Damn, this shit is writing itself.
Or maybe a kid. Bret walks wearing shades, but sees this kid in the corner and puts his shades on him before proceeding into the "ring".

I thought about about an owen hart reference, you know, because it would be hilarious, but couple that with a kid in a corner and that story takes a very dark turn
I bet some people are into that shit. Accidental death, rape, kid watching is probably qualified as pedophilia. Add an animal and it's a full house. Well, four of a kind, but that's just semantics.

Apparently its possible to download any show from the new GFW Network due to whoever designed the Network was really sloppy with the source code. Made stuff that shouldn't be visible in the Network's webpage code actually visible to anyone who visits the website.
Pretty much reveals the direct links to where the content is located on GFW's servers making it really easy to download things which shouldn't be the case normally.

Turns out the source code is even worse of a mess since apparently its also possible to have a paid account without spending any money.
Apparently on the GFW streaming site, not only can you download the unprotected mp4s in the source code as was mentioned earlier, but you can access the subscription content by changing a line in the source code from "locked" to "unlocked".

Also, the best Michael Cole has ever been. When they put him on NXT just to talk shit about the whole thing because they clearly gave 0 fucks about it. Your lead announcer being completely annoyed at the concept of the show he's announcing on is a horrible decision wrestling-wise but amazing niche entertainment-wise.

I completely agree with this assessment. Heel Michael Cole was a bad decision on the main roster and on stuff you want to be "canon," but his work in NXT was gold. Even when it seeped into storylines and he got the crap kicked out of him by Daniel Bryan didn't bother me. Didn't make Bryan look particularly tough, but it was fun.

Seems another reason for Baron Corbin's backstage heat is WWE finding out last month he's also one of the former NFL players currently suing the NFL in regards to concussions and CTE.
They only found out after Corbin had the heated talks with their head doctor who was the NFL's former head doctor.
"It also came out in the discussion that Corbin was one of the players suing the NFL in a concussion lawsuit, which makes things weird given he's now working as a pro wrestler. "Plus WWE apparently wasn't aware of this fact until this past month."

I like Corbin and all but him being involved in that law suit makes me reconsider. Can totally see Vince jumping off his bandwagon after that and might have even been motive for the headbutt. Hate that a guy would bring a lawsuit against something he knew was possible when he signed up for football. I believe it should be in athletes contracts that they know the risk involved and wont sue the league later.
Emperor Smeat
09-13-2017, 10:09 PM
Main reason for the lawsuit by form players is them claiming the league didn't inform them of the dangers of concussions and CTE while also trying to downplay or hide the seriousness of CTE.
NFL already got outed once before on trying to sabotage government studies on CTE because it likely was going to expose the NFL being really wrong on their claims and stance for concussions.
Reason the WWE and NFL are connected is due to the head doctor of the WWE was also the former head doctor of the NFL. He is a well known big critic of concussion studies and the effect CTE has on brains.

In my opinion the NFL, WWE, and whoever shouldn't have to inform these athletes of the dangers involved. It should really be common sence. To sue an organization that paid you way more than the average citizen for a concussion you knew was possible is completely ludicrous in my opinion and and shame. As I've said should be in their contract that they won't sue.

Apparently Kofi Kingston got injured again during a house show on Wednesday. Hurt his knee from a botched crossbody spot during a tag match against Ziggler and Corbin.
SmackDown Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston may have suffered a knee injury at last night's WWE live event in Honolulu, Hawaii. While teaming with Big E to retain over Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler, Kofi missed a crossbody and was seen limping after the spot. He did get physical after the match but our correspondent noted that he seemed to be in pain. Kingston was then helped to the back.

He's actually tapped twice to Kurt (at least), too. No Mercy 2003. Was watching that on the Network last night for (of all the possible matches) Zach Gowen v. Matt Hardy. It was Zach's only clean win in WWE, and according to "Wrestling With Wregret" vis-à-vis his recent video on Gowen's career, as he basically was pissing everybody backstage and in the locker room off by being pretty egotistical about his success.

According to the Observer, gambling sites and casinos are seriously considering dropping the ability to bet on WWE matches. They pretty much are aware who are insiders in the WWE and WWE wrestlers who bet a lot on their own matches.
SummerSlam could be the final straw since the losses were huge for at least one gambling company.
There was someone who gets all the WWE finishes that made a killing at SummerSlam because not enough smart money came for them to adjust the line, and also, none of the actual finishes were changed at the last minute. He did a $3.36 parlay on ten matches, all of which he got right, and won $45,600. That was a key thing where I mentioned after the show that a lot of the gambling sites were considering dropping WWE because insiders that knew could make a lot of money and that level money was ridiculous. The company that got hammered hasn’t done parlays in a long time, and won’t be doing them again. It was noted that the one guy alone may kill the landscape because companies don’t want to open themselves up for those kind of losses in what is usually considered a minor fun thing of having odds on pro wrestling matches. It also should be noted that there are WWE talents betting heavily which is where some sites recognize and switch the odds when those bets come in

Anyway, I've been a big fan of hers since I saw her at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 and a part of me really doesn't want to see her make the jump to pro-wrestling but the other part of me thinks that she's accomplished pretty much everything in her field, so why not try something new.
I really think she will make the jump though. I'm expecting some sort of announcement from her or the WWE pretty soon.

Seems the mystery WWE game Jerry Lawler alluded to during a recent episode of Dinner With The King podcast show likely is for mobile devices. Also likely the same company Lawler claimed was doing scans of wrestlers backstage during SummerSlam.
Reliance Games announced a multi-year agreement with the WWE to develop a mobile game featuring WWE Superstars and Legends including Dwayne Johnson, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Goldberg, John Cena, HHH, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.

Wait. Cena has tapped? I do not remember that ever happening. He never gives up..or so I thought.
As far as I can remember, Cena hasn't "tapped out" since his first WWE Championship victory at Wrestlemania 21. Although, he has lost via submission to Rusev and Kurt Angle ever since. He has definitely tapped out to Jericho, Benoit, and Angle in the past.
I was a bit disappointed with the headbutt that Vince took on the Sin City SmackdownLive episode. Not only was it unnecessary, it sends a conflicting message backstage. I remember reading Chris Jericho's book and how Vince fined Batista a hefty amount for blading during a cage match on RAW.

He is someone who could really do with being sent to NXT being repackaged with the possibility of being recalled to the main roster.
Wouldn't know how it would work with his contract though , guessing he brings In more than most guys on the NXT brand and whether they would think he was worth doing that with .
I've never really seen his work from before apart from a few matches in TNA but from what I heard he's worth persevering with.

I've heard mixed things. Some people love him, some people think he's really bland. I wonder if he was kind of misrepresented to Vince a bit. A lot of people think of him as a traditional WWE-mold guy, but when you look at him, he really isn't.

To be fair a bit, he's also currently dealing with trying to get clean from a drug addiction which is why he's barely been used in recent weeks. Having access to WWE's rehab program has helped him out a lot.
The "Power of Love" gimmick is pretty terrible but WWE has only spent very little time building it due to outside issues. Even then, everyone usually speculates and jokes he only got hired because he came as a package with Maria who the WWE was interested in a lot more and for a longer time.

Interesting thought, though...
The original Kingdom are all WWE talent now...
Listening to Batista's interview on Jericho podcast, I found myself scratching my head as to why the WWE would not be receptive to someone of his fame and Hollywood success? A final feud with Hunter doesn't seem like the worst thing ever. Besides, there's a good chance that Batista might be well received by the fans with respect to his success in the Guardians franchise, Spectre, and the upcoming Blade Runner film.

From what he said on the podcast he wants a better final run. He wasn't happy with how WWE handled his return; he was adamant he should return as a heel but they tried to force him as a babyface.
To be fair the timing of his last run was unfortunate. The crowd wanted Daniel Bryan - and only Daniel Bryan.
It's a totally different scenario now. Not only is Bryan off the table (and there's nobody the audience is really getting behind), but Batista is becoming a bonefide star in Hollywood, his role as Drax will likely score him some points with audience where there is crossover.

Funny that: I remember giving WWE too much credit, as I thought that's what they were banking on since they want so badly to make a homegrown Hollywood star factory that they were trying to bank on him being over as to why they tried to forcefeed him as a face to try to ride that proverbial gravy train of cross promotion/mainstream media attention Vince has always been super fond of...
...but then later learning that important folks in the company thought Guardians of the Galaxy was going to flop, and it was just a piss-poor booking decision backed by nothing.

But Figgy hit the point I was trying to make square in the head. WWE wasn't paying attention to a trend that has been popular for like the last decade? Even if it wasn't the runaway success it turned out to be, management pretended it was going straight to SyFy with 3am timeslot and Bat's career trajectory make less noise in Hollywood than HHH did in Blade 3.
They had the perfect timing to make him the type of "part-time/big match" attraction Brock Lesnar is now, and do nothing but raise the profile of everyone with a de facto pimping of his movie... but instead wanted to shoehorn him as a full time top babyface only because he "fit the mold" when nobody was having it and couldn't care less about what was going on outside of their bubble, as seems to happen more often than it doesn't.

Mr. Nerfect
09-19-2017, 07:22 AM
I think he understands "wrestling." NXT is actually a booked show, with certain talent being protected, belts meaning something, etc. He's also got a lot less time to fill, fewer PPVs, talent move on, and it honestly hasn't always been that great. It's just been better comparatively. And it's left quite a few talent completely unprepared for the real world of WWE.
And when Triple H is up there, he is still that ego-driven performer. He sprayed his stink all over that initial Kevin Owens title win. I honestly don't know how far it'll go before he ages another 20 years randomly and that will be it for him. I could see him selling and retiring to an island somewhere.
Maluco
09-19-2017, 10:07 AM
There would need to be less wrestling on a weekly basis for them to have any chance of booking consistently good shows and storylines. It's all filler and replays and the same matches over and over again.
Two hours each for Raw and Smackdown and one joint PPV a month to build towards. That way certain match's can have time to breathe and you can do an 8 week build for some feuds.
Less is more.

I know they really want two women's divisions, but even if they were insistent on keeping two, I'd like the Four Horsewomen on a show together. That can then be "their show." It'd make sense to have Carmella on that one, which means that she'd be your "Diva" in the ranks, which would mean that Alexa Bliss would go to the other roster, and she can rule there if you are really intent on pushing her. That can also be the Nikki Bella show. Naomi can be there too, and I guess Nattie can be the "real wrestler" in the ranks. Keep Nia Jax with the Horsewomen and have Tamina on the other show. I think by splitting up the Horsewomen you can of ignore a natural synergy that is there to explore, and it's frustrating to try and see shows go in other directions and kind of lose sight of those core players.

Just dawning on me... Did Triple H and Test even have a match after Triple H married Stephanie?
How the fuck do you have a wrestling storyline where a dude interrupts a wedding by showing the groom that he drugged the bride and married her against her will and not even have a match between the guys? lol

He had a tag match with Kane against Xpac and Triple H which he lost but that was it.
He would try to attack HHH outside of matches but DX would jump him so he would focus on them but generally ended up losing each match against them. Shortly after he formed T&A.

Seems the future of Lucha Underground could be decided as early as the end of October. Last update from the Observer in regards to finances and a 4th season doesn't look good.
Main issue is the group who funded both Season 2 and 3 pulled out and no replacement has stepped in for the funding LU needs to continue. Another issue is contracts since some talent have already been able to get out of its strict terms and others hinted they want out the moment this season ends.
Going to be a real shame if they do end up shutting down since they were very entertaining as a promotion.

Is Alistair Black any good? I find myself so uninterested in the whole super-serious disciplined warrior nonsense. It's been done by CM Punk, it was kinda done by Seth Rollins. They all look the same, they all have the same styles, I just find myself not interested in it at all.
Plus, unless you're actually a gimmicky character (so a competitive martial artists type doesn't count), kicking something out of someones hand and then sitting down cross-legged with a super serious look on your face just seems daft to me. Kinda has me

I has these weird feelings about his initial presentation. He got this big superstar entrance, which is good, but I liked that things were treated with parity in NXT, and he broke that. I think he wrestles too "normal" for a guy who is given that kind of vibe. I dunno, maybe he will develop. The foundations seem there, but he does carry that indy stinky a bit.

I remember when he debuted they did this thing where he stepped outside and when they interviewer walked out to catch him, he had vanished. Seemed like they were going for a "supernatural" thing with him but I haven't seen anything like that since.

The less Black talks the better, I don't know how good he is cutting promos, nor do I care, but hold off any extended promos for as long as possible.... His mystique and style will sell more than him talking ever could (see: Shinsuke Nakamura)

Ye stay away from the promos in case he sounds like Goldmember from Austin Powers.
In all seriousness I've enjoyed his matches so far , he comes across as a legit tough guy, I think at first they were toying with a Black Magic gimmick and was alluded to with his ring wear and on commentary etc . Also I am a fan of his theme music .
I do think he would struggle on the main roster to be a tough guy as he isn't Braun size etc and also they would need to do some major character development to sell him the the audience. At the moment his thing is he can kick hard aka Shinsuke.
For those in the know how was his work as Tommy End in the indies ?

Never really saw any of his Tommy End stuff outside of the UK tournament showcase match with Neville but he's been pretty good overall in NXT. The match he had against Kyle O'Reilly is a really good showcase of his style as a tough type fighter in NXT.
His occult/Satanism stuff mostly just enhances his presentation rather than being a real focus of his character like with Bray Wyatt. Think Black mentioned in interviews about only wanting it to help enhance his character's mystic than actually come off as a Satanist. Can see the main roster writers competently screw up his character and make him into another Bray-like character when he gets called up.

He's got a solid body of work, but I never thought he was mind blowing or anything. What I always love when a dude is signed by WWE is that the smaller promotions release YouTube free videos so here's a few. He had an awesome match with Hero at PWG, but PWG are just big enough to not have to give their shit away for free...

I like it.
I don't know about the "Sakura from Street Fighter" sounding "YA!" but the theme is good anyway.
Personally, I quite like Aiden English's theme.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XAoYOBKd0r4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Now I would say "if only they gave him an entrance to show off his new theme" but as the theme is only really 1:17 long and it doesn't try at all to hide the fact that it loops, I can see why they have him just appear in the ring with his spotlight and sing. Doing that alone works for him, so it's all good.
Benjamin & Gable's theme has also been uploaded with English's and Emma's themes but it's really shit and there's no need for it to be nearly five minutes long when it reality, it's only a forty second instrumental that's been looped about fifty times, so I'm not posting it.

She was also at SmackDown this week as her "Stories" on Instagram showed various parts of the show (which actually ruined the Tag Team Championship match for me) and WWE.com has a story about her visiting the Performance Center.
http://www.wwe.com/shows/wwenxt/article/olympic-gold-medalist-erica-wiebe-wwe-performance-center
She has fat arms and looking at her fat arms would put me off my dinner.
Triple H's got wrinkles on the back of his head.

That's nothing compared to Ezekiel Jackson's head.

According to the Observer, WWE still hasn't reached sold out status for tomorrow's No Mercy ppv and that's with Reigns-Cena and Strowman-Lesnar as the marque matches.

This has actually been a big problem for the WWE this year with most events either not selling out till the weekend off or not at all. Even the resell or secondary market for tickets has been weak this year for WWE ppvs (and some Takeover events).

There are lots of problems with WWE right now. The stakes are low because of major booking problems. The stars they do have are stale within the context they are being used. The brand split leaves things inconclusive and diluted, but the problems were there way before that. The WWE is eroding all its hangover "good will" (if you can call it that) from the Attitude era. People still watching are older fans who are beginning, finally, to tire. You could probably do a case study on the half-life of nostalgic fandom with the WWE product as a barometer.

he was in the Honor Rumble at #20. Kazarian won it and faces Cody for the ROH World title. I marked out for his entrance.
His entrance was great and the only good quality of Glacier, to be fair.
I used to mark out for his Sub Zero entrance as a kid as well.
