I know that was a typo, but Callahan did stink in NXT. They didn't play to his strengths at all, and I think they attempted to just add bim to the collection.
Well, his strengths involve capitalizing on almost accidental murder. He should be avoided.

I've been listening to the Solomonster Sounds Off podcast lately. I generally agree with a lot of his views. Also gave a few episodes of the Stick to Wrestling podcast a listen. Does anyone else have any wrestling podcasts they like to listen to? I'm looking for some new stuff. Prefer fan podcasts or more analytical things. Don't really like listening to wrestlers interview each other that much. Unless there is a really good one I am forgetting?

Stick to Wrestling is 1/2 good. John McAdams sounds great. Sean Goodwins has had some bad audio issues on his end.
It's no Breaking Kayfabe with Bowdren and Barry. (great one)
Are you missing the 605 Superpodcast, THE MOTHERSHIP?

John McAdam is one of my favourite people to listen to..
SlickyTrickyDamon, check out his three part Boston Garden series with Kris Zellner's Exile on Badstreet podcast. Really great.
Sean Goodwin makes the podcast borderline unlistenable. He keep shouting into the mic like he has autism or something.

So I passed out at around 10 last night and woke up at 5 30am. Nothing to do, so I decided to watch something from my collection for the first time in a while. Watching the November 26th, 1984 MSG show. Love 1984 so much. Midway through the show. So far the matches have been:
-SD Jones over Charlie Fulton in an alright match
-Moondog Spot over Jose Luis Rivera in a squash
-Bobby the Brian Heenan! over Salvatore Bellomo in a match that sounds way more interesting on paper than it was.
-King Kong Mosca over Mr.Fuji by dq in a match that can only be described as a miracle
-Cowboy Bob Orton over Swede Hanson in a bleh match
Tonga Kid /w/a returning Jimmy Snuka vs Roddy Piper/w/ Cowboy Bob Orton is next.

Crowd is INSANE for this match. Tonga Kid (Tama from Islanders) was so bloody over and he's only 18 years old here. Too bad he got a big head and started no showing events. What a waste of talent. Match ends in a double dq when Orton and Snuka get involved. Legit 4 star match. Next month they come back with Snuka and Tonga Kid vs Piper and Orton, which sadly signals the end of Jimmy Snuka being a pushed guy.

I really wish they'd let Amato have at least one match on WWE television.
IIRC, she was offered a spot in the women’s battle royal at Mania and she turned it down. They were using NXT women to fill out the match and she didn’t want to take a spot away from any of her trainees.

Triple H having daughters has probably helped too. He wants Aurora-Rose to be able to main event a Mania someday.
Maybe that's the real reason why Triple H is so behind the Women's Division now?
He wants Aurora to main event WrestleMania and be the face of the company but he doesn't want her rise to the top to be seen as being because of who her mother and father are, kinda like how people said that Triple H's main event run between 2002-2005 was because he was "married to the boss' daughter".

Not so many images and gifs this week.
Raw:
• Raw is in Oakland, Ca and the first match is Rob Van Dam vs X-Pac and Oakland really seem to hate X-Pac.
Their chant of "X-Pac Sucks" was probably one of the loudest chants of the night. It was pretty loud.
• A shoot promo by Vince now and he's talking about Austin walking out and the crowd is chanting "What!?" after every single thing Vince says. I actually forgot how annoying the "What!?" chants were but the funny thing is that at the time, I don't really remember finding the "What!?" chants annoying.
I also lost count how many times Vince said that Austin helped build the company.
Vince then acts like Steve Austin has died by toasting him and leaving the can in the middle of the ring.
https://i.postimg.cc/xCXVTFb9/z1.png
• Jeff Hardy vs Raven now and this match is happening because of what happened on Heat last week when both men had a match and Jeff got himself disqualified because he choked Raven with a camera cord.
I remember those days when Heat actually mattered and it just wasn't a glorified Raw Recap show that it eventually became.
It was also good to see Raven have a match. I always liked Raven.
• Booker T and Goldust backstage now and Goldust can actually do a pretty decent stereotypical English accent.
Also, we see the boom mic in shot.
https://i.postimg.cc/zf5fv5J8/z2.png
• Chris Nowinski's debut vs Spike Dudley which he won.
• Flair is in the ring cutting a promo and Austin's music plays which makes the crowd go mad. It quickly changed to Eddie's theme which makes the go a different kind of mad.
Eddie says he was scheduled to face Austin at King of The Ring but I didn't know this as it was never actually announced on TV.
Thinking about it now, I actually would have liked to have seen that match.
• Vince is backstage and Chris Nowinski comes into the room to introduce himself. He basically just lists off everything he's done at Harvard. Tony Garea then calls Vince to tell him that "He's on his way" and Vince can only assume that "He" is Austin.
• Trish Stratus & D'Lo Brown vs Crash & Molly Holly was another match taking place because of what happened on Heat last week. Crash challenged D'Lo to a match even though D'Lo was working commentary that night and D'Lo won the impromptu match.
After the replay of what happened on Heat, we had this shot of Trish and Lawler basically said that he would love to get Trish's breasts in his mouth.
https://i.postimg.cc/sx38G6MB/z3.png
During Crash & Molly's entrance, we see a replay of last week on Raw when Molly Holly choked Trish with Trish's own panties. Lalwer does what Lawler does when panties are on screen and JR said to Lalwer that he (Lawler) would love to be in those panties and wear them because "that's the kind of guy he is".
That was not an image anyone wants.
Anyway, D'Lo and Trish won.
• Undertaker vs Matt Hardy was next and during the match Jeff interferes and both Matt and Jeff are attacking Undertaker.
Raven then runs to the ring to save Undertaker from The Hardy Boyz.
That is also a sentence I thought I would never type.
Undertaker & Raven then work together (again, I thought I would never type that) to beat down The Hardys.
• Another "Get The "F" Out" video is played and it was one I don't think I've ever seen. It was about a woman visiting a surgeon.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7sRmYZdKCGo" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
This is the only one of the "Get The "F" Out" videos that I have no memory of, so I can only assume it was edited out of Raw & SmackDown for some strange reason when they were shown over here.
• Brock Lesnar vs Booker T is the main event and the only things worth talking about really are Nash & Michaels on commentary with Michaels coming across as a legitimate douche and also this creative but misspelt Booker T sign.
https://i.postimg.cc/LsR0bQVx/zx1.gif
"SPiN-AH-RONi"
• Vince is in the ring and calls out Austin but Tony Garea runs out and tells Vince that "He" is not Austin.
Vince then asks who "He" is and The Rock's music hits and the crowd goes wild.
The Rock cuts a promo basically saying that he's back a month early because Austin walked out.
SmackDown:
• Just like Raw last week. This weeks SmackDown is "flipped".
• Kurt Angle kicks the show off with a promo.
https://i.postimg.cc/zf6p1dwm/z4.png
Also, doesn't the smiling guy in the glasses look like TPWW Legend, Xero?
• The first match of the night is Rikishi vs Christian and Rikishi wins but Christian's foot was on the rope and the referee didn't see it and this makes Lance Storm come out to complain to the referee.
A break finishes and Lance Storm is with Christian in the ring and he has a mic. Storm cuts your basic Anti-American promo and this promo is pretty much the beginning of The Un-Americans.
• Triple H is being interviewed and decides to break the fourth wall.
https://i.postimg.cc/d03vf06H/zx2.gif
During the interview, he makes more gay jokes about Billy & Chuck.
• Jamie Noble vs Billy Kidman is next and it's a Number One Contenders Match for the Cruiserweight Championship.
Before the match, we found out that Nidia wears Hurricane's mask (which she stole last week) over her own underwear.
Noble won the match and Hurricane attacked him from behind and took his mask back.
• During the Billy/Triple H match, Tazz said the word "ass" but he wasn't censored, however, whenever wrestlers say ass during promos either backstage or on the mic, the word is censored.
• During this exchange, Tazz reminded of Simple Fan:
Michael Cole: What's gonna happen on Raw this Monday night live from Cleveland the night after King of the Ring!?
Tazz: I don't know. I work for SmackDown, that's my concern.
• Backstage, Stacy Keibler brings in Finlay and Big Johnny who look like some kind of office tag team.
https://i.postimg.cc/pXB9jqdD/z5.png
Vince asks them to each bring Undertaker and Kurt Angle to him and later they're all talking and it leads to a fight with Vince getting caught in the middle of Angle and Undertaker.
Finlay and Big Johnny then pull Angle away and out the room.
I actually found the fight a bit funny when Angle gets pulled off Undertaker and Vince is still rolling around on top of Taker, who is trying to get up and you just hear Undertaker say "Vince, get off me!" and then the look on Vince's face as he rolls off of Taker.
https://i.postimg.cc/htr3HWtf/zx3.gif
In case you miss it in the gif, here is Vince's face:
https://i.postimg.cc/VNv4pJhV/z6.png
• I'll leave you now with a random sign from one of the two shows, with it being one from Raw aimed at Brock Lesnar.

Apparently WWE bought a few special emojis on Twitter for tonight's Evolution event. Problem is not only did it give away the main event of the show, it also showed they only care about the main event and nothing else.
#WWEEvolution, #RondaRousey and #NikkiBella got the special treatment while everything else tonight got ignored.
Stone Cold Becky threw a little shade at the WWE because of it afterwards.

Earlier today Cody Rhodes took on Delirious aboard Chris Jericho's "Rock & Wrestling Rager Cruise". Following the bout, Cody took the microphone and addressed the crowd. Wrestling Inc. can confirm that during his address, Cody told the cruise full of fans that he had no intention of signing with WWE. He also promised that he will be doing everything in his power to bring everyone an All In 2.
While things could change 2-3 months from now, that does add a bit more fuel to the speculation of another All In event being held next year.
WrestlingInc did have an article recently about the future for All In could be known very soon due to the Patent Office wanting some clarity with the Young Bucks trademark for it. Supposedly the wording makes it unclear if the Bucks actually want to keep it beyond the first event since that affects how long the trademark is valid and their legal rights regarding merch sales.

We might get Brock Lesnar vs AJ Styles 2 this year at Survivor Series.
Mr. Nerfect
10-29-2018, 09:54 PM
I guess there was no point in getting inventive when it came time to putting stuff together for Survivor Series. It's very easy to just throw four champion vs. champion matches at the wall without any care as to who comes out looking like what.
* Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles II
* Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch
* Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (I might actually track that one down)
* Bobby Roode & Chad Gable (random guess) vs. The Bar
Then you'll probably get Team Triple H vs. Team Shane again and maybe that rumored Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels match. Throw in one with SmackDown women against Raw women and you can call it a night off.

When I think of my three little girls that'll be in the audience tonight, 12, 10 and 8, it's for them, it's so that when they grow up, there doesn't have to be a "first ever", it's just the way that it is.
That's what today is all about.

KING OF THE RING 2002
• Seeing the big electric chair set makes me miss distinctive and elaborate PPV sets.
• So coming into the event, the bracket was as follows:
https://i.postimg.cc/X7BsXt6c/zz1.png
• The first match of the night is Chris Jericho vs Rob Van Dam which was a good match and it had some good spots too. This Release German Suplex on RVD was "pretty sick" (as the kids today would say).
https://i.postimg.cc/L8Bw6GjQ/zzx1.gif
I also enjoyed hearing JR actually call the moves. Split Legged Moonsault, Release German Suplex, Spinning Heel Kick, Running Bulldog, he called them all, which was so good to hear and it's actually one way how I (and I'm sure many others) managed to learn the names of moves as a kid.
I don't know how kids these days learn the names of moves as all they get from Cole & Co. is "Oh, what a move that was!". It seems like only finishing moves and sometimes signature moves are called and everything else is just referred to as "a move".
I guess the only way to learn the names of moves these days is by playing WWE games.
• The next match is Test vs Brock Lesnar and during the match, I remembered how much I disliked Nick Patrick back then, as I never liked the way he counted pins as he would always place his hand under the shoulders of whoever was getting pinned and then when he reached the count of two, he would push up their shoulders with his own hand and he did it so blatantly. He didn't even try to hide it.
Example:
https://i.postimg.cc/xjJZbXKz/zzx2.gif
Also, I never really liked his voice either. It was really rough and "gravelly" and just didn't sound real at all.
There were just times where he actually ruined some matches for me as he would give away the outcome with his pin counts. If he placed his hand under the shoulders, the match is continuing, if he didn't place his hand under the shoulders, you knew that was going to be a three count. It kinda took the surprise element out of the match.
• After the two matches, the bracket looked like this:
https://i.postimg.cc/mrpdP4kj/zz2.png
• Interview time and JR informs us that Marc Lloyd from SmackDown and The Coach from Raw are outside their respective brands locker rooms, ready to interview the rosters inside but he gets Marc Lloyd's name wrong and calls him Greg (Or Craig) Lloyd.
Coach goes into the Raw locker room to ask the Raw Roster who will win the final. Bubba cuts a promo saying how good Lesnar is, even though just a week or so earlier, he hated the man. That appears to have been forgotten about now.
After, Marc Lloyd is about to go inside the SmackDown locker room but Lance Storm and Christian walk out and complain about the final being an all American final when it should have been an all Canadian final. They then continue to do the usual Anti-American promo and build up to the formation of the Un-Americans.
• Cruiserweight Title Match (AKA Lawler pervs on Nidia)
Vince & Co. must have been big on Jamie Noble at the time as not even a month after his debut, he had a title match at a PPV and won.
The Hurricane makes his entrance and debuts a new mask.
I was actually looking forward to watching this match but Lawer just took all of my attention with the crazy stuff he was coming out with.
Here are eight examples:
1) This one isn't so crazy but during the match Lawler asks JR if he's ever lived in a trailer/mobile home and JR says yes which surprises Lawler who can't get his head around it. Lawler then spends the next two minutes asking JR "Really?" about four times and also asking JR how big it was. You could tell by the tone of JR's voice that he was actually proud of living in a trailer/mobile home and that it was no big deal to him.
2) A "she's a crack whore" chant starts that's directed towards Nidia and during the chant JR says that Nidia looks like that she needs a shower and the chant is short lived but after it, Lawler (of all people) says (sounding legitimately unhappy/disgusted) that he wants "everybody to disregard that unflattering chant" but then right after that he says to JR "I bet you'd like to take that shower with Nidia". JR (sounding actually a bit pissed off) says "Oh stop! She's young enough to be my daughter!" and Lawler says "You say that like it's a bad thing".
3) After seeing Nidia squat down to talk to Noble under the bottom rope, Lawler mentions he likes how Nidia squats and that she has "great balance".
4) Lawler also implies that The Hurricane has a small penis and that's why Nidia left him.
5) JR says "I'd like to focus on the in-ring performance" and the camera then focuses on Nidia to which Lawler says "I'd like to focus on that right there!" and then "Nidia will perform in the ring if you wanted her to JR".
6) Lawler says that he wishes that could have gotten The Hurricane's mask that Nidia wore over her crotch.
7) The Hurricane grabs his cape that's hanging on one of the ring posts and Nidia takes it from him. Lawler then says "I'd like to see Nidia wear nothing but that cape!".
8) Nidia distracts Hurricane by kissing him, which surprises Lalwer and he says "Come over here Nidia!" and JR says "Yeah, Uncle Jerry's looking for ya!" and Lawler's reply is "JR, you're only as old as the women you feel".
• Eddie Guerrero vs Ric Flair now and Flair's theme appears to be dubbed with some kind of knock-off James Bond theme, even though on Raw his theme isn't dubbed.
During the match, Flair had some kind of erection.
https://i.postimg.cc/sDzJDxKy/zz3.png
Later in the match, Flair just randomly starts bleeding even though nothing touched his forehead and he didn't blade. He actually just began bleeding out of nowhere.
Flair wins the match thanks to Bubba randomly appearing through the crowd and interfering by hitting Guerrero with a Bubba Bomb.
• Molly Holly vs Trish Stratus for the Women's Championship is next and the funny thing is, I knew the outcome (obviously) but a few days ago I was reading the title history of the Women's Championship and saw that Molly beat Trish at King of The Ring and I thought to myself "damn, spoilers", so in a way, I spoiled what I already knew.
I still enjoyed the match though but seeing Trish back then and and then seeing her now, it's such a drastic change.
Time just hasn't been her friend and it's a shame really. Molly Holly on the other hand, still looks good. Sure, you can see she has aged slightly but it's nowhere near as drastic as Trish.
• Hulk Hogan vs Kurt Angle now and during Angle's entrance we see this sign:
https://i.postimg.cc/4xmHJTCs/zz4.png
Lalwer thinks it says "say no to rags" but JR corrects him. Lalwer then asks "what are they talking about?" as he can't understand what it's referring to and JR helps him out.
I can see why Lawler would think it said "say no to rags" as the "u" isn't clear as for some reason, every letter on that sign is a capital letter apart from the "u" but at the same time, why would someone bring a "say no to rags" sign to a wrestling event in the first place?
Anyway, later in the match Lalwer asks if JR knows the nationality of the man Angle beat to win the Gold Medal at the 1996 Olympics and JR says Iraq and Lalwer agrees and says "that's right!" but they're both wrong as he was actually from Iran.
Abbas Jadidi is his name. There's a little "fun fact" for you.
Near the end of the match, Lalwer (for some reason) implies that older fans of Hulk Hogan can't get erections. He says "old Hulkamaniacs are like old fishermen. They can't raise their poles". After some silence, Lalwer asks JR "Get it?".
Angle wins by making Hogan tap out and even though Angle spent around five minutes during the match without his wig on as Hogan took it off of him, he still picks it up and wears it after the match.
• Backstage we see Booker T and Goldust and later, The Rock. I must have really liked Booker T and Goldust back then (and I did) as I remember all their skits (including this one) so vividly.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/izRoAbfS41Q" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Goldust stole it for me with his little actions and movements and generally acting like a child whenever The Rock scolded him.
• The King of the Ring finals between Brock Lesnar and Rob Van Dam is next and I really don't remember the match being as short as it was.
It was only around five minutes or so.
• The main event now between Undertaker and Triple H for the Undisputed Championship and halfway through the match, everyone including the referee is down and The Rock makes an appearance but it's only to chase Paul Heyman away from the announce table who's been saying that Lesnar took out The Rock backstage.
The Rock reaches the announce table which makes the three women behind JR and Lawler go absolutely hysterical. They just didn't stop screaming.
https://i.postimg.cc/Kj0420J1/zzx3.gif
Nick Patrick then enters the the ring to replace Earl Hebner and knees Hebner right in the head in the process.
https://i.postimg.cc/JzD0fcJh/zzx4.gif
In the end, The Undertaker wins with a roll-up.
• Finally, in the spirit of Nashvember, I'll end with an image of Kevin Nash from the event, sporting a T-shirt that tells us which day of Nashvember it is today.

I think DC called it the WWE title or something.
I just realized how relevant Dolph Ziggler has become since being traded to RAW and being associated with Drew McIntyre. Maineventing PPVs, pinfall victories over notable names, and championship victories.
Speaking of world titles, Dolph Ziggler wasn't recognized as a former 2-time World Heavyweight Champion during the World Cup series at Crown Jewel which felt odd since similar accolades were acknowledged for the other competitors. Also, I hope that the WWE continues to distinguish between the WWE Championship and the defunct World Heavyweight Championship and not make them interchangeable (like Cole did for a while).

Was he considered a one time champ?
IMIO he should only be considered as a one time champ.
At Crown Jewel, he was announced as a 3-time collegiate wrestling champion, 6-time Intercontinental Champion and a WWE Triple Crown Champion.
WWE does recognize him as a 2-time World Heavyweight Champion. I'd argue in their favor since (in comparison) Randy Orton's first WWE Championship reign was also a result of being awarded the title by Vince McMahon at No Mercy '07.

The World Tag Team Championships could only be held by two men. They were Kenny & Mikey. They were defended by the others under the Freebird rule, but Kenny & Mikey would be the ones who lost the titles if that happened.
It's only been since The New Day won the WWE Tag Team Championship that all the members of a Freebird unit at recognized as individual champions.

The way he delivers it seems different as well, he used to really put a lot of spin into the move but now he seems to just push them up and off him. Not as much rotation in it anymore. The people taking the move also don't seem to go as rigid as they did so they're more prone to landing on their knees and falling over on the mat. Good example is Strowman the other day at Crown Jewel:

June 24, 2002 - Cleveland, OH
• Raw starts with the roster (mostly mid-card, women and jobbers) around on the ring apron and Vince comes out.
This is his "Ruthless Aggression Speech".
The crowd starts drowning him out with "asshole" chants so Vince has to start yelling into the mic. He continues to basically talk about how great he is and how he "took on every wrestling promoter throughout North America" and that he "kicked every one of their asses" and also how he defeated the American courts.
He said it was because of "Ruthless Aggression" and in doing so, almost scares the shit out of D'Lo Brown, who I guess wasn't expecting Vince to lunge towards him yelling "Ruthless Aggression".
https://i.postimg.cc/LsCvgsRN/za1.gif
Vince later asks who on the roster has "Ruthless Aggression" and he says that it's Brock Lesnar, which makes me think that this whole "Ruthless Agression Era" started when Lesnar won King of the Ring and it was all built with him in mind to carry the company but it soon changed from Lesnar to Cena.
Vince makes a match for tonight, Bubba Ray Dudley vs Eddie Guerrero and then he walks over to Jeff Hardy and points at him and that's enough to get the women to start screaming their heads off. Vince then says Jeff's name which makes the women pop louder.
Hearing all the women in the arena scream their heads off for Jeff Hardy is one of those things I've always associated with him. Watching him as a kid I would kinda laugh to myself and roll my eyes whenever I heard the women scream for him and I still have a little smile now when watching old shows.
Vince then makes Jeff Hardy vs Underaker for tonight and bans Matt from ringside and he is just about to leave the ring when the nWo appear. Shawn Michaels has the mic and basically buries the entire roster.
I don't know if it was just him getting into the role of being an nWo member or if this was legit Michaels but I never really noticed how much of a dick Shawn Michaels was back when he returned.
Booker T then grabs the mic from Vince and cuts a short promo on the nWo basically saying they suck. Goldust enters the ring and tells the nWo that he and Booker T are "tight" and that they're like brothers and then that they're practically married which gets the crowd laughing (and I remember that moment so vividly).
Booker T challenges any member of the nWo and Vince instantly rules out Shawn Michaels who lets us all know where he thinks he and Booker are in relation to each other by doing this:
https://i.postimg.cc/xT2GCmM9/za2.gif
HBK: "You low, me high"
Again, I don't know if this is legit Michaels being a dick or not.
Vince then rules out Kevin Nash because he's not 100% from his bicep tear injury.
Vince then randomly threatens Nash by saying "by the way big man, if you, Kevin Nash, don't live up to expectations, you could be joining the unemployment line with your buddy Scott Hall!" which drew a really loud "OOOHHHH!!!" from the crowd and this was Nash's reaction:
https://i.postimg.cc/TY3wCYXr/za3.gif
I don't know if that was a work or not but Nash really didn't look too pleased at that.
Vince then makes X-Pac/Big Show vs Booker T/Goldust for tonight and Booker T ends the 15 minute opening segment with a Spinaroonie.
• First match of the night is a tag team match and it's Bradshaw/Spike vs Regal/Nowinski
During Nowinski's entrance, Lawler pulls out Harvard's 2000 Yearbook and shows Nowinski's photo but at the same time, shows the entire world Nowinski's home address.
https://i.postimg.cc/C1wY5mhj/zaq1.png
We can only hope that Nowinski wasn't still living there at that time.
In the end, Nowinski pinned Bradshaw.
• We then see Vince backstage and he tells Sgt. Slaughter to tell Tommy Dreamer and Raven that they'll be facing each other tonight and that the loser will never be seen on Raw again (random, but I liked it).
Vince enters his office and we see Jackie Gayda wearing a big trench coat.
After talking to her, Vince makes another tag team match for tonight. Molly Holly/Jackie vs Trish/Linda Miles (even though Linda was on SmackDown last time I checked).
Jackie then takes the trench coat off (because why not?).
https://i.postimg.cc/qMJLwnRj/za4.gif
• After that, a vignette plays for Mysterio's WWE debut.
• We then see a skit I remember so vividly with Goldust (there's a surprise) where he is Steve Irwin.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZceP9BmKOlQ?start=14" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I remember this skit, with the parts I remember the most being Goldust saying "Oh Gnarly", calling X-Pac a "grease rat" and saying "be very careful, they tend to suck!" before throwing his plastic crocodile at X-Pac and running away.
After seeing The Hardy Boyz quietly split up backstage, we rejoin Goldust being chased by X-Pac.
Goldust runs into a room and as X-Pac follows him in, Booker T whacks him over the head with some kind of metal plate and it made a hell of a noise as it went over X-Pac's head, so I can only imagine that it actually hurt.
Booker T then calls a now unconscious X-Pac a "little kangaroo koala jive wombat".
• Dreamer/Raven now and Dreamer won which was a short but good match and as Raven leaves, he's attacked by Matt Hardy in the parking lot.
As Raven was leaving, the WWE Network's player froze and I had to skip ahead by ten seconds to get it working again. After that, the video quality was pretty bad so I'm guessing something went wrong when they were uploading this episode to the network.
• Later in the show we have Trish/Linda vs Molly/Jackie and you could tell that this match was mostly made to give Linda & Jackie some live ring time as they only really did your basic moves such as dropkicks, hip toss' and wrist locks.
Lots of wrist locks.
I did notice however that during the match, Jackie looked really lost and out of place. She didn't really look confident at all, whereas Linda on the other hand looked the exact opposite.
It surprises me to think that later down the line that Linda was mostly relegated to being a manager with The Basham Brothers whilst Jackie (even though she was a manager too) continued to have a fair amount of matches and is still wrestling today but she is semi-retired and she still has a decent relationship with WWE as they did invite her back for WrestleMania XXV.
Linda on the other hand retired in 2004 and has absolutely nothing to do with the world of wrestling.
• Backstage with the nWo and Shawn Michaels decided to look at us all at home for a split second.
https://i.postimg.cc/QM11hxCF/zaq2.png
• X-Pac & Big Show vs Booker T & Goldust
Just before the bell, Lawler questioned why Goldust called X-Pac a "grease rat" and he then said about Booker T that "you can fry chicken in that hair, it's so greasy".
It was a good match which really showed that the crowed were really behind and invested in the team of Booker T & Goldust at that time.
X-Pac and Big Show won.
• Main Event time now and it's Rob Van Dam vs Brock Lesnar for RVD's Intercontinental Championship.
However, not long after the match started, a fan was getting escorted out of the crowd and it looked like it was by police and not arena security, as they looked too formal to be arena security.
They were wearing white shirts with what looked like a badge on them and it looked like they had radios but there were also men wearing black polo shirts (like what your usual arena security guards wear).
Anyway, it was caught on the hard camera and the fan was taken off screen but a couple of seconds later there was a very loud "OHHHH!" from the crowd and then everyone stood up and looked towards the stage where the police/security took the fan.
We then saw police/security running from the area behind the announce table towards where the fan was taken and the camera angle even changed from the hard camera to a cameraman at ringside and we stayed with that camera for fifteen seconds.
https://i.postimg.cc/J025tYL0/za5.gif
I can only guess that the fan (possibly drunk) began fighting the police/security or another fan.
https://i.postimg.cc/28XZW9KF/Smack-Down-Logo.gif
June 27, 2002 - Chicago, IL
• Just like Raw, we start the show off with Vince McMahon, who introduces Kurt Angle. Angle enters the ring and Vince leaves which then makes me realise that we had Tony Chimel introduce Vince McMahon just so Vince McMahon could introduce Kurt Angle.
Angle willingly takes off his wig and as a result, everyone takes pictures and we now have the arena flashing like a main eventer's finishing move is being preformed.
Angle then issues a challenge to face anyone and then some guy called John Cena appears.
Angle wins and after the break, we see Faarooq, Rikishi and Billy Kidman backstage congratulating Cena. The Undertaker then appears and does the same, shakes his hand and I'm left feeling like I'm watching cutscenes from a SvR story mode with a newly made CAW.
• Tag Team Championship Match with Billy & Chuck facing Hardcore Holly & Big Valbowski (because reasons?).
Billy & Chuck won but even though the team of Holly and Val was random and the fact they got a title shot was random too, I actually like that sort of thing.
• We return from a break and Torrie Wilson comes out in her underwear and at the top of the ramp, walks to the the left of the stage and then the right and that was it.
We then seemed to return to our normal programming.
• Undertaker comes out and cuts a heel promo on The Rock and Triple H but then Kurt Angle comes out and Undertaker begins to cut a very face orientated promo on him. It then got me thinking that Undertaker shaking John Cena's hand at the beginning of the night was the beginning of his face turn.
So right now, Undertaker is something like a tweener.
• We return from a break and Torrie Wilson comes out in her underwear again and does the exact same thing as she did before.
Not that I'm complaining, really.
• We then have Test vs Rikishi and I'm pretty sure this match took place as a way to build up Test joining Lance Storm and Christian and forming The Un-Americans, as throughout the match Test kept having altercations with the referee and then Test accidentally hit the referee which caused him to be DQ'd. Also, the most obvious sign was Tazz constantly (and not very subtly) reminding us all at home that Test is Canadian.
The most obvious reminder being Tazz referring to Test as "The Canadian named Test".
After the match, Test argued with the referee and tried to attack him but Rikishi saves the day. Lance Storm and Christian then try to save Test but Chiristian gets a superkick from Rikishi as soon as he enters the ring.
We return from a break and see the Lance Storm, Christian and Test backstage get that little bit closer to forming their stable.
• Noble/Tajiri vs Kidman/Hurricane is next and during the match I realised that the women who won Tough Enough (pre 2010 revival) didn't really have much of an active singles career and were only really "successful" as managers, whereas the men that won Tough Enough (pre 2010 revival) went on to have decent singles careers.
Men:
Maven - Decent run over four years which included three Hardcore Championships.
John Morrison - Great run over nine years which included two Slammy Awards, five Tag Team Championships, three Intercontinental Championships and one ECW Championship.
Matt Cappotelli - Very talented individual who everyone was high on but a brain tumour ended his career but he still stayed with the company in some capacity for four years.
Daniel Puder - There is always one that's not like the others and for the men, it's Daniel Puder. He was only with the company for a year but he kinda screwed himself over by being a massive prick.
Women:
Nidia - Spent three years with the company and the majority of that time was as a manager to Jamie Noble. She also didn't win any championships.
Jackie Gayda - Spent three years with the company and the majority of that time was as a manager to Rico and Charlie Haas. She also didn't win any championships.
Linda Miles - Spent two years with the company and the majority of that time was as a manager to The Basham Brothers. She also didn't win any championships.
• Anyway, back on track now and after the match we see Torrie Wilson on her way to the ring to do what she's done twice before tonight, but she comes across Stacy Keibler who tells her she's going to go out on stage in her underwear.
Torrie then challenges her to see who the crowd will like best.
A break finishes and Torrie comes out and basically shows her ass off and is then interrupted by Stacy Keibler, who in turn is interrupted by Dawn Marie who cuts a promo on them and manages to start a fight between Torrie and Stacy.
• Reverend D-Von & Batista ("Deacon" has now been dropped) vs Faarooq & Randy Orton and this is Batista's in-ring debut.
I don't know about Batista's fire crotch attire though.
https://i.postimg.cc/J4gs0Dsp/zaq3.png
Throughout the match Michael Cole kept pronouncing Batista's name like "Ba-tista" and not "Batista" like everyone else, although we all know that he eventually pronounces it right.
The match was OK with the highlight being a pretty brutal looking clothesline:
https://i.postimg.cc/ZYWBSxRW/za6.gif
D-Von/Batista won with Batista pinning Orton.
• After the match Michael Cole and Tazz advertised the WWE ShopZone catalogue and it reminded me of the days when I would get the WWE EuroShop catalogue delivered to my house when I was a kid.
I actually think I still have one but it's up in my loft somewhere.
• Main Event time and it's Hulk Hogan vs Chris Jericho.
Since starting this, I found myself now skipping Hogan's entrances for two reasons.
1) I really can't stand his badly dubbed theme.
2) Recently, his entrances have always been long as all hell. Five minutes of it is usually just Hogan doing his ear thing in the ring.
Jericho gets himself DQ'd by smacking Hogan over the head with a chair and he then is about to hit Hogan again but Edge returns by mimicking Jericho's entrance. He then runs to the ring and attacks Jericho.
During the attack, Tazz is talking/yelling but then the audio quality of his voice suddenly changes to be more clear and he also sounds more relaxed and somewhat robotic (as if he's reading lines) as he says "Hogan's feeding Jericho to the vengeful Edge" and it's pretty obvious that that line was recorded after SmackDown and then added in. Also, the word "vengeful"
isn't really something Tazz would say, so I'm pretty sure it was lines Tazz was reading.
Edge then Spears Jericho and Cole pretends to be Paul Heyman watching a Rhyno match and yells "Spear! Spear! Spear!".
The show closes with Hogan and Edge doing Hogan's ear thing.
• I'll end with a classic. Signs.
One is a misspelt sign and the other is a sign that makes you think "why?".
