Agreed, they should think about repricing their PPVs similar to ROH. Might have bought it if it was $25. Also need to work out the GWN set up some type of discount to members for PPVs. The WWE Network has completely changed the wrestling PPVs and I get they can't give away their PPVs for $10 since they have so few but $40 is to high.

A look at Impacts new titles, I think they should have used the X on the side plate of the X Division title as the centerpiece. The X just looks better. They really love that owl though, which doesn't look bad on the World Title but the Tag Team titles have 2 owls and that might have been a bit overboard.

I know, 2017 was a bad year for the title situation in Impact. At the start of the year still had the TNA Heavyweight Championship although they had quit referencing TNA. Then came in GFW and they were just using the GFW belts until that fail through so they just screwed Impact logos over the GFW logos. Agree the World and X Division titles didn't change their looks a whole lot but the Knockouts and Tag Team titles got a complete overhaul. Think this is also the first time the Knockouts Championship actually says Knockouts instead of Women's.

The Rock ended up confirming rumors that he was the original tag partner for Ronda Rousey for Mania 34. WWE had talks with him around 2 months ago to see if he could be at Mania and when that wasn't possible, Angle became Ronda's partner instead.

The Rock spoke with KISS FM UK to help promote his latest movie, Rampage. During the conversation Rock was asked if he would make a return to wrestling and Rock said not only would he, but he nearly did, after a conversation with Vince McMahon about WrestleMania 34.

"Oh yeah, absolutely. Sure! As a matter of fact, Vince McMahon and I were talking probably about two months ago trying to figure out what I was going to do if I went back to WrestleMania," Rock said. "He pitched me this really great idea that involved a tag match with Ronda Rousey - who's incredible - I'm very proud of her, and Triple H, and Stephanie [McMahon].

Despite Rock's interest, he was asked how come the plans didn't come together.

"We were really excited about it on the phone," Rock admitted. "We couldn't make it work this time because I was in Shanghai [for a film premiere], but who knows down the line."

Ronda was great, and she's got explosive energy and was bumping like a mad-woman. My worry is that the WWE overexposes her. The general feeling seems to be that she will headline WrestleMania next year, and while she is a freak that will pick things up quickly and only get better and better, at the end of a 7-hour show, how are those fans in attendance going to react to the "Ronda push?" When does she lose that special quality and the surprise factor?

That sounds reasonable as hell. I'm honestly not up to brush on my Backlund. I hear a lot of mixed reviews about his performances critically and commercially. He sounds like a guy that did consistently well, but didn't have the same spikes as Bruno or Hogan. I was going to say "he held the ship together," but having a 6-year title reign is a bit more than that, haha. A lot of people say that losing the belt is to blame for Graham's rapid downfall, but it is logical to consider whether the addiction was more primary in that.

Something I just realized about Triple H's 2000: He was in gimmick match upon gimmick match that year. I'm not really high on Triple H, because I just feel that his importance is a retroactive construction by a WWE, and that it's a myth that should really be contested. It irks me so much. It was the Attitude era. It was crazy, woo -- I get it. I am probably being far too cerebral in trying to assassinate Triple H like this. But it's just something I didn't realize until just looking at the cards for 2000 (considered the WWF's best year, commercially and often critically):

* Street Fight against Cactus Jack at the Royal Rumble. Mick Foley bends over backwards trying to get the new heel champion over.

* Hell in a Cell at No Way Out against Cactus Jack, with Jack's career on the line. A gimmick on top of a gimmick. Mick Foley again doing his best to make sure Triple H is in top heel form in time for WrestleMania.

* Four-way for the gold at Mania. Rock, Big Show and Foley also there. A McMahon in every corner. Another case of a gimmick on top of the gimmick.

* Shane McMahon as special guest referee against Rock at Backlash; Vince and Steph allowed at ringside; "Austin will be there! Austin will be there!"; Rock's still chasing.

* Iron Man at Judgment Day against Rock.

* Multi-man tag where the belt can change hands at KOR.

* Last Man Standing at Fully Loaded.

* Triple Threat at SummerSlam.

* No DQ with Mick Foley as special guest referee at Unforgiven; Stephanie makes her decision.

* No DQ against Austin at Survivor Series.

* Multi-man Cell at Armageddon.

Triple H's one straight one-on-one wrestling match in 2000 on PPV was against Chris Benoit, who was arguably the best wrestler in the company at that point. Could this have been means to "protect" Triple H, or am I looking too far into it? I mean some of them arguably hurt the card, but you can't deny there is always some sort of effort to "fluff-up" the Triple H match and make things interesting from a layman's perspective.

Haven't liked her on Impact and I don't think her and Allie work well together. The timing of her coming in is weird as well. Laural Van Ness was doing the crazy bride thing and left and Yung kind of just felt like a replacement, especially going after Allie. I won’t go into arguing opinions of Triple H’s legacy, but gimmick matches were the motif in 2000. WM2000 didn’t have a regular 1 on 1 Match that year. Just because you do t like him or think he is overrated doesn’t mean you can completely retcon his ability.

I won’t go into arguing opinions of Triple H’s legacy, but gimmick matches were the motif in 2000. WM2000 didn’t have a regular 1 on 1 Match that year. Just because you do t like him or think he is overrated doesn’t mean you can completely retcon his ability.

Not trying to completely retcon his entire ability, I just find it interesting that he was in so many gimmick matches on PPV. Let's look at The Rock by comparison:

* He was in the Royal Rumble.

* Wrestled Big Show at No Way Out. There was a stipulation, but it was a straight-forward match.

* Was in the four-way with Triple H at Mania.

* Was in the special ref with Triple H at Backlash.

* Was in the Iron Man with Triple H at Judgment Day.

* He was in the six-man with Triple H at KOTR.

* He wrestled Chris Benoit in a straight-forward match at Fully Loaded.

* He was in the Triple Threat with Triple H at SummerSlam.

* He was in a four-way at Unforgiven.

* He wrestled Kurt Angle in a No DQ match at No Mercy.

* He wrestled Rikishi in a straight-forward match at Survivor Series.

* Hell in a Cell with Triple H and the gang at Armageddon.

So The Rock was in 3 singles matches out of 11 opportunities to do that in 2000, versus Triple H's 1 out of 12. I just find it interesting. It came up when I was discussing Triple H's enhanced retroactive significance in the Attitude era. 2000 is considered his glory year, and he did some really fine work during it, don't get me wrong, but I do find it interesting the bells and whistles he got, and that he wasn't a more significant draw than Chris Benoit that year.

Can see the WWE title and youngest ever champ record being broken at some point in the future. WWE just needs the ideal time and a storyline reason for both.

The other two records would take way too much work and effort by the WWE to even have a chance at breaking. Hogan's longest reign only beat out Sammartino's smaller reign by over 200 days and took some fudging of the numbers to get Backlund's 1st reign to hit the 2k number.

They've got this ongoing thing with Mil Miscaras in Memphis, and whether or not it was actually him that wrestled for them one Monday. I agree with this, almost completely. But I have never been as big on the match quality as the story. A sloppy punch up appeals to me if there is a reason why guys hate each other.

The only exception is what Jinder did. He made the whole thing look stupid with the delayed reaction. No problem missing the cue or the spot, like you say, but point to you head, pretend you outsmarted him. Don't be a knob and fall over.

Callihan botch annoyed me recently though. It was unsafe and could have ended a career. Put an egg on Kevin Sullivan's head recently too. Not a great idea to make being a clumsy idiot into your gimmick. Doesn't make you hard, just unsafe and bad at your job

Weird how many people are commenting on how great it is to know that Matt and Edge are friends again. I don't see why that's surprising, I'd have actually been surprised to find they still had heat with each other. The Lita shit was 13 years ago, Matt's been with Reby since right around the time he left WWE in 2010, and Edge starting seeing Beth not long after he retired, and they're both married with kids. If anything, they can probably have a nice laugh about the Lita stuff now.

Edge is a very lucky man.

According to reports, Neville's career in the WWE is very close to being done. Neville recently moved back to the UK and has no interest in working again for the company.

Bodyslam.net is now reporting that former WWE cruiserweight champion Neville is closer than ever to leaving the company. The last time there was an update on the situation, it was revealed that Neville was still sitting out his contract at home. He has reportedly asked for his release but so far WWE has not granted it.

The latest report reveals that the former 205 Live superstar is no longer living in Florida, which he called home during his WWE career. He said quietly said goodbye to his American friends and went back to the UK, but has tried to keep the move secret.

Another source said that Neville’s name hasn’t been mention within WWE “in ages.” “The Man That Gravity Forgot” walked out of the company in October of last year due to being unhappy with his job. As of now, he’s still under contract.

Eli Drake is what happens when you take the worst qualities of The Miz, throw them into the local firefighter who thinks he's a local legend, and then get them to pretend to be The Rock without any natural charisma or personality. He is abysmal. I would rather see Braun Strowman try and wrestle for an hour than listen to one Eli Drake promo.

Random thought, how fucking over will Dean Ambrose be upon his return? The Seth pops lately have been really specific and intense for him, I think Ambrose will get similar or bigger reactions, depending on his booking of course. Ambrose isn't my favorite but there is something about him live, like this Terry Funk charisma that makes you care about his matches. It's the way hit hits the ropes, sells a bump, everything he does is really magnetic, more so live than on TV but still....

WWE is going to need some top heel but Ambrose is good as a baby face and it's so easy to cheer for him. I wonder what they have in mind for him? I could also see him taking either one of the big belts for a nice long ride.

I loved Ambrose for the longest time, and then he just fell off a cliff for me. It was around the time of the Brock loss, but he just...changed. His work with Jericho was objectively really bad. He never got that spark back, and he has been completely overshadowed by the likes of AJ Styles. He's now my third favorite Shield member.

Coming back from injury helps people feel fresher. He'll get a big pop, but I think he will stale pretty fast. A lot of people want to see him turn heel, but to what end? I'd like to see him in a feud that really matters. I don't know what the answer is.

And just using me as a bar, if I don't know who that is, how would that be epic for that confrontation to take place? I guess they could run some promo's about Ronda's training and have clips of Sara mentoring Ronda and talking about how awesome she is. Only for after Ronda gets her first singles victory to look upon the stage to see Sara. Sara walks down, they hug, hands are raised in victory and then BAM. Whatever Sara's move is. "I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING AND YOU NEVER GAVE ME ANYTHING! NOW I'M GOING TO TAKE IT ALL AWAY"... But still, she'd better be awesome because I don't know who she is.
