I'm guessing whoever did the editing on this wasn't too clued in about wrestling, Macho goes for a backdrop on Flair and it's edited into the top rope Flair fling, Hogans entire moves of doom are all over the place, Vader is again wearing his singlet back to front, and the edited in sounds are really bad.

All summed up by one phrase, "It's the drizzling Shits". Wrestling's heyday has come and gone, the Monday Night Wars were pretty much it's peak (and that's when people generally weren't fully aware of how staged it was), been all downhill from there.

If anything the MNW were the last time it really peaked and had a ton of interest Globally, and that's over 20 years ago now.
Now it's just mundane shit with Promos that sound like they're being delivered at gunpoint, everyone talks the same way, everyone uses the same sad little "Vince'isms" in their Promos.

Whatever plans WWE had for Retribution got put on hold for at least the next 2 weeks since the group got placed quarantined due to being in recent contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus. None of the 5 members tested positive though.
Also seems Nia Jax wasn't that happy with WWE's announcement of her and Shayna being pulled from Clash of Champs since that quickly led to rumors going around that they were among those who tested positive for the coronavirus.

Just heard this amazing angle that never came to be from the one of the owners of the Global Wreatling Federation in the early 90s.
The idea was a Vietnamese wrestler who they said was a former Vietcong would debut with a dog tag around his neck. Week after week a family would come out upset and asking why this guy was wearing their father/husbands dog tag around his neck. Eventually the wrestler would turn to the family and point to his stomach insinuating he ate him.
Lol amazing.

So many things are better now than they were when you were younger. Also, every young fan remembers times when it was shit. This is a recency bias excuse used to explain bad content.
I think actual in ring wrestling has tended to get better as ive gotten older but the older stuff is more memorable even if a lot of it was terrible but younger me liked storylines more, now I am more a fan of the actual wrestling

The poll was mostly about WWE and less about wrestling in general since that was the only company discussed in the article.
For the most part, people equate "pro wrestling" with WWE in the US.
Regarding the TV decline, VIP noted that WWE RAW has lost around 2 million viewers for most of their 2020 episodes versus 2015 levels. Exclusive data from pollsters YouGov shows that the main reasons behind the decline has to do with low-quality writing in the storylines. YouGov polled 471 adults aged 18 or older who used to watch at least one of WWE NXT, RAW, SmackDown or AEW Dynamite. They collected the following data on reasons why United States viewers stopped watching pro wrestling on TV:
* 30% - It seemed more cartoonish than when I liked it
* 29% - Storylines were not as good/interesting
* 28% - Characters were not as good/interesting
* 26% - Matches were not as good/interesting
* 14% - The content was more geared toward children
* 9% - Announcing was not as good
* 7% - The show wasn't listening to the fans
* 24% - Other
* 12% - Not sure

Early TNA might be interesting if you looking for some quick laughs and not actual quality wrestling considering those early era shows were chalk full of absurd Russo style booking and moments.

Apparently Georgia Championship Wrestling is getting revived with their return show happening this weekend.
Georgia Championship Wrestling is returning on October 3rd with a show in Eatonton, Georgia at the Elks Lodge ...
The upcoming event on October 3rd will not have a long gap between it and the next event as Georgia Championship Wrestling is planning to make a full revival. Chris Nelms, who’s a promoter and wrestler will be in action on the October 3rd card and is spearheading the revival along with Grady Odum and Tim Rice. I was able to speak with Chris about the plans for Georgia Championship Wrestling and he reiterated that the goal is for a full revival and eventually, a territory-style group which will see GCW work with four-to-five different promotions in Georgia under the Georgia Championship Wrestling banner.
Nelms added that a “Georgia Championship” would be recognized as the main title that all under the banner would be able to challenge for. Past the October 3rd show, they are currently working on securing more dates in other towns in the state.
As far as broadcasting shows to the masses, they are looking into possibly doing an internet-based show or possibly presenting the program on local television. At the October 3rd show, interviews will be conducted via Facebook and they’re planning to upload footage from Saturday’s show to their YouTube channel in the following weeks as that gets set up.
Chris Nelms confirmed that they will be bringing in legends from Georgia Championship Wrestling’s past for appearances as things progress. As it stands, Grady Odum is the owner of GCW while Chris Nelms and Tim Rice will serve executive roles as well as promoting and booking.

Unlike with their NXT TakeOver XXX event, WWE is currently rumored to be holding this Sunday's TakeOver 31 event at their ThunderDome.
Basis for the rumor revolves around a recent scheduling change WWE made for ThunderDome fan registrations for next week's RAW and recent comments Triple H made during his NXT TakeOer media call.
It looks like WWE NXT may debut in the ThunderDome with Sunday's "Takeover: 31" event.
It was previously reported that WWE officials had discussed potentially holding Takeover at the Amway Center in Orlando, which would be the ThunderDome debut for the brand, instead of the NXT Arena on the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. There's been no update on the location for Sunday, but now we have a new clue that is fueling speculation on Takeover at the ThunderDome.
WWE announced today that ThunderDome registration for Monday's RAW will open up tomorrow, Friday. WWE usually opens ThunderDome registration for RAW shows on Saturdays. It's possible that they pushed the ThunderDome registration for RAW up one day so that they can open ThunderDome registration for Takeover on Saturday, the day before the big event ...
As noted, Triple H hosted a media call on Wednesday to promote Takeover and promised a new feel for the brand this weekend ...
Triple H later reiterated the "game changing" comments and teased a new look and feel for Takeover.
"So this Sunday's Takeover will have a very unique look and feel, something totally different that hasn't been done so far," he said. "You'll find out more on Sunday, but it will be very unique, and I think hopefully, at least for us, game changing."

Seems WWE's new restrictions on outside third party services for their talent is even worse than previously assumed.
Before it was assumed that Twitch accounts would be mostly left alone as long as talent removed any WWE owned ring names or references in the accounts. Turns out WWE is taking over ownership of those accounts regardless if they are under their talents real names and also taking a chunk out of any money earned by their talent on the service.
Even worse is any leftover money talent receives from Twitch will now count against their downside guarantees meaning they are no longer earning any extra money on the side.
Wrestling Inc. has learned that Vince McMahon sent an email to talent this week reminding them that they have until this Friday, October 2nd, to sever any unauthorized business relationships with third parties. It was noted that talent who fail to comply could be fined, suspended or terminated.
As Wrestling Inc. first exclusively reported in September, McMahon issued an edict instructing talent that they can no longer engage with third parties. The company later clarified the edict, stating that talent could maintain Twitch and YouTube accounts under their real names, however they would still need to inform the company of those accounts.
Wrestling Inc. has also learned that talent were told this week that the company will be taking control of their Twitch accounts in four weeks. WWE will own those accounts, however talent will receive a percentage of the revenue, which counts against their downside guarantees.

Not only is she the highest ranked streamer in WWE in terms of both subs and earnings, she probably makes as much money if not more from Twitch than from her WWE contract based on recent estimates.

How could they possibly enforce that? Unless WWE has a backdoor deal with Twitch where they got Twitch not to pay any of the wrestlers directly.
They should strike by not showing up for Smackdown, just have a Twitch stream going where they just sit and watch Smackdown.
Also, id love to be a fly on the wall when they try to tell Ronda Rousey that lol
Emperor Smeat
10-02-2020, 12:07 AM
Legally, its probably muddy since the whole process depends on talent willingly handing over ownership of their accounts and also agreeing to the new terms for their downsides.
If a talent says no, only real way out is WWE agreeing to their release since anything else likely leaves WWE the ability to start punishing and fining them via whatever disciplinary terms are in their contracts if they keep using their account.
WWE's whole plan assumes a talent won't just stop using Twitch or use it a lot less often since then they'd own a mostly useless account once the subs money dries up.

WWE's new ban on third party service just keeps getting worse the more WWE goes ahead with it.
Newest issue is WWE has been making their talents sign newly revised contracts containing terms demanding they continue using Twitch via WWE owned accounts and if they don't, WWE would consider it to be the same as if they failed to perform their regular job and open themselves up to punishments.
Comes from recent talks Andrew Yang had with talent within the company regarding the new ban on third party services.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Hearing from talent that WWE is forcing performers to sign new contracts that include twitch. The independent contractors issue will be the final nail in the coffin of WWE. Surely enough of noise will be made for the American government to hold hearings on the flagrant abuse of contractors, the lack of benefits or a union .

Yes,
But at that time wrestling was “still in the closet”. Now it’s widely acknowledged and accepted that they are actors. Also, wrestling doesn’t pay to athletic commissions anymore.
Wwe wrestlers cannot take bookings elsewhere, or even have other revenue streams - they are employees without benefits.
If a class action lawsuit or senate hearing had to occur , and it found wwe in the wrong, I wonder if they would be responsible medical etc for all the previous wrestlers...

Even though WWE is still dealing with the aftermath of their recent coronavirus outbreak at the Performance Center, supposedly they will have a limited live crowd for tomorrow's NXT TakeOver 31 event.
Between that and the recent news of NXT going live every week, WWE's been making some really dumb decisions of late regarding their handling of the coronavirus and future plans for shows.
The WWE NXT Takeover 31 event this Sunday, which is scheduled to take place at the WWE Performance Center, will have a “crowd of sorts” present, according to news first reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select.
The report notes that requests were made to bring friends and family of the talent to the event, with the idea being to create somewhat of a crowd environment for Takeover.
Triple H revealed earlier this week in a pre-NXT Takeover conference call that the show would have a unique look and feel that has never been done before, but at the time did not elaborate on what that may entail.

Also seems the reason why WWE is moving NXT from Full Sail to their Performance Center is a mix of NXT hasn't been using Full Sail students to help with production since going closed set for tapings and Full Sail recently partially re-opened and didn't want to risk the chance that someone from WWE could infect their students and staff.
Plus moving away from Full Sail means WWE no longer has to follow Full Sail's rules for NXT tapings.
A new report has some details on why WWE is apparently moving NXT from Full Sail University and will tape at the WWE Performance Center for the time being. As noted last night, WWE is reportedly set to return to the PC for NXT and 205 Live starting with NXT Takeover: 31 on Sunday. According to Wrestling Inc, the move is an amicably split from Full Sail and the “door is open” for them to return.
The site reports that the main reason for the move is that NXT isn’t using Full Sail students at their tapings, which they’ve previously done for things like camera personnel and production assistants. Full Sail students who were taking classes had the opportunity to shadow NXT crew and learn aspects of what they do. NXT is currently a closed set featuring only WWE personnel and Full Sail is not allowing fans to attend live events on campus for the foreseeable future.
In addition, the school has partially reopened for in-person learning and with NXT using some of the conference rooms, they sometimes could come into contact with students in passing. The idea of keeping the roster and crew as the only people using facilities and avoiding contact to minimize risk was a factor in the decision. This also allows NXT to make the decision when they want to allow fans on their own and means they won’t have to coincide with Full Sail’s decisions.

Apparently WWE renamed their ring area used for tapings inside the Performance Center to the new name of Capitol Wrestling Center.
Will look similar to WWE's ThunderDome but with a mix of virtual and live fans for the crowd.
In terms of historical significance of the name, Capitol Wrestling was the precursor to WWE.
Beginning this Sunday at TakeOver 31, NXT returns to the Performance Center in Orlando, Fla., for its weekly shows, and there will an entirely different look to the venue.
The newly remodeled television set inside the Performance Center is now known as the Capitol Wrestling Center, and it will be unveiled at TakeOver.
In addition to video walls surrounding the ring with virtual fans, similar to the ThunderDome, the venue also will welcome back live fans in a limited capacity. Levesque said the crowd is likely to be around 100 people at Sunday’s TakeOver.

I could see Paige wanting out of WWE since that new edict is going to hurt her the most out of everyone.

The amount of ineptitude regarding WWE's management and decision making process is mind boggling.
Compared to WCW and TNA, WWE's ineptness is on another level but unlike those two, they haven't suffered any real crippling punishment because of it. Like WCW crashed as fast as they quickly rose in the mid to late 90s due to their ineptness coming back to bite them hard while TNA's ineptness has led to them being just a shell of their former self and hanging on by the skin of their teeth over the years.
Any struggles WWE has felt just gets offset by the massive money pouring into the company leading to them not really bothering to fix their core problems. Even the threat of a potential new serious rival hasn't really led to them making changes for the better for their overall product.

Ideally, NXT would also be drafting some of RAW & SD's big name stars to even out whatever big names they'd lose.
Right now, they likely are just going to lose a bunch of people anyways and get nothing in return like what happened with 205 Live with the last Draft and Superstar Shakeups.
At least with them involved in the actual drafting process, that would be WWE signaling once again that NXT is meant to be an actual brand and be in near equal status to their other brands until they decide afterwards to flip flop again on NXT's status.

Holy shit, of all the things to take a gripe with, the idea of a few roster moves not being sure of is nowhere near the level of incompetence of a WCW, TNA or AEW. It's possible that Trips is just keeping it under wraps or they haven't decided yet.
I'd be interested in the idea of AJ Styles going to NXT, but it's possible that NXT doesn't really get anybody because they've already achieved their goal against AEW anyway. Or AEW did it for them. 850k is not a threat.
Mr. Nerfect
10-06-2020, 06:24 AM
The WWE are a content creation company at this point. They probably make more money off Main Event being put together and sold to India, Brazil and Australia than anyone except for maybe AEW makes for Dynamite. They're not as obsessed about whether wrestler (x) is going to be on (a) show as fans of the product are. It literally doesn't mean shit to them at this point, because the shows are just there to fill time in exchange for giant sacks of money. They are bad at communicating that to people, or don't want to, so you get non-answers about the things that don't really matter to them.
You can be annoyed that the WWE has become so big and unrivaled that they are just a money-printing operation now. The artisty is not there. But holy shit, you are incompetent if you think that they are incompetent.
Droford
10-06-2020, 07:33 AM
The networks have too much say in who goes to what show and I'm sure if they want certain guys on SD they're going to SD. WWE has to deal with the fall out creatively instead of them getting to pick who goes where to fit their plans.
And ultimately I think USA cares more about its Flagship show in RAW than NXT. Ever since Retribution got outted to who they are they've stayed on RAW instead of showing up on SD.
I'm fairly sure the only NXT to SD move has been Riddle ..oh and the Forgotten Sons lol..
Whereas RAW got Baszler, Bianca Bel Air, Keith Lee Angel Garza and Retribution recently as well as Austin Theory for a short time
NXT has got demotions back from Breezango, Balor, Ember Moon and Austin Theory back

According to Fightful, WWE has been holding talks for the past year regarding the idea of NXT getting a second weekly TV show.
These talks went as far as reaching the planning stage prior to WWE's recent outbreak and its currently not known if WWE is still going ahead with these plans.
The show itself had a tentative name of "NXT Underground" and would feature unused talent and their recent EVOLVE signings.
There could be more NXT content on the way soon. Fightful has learned that a once-pitched NXT product was at least in the planning stages in September, before the most recent outbreak.
Once pitched as "NXT Underground" well before "Raw Underground" happened, but it wasn't to be anything like the Raw Underground we see today, outside of having peers watch the show. The idea was floated around last year, but not everyone was on board with the idea, which was tabled. There was a pilot for the event shot at the WWE Performance Center in Summer 2019, which would have been the setting of the event. We're told it has long been a Ryan Katz project.
The latest we've heard is that some unused NXT talent and new EVOLVE signings were tentatively planned for the show. Again, we are unsure of how the recent COVID outbreak have affected this.

AEW's home network TNT is about to get hit with a huge wave of layoffs as part of WarnerMedia's current restructuring plans that are massive in scale.
Main reason is WarnerMedia has been getting hammered in revenues in several key areas during the coronavirus pandemic and their HBO Max streaming service being a big bust in terms of expectations and revenues since its launch.
The company is implementing the cuts due to the decline in revenue from cable subscriptions, television ad revenue and movie ticket sales. The company noted that "an acceleration in shifting consumer behavior, especially in the way content is being viewed" is responsible for much of the decline.
"Like the rest of the entertainment industry, we have not been immune to the significant impact of the pandemic," a WarnerMedia spokesperson said in a statement. "That includes an acceleration in shifting consumer behavior, especially in the way content is being viewed. We shared with our employees recently that the organization will be restructured to respond to those changes and prioritize growth opportunities, with an emphasis on direct-to-consumer. We are in the midst of that process and it will involve increased investments in priority areas and, unfortunately, reductions in others."
This is the second round of layoffs for WarnerMedia as they cut 500 jobs in August at Warner Bros. Both NBCU and WarnerMedia have implemented layoffs recently as they pivot towards streaming. While WarnerMedia's HBO Max service has only garnered 4.1 million subscriptions since it launched in May, overall HBO subscriptions, which includes viewers watching it on premium channel bundles, rose to 36 million. It was noted that the increase in subscriptions "hasn't offset deeper declines at the commercial entertainment cable networks TNT, TBS and TruTV."
The huge hit in ad revenues probably going to get worse for WarnerMedia and the TV industry in general since that was a huge fear experts had with the coronavirus pandemic if it didn't ease up prior to the Fall sweeps.
AEW got extremely lucky with the timing of their modified TV deal with TNT since they would be hurting just as badly if the only real money coming in was from their share of ad revenues.

WWE got named in a $40 million civil lawsuit filed against Matt Riddle and others in regards to the sexual abuse allegations surrounding him.
Among the allegations in this lawsuit includes Riddle bragged about sexually abusing Candy Cartwright to EVOLVE's owner and he did nothing about it and Riddle playing a major role in getting her bookings with WWE and EVOLVE earlier this year to be dropped because she wouldn't continue performing sexual acts on him.
The lawsuit does have some issues though in regards to getting a date wrong about Riddle's signing with WWE and how it portrays the partnership between WWE and EVOLVE since the inclusion of WWE as a defendant is the shakiest out of the group listed.

Yeah, no shit. This is why they put NXT on unopposed for a few weeks without AEW around. Not because they “wanted the jump,” which doesn’t make any fucking sense.

Hopefully they just cut AEW. They wouldn’t be getting anywhere near the ad revenue of a show that has that many viewers, especially with the 50/50 split. It’s probably performing at no better than 40% of what a show with that number of people watching should. Smart money would be to scrap that and start their own promotion or give the spot to someone else for less money and possibly more viewers.

Sounds like the Kyros concussion lawsuit.
Emperor Smeat
10-09-2020, 04:09 AM
The Cartwright lawsuit is barely anything like the Kyros lawsuit since what doomed that concussion lawsuit was it being way too ambiguous with the claims being made against WWE and Kyros having a history of filing frivolous lawsuits and acting very unprofessional on the job.
The reason WWE is the shakiest is due to them being a lot tougher challenger to prove against since the basis of her claims of them being complacent in Riddle's sexual abuse revolves around the weakest and easiest part of her lawsuit to take apart on WWE's end. Even if an amended lawsuit fixes and/or strengthens the EVOLVE connection, still going to be tough to beat WWE's legal machine. The dates in question are the easiest to resolve in an amended lawsuit since they are only off by a bit.
Had Riddle not filed a civil lawsuit against her, I doubt she would have even filed this one against Riddle and others. Riddle's prior legal case involving the restraining order against her got torn to pieces by her lawyer and the general feeling was had Riddle gone to court over it, he was going to lose badly.

Why would WarnerMedia or TNT even consider dumping AEW since both have been praising the company a lot for the numbers and consistent high rankings they've been giving to the network compared to what TNT used to get on Wednesdays during that time slot.
Also WarnerMedia already mentioned they have long term expansion plans in place for AEW with their other properties.
Just because you hate AEW doesn't mean what you suggested is a bright idea. If anything, probably would just hurt TNT way more since your asking for them to spend a lot of money to start up their own promotion when ITV already proved that's not a wise idea for a network to do or assume they can even find another company that would produce similar results as AEW when that's less likely to happen.

The answer was in my last post. Because they're probably doing utter shit when it comes to ad revenue. Companies don't usually come out and say that shit, but there's no actual evidence that they are genuinely happy (other than people interpreting PR talk and spin the way they like) or that AEW is actually doing that well.
Being "top five" means shit if you're not making the network mint.
Let's say they licensed some ROH content off Sinclair for $20 million a year. They'd save $25 million on rights and could also keep twice as much ad revenue. Get Sinclair to front the costs for Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and Ronda Rousey (in a few months). How does that hurt them? Because they don't have Silly Billy Chris Jericho on their show anymore? Pfft. He'd jump ship if given the chance anyway.
WarnerMedia can announce expansion plans all they want. They announced expansion plans and then they announced they are culling their fucking ranks.

So your bright idea is for TNT to replace AEW with an even more niche of a company and get a notorious penny pinching owner to spend millions on a few part-timers that won't help the company in the long run. That's assuming Sinclair can even get two of those 3 since I seriously doubt WWE would let a rival easily snag Lesnar and Rousey.
Whatever savings they get from ad revenues splits is going to evaporate afterwards if ROH doesn't maintain what AEW had been doing for TV numbers.

It’s only “more niche” because it doesn’t have the exposure. AEW doesn’t scrape 850k viewers because it is good content. It’s because the Khans’ capital bought their way to #2. You’re entire premise of the criticism is flawed, but nice try.
Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and Ronda Rousey wouldn’t help a company long-term? You’ve been smoking the Meltzer plant for too long. Of course they would fucking help. You put Brock Lesnar vs. anybody, CM Punk vs. anybody and Ronda Rousey vs. anybody on a PPV and you’ve made three stars bigger than anyone in AEW overnight. And you know that. You’re just a mark for the smark snark.
Any wrestling product would draw as well (or as badly) as AEW. It would probably be smarter to replace it with something that isn’t wrestling, because you’d get more ad revenue out of it in the first place.
Maybe The Rock could bankroll this company with Lesnar, Punk, and Rousey. Maybe they could get Jacob Fatu in (is he still in your/Cornette’s good graces?) and they could take over the world?
Emperor Smeat
10-09-2020, 04:57 PM
Even for The Rock, Lesnar might be way too pricey of a talent to get for a new promotion. Based on some numbers that floated around, Lesnar got somewhere around $12 million just from his last year with WWE. Based on reports of how he does business dealings, not going to get him for any cheaper than what he's been getting paid by WWE.
For some comparison, Noid once suggested for NJPW to hire Lesnar to a contract despite Lesnar making around a third of what NJPW makes in an entire year for net revenues.

Maybe The Rock could bankroll this company with Lesnar, Punk, and Rousey. Maybe they could get Jacob Fatu in (is he still in your/Cornette’s good graces?) and they could take over the world?
Lol, yeah. Silly me, predicting that The Rock might get into the live entertainment. It's not like he then went on to buy a currently defunct football league or anything.
Brock Lesnar has a WWE asking price. I'd have a very high asking price too if I had to go out and perform in such a boring environment. New Japan absolutely could have made an offer to Brock. The increase you could potentially see in business could provide future dividends. Sinclair are a multi-billion dollar entity. If they wanted to, they could offer Brock every bit of $12 million to appear for a few PPVs and use that to segue into a cable TV deal that blows AEW out of the water. Those rights fees can add revenue streams while they don't actually have to lose what ROH already brings them (in fact, it'd likely become more popular).
MLW don't have much capital themselves, but they are connected to entities that desperately want (in some cases, need to expand). Signing wrestling stars to perform on their wrestling properties so they can increase their revenue from their wrestling makes sense. If DAZN and BeIN Sports split the costs of a few Lesnar dates between them, having Brock on their content could potentially allow a network deal of even just $25 million to be made, which covers Brock and allows MLW to make the big plays to future talent to also draw people in. This goes to DAZN's specials and the BeIN ratings too.
There is definitely room in the world for a new default #2 promotion. AEW is only there because the Khans had the money and the connections to sign Jericho and JR and get the TNT deal before any content was actually produced. Tell me I'm lying, lol. Since then, they've signed NO real stars (Luke Harper, Matt Hardy and The Revival don't really count as being on that level). It's been a bust in terms of the potential. If anything else comes along, it's got a real good shot at supplanting AEW, as long as it actually has the platform to compete. If TNT wants wrestling, they'd probably prefer that wrestling over #3. I just cut out the middle-man there.
Rock puts $7 million into a wrestling promotion and you don't think there is anyone with money out there that isn't going to cover the rest of the bases to get something off the ground? And you don't think Dwayne fucking Johnson -- the biggest star in Hollywood right now, and the guy who turned ripped people hitting watermelons with hammers or whatever into a 3 million viewer hit on NBC -- isn't going to be able to walk out of an interview with some TV executives with a giant sack of TV rights money? It's literally a license to print thanks to where television is right now.
May 2021. That's the ideal announcement time. Because that's when Ronda Rousey gets out of her WWE deal (which they could possibly elongate because of her time off if they know in advance). It's also sweeps time and upfronts. Imagine The Rock showing up at one with Ronda and showing a promo for his new wrestling promotion to launch over the summer or whatever. Instant storm of attention.
ROH and MLW getting major cash flow injections is the other. Sinclair and DAZN want to play. You need to pay to play. But any of these things pisses all over the vanity project on TNT.

According to Fightful, WWE is currently dealing with a serious case of some within NXT and developmental who still think the coronavirus is just a big hoax and have been spreading conspiracy theories about it there.
Already has led to several other people within NXT becoming very frustrated over what has been going on behind the scenes.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the originator of the spread was Drake Wuertz since he's already been involved as the likely source of the QAnon spread within WWE.
David Bixenspan recently uncovered stuff about Wuertz being a very vocal supporter of that group and even tried to get others within WWE to donate to a QAnon associated charity group that's now being investigated for improper finances and impersonating law enforcement.
Same dumbass who accidentally provided some very valuable ammo against Riddle and WWE for the current lawsuit by Riddle's accuser.

That woman lol. From what I gather, she is selling pics. Then she is freaking out because he said he likes her legs in a pic he bought from her, and then asked if she has booty pics, then she refunded his money and blocked him.
I'm sorry, but I wouldn't exactly say that the screenshots she posted is inappropriate given the nature of their relationship, that being she sells pictures and he asked about buying additional pictures.
I really don't like blaming the victim, but does she put every dude that asks her that on blast, or did she do it to him because he is on tv? She even said at one point "You are pretty well known".

a few thoughts:
1. To its credit, it's one of the few times I have had to question whether something I saw in a wrestling ring is real or not. Because I can't tell if this was a sexual assault or not. And before you say "It's wrestling, of course it isn't." I have to bring up the incidents between Rick Rude and Francine.
2. This had no business taking part in a wrestling event. Full stop. This is wrestling, not porn. I like to keep the two separate.

Seems Lars Sullivan's recent online controversy whittled away more of his remaining support within the company. According to WrestleVotes, Vince still being a supporter of him is why he hasn't been canned yet over his growing controversies.
Lars Sullivan reportedly does not have many supporters left in the WWE locker room, especially after his latest controversy went public on social media this past weekend.
A Reddit user posted a screenshot this weekend that showed how married yoga instructor Annika Naidoo-Fuge blocked Sullivan on Instagram after he made inappropriate comments ...
Lars is no stranger to online controversy, but this latest was made public just a day after he made his return to WWE TV during Friday's SmackDown, after being out of action for more than 1 year with a knee injury.
It was reported today by @Wrestlevotes that WWE is aware of Lars' latest "troubles" online. It was also said that it's beyond safe to say that Lars does not have many supporters left in the WWE locker room. However, one of those supporters has the ultimate say, and that may be the end of it. That supporter is WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.

According to PWInsider, Joey Ryan recently filed a $10 million lawsuit against Impact Wrestling as part of his recent spree of lawsuits.
For the Impact lawsuit, he's suing over claims of them breaching his contract when they fired him over his sexual abuse allegations.
Ryan's contract ran through August 2021 and Impact released him on June 22nd. Based on language in the contract regarding warning and reprimands, he claims they needed to inform of him of any issue in writing along with a "5 day cure period" as it states in the contract.
According to the contract language, if nothing could be worked out by the wrestler in five days, he and Impact would then have 30 days to resolve any issues. At that point, Impact could have terminated the deal another 30 days after that if there was still unresolvable issues.
The $10 million sought is in addition to legal fees and other "relief" that a court may find in his favor.
This comes after Ryan filed multi-million lawsuits against several accusers that emerged during the #SpeakingOut movement earlier this year. PWInsider noted he has filed six lawsuits.

 at Teddy Long's story of the one time he had Mae Young represent him as his lawyer during a WWE's Wrestler Court trial over him selling Viagra pills in the locker room.
Hannibal TV hosted a Q&A session with Teddy Long ...
Teddy recalled being called into Wrestler’s Court in WWE. He said one of the times he was called in was because he was caught selling Viagra to the men’s roster.
“So Undertaker was the judge, and so they took me to Wrestler’s Court twice and the first time they took me to Wrestler’s Court was because I was selling Viagra to the boys. So, they were gonna try and give me this big sentence about the Viagra so I didn’t have no lawyer so, I ended up having to get Mae Young, God rest her soul. Mae Young was my lawyer and so, when I took Mae Young in their with me to Wrestler’s Court to defend me, we almost had my case won and Mae Young yells out and she says, ‘Niagara’ instead of Viagra, so that was a [discrepancy] right there so that’s how I lost my case and so, I ended up having to buy a bunch of beer and a bunch of food and stuff. That was part of my sentence but, Wrestler’s Court was pretty good. I just enjoyed watching other people but they got me twice.”
