And there's an open spot with the Jay and Dan Podcast being done (probably only Canadians will know that one)

Wonder if its related to them announcing construction work on their new HQ is going to resume soon and the backlash from investors ever since they found out how much money WWE blew on the ThunderDome.

WWE stocks have been getting hammered since last week's fiscal report due to investors blaming ThunderDome costs for why WWE posted lower than expected revenues.

According to PWI, this was directly related to them posting lower than expected numbers from their recent fiscal quarter. For some reference, WWE missed hitting their expected revenues by around $7 million and expected profits by around $12 million.

Also something high level executives had been discussing to do in the weeks leading up to the report's release.

Fightful reporting that WWE signed notable indie wrestler Blake Christian to a contract.

Would explain the recent Title vs. Career match he had in GCW that seemed to come out of nowhere when it was announced.

Also fits with reports of WWE going right back to their old hoarding ways in recent weeks and Triple H teasing this upcoming new class for the Performance Center features the most female wrestlers ever signed for a single class.

Super J-Cup is not a nothing tournament. Just doesn't get held that often since its more of a showcase tournament than annual one prior to its recent revival.

Last year's tournament is what got Impact and NJPW to start mending their years-long broken relationship.

Not like you'd care anyways since you felt it was super important to tell everyone how NJPW is now on your shit list all because of a simple announcement of a couple of their guys showing up soon on Impact.

Taya Valkryie reportedly recently signed a deal with WWE.

Taya Valkyrie, the longest reigning Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion in history, has signed with WWE for the NXT brand, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources. She is expected to be part of the next announced class of signings. Last week, Paul Levesque touted that the next class of signings will have the largest quotient of female talents to date. Taya was at this past Wednesday's NXT TV taping.

Unless NXT is doing a wave of callups very soon, their Women's division is about to become even more bloated now. They already have more than SD and RAW's divisions combined last I checked.

That absolutely sucks. I heard a podcast about the scandal in December. Absolutely crazy shit.

I couldn’t help but think about the names of some of their announcers: Michael Cole, Tom Phillips. I’d like to think that is just a coincidence. But neither are those guys’ real names. Lol I've got so many comments about this video. These guys are all in my wheelhouse

Scott Casey later went on to become a gigolo ala Buff Bagwell

Pete Doherty had a more successful run in 79-80 ish as the Golden Terror and was managed by Lou Albano. I remember his beating Haku out of nowhere in like 1989

I remember Sivi AFI getting booed out of MSG in his debut because they made it look like Jimmy Snuka was returning

Conan Chris Walker's issue was he was too short

A lot of these guys made more money working lower card matches in the WWF than they did in higher profile runs in smaller territories.

Also thought WWE's Golden Era started a few years earlier than their starting point of 1986/1987 but they consider the early years of Hulkamania to be its own thing.

haha yeah Big Bully Busick's stache was epic.

Yeah I would adjust it to 1984ish, but the company didn't have a lot of guys coming in and out so fast prior to 1986. Guys like Buzz Sawyer were rare. They did have a few legends at the end of their career work House Shows in the areas they had success in like Mad Dog Vachon/the Crusher in Minnesota and Mr. Wrestling II in the South, but they didn't make weekly T.V's

That makes sense for pushing back the start of the Golden Era by a couple of years.

That reasoning also fits with how many people consider 1997 to be the start of the Attitude Era instead of 1995/1996 since 97 is when the era really kicks in and the flow of memorable guys and stars in the company.

You hear a lot of people say WrestleMania 1 was the start of the "Golden Era", partially because WWE has conditioned fans that way.

I would say the Iron Sheik beating Backlund in December 1983 was the start of the Golden Era. Mid 83-Wrestlemania 1 is soooo interesting to learn about.

Turns out Vince's recent edict on talent not being allowed to have accounts or deals with outside third party services is even more stricter than previously assumed.

They recently expanded the ban list to include Twitter and Instagram in regards to tweets and posts promoting third party stuff and not even charities are excluded from the ban.

Just like with Twitch and Cameo, WWE is also now claiming ownership of their talent's social media accounts.

WWE is issuing “violations” to talent for tweets or Instagram posts naming any third party business, person, brand or charity, Wrestling Inc. has learned.

Wrestling Inc. has learned that the violations start with a warning, then a fine, and finally suspension. The company is claiming ownership of talent Twitter and Instagram accounts via a clause in their contracts that grants WWE the exclusive use of their likeness.

It has been made clear to talent who have complained that the current “flexibility” allowed in social media could be retracted by the company.

We first reported last September that Vince McMahon issued an edict stating that talent can no longer use platforms like Cameo and Twitch. Zelina Vega was released from the company last November due to fallout from her continuing to use platforms like Twitch and OnlyFans.

A recent study from LoveUX revealed how lucrative these social media posts. Their study estimated that Lana earned $625,922 off 59 sponsored posts in 2020 ($10,608 per post), while Mandy Rose garnered an estimated $490,104 off 71 sponsored posts ($6,902 per post).

Job stability likely played a huge role since WWE is a known quantity while AEW wasn't at the time.

When she signed her deal, AEW had only just started taping weekly shows.

TNT renewing AEW as quickly as they did and locking in a lengthy guaranteed tv contract gave AEW the legitimacy and known quantity status it was missing prior.

I can get that "person X wouldn't be popular if it weren't for WWE". At the same time, Lana isn't Lana, she's CJ Perry. WWE doesn't like that the "likeness" of a character is their stuff and someone dare make a single cent on it.

If an independent contractor were to not have enough work, they would try to make up for that some way:

Better skillset, target a broader area with same services, etc.

I would think, some of these folks who aren't featured regularly probably aren't doing as well as years past due to the lack of live gates, merch sales from live events, etc. They are looking for alternative revenue streams and some have been wildly successful. WWE isn't getting a piece of that pie and feel like they are owed it because "you didn't build that, WWE built that".

All of that is moot of course, based on whatever the fook is in their contracts, I would think.

Evil Vito

The one "perk" WWE gives its contracted performers is a downside guarantee. Which in it's simplest form is "if we don't book you often enough to get X number of dollars through gate, buys (in the old days) etc....we'll pay you the downside instead"

So it does at least give talent some guaranteed money in the door even if they go for a spell of not being on the road. But my understanding is that the downside for sitting at home is substantially less than if they were on the road with any degree of regularity.

Even in the pre-pandemic days, before the cruiserweight division was merged with NXT the cruisers were getting badly fucked because they'd be brought to Raw and SmackDown tapings but not always get booked, and only two of them would be on the road at a time for the token Cruiserweight Title match at a house show. The rest of the division was home from Wednesday-Sunday the rest of the time with no money coming in....and they had to pay for travel, expenses etc to get to TV. So they were all barely making anything after the downside.

All of that is moot of course, based on whatever the fook is in their contracts, I would think.

What's crazy is that independent contractor status is actually very specific in its requirements.

These are the key factors that determine whether someone is an independent contractor: 1. The independent contractor is supposed to be free to work for other parties without interference or approval from the contracting party except for very limited circumstances. 2. The contracting party isn't allowed to tell the independent contractor when, where and how the work is to be performed or completed. 3. The contracting party isn't required, and in a lot of cases, isn't allowed, to provide any equipment for the contracting party to perform their work. 4. The independent contractor must pay for their own expenses and health insurance. Typically, if any two or more and certainly a majority of these don't apply, the independent contractor is actually an employee.

The only thing WWE really adheres to is the last one re: health insurance and expenses, and even covering expenses is certainly not always applicable for WWE's bigger stars.

According to Fightful, WWE recently held tapings for a new show for their NXT brand.

The new show is currently planned to be called NXT EVOLVE and seems to potentially be borrowing inspiration from RAW Underground, ROH's Pure title division, and Josh Barnett's Bloodsport series instead of being the rumored developmental or minor league system for NXT itself.

Fightful Select that WWE has filmed content for a second NXT series that will tentatively be called NXT EVOLVE. Graphics and a title belt have been made with that branding, although it could still change.

Gabe Sapolsky and Jeremy Borash are ‘heavily involved’ with the production, which is said to be ‘nothing like anything else’ WWE has done. The tapings were in the warehouse that WWE used as a Performance Center during the pandemic.

Some of the newer WWE signings since this past summer were involved with the taping. Josiah Williams was the host, which has a “fight” feeling to it. There was no live commentary so if that’s added, it will be done in post-production.

It was previously reported that the show had been discussed before the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, planning has been happening as far back as two years ago, with different versions pitched in that time. Different names had also been discussed for the show, including NXT Underground. It was noted the platform and plans are “not set in stone.”

Apparently the stuff with O'Reilly after NXT's show was either just a messed up idea someone had in NXT Creative or people being completely fooled by his sell job based on the way he was unresponsive and his history with diabetes issues or both.

As previously reported, Kyle O’Reilly was stretchered out following Wednesday’s episode of WWE NXT. He was attended to by Triple H, Finn Balor and other officials.

O’Reilly was with Cole backstage and was responsive after the incident. Wrestling Inc. was able to confirm that they were just selling the closing angle and that the incident was a work.

O’Reilly is fine and he was just selling the closing angle on NXT.

The angle led to many people on the internet speculating that the incident was because O’Reilly has Type 1 Diabetes. I was told that they didn’t even anticipate that people would think it had to do with that. This was simply a case of WWE running an angle, but speculation ran rampant on social media after photos were leaked.

As seen in the Twitter photos below from a fan in attendance inside the Capitol Wrestling Center at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, O’Reilly was taken away on a stretcher by medics. Triple H and other officials were right there with him, as was NXT Champion Finn Balor, among others. The photos also show that a WWE camera man was filming as O’Reilly was tended to.

The fan noted that after hitting the steel steps at ringside during the main event angle, O’Reilly appeared to be knocked out until a ringside medic came over and had to wake him up. It was noted that O’Reilly’s condition looked “pretty bad” and it was also said that he suffered a seizure, but the seizure has not been confirmed. The fan added that the incident was scary to see as O’Reilly had to be waken up by the medic.

I don't get why they did that part of the angle after the show ended since unlike AEW or WWE's other main roster shows, NXT gets an overrun for their shows and could have easily put that part in it.

Ending the show with the babyface getting stretchered out and heel Cole in the ring enhances the babyface sympathy and heel heat for both guys and gives you a stronger show closing ending. Instead WWE decided it would be better to just put it on Youtube or as one of those Network exclusive things for the clicks or some other odd reason.

According to Wrestlenomics, WWE is giving a large number of their employees $3000 in company stocks to make up for the lack of raises and promotions. The stock awards given out fully vest or become guaranteed in March.

In other WWE related news, several former wrestlers recently banded together and have appealed to the Supreme Court to hear their lawsuit against WWE in regards to concussions. They are hoping the Supreme Court might overturn the decisions from a lower Connecticut court and US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit that sided with WWE and dismissed their lawsuit against the company.

Currently watching Bloodsport 5 and GCW captures the gritty feel of an underground fight club way better than WWE's overproduced and sanitized version with their former RAW Underground.

Also helps GCW's version isn't plagued by Kevin Dunn style rapid cam shot switches and shaky cam.

Mr. Nerfect
02-20-2021, 07:29 PM
I might actually have to watch WrestleMania if we get Cesaro vs. Rollins. Hopefully Christian wrestles Jey Uso too.

Emperor Smeat
02-20-2021, 07:35 PM
Compared to the first Bloodsport a couple years ago, GCW improved the presentation a lot with this and last week's shows.

Same for the wrestlers being a lot more comfortable working in a MMA or "shoot" fighting style. The biggest problem with the first Bloodsport show was most of the wrestlers didn't really know how to work a "shoot" fight nor wrestle in a rope-less ring and it showed with the weak quality in a good chunk of the show's matches.

I’m down for Cesaro vs Rollins at Mania, and Christian vs Jey or really Christian doing anything.

Mania/the Network is essentially gonna be free for me since I get Peacock through my cable provider, those matches would give me a reason to watch Mania is good in my book

Moxley somehow managed to almost completely whiffed a two foot stomp spot despite standing right next to Smith. That might be a first in wrestling.

Moxley vs. Smith delivered big time in terms of quality and brutality.

Bloodsport 5 was such a fun show overall. A little over an hour and a half long and I'd recommend all the matches except the first one.

Progress Wrestling is currently dealing with another scandal.

This time it involved them knowingly using a talent who was outed during last year's Speaking Out movement despite the company making a big deal about them no longer being willing to work with sexual abusers and rehauling their entire management to root out those involved and as a clean slate going forward.

This past summer, PROGRESS Wrestling had some major changes due to the #SpeakingOut movement, when multiple wrestlers who worked for the promotion were named and accused of sexual misconduct (and other, more serious charges). These included David Starr, Travis Banks, Ligero, and referee Mark “Paz” Perry, whom the company cut all ties with. Tag Team champions Jordan Devlin and Scotty Davis, who were also named, were stripped of their titles and indefinitely suspended. They also announced a complete restructuring after the fact, with owner Glen Robinson stepping down, as well as Matt Richards.

One of the wrestlers named was reigning PROGRESS Proteus Champion, Paul Robinson, who Fightful reports worked Chapter 104 this past weekend, which aired on the WWE Network. Robinson was in a backstage capacity, as he never appeared on the show.

Progress' excuse was they wanted fans to make the decision on if they wanted to watch their first show back since shutting down due to COVID reasons instead of avoiding this entire situation to begin with by not hiring the guy for their show and hiding it from fans because he only worked in a backstage role. Also doesn't help they also are dealing with some backlash over a recent comment(s) made on Twitter make light of their situation and past apologizes.

For some reference, this is what Paul Robinson has been accused of doing:
A user on Twitter outlined allegations against several names in the U.K. scene – the person has since shut down their Twitter, but the screenshots can be viewed at Bodyslam.net. The Twitter user stated the following about Robinson:

"Whilst on a personal, emotional level I find this situation to be a lot less extreme or significant or malicious, it still wasn’t right. Relations with a minor are inexcusable."

Well, I should rephrase, it seems like a case where he'll never be cleared again unless he has his doctors go to bat for him. Generally these guys need to jump through a lot of hoops to get WWE to consider clearing them again, and it doesn't always work.

Jason Jordan and Tyson Kidd have both been denied the chance to return multiple times. Although in the case of the latter I'm relieved because his original injuries were so bad that a simple fender bender could've left him in a wheelchair. I'd have a hard time watching him wrestle again and not cringing at every bump.

Ring of Honor and Sinclair are currently facing a lawsuit from former ROH wrestler Kelly Klein over allegations of discrimination, harassment, unpaid royalties, and unsafe work environment conditions during her time with the company.

Besides ROH officials, Jay Lethal was also named in her lawsuit over allegations of him committing sexual harassment towards her and other female wrestlers in the company.

Former ROH star Kelly Klein has filed a lawsuit against the promotion and parent company Sinclair Broadcasting, alleging discrimination and harassment among other things. Heel By Nature reports that Klein filed the lawsuit against the companies on Wednesday ...

The 28-page lawsuit alleges that ROH breached their implied contract with Klein, owes unpaid royalties, violated state and federal Equal Pay acts, and discriminated against her, harrassed her, and operated an unsafe work environment. Named in the lawsuit are Gilleland, ROH creative director Hunter “Delirious” Johnston, ROH COO Joe Koff, and Jay Lethal.

Klein alleges that ROH created an environment through negligence and “illegal actions” which resulted in injuries to herself and other talent, noting that she was injured during a match on September 16th, 2016 and that “Nobody employed or engaged by Defendants checked on Klein’s condition and no medical staff was available to evaluate her.” She says she reported the injury to BJ Whitmer, the agent who put the match together, but that no medical treatement was made available to her. When she told Johnston she was going to seek pain treatment, he “did not offer any information, guidance or information regarding treatment” and she had to seek treatment at her own expense without any reimbursement or attempt to reach out to her by ROH regarding the injury.

She goes on to detail other injuries she suffered in 2018 where there was similarly no medical personnel or treatment made available, and said that she told announcer Ian Riccaboni in December 2018 that many of the female talent didn’t feel safe working with other women wrestlers “who were reckless and not properly trained” and Riccaboni said he understood, but that Todd Sinclair, who was the main booker for women’s matches, “really liked those reckless women wrestlers but that he would have a talk with him about it.” She says she spoke with Sinclair in late January 2019 about her safety concerns and that Sinclair said he hadn’t heard about this before “despite Klein previously overhearing another performer complaining to Mr. Sinclair about certain wrestlers being reckless and unsafe.” Sinclair allegedly said that the women in question were only booked for a few more dates. She said she had a similar conversation with Sinclair, Johnston, and other agents after a March 2019 match in which she was injured, “but the conversation fell on deaf ears" ...

She also alleges several instances of discrimination, including the fact that all female wrestlers were paid a lower wage “than their comparable male counterparts.” She alleges that Jay Lethal approached her in January of 2017 when she was in a hot tub at a hotel where the talent were staying after an event and “while leering at her in a way that made Klein uncomfortable, started harassing her by asking her questions about whether her boyfriend was there, if she was staying in the hotel alone and how long she would be at the hotel.” She says that after she got an email a couple weeks later saying that Lethal would be the new agent working with female talent, she responded and said she had seen and experienced several situations involving him that made her uncomfortable and was not willing to work with him, asking that another agent be assigned to her matches ...

Klein says that in July 2018, Sinclair spoke with Klein about other female talent’s complaints about Lethal, and she told them about her interaction with him. She says that there was no previous investigation as they were not told. She also lays out several instances where she spoke with ROH management about disparate treatment between male and female talent including creative storylines, pay, and more. She alleges that she asked Gilleland about her salary in December of 2018 and wanted a raise to $24,000 a year, and he rejected it because he would have to pay all female wrestlers the increased pay as well. She notes that “This salary was substantially below the salary that the male wrestlers were paid and the decision to pay the salary was based upon the fact that Klein was a female” and that she was “asked to make more appearances, with no limit regarding the frequency of appearances, than the other female talent.”

She claims that when she met with Koff about pay equality and sexual harassment, Koff said that he thought the situation with Lethal had been resolved, when nothing had been done. An HR employee for Sinclair was present and she says she brought it up to HR, including the fact that management revealed her name to Lethal despite there being no formal investigation, to which Koff allegedly “stated that there was no documentation for the 2018 claim and that HR was only for employees and she was not an employee.”

Klein is seeking $75,000.

I mean it's not too surprising, dude was an offensive lineman and those guys are fat out of necessity and their coaches don't allow them to drop weight. They have a crazy high daily caloric intake.

Most linemen's weights drop like a stone in retirement.

I just wanted to say a few things on Question Mark (R.I.P.) I didn't watch much of his stuff as Jocephus, though he played a fairly major role in the NWA early on in the revival (He injured Tim Storm's Ribs, allowing Nick Aldis to win the title).

But Question Mark proved that everything that's old is new again. It was a masked gimmick that borrowed more from the more traditional American masked men than Lucha Libre. The American masked gimmicks usually fell into 3 categories: 1. A character in and of itself (See: Destroyer, Grappler, Masked Superstar), 2. A regular star that everyone knew was a regular star and the mask was half the fun of it (See: the Bullet, Stagger Lee, The Midnight Rider) 3. A way for a job guy to get a second payday (See: Any number of Executioners, the Galaxians, etc.) Question Mark started off as the second group (everyone knew it was Jocephus) that surprisingly became a star in his own right. Nothing about it should have worked, but it was a perfect fit for NWA and it stood out and the charisma sold it. It was both an Ironic and an Unironic thing.

Last two wrestling T-shirts I bought were the "Uncle Tony's Waffles and Tire Irons" shirt (I made it a work meme) and the "Kara-taaaaaaaaaaay" shirt. Had the Pandemic not hit, he may have ended up as National Heavyweight Champion.

Rest Easy Joseph. You had one hell of a run.

ROFL @ this comment in the chat.

"You know, they say all men are created equal, but you look at Ronald Beswick-Diaz and you look at Joseph Wendall Parker, and you can see that statement is not true! See, normally if you go chasing another man with a car 50-50 chance of killing him. But he's got a gun , and he's shooting, so Joseph got a 25% at best at escaping ! And then you add that the sheriff department is closed? Your chances of survivin’ drasticy go down. So, in the end there's a 33 1/3 chance of wiinnin’. But Ronald has got a 66 2/3 chance of killing , cause Joseph is just gonna run ! So, Joseph, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus the 25 percent chance, and you got an 8 1/3 chance of surviving! But then you take Ronald's 75 perchance chance at killing’, if we was to go without cars , and to add 66 2/3 ch… percents, he's got a 141 2/3 chance of killing Josepg ! See, Parker; the numbers don’t like, and they spell disaster for you !"

According to the Observer, the NWA is currently expected to make a big announcement soon and its related to why all of their content was suddenly removed from Youtube.

Meltzer mentioned that this upcoming announcement is actually something good for the company and not a negative one based on what he's been told about it.

The NWA’s YouTube channel currently has no available content. Dave Meltzer wrote about the situation on our forum: “I was told it will be something announced in the next few days which is a good thing. Would not have to do with AEW.”

Legendary wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. reportedly is in a very dire health condition due to him recently suffering from liver and kidneys failure.

On Saturday's Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that legendary wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. is in "grave condition" as both his liver and kidneys are failing.

"It's not looking good," Meltzer said.

Nothing else regarding the 76-year-old's condition is known at this time.

Wrestling was in Crockett Jr.'s family as his father founded Jim Crockett Promotions which Junior took over in 1977 after his father's death in 1973. Before that, he was an short-term owner of two minor league baseball teams. He became NWA President in 1980, the first of three terms he served in that position over the next 11 years.

During his second term, he purchased the Saturday night time slot Vince McMahon owned on WTBS and the rest is history. JCP eventually re-positioned itself as the NWA as he owned six territories and was president of the organization.

He sold JCP to Ted Turner in 1988 who renamed the organization World Championship Wrestling. Once again, the rest is history. He flirted with getting back into the business several times, but instead settled on a life outside the business in Texas.

As you asked so politely about my Roman-Samoa Joe angle...

It would have started at Survivor Series with Roman facing Drew in the Champ vs. Champ match with Joe as part of the commentary team. As a "Raw guy" Joe would obviously be pulling for Drew (because it's "The one night of the year where Brand Loyalty is even mentioned").

Roman takes exception to this and turns up on Raw to confront Joe. The angle is that Joe is virtually the only Samoan wrestler to make it big and not be part of the Anoa'i family. The tension builds between the two until eventually Joe turns up on SmackDown during a Roman match. Joe hops in the ring but attacks the guy Roman is facing (let's say Owens given the timeline). Roman welcomes Joe into the Tribe.

Joe becomes the "Protector to the Tribal Chief", where essentially he is the barrier between Roman and his challengers. You have to beat Joe to take a shot at Roman. You can play this out a few ways; I'd have Roman not defend the belt for a while as nobody can get past Joe. You can have Roman occasionally "Show Up & Win" after Joe has already taken them out.

You can end this in 2 way; essentially the Batista push with Joe realising he has beaten pretty much everybody and maybe he should be the No. 1 Contender/Champion/Tribal Chief, or, ideally, The Rock shows up, you have Rock and Joe face off until Joe recognises Rock as the True Tribal Chief, he steps aside and lets Rock go at Roman. You then do a Joe-Roman programme for post-Mania.

The Rock-Roman programme doesn't need much added to it as it writes itself, but I'd have Roman drop in the "it doesn't matter" line. "I bust my gut for each and every one of you, but it doesn't matter", "I came back from a life threatening illness for you, but it doesn't matter", "I run this show, but it doesn't matter. It's still his show."

Wonder if it was an intentional decision to keep the music going or a "happy accident" that lent itself to the angle to a degree (was rarely after a match anyone would get attacked when their music was going in those days), these days it would immediately be cut.

NXT rumored to move to Tuesdays after WM

Assuming its true, surprised WWE will actually be backing down from the Wednesday Night Wars.

Its going to help NXT a lot but also a hit on the egos of Vince and Triple H who probably didn't think they'd be in a lesser position against AEW for this long. Only other real time Vince/WWE ran away with their tails between their legs was over the backlash from the Black Saturday incident in he mid-80s.

To be fair a bit, not like they had that much of a choice since NHL and the rest of NBCSN sports properties are moving soon to USA Network and NXT was at risk of getting preempted a lot if they remained on Wednesdays in prime time.

He was working with a shady promoter on a wrestling event that would be associated with a women's charity which also has been discovered to be shady.

Managed to fool a lot of people by only putting his first name on the talent list and the promoter keeping all of the talent booked for the show in the dark over his involvement. Since several people from AEW were booked for the show, everyone assumed it was Joey Janela as the mysterious "Joey" person.

Once it got revealed its Joey Ryan instead, a flood of online backlash and anger towards the promoter happened and people booked for the show started pulling out.

Worst case scenario for Ryan would be if one of the suits is to be tried under California law. Because, if it's the latter, there is going to be a countersuit because CA has some serious "Anti-Slapp" laws on the book. Stephen P. Neu (sp? Cornette's lawyer) is looking to find that out.

If it wasn't for the lawsuit being moved to a new jurisdiction, the lawsuit he filed against a former ROH wrestler would have been the biggest contender of that situation happening.

The person he's suing had to open a fundraiser to help with his legal costs and he has been outspoken about the bullying legal antics Ryan has been doing towards his accusers.

Right now the courts seem more likely to just dismiss or move Ryan's lawsuits to proper jurisdictions instead of allowing them to be heard in California. One got dismissed but can be reopened, another ended in default judgement but also can be reopened, and a third one got dismissed from California but moved to Pennsylvania.

For those with a WWE Network account, WWE won't be changing their policy for uploads of new episodes of RAW, SD, and NXT on NBC's Peacock service.

None of those 3 shows will air live weekly on the service and will stay at 30 days delay for new episodes of RAW & SD and the day after for new episodes of NXT.

For those wondering about the migration of WWE Network to Peacock later this month, the FAQ page on the streaming service has some clarity.

The page lists that Raw, SmackDown and NXT will all keep the same on-demand window with Raw and SmackDown, having 30 days from the original airing and NXT will continue to be added, the next day.

Does anyone know for sure if ALL CONTENT that is currently on the WWE Network will be accessible on Peacock or is it only going to be selected material? This is one question that I really would like to know the answer to.

Lol, anyone could have seen Joey Ryan being a piece of shit a mile away. I don’t think he’s the only one, but he’s been the one rumbled.

All that's literally going to happen is you're going to have to click on Peacock, then find the WWE logo to click on to open the WWE Network exactly as it exists right now. I would be shocked if it's more complicated than that.

Right now, it is under their "sports" category and the offerings are limited. Presumably that will change.

Here is a screenshot (https://imgur.com/a/hpX7fCE) of a search for "WWE" I did as I wrote this post. I tried embedding, and it shows up when I preview the post but disappears when I post it, so just use the link there.

Infamous sexual abuser/harasser Joey Ryan tried to sneak his way back into wrestling and almost managed to be successful with his con.

Joey did this knowing it would get trashed and cancelled so he could try and use it as evidence against the dozen of women he assaulted and is now suing as proof he cannot make money because of it.

This is the "dick flip" guy right? Did he actually get caught doing some bad shit? Not surprising if he did.... probably started "living the gimmick".

Based on the timeline of some of the allegations I think it goes back earlier than that. He'd always done a lot of intergender wrestling and somewhere along the line worked out that he could do a gimmick that would get lots of women to touch his dick.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was both based on the reactions and stories from some of his long time friends who were caught off guard over the scandal.

The gimmick probably was just some dirty comedic bit he came up with at first as part of his gimmick change into a sleazy character on the indies but wasn't meant to be sinister in nature like it eventually became.

Him getting the Pornhub sponsorship is probably where the turn happened and he started to get more brazen with the gag. I remember watching a match he had against Tessa Blanchard I think where he flat out stopped the match just to tell her to grab his dick in front of everyone but said in a comedic way in order to lessen the suspicion.

TakeOver on a Thursday is going to be weird.

I'd assume if WWE is actually doing a virtual Hall of Fame event this year, its probably going to be on a Tuesday based on it being the only free day left in Mania week.

I saw it mentioned on twitter that Peacock is not available on Amazon Fire yet, that seems weird and also potentially problematic for users of Fire if it isn't before the Network switches over.

I believe the only Territory promoters still alive are Vince McMahon, Ole Anderson, Terry/Dory Funk Jr, Bill Watts and Jerry Jarrett. Not many left.
