand, I'll dodge it and go straight for a hug. Any repercussions that follow would be well worth it.

According to the Rome News-Tribune, a spectator pulled a loaded gun on a wrestler in the middle of a match this past Saturday and is now being charged with aggravated assault. The woman in the seats, 59-year-old Patricia Anne Crowe, who reportedly has regularly attended the monthly American Wrestling Federation (AWF) events in Ringgold, apparently just got up during a match involving longtime wrestler Paul Lee (pictured above) and a wrestler known as “Iron Mann” and pointed her gun at Lee.

She then allegedly pointed the gun at the “commissioner” of the show, “Robbie Rude,” as well.

What sparked all of it? According to Lee, it was when he was bantering back and forth with the crowd in his role as the bad guy (heel) and told the woman in question “to sit her toothless self down.”

That set the lady off, so much so she got her pistol out and made sure to have one in the chamber and the safety off as she approached the ring.

As Lee describes it, one shaky moment could’ve meant some real bad consequences for all involved.

“I had him tied up and was beating on him, and this lady jumps up with a knife, cuts him loose, and then pulled a loaded gun on me. She had that thing loaded with one in the chamber and the safety off. All it would have taken was for her to get shaky with that thing and it could have fired.”

Crowe was released on Monday on a $4,000 bond, and Lee, the victim, wasn’t happy about that idea, citing the other spectators and participants involved.

“The sheriff’s office called me to let me know they let her out Monday on a $4,000 bond,” Lee said. “I think it should have been a higher bond than that. She pulled a gun on me in front of kids and everything… it was just crazy.”

As for the AWF and future shows, the promotion has already gathered up some metal detectors for future shows at the arena in Ringgold. This is more entertaining than RAW should put It on TV.

Wacky Vince story from back in the day. Was from a recent interview Kane had with the Busted Open radio show.

Q: What was the craziest thing, and there have been many, Vince has made you do?

Kane: I’m not sure I can tell this one.

Q: Oh come on. What the hell was it?

Kane: This was Royal Rumble 2011, from Boston. I didn’t know what number or who I was throwing over just that they needed me. As soon as I got the area the boys were all huffing and puffing about something. Show (Big) came up to me and told me how Kev (Nash) had been offended by some last minute details and that he and Vince had it out. Then Show told me Kev had walked out. The backstory is apparently Kev was pissed that Vince wanted him to return as Diesel instead of the Nash character. I guess he felt like Vince was marginalizing all of the success he had in WCW with the Nash character. Anyways…

I was sitting with Mark (Henry) and Bryan (Danielson) in the locker room when sarge busted in and told me ‘Glenn you’re up.’ That meant that it was my turn to sort of go over the part of the rumble that I was going to be part of. It seemed strange getting the call so early, like several hours before the show started but I paid little mind. When I got to Vince’s office he was pacing around and seemed unhinged. ‘Glenn, we need to step up big tonight. You’re going to be a game changer tonight. Can we trust you Glenn?’

Vince has this way of empowering you. I really felt rejuvenated after hearing that. I really wasn’t expecting much for this event but now Vince had my interest peaked. He told me ‘We made some promises to some very loyal people (WWE universe) that a very special return would be happening. A return from Big Daddy Cool! However due to a mutual inability to come to an agreement; Kevin Nash will not be appearing tonight. That doesn’t mean we won’t see Diesel. Are you following me Glenn?’

I was sitting there in his office in disbelief. How in hell is he going to try and run me down the ramp dressed up like Kev (as Diesel) again? He told me they had a wig prepared that would look exactly like Kev’s hair; because I had short hair the time. He told me to go with sarge and test out the gear in private. There was a million things I wanted to say but I was really in such disbelief that I couldn’t mutter a single word. I stood up, Vince slapped me on my shoulder proud as a father could be, and I walked out with sarge leading the way.

I was really hoping this was some sort of joke but as sarge lead me into a private dressing room there it was all over again, the Diesel outfit that had nearly ended my wrestling career sixteen years earlier. Being the loyal employee I put the outfit on as well as the wig and waited in the room for someone to tell me what my match plan was.

It felt like forever waiting in that room staring at the wall wondering why in the hell am I doing this bullshit again? I was really close to taking the shitty outfit off and just going home when Pat (Patterson) came into the dressing room and told me Kev came back and he and Vince worked it out. I needed to give up my Diesel gear and get back in my Kane gear pronto. He told me that they were going with the original plan. One problem; no one told me the original plan. Pat told me to wait here and I did. He came back fifteen minutes later and told me they forgot about Kane and said I would be going in dead last at 40, eliminate EJ (Ezekiel Jackson) and be eliminated by Rey in under two minutes.

So that is why I was number 40. No one ever mentioned the Diesel change to me again. I still can’t believe those f***ers were going to march me down the aisle posing as Kev again. What a f***ing nightmare.

They should have had Nash come in as Nash, then have Kane come in as "Diesel." They have a brief staredown, then Diesel gets eliminated by Nash, who's visibly angry at the whole thing.

I don't believe that story. Kane wouldn't talk like that in an interview especially when he has active political aspirations.

I agree with James Steele. Kane comes across as very cordial.
