The WWE Championship changing hands on television doesn't really happen that often, so having it happen twice in succession got me wondering when the last time that happened was and I found out that the last time it happened, was when Triple H won the championship on Raw is War in 1999 and then lost it to Vince McMahon on SmackDown.
We had to wait almost twenty years for that to happen again.

Also, before anyone mentions Rey Mysterio winning the championship on Raw in 2011 and losing it to John Cena five minutes later, I'm not going to count that as it was on the same night.
And also, it was a five minute "reign".

I don't think "Enzo Amore acts like a douche" is news.
News is supposed to be informative.

The girl claims that Sabu hit on her as well.
I think Miz can do it.
I think so too.
I think, as long as WWE lets Miz keep cutting killer promos, he could be a great face.

The girl that Ellsworth sent nudes to is enjoying the limelight quite a bit. That annoys me. She "should" have send her evidence to the police, instead true or not Ellsworth is a diddler.

Just read that James Ellsworth CATEGORICALLY DENIES ALL ALLEGATIONS. Case closed. I wonder why she'd try and do him like this?

She definitely is a bit obnoxious.
Remember when James got a boner while wrestling Asuka?

The story goes (according to her) is that he met her at a meet and great, asked her age she said 16 and then he kinda blew her off.
She added him on twitter and he told her to add him on snap chat, she did, and then he sent unsolicited nudes.
So apparently whether she looks older or not he knew she was 16.

So is David Arquette's wrestling career actually a real thing? I kinda just assumed he was doing the odd appearance for shits and giggles, but by the looks of it he's gone as all out as anyone on the indy circuit who knows they'll never be in the big time can go.

The girl that Ellsworth sent nudes to is enjoying the limelight quite a bit. That annoys me. She "should" have send her evidence to the police, instead true or not Ellsworth is a diddler.
Ellsworth should have been smart and only sent unsolicited nudes to people over 18 like Slik does.
If Ellsworth hadnt sent those nudes, she would probably just go on the internet and look for black cocks.
Ellsworth did a service.

I need to see the girl to be sure if he's a pedo or not. Lotta girls look 21 these days.
Should have waited until she was 17. 17 year olds are down for anything nowadays. They even like it when you go ass to mouth.*
She definitely is a bit obnoxious.

July 01, 2002 - Manchester, NH
• We start off with Lesnar and Heyman and Heyman cuts a promo and says that if Kurt Angle can issue an open challenge to any rookie, then Lesnar is issuing a challenge to any veteran.
Ric Flair answers the challenge and in the ring, grabs a mic and cuts a promo and says that he's not just a veteran but a legend.
The match happens and Lesnar wins but only just.
During the match however, Heyman slips and botches climbing on to the ring apron.
https://i.postimg.cc/Qx7bYmZB/xz1.gif
• Backstage we see The Coach interviewing Jackie Gayda and Jackie claims that she didn't lose the tag team match last week as it was Molly Holly that got pinned, not her.
Molly then appears and tells Jackie "you would be a better competitor if you didn't parade around in your undergarments".
Jackie replies with "at least I look good in my undergarments" and this is enough to get Molly to slap Jackie and attack her backstage, bringing her out to the side of the stage and trying to attack her with a pole.
Jackie gets the better of Molly for a second by sending her into the side of the ramp (the good ol' days when the stage and ramp were huge).
The fight makes its way to the ring where Molly stands triumphant but Trish attacks her from behind, throws her into the ring and then pulls down her trousers/pants to reveal that Molly is wearing "granny panties".
https://i.postimg.cc/Gh3DGjhw/xz2.gif
That got a huge pop from the crowd.
Trish then walks away up the ramp making fun of Molly's "huge ass".
• Chris Nowinski vs Bradshaw now and the story behind this is that Nowinski asked for this match but he didn't want it to be for Bradshaw's Hardcore Championship as he didn't want to be Hardcore Champion, because that would mean he would be looking over his shoulder 24/7.
During Nowinski's entrance, Lawler showed off Nowinski's class ring.
The bell rings and Bradshaw brings out weapons from under the ring, even though it isn't a Hardcore Match. The referee then takes a chair away from Bradshaw but as his back is turned, Nowinski hits Bradshaw with a cowbell and pins Bradshaw for the three-count.
The match was probably no more than two minutes long.
As Nowinski is leaving, we see William Regal watching the match backstage when Rob Van Dam enters the locker room looking for Lesnar. Regal tells him that Lesnar has already had a match and that he should apologise for barging into the locker room.
Rob Van Dam doesn't and instead, challenges Regal to a match tonight.
• Backstage we see Booker T & Goldust and Goldust is dressed as Darth Vader and Booker T gets carried away with a plastic lightsaber.
I really must have been into Booker T & Goldust back then as so far, everything I've seen from them, I remember so vividly.
• Rob Van Dam vs William Regal now and during Regal's entrance, Lilian Garcia messes up and introduces Regal from Liverpool, not Blackpool.
What an insult.
Anyways, it was actually quite a good match and RVD wins and then grabs a mic and calls Lesnar out who then appears with Heyman.
Heyman then declines the match tonight but instead, challenges RVD to a match at Vengeance which RVD accepts.
• We're all then informed that Chris Benoit will have his first match in over a year tonight.
https://i.postimg.cc/1XBJM5q9/xz3.png
• Bubba & Spike Dudley vs Eddie Guerrero & Chris Benoit
This match was hyped up backstage with Eddie, Benoit and Vince and it was a nice long match with no team really dominating the other, however, I was surprised when Bubba and Spike won clean.
I expected Eddie & Benoit to win as it was Benoit's first match back in over a year.
After the match, Benoit attacked Bubba and he also put Spike through a table. As Benoit is applying a Crippler Crossface to Bubba, Eddie hit a Frog Splash on Bubba's back which seemed to have killed Bubba, who just went completely limp.
• Backstage, Goldust tries to attack Big Show but as Goldust tries to run away, he's stopped by Kevin Nash, who basically destroys him. Kevin Nash then tells Big Show that he has to win the match or he's out.
Later, backstage, Big Show finds X-Pac unconscious on top of a broken coffee table.
https://i.postimg.cc/nL1jXjbc/xz4.png
So the match is now a singles match between Booker T and Big Show.
The match is a short one as Big Show and Booker T are fighting outside the ring and Big Show picks up the steps but Booker trips him up and Big Show gets knocked out by the steps hitting his face, so as a result, he isn't able to answer the referee's ten-count and is counted out.
We return from a break and Big Show has now regained consciousness and is in the ring with Kevin Nash and Shawn Micheals.
Nash punches Big Show who in return, punches Nash. Micheals then stands between them and tells them to stop. He then cuts a really slow and long winded promo that felt like it was going absolutely nowhere but the point of the promo was to announce that Triple H will be joining the nWo.
After that, Micheals asks Nash and Big Show to make up and as they're shaking hands, Michaels must have turned on some kind of "Big Show head magnet" in his shoe, as Big Show's head quickly (and suddenly) made its way towards Micheals' foot and Sweet Chin Music was delivered.
https://i.postimg.cc/SxnbXHBX/xz5.gif
Both Nash and Micheals then tell Big Show to follow them as it was just "tough love".
• Backstage we see Vince and Undertaker and Vince announces that Undertaker will face The Rock at Vengeance.
We then see Jeff Hardy getting ready for his match. Matt then enters the room to wish him luck and surprises us all by bringing Lita with him who's been out with a legit neck injury, so she was wearing a neck brace.
It's main event time and it's Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy in "That Ladder Match" for the Undisputed Championship.
This is one of the matches I remember extremely vividly and I remember enjoying the match immensely when I first watched it but I actually don't remember it being as short as it was. It actually felt much longer when I watched it back in 2002.
I also remember when I first watched it that I legitimately thought Jeff could win and that he was going to win. I also think that I actually wanted Jeff to win at that time, even though I remember liking The Undertaker at that time.
Jeff being Undisputed Champion just seemed crazy to me at that point and I liked that. I'm still like that now in that I like wrestlers winning championships that you never thought they would win.
The last time that happened for me was when Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship. I was so happy when that happened and yes, I "marked out" a little bit.
Seeing and hearing all the iconic moments during the match however just gave me such a great sense of nostalgia.
The moment from (and onwards) when Jeff hit The Undertaker with a chair as he was being lifted up for The Last Ride is what I remember the most vividly and that just happens to be the beginning of the end of the match.
Also, JR willing Jeff on and yelling "Climb the ladder, kid! Make yourself famous!" are words I've always remembered and at the time, I felt like those were special words and in the end, they were, as now they're pretty memorable and are a part of "WWE History".
And also, there's this moment:

July 04, 2002 - Boston, MA
• We start off with Lilian Garcia (from Raw) singing "America The Beautiful" as it is the day to be singing it, I guess but also because USA! USA! USA!
As Lilian is singing, we hear Lance Storm's voice calling for the music to stop. He then appears with Christian and Test and the boos these guys get is crazy.
If the boos they got for interrupting "America The Beautiful" was crazy, then what they would have gotten for interrupting the national anthem would have been insane and I can see why Vince didn't go that route as it was the first Independence Day since September 11th.
But also because generally speaking, America comes across as being mighty protective of their anthem. I can imagine someone interrupting it would either be shot or it would start a riot.
Anyway, they tell Lilian to leave and Christian has the mic. He asks if Americans really knows why they're celebrating today.
He then says "Considering the ignorance of the American youth, you probably think of Independence Day as the day Will Smith saved the world from a bunch of aliens".
Lance then takes the mic and proceeds to give us all a history lesson and explains why America celebrates but in doing so, paints America in a bad light whilst remaining factually correct. He then lists all the wars that America has been a part of and also asks why America was even in Korea and Vietnam. He then reminds everyone that America lost in Vietnam which receives some boos.
Test finally gets the mic and says that he hates America.
That was Test's part in this ten minute opening.
Rikishi's music hits and it's a scheduled match between himself and Lance Storm, so after the break, the match starts and it's a short one as Christian and Test interfere and help Storm win.
• Backstage we see Stacy Keibler knocking on the locker room door and Mark Henry (in full gear) answers and she asks for John Cena.
That's the first and last time we see Mark Henry tonight.
Cena arrives at the door (also in full gear) and Stacy tells him that Vince wants to see him. As he goes to see Vince, Stacy checks out his ass.
During Cena's adventure to Vince's office, a match takes place, so I can only imagine that the locker room and Vince's office were at opposite ends of the arena, as Reverend D-Von & Batista were able to defeat The Big Valbowski & Randy Orton in the time it took Cena to arrive as Vince's office, as after the match we see Chris Jericho with Vince and a match is made between Jericho and Edge at Vengeance.
John Cena then enters the room and Jericho has an instant dislike of him and asks him who he thinks he is and so on.
It all ends with Cena slapping Jericho in the face and sending Jericho to the floor and it must have be some slap as the sound Cena's hand made when it came into contact with Jericho's face was like a balloon exploding.
Also, Jericho swore but it was bleeped out.
Cena then leaves.
A break happens and when we come back we see what happened during the break and it's Jericho asking for a match with Cena tonight.
• We then get "The People's Moment".
https://i.postimg.cc/T2m8gZYF/xz7.gif
It's just a short clip of something The Rock did that was funny in January of that year. It was when he took the cameraman's camera and pointed it at him.
• Tag Team Championship Match now and it's Hulk Hogan & Edge vs Billy & Chuck
I was getting ready to skip Hogan's entrance but he came out to "Real American" so I was left feeling glad that I didn't have to endure Hogan's awful "Voodoo Child" dub.
It was actually a decent Tag Team Match but in the end, Edge pinned Chuck even though Billy was the legal man and Hulk Hogan & Edge are the new Tag Team Champions.
• After the match, we get informed that Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler will be facing each other in a Bra & Panties Match.
Those were the days.
• Chris Jericho vs John Cena and Cena comes out with his delightfully jobber sounding theme.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/430-W30A8dk" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Jericho wins by having his feet on the ropes and giving Cena his first loss, which was in his hometown.
• We have another "The People's Moment".
https://i.postimg.cc/T2m8gZYF/xz7.gif
It's when The Rock shoved Vince's head up Rikishi's ass.
• We're taken back to last Saturday when The World hosted "Divas Undressed".
Torrie Wilson was announced as the winner of the first ever "Golden Thong Award" and she celebrated by sticking her lollipop on Dawn Marie's boob (as you do).
https://i.postimg.cc/fL8v9WSm/xz8.gif
And yes:
I'm sure there are some of us who would like to stick their lollipop on Dawn Marie's boob. :naughty:
Anyway, Torrie and Stacy argue and then fight and that's what lead to this Bra & Pantie's match.
Also, I love that Rico entered himself into the competition and also what he's wearing. It's all so ridiculous.
• We then see Jamie Noble and Nidia in a trailer park and Noble has bought Nidia and trailer home.
They both take a look around inside and are amazed that they have running water.
• Bra & Panties time and the match starts and the crowd starting a "we want puppies" chant.
Torrie wins but still strips to her bra and panties to show off her patriotic underwear.
https://i.postimg.cc/MGWPMFrk/xz9.gif
• We get yet another "The People's Moment".
https://i.postimg.cc/T2m8gZYF/xz7.gif
It was from King of the Ring two weeks ago when The Rock interfered in the Undisputed Championship match.
• Main Event time and it's Kurt Angle vs The Undertaker for the Undisputed Championship.
I think that The Undertaker is officially a face now as he had cheers added in to his entrance.
Also, I think the ending of the match was messed up, as Angle was pinned but Undertaker tapped and as a result of something going wrong with that ending, it was shot again after everyone had went home, as the crowd changed in the space of around ten seconds.
https://i.postimg.cc/cHfPfnM2/xz10.gif
And if I get rid of all the changes of camera angles and just switch between the "same camera":
https://i.postimg.cc/NGzRRzLh/xz11.gif
Or just screenshots side by side:
https://i.postimg.cc/GmkYw3Kr/xz12.png
The differences are that they're obviously different people, they're pretty much all men and the crowd changes from being seated and enjoying the show, to standing and going mad and cheering.
You can also see that the lights have been turned off on the seats at the back, which was probably done to hide the fact that they're all empty.

I was thinking about Jake Roberts the other day. If those abstract and unsubstantiated rumors about a new Chris Jericho North American promotion are true, I had this pipe-dream that they would get Bret Hart to be the top agent. Underneath where Christian, DDP and Jake Roberts, provided you could trust Jake. I also thought of Edge, but I figured he would be "too busy."
Then I saw a shoot from Bret Hart yesterday where he talked about agenting, and how he finds it weird that Vince has all these guys that never really worked on top telling top guys how to work their matches, and he said that he was willing to produce for them for TVs only. It was like this weird pipe-dream that kind of just accidentally simpatico with Bret Hart's thoughts on wrestling.

I think the NWO theme was just some random song that sounded like generic porn music which is how it was referred to it as such in a tounge-in-cheek way. The Cactus Jack theme was *actually* used in one that apparently predated his WWE transition.

nWo: Frank Shelley's 'Rockhouse'
The nWo (New World Order) wrestling theme was always one of the best. The track is Frank Shelley's 'Rockhouse', made by sampling Jimi Hendrix riffs from 'Hey Joe', 'Highway Chile' and 'The Stars That Play With Laughing Sam's Dice'.

Mr. Nerfect
11-22-2018, 06:23 AM
Don't think Christian is weird looking at all. When he had to get off the gas and age made it harder to work out or whatever, he didn't look "credible" in the main event role. He looked like a pretty healthy cagey guy and could obviously move, but he didn't come off as a heavyweight player. I was thinking about this the other day (and I love Christian), but I wish he had gotten more chance, or taken it upon himself, to really play his image into his matches towards the end of his WWE run. I'd have liked to see him work as more of a "desperate" veteran looking for one shot at glory.
Still pisses me off he never got a real chance as a babyface. Whenever he was a face they would basically cut the mic on him. Maybe not so much in ECW, but I don't remember Christian having any real babyface promos on SmackDown or Raw.

I seriously think the way Carmella beat Asuka and then having her beat Charlotte clean in the middle of the ring may be the dumbest booking decisions I've ever seen. Even more so in hindsight now that she's a comedy character. Does she even wrestle still?
#1-norm-fan
11-22-2018, 12:00 PM
They went out of their way to make her look strong as fuck (possibly better, even) against the two women on the brand who were treated like the top of the food chain at WrestleMania. If they did it because they actually thought she would end up being a huge deal based on her in-ring skill ala Charlotte and Asuka, that's pretty fucking dumb. If they knew she'd end up as a comedy non-wrestling character in a few months, then it's REALLY fucking dumb.

I've always liked Christian and I absolutely loved the guy during his 2003-2005 run on Raw when he cut his hair and started calling his fans "his Peeps" and so on.
It's probably the best he's ever been in my opinion.
I've always kinda felt that his move to SmackDown in 2005 did more bad than good for him, as he seemed to just disappear on SmackDown and he didn't really do anything noteworthy during his time there.
He didn't even with a single championship.
As for his look, I've never viewed him as being "rat-faced" and I think his best look was when he cut his hair in 2003 up until he left WWE in 2005. I've mentioned this here before but being at TNA seemed to have done something to him, as when Christian returned to WWE from TNA, he looked different. He looked thinner (especially his calfs) and there must have been something in the water at TNA because his skin looked really yellow. He looked like he had jaundice.
He just generally didn't look healthy at all.
His promos weren't the same too. In fact, they were pretty much the exact opposite of what they were like before he left WWE. His promos after he returned in 2009 came across as a bit mediocre and he always delivered his promos in a somewhat "monotone shouting voice" and he just didn't appear to have the same "swagger" or confidence with the mic that he did before he left.
Even though he was somewhat successful in TNA, I've always felt a little bit that TNA really "hurt him" and "brought him down" and kinda "devalued him" in a way, as he was better than TNA but he went there and it appeared (to me at the time of his WWE return) that TNA really rubbed off on him during his three years there and he just wasn't the same Christian he was before he went to TNA.
He never really seemed to "fully recover" from that (in my opinion) during his second time in WWE up until his retirement.
I still like the guy though and I do still feel that he was a big wasted talent during his time in WWE.

Exactly my point. The reason he acts tough is because he IS tough. As you have to be in order to be a professional fighter. In fact, I can't think of a pro fighter (other than Khabib, right now) who doesn't have a hard loss on their record. Some guys act humble and other act tough. Sometimes it's hubris, sometimes it's marketing, other times it's to get into your opponent's head, or it's all three. If you're going to let getting beat up in a fight change who you are, you're in the wrong business.

That wasn't Georges' style and it made him very likeable. But Conor is more of a heel/Muhammed Ali-type who talks them into the arena. If he suddenly stopped "acting tough" he would cease being Conor McGregor.

It wasn't really eye catching and just made his tights look really plain and that he was just wearing plain black tights, which is never a good look for anyone, especially Christian as it just made his legs (especially his calves) appear thinner than what they were.
Also, to me, it'll always be The Unprettier. I get why the name was changed to The Killswitch, as it does sound more "cartoony" as it was just around the time the "PG Era" was taking off, also the move itself does look like a switch being pulled down and that it's "the end" for his opponents.
However, The Unprettier, although not really "grammatically correct", made just as much sense, as the move smashes the opponents face into the ground, making him "not pretty" anymore thus, The Unprettier.

They are fucking delicious.

I made one of those one time, with two patties, a bunch of cheese on the burger, and a ton of bacon. It was damned good.
Couldn't bring myself to eat bacon again for 6 months after that, but it was damned good.

When he came back it really felt like they were trying to "mature" him. He got the new version of his theme song, his ring attire changed a little (I always liked the blocked colorful version as opposed to the cursive) and The Unprettier became The Killswitch. He felt a lot more "generic" (as far as Christian can be generic). I know people need to evolve and stuff, but a lot of those wry qualities Christian had kind of disappeared in his second run.
Still Randy Orton's best opponent of all-time though.
Christian's return was just the weirdest thing. It was a rare time ECW was airing live since they were on the west coast, and Christian just......shows up to a slow building ovation and a very bored sounding Todd Grisham.

July 08, 2002 Philadelphia, PA
• We start with Vince staring into our souls.
https://i.postimg.cc/9QZhK2cr/z1.png
He was like that for only a few seconds before someone decided to tell him that Raw was now on the air and he began talking and added Kurt Angle to the <s>mix</s> Undisputed Championship match at Vengeance.
He also used the phrase "in the interest of fairness" which I remember used to get said a lot back in the day but now, it's practically never said.
I actually can't remember the last time it was said but hearing it then just made me smile as I hadn't heard it in years and it was just "unexpected nostalgia".
• For some reason, they didn't show which state Raw was in like they usually do, so apparently Philadelphia is stateless.
https://i.postimg.cc/y8kP86D8/z2.png
• Booker T's music hits and I'm instantly reminded of Gertner's post about his theme.
Thanks Gertner.
My Sunday's are never going to be the same again.
And I was right.
Anyway, Booker T calls out the nWo but Eddie Guerrero comes out instead and calls Booker T a "sucker" and other Spanish derogatory terms. A fight then breaks out and we now have a match between the two.
It was a short match and this is how it ended:
https://i.postimg.cc/9XPVLCF0/z3.gif
I think Eddie was suppose to kick out, as the match was over pretty suddenly and everything seemed to go quiet after the three-count and the bell didn't even ring or Booker's music play until five seconds after the three-count.
Also, speaking of the bell, Charles Robinson didn't call for the bell to ring to signal the end of the match after the three-count, instead, you see him kind of "face-palming" after it.
Eddie and Booker both appeared to be slightly surprised by it all too.
After that, Booker T signals for a Spinaroonie but you can tell that he's stalling but his stalling then makes sense when Chris Benoit appears and attacks him from behind, so the stalling was probably because Benoit wasn't ready and wasn't in the Gorilla Position when the match suddenly ended.
Anyway, both Eddie and Benoit attacked Booker T and then Goldust ran down to make the save and got a really loud pop as he did it.
Goldust was really over in 2002.
• For the first time on Raw, we have "The People's Moment".
https://i.postimg.cc/T2m8gZYF/xz7.gif
It was from when The Rock was being interviewed by Lillian Garcia on SmackDown! and The Rock tells Lilian to admit that she gets "wet....with perspiration" when she stands as close as she was to The Rock.
He then asks Lilian if she would like to try some of his strudel and Lilian says yes.
I actually think that may have been somewhat of a rib on Lillian as after it, we saw her reaction to it as Benoit was making his way to the ring.
https://i.postimg.cc/mrFKtfd7/z4.gif
It's Benoit (with Eddie) vs Bubba (with Spike) and Eddie appears to be "off" tonight as he seemed to have forgotten to kick out of the pin during his match with Booker T but also, during this match he kept missing his cues.
He attacked Spike and you could tell that it was supposed to cause a diversion and stop Bubba during the match but Eddie attacked Spike when Bubba's back was turned to him so Bubba couldn't see it, and he was kinda left waiting at one point for Eddie to attack Spike.
Eddie tried again later and the same thing happened again. He attacked Spike when Bubba's back was turned but Bubba still acted like he had seen it.
• Later we see Ric Flair congratulate Jeff Hardy on his ladder match last week and after Jeff leaves, Steven Richards appears and basically calls Flair old and claims that Flair is taking the spotlight away from him.
Both men agree on a match tonight and Richards then cheap shots Flair before he leaves.
• Oh Dear Lord. It's "That Jackie Gayda Match" now.
Trish Stratus & Bradshaw vs Jackie Gayda & Chris Nowinski.
JR must be able to see into the future as during Nowinski and Jackie's entrance, JR said "They're very young, they're gonna make a lot of mistakes, they're "green" as they say".
I'm sure we all know those two infamous botches but here they are anyways:
Botch 1:
https://i.postimg.cc/L8qmBWC8/z5.gif
Botch 2:
https://i.postimg.cc/wxsP2pHP/z6.gif
The match ends with that second botch as Trish scores the three-count.
JR said it best once the bell rang. "Mercifully, it's over".
Lalwer then said "I've seen better catfights".
I still don't know what move "Botch 1" was supposed to have been.
• We get another "The People's Moment".
https://i.postimg.cc/T2m8gZYF/xz7.gif
It was just a montage of various promos over the five year period from 1998-2002.
• It's a night of missed cues as when the nWo came out, X-Pac missed his cue and Shawn Michaels was left wondering where he was.
https://i.postimg.cc/R04450CN/z7.gif
He appears and they all laugh about it.
X-Pac must have been tying his laces or something when the rest of the nWo went out.
Shawn Michaels takes the mic and cuts a promo and much like his promo last week, it was really slow and long winded and felt like it was going absolutely nowhere and at one point when Micheals stops talking for a second, you very clearly heard someone frustratingly yell "Get to the point!".
Basically, Micheals was talking about how great "The Kliq" was and how they were influential and how they used to get drunk together and so on.
Nash then takes the mic and announces that after four months on the injured list, he's now off it and that he wants a match.
• Ric Flair vs Steven Richards now and it was what you would expect from match featuring Steven Richards but even though Richards lost, I liked that he had a match.
I always liked it when Steven Richards had matches.
I've always been a fan of him.
• Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman cut a promo in the ring and it's really just Heyman saying how he exploited everyone at ECW.
Tommy Dreamer then comes out, cuts a short promo and starts attacking Lesnar with a kendo stick.
Heyman tries to attack Dreamer from behind but instead, Dreamer grabs him and is about to powerbomb him through two chairs when Lesnar decides to keep up tonight's tradition of missing cues and misses his cue to stop Dreamer, so instead, Dreamer is basically just holding Heyman's head in his groin for about five seconds whilst Heyman writhes around.
https://i.postimg.cc/mDTYH7LB/z8.gif
• Jeff Hardy vs William Regal for the European Championship is next and Hardy wins but more on that later as after it we got another....
• "The People's Moment"
https://i.postimg.cc/T2m8gZYF/xz7.gif
This time is was from The Rock's "This Is Your Life" segment when he yells at his high school girlfriend.
• After that we see The Coach catch up with William Regal and he asks how he feels about losing his title.
Regal begins to cry and then falls to his knees.
He's about to go into the foetal position when Chris Nowinski appears and consoles him.
• Main Event time and it's Eddie Guerrero/Chris Benoit/Kevin Nash/The Big Show/X-Pac vs Rob Van Dam/Bubba Dudley/Spike Dudley/Booker T/Goldust.
The latter all came out together (which was cool to see) to RVD's theme and they were introduced as weighing in at a combined weight of 1,216 lbs.
During the match, Shawn Micheals interfered and RVD chased him away up the ramp but just as Micheals disappeared into the Gorilla Position, Brock Lesnar shot out and clotheslined RVD. Micheals then came out to gloat as Lesnar F-5'd RVD on the stage. JR mentioned that it must have been a set up.
Seeing that all the heels appear to be working together seems really cool and it's something you don't really get now.
Heels now only seem to focus on one guy and it's always who they're feuding with, unless that is it's Survivor Series and everyone suddenly decides that they're willing to die for their brand. Here we have a duo (Benoit & Guerrero), a stable (nWo) and a singles competitor (Lesnar) all working together and the same could be said for the faces.
These days you wouldn't really see, for example, Sheamus & Cesaro, SAnitY and Nakamura all working together to get one up on the faces.
Anyways, after standing on the apron for fifteen minutes, Nash tags himself in and he's only in the ring for fifteen seconds when his quad decides to explode.
https://i.postimg.cc/7LtsMx65/z9.gif
Earl Hebner then throws up the "X" as everyone else but Bubba scrambles in the ring to cover for Nash as Bubba runs to check up on him.
The rest of the match was then extremely rushed and nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on. It was just a big mess really (but it is understandable, given the circumstances), as everyone was everywhere and nobody knew where to go.
At one point, Shawn Michaels came into the ring, kicked Booker T in the face and then left the ring but even though I'm sure that was suppose to happen, it happened right in front of the referee who just had to pretend he didn't see it.
The match after Nash's injury was just chaos.
Raw closed with Nash being carried away.
This Raw must have been cursed as so much went wrong.
- Guerrero not kicking out of his pin and ending a match prematurely as a result
- Guerrero missing his cues twice during Benoit's match
- "That Jackie Gayda Match"
- X-Pac missing his cue
- Lesnar missing his cue
- Nash being out of action for four months, only to return to the ring for fifteen seconds before his quad disintegrates
- The ending of the main event being chaotic
To this day, I don't think there's ever been a Raw quite like that one.

July 11, 2002 Atlantic City, NJ
• We start off with a Tag Team Championship match and it's Hulk Hogan & Edge vs Billy & Chuck.
Hogan does nothing throughout the match as Edge always gets stopped from tagging but eventually he manages to get to Hogan and tags him in. Hogan enters the ring, does his usual shtick and Hogan gets the pin.
• After the match we see The Undertaker waiting in the parking lot for The Rock when John Cena (in full gear) comes along and says that he's already thanked Vince McMahon for giving him the opportunity to be Undertaker's partner tonight and that he's came to see The Undertaker to tell him what an honour it'll be to be his tag team partner tonight.
I've said this before but all this early John Cena stuff genuinely does just leave me feeling like I'm watching a SvR storyline with a freshly made CAW.
• After that we see an "Earlier Today" segment and Torrie Wilson is on the beach doing a photoshoot until Molly Holly surprisingly shows up and tells Torrie that her "Golden Thong Award" that she won last week isn't a real accolade and she then challenges Torrie to win a "real award" (her title) tonight on SmackDown.
Torrie accepts the challenge and tells Molly to watch her next pose. Torrie then undoes her bra strap and Molly leaves in disgust.
• We're back in the parking lot (and we've only had one match at this point) and Finlay, Brooklyn Brawler and Big Johnny are talking to The Undertaker and are trying to get him inside the arena but The Undertaker wants to wait for The Rock.
A limo then pulls up and The Undertaker opens the door to find Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle (his opponents tonight) inside.
They all exchange words for a bit and while they were doing that, I couldn't help but notice how bad the parking lot's ceiling was. Behind The Undertaker, it looks like it was all damp, cracked and falling apart with tiles missing and all that.
https://i.postimg.cc/Qt5zX28V/z10.png
A fight then breaks out and as Vince & Co. try to break it up, you can see that the ceiling on the other side of the parking lot is in the same condition.
https://i.postimg.cc/vTtSn56s/z11.png
• Women's Championship match now and it's actually a bit weird seeing Molly Holly on SmackDown.
Since I started watching these old episodes of Raw and SmackDown, Molly has only ever appeared on Raw but anyway, as you would have guessed, Molly won.
Looking back on these old episodes, I can't help but feel that Molly was actually a bit on the underrated side back then.
Sure, she had some good success during this time but I feel that she should have been bigger than what she was and she definitely should have been Women's Champion more than twice.
• Reverend D-Von & Batista vs Mark Henry & Randy Orton now and it was your basic Tag Team Match but the reason I'm mentioning this match is because of this moment I thought was pretty cool:
https://i.postimg.cc/fbQXGpr8/z12.gif
Not long after that, Batista pinned Mark Henry after hitting him with a spinebuster.
• Backstage we see Edge and Hogan getting ready to go gambling and Hogan is telling Edge about his match against The Rock at WrestleMania X8 but it's one of Hogan's "tall tales" and The Rock appears and challenges Hogan's story.
Edge then invites The Rock to come with them and The Rock says yes but only after he's done what he has to do in the ring.
The Rock leaves and Hogan continues his "tall tale" about WrestleMania X8 and The Rock returns and mocks Hogan behind his back.
He then ends his mocking by mouthing the words "I slapped the piss outta you".
https://i.postimg.cc/9M7fcQwT/z13.gif
• After that we get the "Extreme Blast Of The Night" and some top notch 2002 graphics.
https://i.postimg.cc/XvyWCDN6/z14.gif
It was just a way to advertise JVC's "Tower of Power" and all the "Extreme Blast Of The Night" was, was Vince McMahon selecting The Rock as his first draft pick.
• The Rock then comes out (quickly followed by Kurt Angle) and during this 15/20 minute segment, The Rock shows that it's 2002 as he kept making Dr. Evil jokes towards Kurt Angle.
Very current.
At the end of the segment, The Rock and Angle fight and The Rock applies a really bad/awkward looking Ankle Lock on Angle and Angle actually taps.
https://i.postimg.cc/MZ39CZbt/z15.gif
The Undertaker then runs out and puts a stop to that and Chokeslams both Angle and The Rock.
• After that, we see Jamie Noble and Nidia sitting down to an all you can eat buffet and Tajiri is joining them.
Noble then gives a big heartfelt speech to Tajiri about how he was really poor when he was a kid and he had nothing but now that he's Cruiserweight Champion, he's got a lot of money and is living a life he could never have dreamed of.
He ended the speech by saying that now that he has all he could ever have dreamed of because of the Cruiserweight Championship, he's never going to want to let the championship go.
It actually made Noble come across as being a bit of a face. It was a nice backstory that kinda makes his heelish ways a bit more understandable, as all he wanted was a better life for himself and that it appears that he's willing to do anything to get it, even if that means cheating and generally not being a good guy.
Anyways, Noble & Tajiri have a match against Hurricane and Kidman which ended with Kidman pinning Noble.
During the celebrations, Tazz and Cole were talking but when the camera changed to focus on Nidia's reaction, we saw Tazz and Cole in the background with Tazz looking down (possibly reading) and Cole sitting back with his arms folded and both of them weren't moving their mouths at all but we heard them talking.
https://i.postimg.cc/WpZQwkPg/z16.png
• The Main Event was Jericho/Angle vs Cena/Undertaker and it ended when Cena pinned Jericho with an Oklahoma Roll, even though Jericho's foot touched the ropes during the referee's count.
• I'll end this with a classic.
It's a sign but this one is grammatically incorrect.

Just read the reason Bray hasn’t returned yet is that there is no storyline for him. Had an idea involving Sanity, fans have short memories anyway so stick him on Smackdown and he can be involved in some sort of leadership battle with Eric Young, you could even have Nikki Cross revealing herself as Sister Abigail and eventually involve the Bludgeon Brothers when they return as well. Would keep them all occupied.

That literally counts for pretty much every opinion in the history of ever, and you make it sound like a personal attack on you. The fuck's that about? Remember, I'm the guy with the unpopular view of Maria Kanellis.
Besides, I just meant WWE had that well known penchant for hiring literal fitness models. This chick was just the Tough Enough winner. She isn't exactly "last call fodder" like Destor seems to allude to, but she clearly isn't the direction they usually went in.
Also, STD, Her, Chris, and Maven were only put on because of Tough Enough. Not saying there was no value in them. They wouldn't have been there if there wasn't. Especially Chris, since he didn't actually win. If not for the unfortunate life circumstance, he would prob'ly be talked up in GOAT territory by now (if he didn't fall into one of those arbitrary "let's humble him" de-pushes), because he *got* it.

He does have some quirks. I am fairly new to his podcast. What's your take on it, Noid?

Watching Andre vs Inoki from 74. Prime Andre is so good.
All wrestling podcasts are too long
I would listen to a wrestling podcast if it was like 5-10 minutes. It shouldn't take someone the length of RAW to explain why they disliked RAW. Just give me the scoops and thoughts as bullet points plz.

Bruce is entertaining in doses. Listing to multiple episodes burns me out on him. I actually enjoy Bischoff but he is so incorrect about a lot of things that burns me out as well. Tony is great but again, feeling burnt out since Starcast. I enjoy E&C, Austin and Jericho with a good guest and I listen to almost all the F4W Empire shows. Big fan of the new Pacific Rim podcast they have on there. The only recap shows I can listen to are from F4W or if Austin does a recap episode with Kellar, Metlzer or JR.

Ahahaahahahaha
Watching Osamu Nishimura vs Minoru Suzuki now. They do the common early match spot where they go into the ropes in the lock up and one guy pats the guys chest after the clean break. But in this case after Osamu pats his chest Suzuki immediately bitch slaps him, and then spits on him.
Suzuki fucking rules.

Absolute shame for Fight Club Pro Wrestling , having to pull all of their big names before a massive event for them in Japan.
Also being a local promotion run by Trent Seven himself I really hope that the WWE sees sense and adds them to the ‘allowed’ list of promotions.

The weekly podcast that I always listen to (Between the Sheets) is between 5-8 hours long.
I also listen to Cornette's podcasts plus Stick to Wrestling and a bi weekly podcast. On a given week I listen to around 10-12 hours of podcasts a week.

I saw a post on Instagram today complaining about Raw and how Raw has got "too many heels" or whatever and it made me go and count the faces and heels on each show and I was actually a bit surprised at the result I got.
I included Male, Female and "On-Air" Talent for both Raw and SmackDown but I didn't count the Crusierweights for Raw, as they have 205 Live.
Anyway, my findings were this:
Raw
Total Talent - 60
Male Heels - 16
Male Faces - 24
Female Heels - 8
Female Faces - 6
"On-Air" Heels - 6
"On-Air" Faces - 0
Total Heels - 30
Total Faces - 30
SmackDown
Total Talent - 46
Male Heels - 17
Male Faces - 15
Female Heels - 6
Female Faces - 5
"On-Air" Heels - 0
"On-Air" Faces - 3
Total Heels - 23
Total Faces - 23
So it appears that both Raw and SmackDown are split evenly when it comes to Heels and Faces and I don't know if that was intentional or just a happy little coincidence.

From the post I saw on Instagram, I think what the guy was getting at was that over on Raw, the heels seems to be more predominant as you've got Ambrose, Corbin, Lashley, Ziggler, McIntyre and also Lesnar all flying around Raw's main event/upper mid-card scene and on the other side, you've got Strowman, Elias, Bálor, Reigns and Rollins but at the moment, with Strowman and Reigns out of action, you've just got Elias, Bálor and Rollins.
For the Women's Division and its main focus, you've got Bliss (and by association, James) and Jax (and by association, Tamina), whereas on the other side, you've got Rousey.

Watched Slamboree 95 which I don't think I had ever seen (strange because I'm a huge WCW fan) last night. The Renegade boggles the mind. I then watched Great American Bash 95 afterwards with an AMAZING Ric Flair/Randy Savage WHC match. Really good.
