That woman just keeps getting hotter and hotter. I'd love to see her be the main focus of her pairing with Dana, and have Dana sort of "sit under the learnin' tree" so to speak. You have to beat Dana to get a match with Emma.

Cesaro should be the in-ring pillar for the company. Maybe he won't ever be their biggest merchandise seller, most over personality, or biggest star -- but he should be protected and presented like a major deal moving forward. If they need to have Flair come in to achieve that, then they need Flair to come in and help them achieve that.

If Flair were to put together a team of great in-ring guys that maybe represent the old values of the NWA/WCW, it could be a pretty cool angle. Charlotte would be hanging around with them, and that means that Becky Lynch could be an associate member. Cesaro, Ziggler and Curtis Axel immediately come to mind for it.

Sin Cara vs. Kalisto at Survivor Series may not move the needle too much, but Hunico deserves a chance to be the heel he never got a chance to be after Sin Cara Negro.

Probably a sign of how much the recent injury plague is making the WWE panic. Went from a supposed zero interest in having Bryan ever wrestle again for them to now a possibility because of the desperation for big stars.

According to The Wrestling Observer, the very latest on Daniel Bryan’s WWE in-ring status is that company officials are waiting on the results of a third doctor’s findings as it pertains to Bryan potentially returning to the ring.

As noted, WWE Doctor Joseph Maroon concluded in the past that Daniel Bryan should not wrestle again due to the number of concussions he had suffered. However, Bryan sought the advice of his own doctor, who works with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, and that doctor concluded Bryan’s brain tested above average for his age and cleared him to wrestle.

The Observer is reporting that the third doctor’s results might already have been submitted, as Vince McMahon is said to be going “back and forth” on whether or not to put Bryan back in a WWE ring.

Been saying this for awhile... especially since Emma still travels around with the main roster....

In my perfect world, Paige & Emma go over in a tournament final against Becky Lynch & Natalya to become the reinstated WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. The Bella Twins and Trish Stratus & Lita are semi-finalists in the tournament (and the presumed finals by many when the matches are announced), but they cost each other their matches and have a more personal feud.

You have Naomi & Tamina and Billie Kay & Peyton Royce all floating around. Charlotte and Sasha Banks could be your defining singles feud, with some of the other girls working with them in between big matches. But the Tag Titles could provide more goals for the girls, who have rotating allegiances anyway.

I've also changed my stance on the WWE re-instating the Cruiserweight Championship, or even trying to create a puro feel to it by bringing back the Junior Heavyweight Championship.

In the past, I've been of the opinion that a title with a weight-limit is not going to be booked correctly in the WWE, and puts a ceiling on certain guys. But dudes like Neville, Tyler Breeze, Kalisto, Sin Cara, Primo, Epico, etc. all seem to have a ceiling anyway, if we're being perfectly honest with ourselves. Maybe they can eventually break out, but giving them a title to feud over for the meantime wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Present this champion like they are a real deal in their weight class, and you might have something. I imagine Neville could possibly be your first champion, but Breeze wouldn't be a bad pick either.

If the brand split was still around, you could put them all on one show (SmackDown?) and if you want a guy like Finn Balor to come up and not waste his time in the division, you can insert him on RAW and push him as an open class guy there.

Sonjay Dutt recently went on some place and said that streaming services like Netflix would be problematic for wrestling because a consumer could binge-watch the product and be done with it. Does anyone else disagree with this? I feel that Netflix would be the holy grail for a show like Lucha Underground right now. I don't feel that binge-watching would lead to people going off the product -- in fact, I'd suggest it highlights an immersion which implies you have that fan hooked.

In terms of non-taped weeks, this week's RAW had around 50k more viewers overall compared to 2 weeks ago although 3rd hour was lower. In terms of show rankings, RAW took the #4-#6 spots in the Top 10.

Former WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella is trying to avoid going under the knife to fix the bulging discs in her neck.......and Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned the injury could have ended her career.

Sources close to the situation tell us the discs are pushing on Nikki’s spinal cord — and she’s got extra fluid in her central nervous system — which means taking another bump could have paralyzed the 31 year-old “Total Divas” star.

We’re told Nikki Bella is hoping constant rehabilitation on her neck will heal the injury, instead of getting surgery, and she’s been working on it up to 8 times a day.

No word on when she’ll return to television.

Topps has announced a new WWE trading card series, Undisputed, that will be released on Wednesday. How are you enjoying your wrestling career at the moment? You've recently been filming a movie and you changed your twitter handle to your real name. Are you still as heavily invested in the business as you have been in the past?

I'm still as passionate about wrestling as I ever was, but I think it's inevitable that at some point in your career you've got to start looking for things outside of wrestling. I'm not going to wrestle forever, though I certainly feel that I've got a lot of time left in me if I want to. Maybe at some point I'll be taking a career break, I'm not sure.

I've done some movie work lately and that's an area I really enjoyed and would be looking to explore. Certainly in terms of acting and doing things outside of wrestling, that's something I'll be looking to do more of in the not-too-distant future.

It's pretty much official today, which has seemed likely since ROH lost prime time, Destination America will be dropping all its pro wrestling programming. ROH announced its new expansion in syndication into a number of key markets today in conjunction with the news of being off DA.

Totally, it's almost reminiscent of WCW's way of having main eventers only work with main eventers, cruiserweights with cruiserweights etc. At the end of the day they all work for one promotion, all in one arena, there's no reason we should realistically have more encounters like this.

Yesterday, Charlotte's mother expressed her disgust on Twitter for the angle. On Ric Flair's newest Woo Nation podcast, Ric said he was never contacted by WWE about the angle in advance, and said he cried while watching it. In an attempt to remain as political as possible, he said Charlotte was not in the position in her career to say no to any angle, that if he was a fan he wouldn't have liked it and that he wouldn't have booked something like that himself. He said at the end of the day, he was still going to be at Survivor Series and he thought the two girls were going to have a great match and that would lead to people forgetting about the angle.

Also, despite reports to the contrary, Ric's co-host Conrad said the story that the angle was Charlotte's idea is one hundred percent false.

Flair very clearly wasn't happy with the angle, and wasn't approached prior or after it happened on television, saying "I never heard a word about it. I started crying when I was watching." He reiterated that Triple H, Stephanie and Michael Hayes wouldn't do anything to intentionally hurt Charlotte.

Recently, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin talked about Seth Rollins' injury on the Steve Austin Show - Unleashed! During the show, Austin said that Rollins' injury is an opportunity for the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion to retool and come back with a different attitude. Austin said that he still believes Cesaro will put the pieces together and get over in spite of WWE. Also, Austin claimed that Roman Reigns should follow in the footsteps of the Rock and have a heel run before turning babyface as the company's top star ...

On the subject of Rollins' injury, Austin stated that getting sidelined with an injury is a good opportunity to assess the lay of the land and come back refreshed.

"It might be the same Seth Rollins or it might be a Seth Rollins with a little bit of salt and pepper or a Seth Rollins who comes back full of piss and vinegar and vengeance and is on a mission because his whole world, literally, got yanked out from under him. Yeah, it was due to an injury, but because everything has changed when he comes back he has that much more impetus to go back and reclaim the gold. So he could come back with a whole different mindset and a whole different attitude. It's almost a chance for him if he needs to retool or reinvent himself to some degree."

The episode was taped before last Monday's RAW, and when Austin was told that Cesaro was going to face Reigns in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament, he replied, "oh jeez, you know where that's going!" Austin stated that he still believes that Cesaro will put all the pieces together to get over with the fans, but WWE isn't doing him any favors.

"I think the guy is just so damn good in the ring. I see eventually he will put all the pieces together, but [WWE is] not helping him any. He [has] got to put the pieces together to go up on top of the card." Austin continued, "Cesaro, you have hopes for because he can do so much [and] he looks so good. He only speaks 17 languages! He can go all over the world and promote for [WWE], so there [has] got to be a way to get this guy figured in a little more and get his ass over."

According to Austin, Reigns should turn heel before getting the number one babyface spot in WWE. Austin indicated that Reigns has the look and the body to be a top star in the company, but his in-ring work and promo skills must continue to improve.

"I think Roman needs to be a heel. Go through that journey and then evolve into a babyface. To me, it's almost going to mirror what the Rock did. [WWE] brought him in as a white meat baby. People hated him and they wanted to hate him. And then, all of a sudden, the Rock started taking over the Nation of Domination. He was the alpha male in that group. All of a sudden, the promo skills come alive. The character comes alive. The personality comes alive and he turned into the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. Now, I don't expect Roman Reigns to do that. I expect Roman Reigns to be Roman Reigns, but that's the road that the Rock went down. I just think, organically, that's the way it's going to play out for Roman Reigns. Now, you can try to put him in that babyface spot, that number one spot, right now to see what happens and I'll be very, very interested to see, if indeed, that's what they do because I'm just waiting on the edge of my seat to see what happens."

We've noted how even before Seth Rollins went down with an injury, WWE's goal was to have Roman Reigns win the WWE World Heavyweight Title and go into 2016's WrestleMania 32 season with the title. After Rollins went down, it was still planned and expected that Reigns would win the title at Survivor Series.

Over the past few days and this past weekend, there was a big push within the WWE creative team for Dean Ambrose to make it to the tournament finals and leave Survivor Series with the WWE World Heavyweight Title, according to PWInsider.

Either way, it looks like Reigns vs. Ambrose will be the Survivor Series main event. While there are a lot of people within WWE pushing for Ambrose to win, this does not mean he will as the final call is always made by Vince McMahon.

It will be interesting to see, if they do go with Reigns vs. Ambrose, if it's babyface vs. babyface or if one of them turns heel. No one expects Reigns to turn heel but there's a lot they could do with an Ambrose turn.

Why is John Cena gone right now? He announced on Twitter that he is hosting a new series coming to FOX called American Grit, a reality show focused on 16 contestants that will go through military and survival themed challenges. Given that UFC is also on Fox, you have to imagine there is some hope for cross-promotion and, dare we say it, a cageside interview? We have gotten reports that the show is being taped at least in part in Washington State.

With the spirit of honor and competition in mind, the athletes of Ring of Honor will be visiting the stars of New Japan Pro Wrestling at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on February 19th - 20th, 2016, just one week before the 14th Anniversary PPV in Las Vegas

Kotaro Suzuki is the 4th guy to recently leave AJPW, after KENSO, Akebono and Go Shiozaki.

In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Jun Akiyama, who is AJPW's President, revealed that the contracts were modified from guaranteed written monthly deals to pay-per-appearance, which was too risky for many wrestlers that needed to support families.

Akiyama stated that all of AJPW's contracts are now pay-per-appearance.

Akiyama said they would probably not be able to keep up such a busy schedule, and the author concludes by stating that AJPW is likely to stop touring across Japan, will stick to the greater Tokyo region, and is more akin to an indy like Pro-Wrestling ZERO1 at this point in time.

Similar to AAA in Mexico, Japan's AJPW has been having one of its worst years in a while.

Dixie Carter is in Los Angeles this week and the belief is that she is there for TV negotiations as the company looks to find a new home when their run on Destination America ends.

As first reported last week by Jason Powell’s prowrestling.net, WGN has come up as a potential new home for TNA. TNA had talks with WGN last yer before they finally settled with Destination America. For those asking, there is nothing to the Spike TV rumors. We emailed a rep at Spike TV and they tell us that there is no interest in bringing back TNA Wrestling ...

The other network that has come up in recent days is the POP TV network. POP TV currently airs Paragon Pro Wrestling on Saturday mornings. The belief is that Carter is in Los Angeles for meetings with them since their headquarters are in the Los Angeles area.

TNA’s deal in India would pay them a substantial amount of money so if they needed to buy their way onto POP TV (Paragon Pro Wrestling pays for their Saturday morning timeslot) then that would be an option and their India TV deal would keep them afloat. We were told that they are close to coming to terms with one network.


Bill Goldberg told Channel Guide Magazine that TNA had been contacting him with ideas. He noted that he did a movie where one of his main adversaries was Bram of TNA. He didn't seem like he was strongly considering the idea.
TNA has also been sending offers to Rey Mysterio to get him to sign with the company.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter had reported that POP TV, which has been airing Paragon Pro Wrestling weekly as a time buy, along with WGN America, were in negotiations for TNA. Of the two, the POP TV deal was considered the weaker station overall even though both stations were in similar amounts of homes.

It is an upgrade as far as reach is concerned, although POP TV is in closer to 75 million homes right now as compared to 57 million for Destination America. Finances were not disclosed which is the key when it comes to TNA, because there is little revenue coming in with the exception of selling the television show, since they almost never do live events that tickets are sold to, and PPV numbers are weak.
2nd time in a row that TNA took the lesser deal/station for bidding although they also supposedly have a huge sum of money coming soon from the India tour and deal.

Think the reason they went with DA over WGN was due to DA promising to purchase more shows and hours of content with their offer.

POP TV currently airs Paragon Pro Wrestling from Las Vegas early on the weekends and there's talk that TNA may pay for their own timeslot, then make their money back by selling advertising ...

PWInsider added that there is also a feeling within TNA that ROH was used by Destination America. This could be a valid concern or just paranoia but some in TNA feel that Destination America used ROH to prevent TNA Impact Wrestling from being renewed. Apparently when TNA signed a multi-year deal with Destination America, they had to hit a certain viewership mark in a certain amount of time in order for their 2-3 year automatic renewal to kick in. The feeling is that when TNA started to get close to that mark, the stories about Impact being canceled started coming out and then ROH was brought onto the network. The concern is that the rumors led to a drop in Impact viewers as fans saw it as a lame-duck product. Then ROH was signed and some people in TNA believe ROH was brought on to detract from TNA and to dilute the viewers, essentially preventing TNA from hitting that viewership mark and getting renewed.
The "TNA paying for their own time spot" rumor ended up being debunked by Pro Wrestling Sheet. Basis for the rumor regarded the channel itself being very heavy in infomercials and the spot TNA wanted being a prime time infomercial spot.

TNA Wrestling‘s switch to Pop TV may have shocked some of their fans Thursday … but it was their wrestlers who were most surprised — Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned they were left in the dark.

Multiple sources tell us the men and women in the locker room were first informed of the move to Pop TV when the announcement was made to the public … but surprisingly, most weren’t peeved.

We’re told some of the top talents were aware TNA had been negotiating with both Pop TV and WGN, but didn’t know specifics on which one the company had chosen. Unclear why Dixie Carter picked one network over the other, but our sources tell us the affiliation with CBS was a huge upside.

WWE will be releasing a statement shortly regarding Monday night's show-closing angle involving Paige and Charlotte (Ashley Fliehr).

The gist of the statement will be that the idea of the angle came from Ashley Fliehr, that it was taken out of the show, she was insistent that it be put in, and it was. However, the company did take responsibility for the angle since it was ultimately their decision to put it on the show.

The angle involved Paige referencing the death of Charlotte's brother Reid, who passed away from an overdose on March 29, 2013, and saying clearly Reid didn't have a lot of fight in him. The angle has been the most-talked about story in pro-wrestling since it happened, virtually universally negative towards the company. It was done to set up a Divas Title match on Sunday between champion Charlotte and challenger Paige at the Survivor Series PPV.

Neither Ric Flair nor Ashley's mother Elizabeth were alerted in advance about the angle. Elizabeth was furious and posted publicly on Twitter. Ric Flair on his Woo Nation podcast noted he was very upset when watching it, and indicated that Ashley didn't have the tenure to say no to any angles or storylines presented to her. Flair's co-host Conrad stated publicly that the rumors it was Ashley's idea were 100% false.
Dave Meltzer on the recent Observer Radio podcast completely trashed the WWE for this and their history when it comes to exploiting wrestlers death. Even thought the incident made ESPN look bad by association because Charlotte was the guest for this week's WWE segment.

Basically WWE trying to deflect as much of the blame away from them for the backlash from the Divas contract signing segment. Also confirms Ric Flair and Charlotte's mom were telling the truth about not being told what was planned.

WWE has in the case of talent and front office employees, when names have come out, even without a positive test from the company, suspended active performers and fired those who are not active performers. WWE also at times fires people, like with Fit Finlay and Alberto Del Rio, expressly letting them know that once it blows over that if they keep quiet, they'll be brought back. Many feel that will be the case here, given that Gunn was almost universally liked by the developmental talent and management. But with the ESPN affiliation, the company pretty much has a zero tolerance policy for anything that could give the company bad publicity, and a trainer who was suspended for four years from a sport fits into that category.

The WWE has been more aggressive of late when it comes to contacting contracted talent in both ROH and Lucha Underground. All the names you'd expect they'd want that are great workers are being contacted, without the previously held "looks" and "size" limitations because the plan is to load up on NXT and they're looking to add lots of new top workers in early 2016 for more extensive touring with what would basically be a WWE branded and WWE production type of show but with ROH level main event matches. A key, as was explained to me, is that Vince McMahon didn't want ROH and TNA talent on the main roster if they were exposed on national cable first, and if they could be merchandised. The issue with ROH talent and is changing was ROH getting on Destination America, which blind sided WWE. But that is not an issue when it comes to that talent working in NXT, where there is more of an emphasis on it being a workrate promotion and the big issue of the ability of the wrestler to pass the background check.

Don't think this is a coincidence, but WWE sent out a questionnaire to Australian fans two days after the UFC show in Melbourne asking if they would attend a major event in Melbourne and talking about doing a Fan Axxess, so it sounds like they are interested in a major PPV from there. If they did a Monday at Noon show, it would be in the normal Sunday at 8 p.m. Eastern PPV time. But with the network, it's not as important to start the PPVs at the usual time. They also could be looking at booking the stadium for a network special which could air on a Saturday night and use the Fan Axxess to make the event bigger, particularly if they are looking at filling a 56,000-seat stadium.

The Insane Championship Wrestling show on 11/15 at the SECC in Glasgow, Scotland, drew a sellout of 4,000 fans, which as noted, was the biggest crowd for a U.K. based promotion since 1982. ICW has been packing 1,500 seat buildings regularly, particularly after a BBC piece made a cult hero out of Grado.

Both TNA Impact and Ring of Honor will soon be gone from Destination America and it seems as if the fans are already wise to it.

The 9 p.m. airing of Impact on 11/18 did 202,000 viewers, down from last week’s 277,000 viewers. The replay did 78,000 viewers, down from last week’s 78,000 viewers. Overall, they did 280,000 viewers, down from last week’s 374,000 viewers.

ROH did 114,000 viewers, down from last week’s 172,000 viewers.

According to the Observer, Lana has a lot of backstage heat with the WWE at the moment and the recent Twitter Lana-Paige feud has pushed more towards the anti-Lana side.

I've given watching Main Event a go again. I've actually thoroughly enjoyed the past two weeks. Well, the matches anyway.

* Adam Rose vs. Jack Swagger was a pretty good match. Rose can talk and work. My enthusiasm for the gimmick died basically as soon as he showed up on the main roster, but you can tell they don't want to give up on him. He's got something there. Swagger was pretty over in the UK for a guy doing an American super-patriot gimmick. The dude can work and has got good size, although he doesn't look "ripped" these days. He also needs to either commit to the beard or not. I think the guy could use a trip through the re-packaging machine. Even if they put him in black short tights and let him be more of a "bruiser" or something.

* Becky Lunch and Sasha Banks had a hidden gem of a match. My God, can Becky go. Banks came out to Naomi's theme, which was annoying, but hers played at the end. I kind of like that advanced presentation. Makes her feel like a more produced deal.

* Brad Maddox made his WWE return! He's good on the mic, but he sort of just danced around saying anything important (he insulted the fans' intelligence, said he dyed his hair because "identity crisis" and that he and Rose wear black because they're "pissed off emos", which actually seemed to get a reaction). In the ring, he really impressed me. He showed good intensity and worked like an old-school heel. I imagined he would be shitter for some reason. He and Rose worked organically as a team. I much preferred them to The Usos, who I feel aren't the hot injection for tag team wrestling that the WWE thinks they are right now. I would have put Beef Mode over. Let Sheamus & Barrett win the tag belts from New Day, turning New Day face, and then have The Usos win the belts from Bad News, setting up New Day to take the titles, since they are the most over team.

* Titus O'Neil vs. Heath Slater was a well put together match. Slater is really good at what he does, folks. No, he's not Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock, but he went out there and made Titus look great and got some shine himself. He looks a little loose around the gut these days, honestly, but I don't know enough about physiology to know if that's just a stage of something. If these were the old territory days, Slater would be a tremendous carpenter heel to put over your face acts and maybe even make some money on top himself. He's just been treated as a joke by WWE for so long that we've been conditioned to look past just how solid and valuable he is.

* They gave Titus a really interesting presentation. They had recordings of Batista talking up the guy. Weird stuff. He honestly doesn't come off as well-spoken to me, and his "funny" segment backstage with Renee and Darren Young was pretty ugly. Someone should take out Darren Young and Titus goes to war with them, avenging his tag partner's loss of health. Then bring back Darren Young as a heel that's embarrassed Titus thought he had a right to fight for him.

There's the potential to turn Main Event into its own microcosm of interesting storylines and important matches (relatively). Sort of like NXT Redemption when that thing suddenly became weirdly awesome.

Usually a whole season will go up at once. But with rasslin they'd likely have to air a season behind while the current season is airing (like they do with current network TV shows).

During what would have otherwise been a run-of-the-mill call in to hype WWE's Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend and help a good cause, Paul "Triple H" Levesque gave us the first sign of a thaw in his company's cool stance toward Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan.

The Executive Vice-President of WWE was a guest on Portsmouth, New Hampshire's WHEB Morning Buzz show this week as part of their charity auction campaign to help the area organizations that help feed the hungry and homeless. Host Greg Kretschmar asked Trips if he thinks Hogan, fired and basically disavowed by the company since tape of him using racial slurs leaked to the public earlier this year, will return to WWE at some point.

And his answer is a subtle change of tone from what we've heard to date on the subject:

For me I hope so.

It's about reinvigorating his brand and him as a human being and the confidence within the world as to who he is. But the one thing about people in general, when somebody is on top they love to see him fall and when they fall they love to see him make that comeback. They're great stories and I think that's where people are.

Do I think he can be forgiven and make amends with the world and move forward? Yeah absolutely. But at the same point in time for us in that time frame you're putting up a message to the world of how you'll tolerate things and how you'll react to things. And we did what we needed to do and he'll do what he needs to do to get himself back.

And its not, to me, at the end of the day for him, how he's perceived by the world, him as a human being, I'm sure is a lot more important to him than anything else. And re-establishing who he is as a human being I'm sure is of utmost important to him and I'm sure he's gonna do it and when he does we'll go from there.

It's an answer that is careful not to commit to anything, but also that can be read as "we had to cut ties when the bombshell hit, but as long as more don't fall and he keeps apologizing, he'll be back". Because this isn't just anybody saying he hopes the Hulkster ends up back with WWE. This is Vince McMahon's son-in-law, a probably heir to the throne, and someone who has brokered returns for past estranged superstars like Bruno Sammartino and Ultimate Warrior.

Probably won't happen until after Vince gives up control to Steph and Triple H since he already promised the investors Hogan is no longer welcomed in the WWE. Last thing he'd want is to piss off more investors or cause some to doubt investing in the company if Hogan is around.
