WWE making a Top 50 Incidents of WCW dvd similar to what they did with the Top 50 WWE one a few years ago.
Back in 2011 WWE released “OMG! The Top 50 Incidents in WWE History” and as we’ve been reporting of late a follow up DVD/Blu-ray is on the way, focusing on World Championship Wrestling. This time around it will be “OMG! The Top 50 Incidents in WCW History“.
The official synopsis, which we can reveal for the first time below, hints that former WCW announcer Tony Schiavone has been interviewed for the countdown portion (likely filmed when he visited WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT earlier this year), and also gives the impression that there will be Crockett era content featured in the DVD and Blu-ray too.
Relive iconic moments such as Hulk Hogan joining the n.W.o., Magnum T.A. and Tully Blanchard’s infamous “I Quit Match”, the Horsemen assaulting Dusty Rhodes and dozens of others in this countdown.
Hear stories from the men who lived these moments…Tony Schiavone, Booker T, Vince Russo, Big Show, DDP, Dusty Rhodes, Kevin Nash and more.
In addition to the content above, we can confirm that the following moments are also planned to be included in the countdown: Shane McMahon & Vince McMahon appearing on WCW TV, Goldberg beating Hulk Hogan for the title in the Georgia Dome, Dennis Rodman joining the nWo, and David Arquette winning the World Heavyweight Championship.
That’s all, so far. What else could be in there? There’s lots to choose from, including: Eric Bischoff giving away RAW results, Arn Anderson retiring, nWo 2000 forming, Madusa trashing the WWE Women’s Championship, Chris Jericho’s “1004 Holds”, Hulk Hogan’s “Fingerpoke of Doom”, DDP swerving the nWo, Jim Cornette falling off the scaffold, and many more!
The new WCW “OMG!” DVD and Blu-ray will be released on August 12th.

I hope that for all 50 "incidents" they have Tony Schiavone say that it was the greatest incident in the history of their sport.

Dirtsheets:
WWE released several NXT talents this afternoon.
Mason Ryan, a Welsh talent who had been brought up to the main roster for a short period of time as a member of the Nexus while it was under CM Punk's control. Ryan had been pushed in NXT as a big monster type but had disappeared from TV in recent months. He returned to TV on the last episode of NXT, losing to Tyson Kidd.
Shaul Guerrero, the daughter of Eddie and Vickie Guerrero, who was in her second WWE developmental run. She was part of an early version of The Ascension during her first run and had not been used on TV during this run.
Oliver Grey, a British talent, who had just returned from a knee injury after being out for quite some time, losing to Camacho on NXT TV. He was formerly a tag team partner of Adrian Neville, who had been moved into a big singles role while Grey was injury.
Danny Burch, a British talent, had been signed since 2011. He debuted on NXT TV in 2013 but had never been given a regular role or push.
More might have been or are getting released but those were the ones confirmed so far.
It was announced this morning in Japan that Pro Wrestling NOAH star KENTA (real name Kenta Kobayashi, 33 years old) would be leaving the promotion, with his final appearance being 5/17.
As PWInsider.com broke in January, KENTA spent a week at the WWWE Performance Center, training and working out with developmental talents. Upon his return to Japan, he downplayed the time spent in Orlando, Florida, claiming he wanted to take part in WWE's training and a break in the NOAH schedule allowed him to do so.
In a blog entry, KENTA wrote, "It is indeed true that I have always been yearning for a spot in WWE, and I’ve always wanted to give it a try sometime. After all, you only live once. “I should have given it a try.” “I should have chosen another way.” I’ve had those regrets when I was in my middle and high school, and even after I got in to this business. I just did not want to regret later about something I haven’t tried, so I used my time off to participate in the WWE workout. The executives were at the workout, so perhaps I may have left a mark."
With the announcement that he is leaving NOAH, a promotion has he been with since it formed, the obvious question is whether KENTA is leaving for a WWE deal? Obviously, it's easy to assume such (and it's possible those assumptions are correct) but we don't have 100% confirmation on that.
At the time when I came up with it, I wasn't really doing anything too much on the show, I was on the low, cold matches and I wasn't really involved in any program or anything, so I felt like I wanted to do something different. The guy at WWE.com suggested that they use me in some way on the JBL and Cole show, so I had to think about it and Cody Rhodes came up with the idea originally where I would just keep giving bad news to everyone in somewhat of a reflection of my personality in the locker room.

This would be fucking fantastic for both Bad News Barrett and the title itself, and all challengers who dare face him.

JBL strips Paige of the title saying it's not fair to have a champion that is on Raw but gives first title shot to a full time WWE diva?
Perhaps the reasoning was more that he didn't want someone defending two titles on two different brands.

Perhaps the reasoning was more that he didn't want someone defending two titles on two different brands.
Would have made more sense in giving a reason in reference to the precident set by Ultimate Warrior (note: they could get around the name dropping if his death is still a touchy subject).
At the very least, JBL should have "asked her to relinquish" the title, instead of "stripping her" of the title. Better yet, she should have volunteered giving it up so someone else can get the opportunity.
I get that they didn't want to have her drop the NXT belt to someone else after just winning the big butterfly and avoid that whole "Well, x should be Diva's champion then!" or be any weaker of a champion, but that simple wording change makes it sound less like she didn't deserve it or did something wrong.
No. JBL should have forcibly stripped her of the title. He is supposed to be a heel and it would have given Paige some sympathy. Instead, he asked her to relinquish it, she said no, he asked again, she said yes.
My type of girl.

Dirtsheets:
Bill Goldberg definitely has interest in doing WrestleMania 31 if the right deal can be made. That was also the deal last year and no deal was made, because he’s not coming cheap. He’s kept himself in shape, training almost daily at his Muay Thai gym, although he’ll be 48 by next year’s Mania.
Drake Weutz (Drake Younger) is scheduled to report to developmental imminently.
Regal was in Brazil this past weekend for WWE scouting for talent. The idea was to find some Brazilians with potential and bring them to the country because Brazil is an emerging economic market and is high on WWE’s list of places they think they can make money in. There is a real negative stigma in the culture of Brazil against pro wrestling from the 70s and I’m not sure about it, but have heard about it from a number of people. WWE did not do all that well when they debuted in Sao Paulo a few years back. Regal attended the FILL Double Impact promotion in Rio de Janeiro and the BWF Called To Fight group in Sao Paulo.
There was a directive that came in from above regarding the NXT staff about the treatment of some of Gerald Brisco’s wrestling recruits. There was the feeling that Brisco would sign guys with good looks, personality and skills, and then when they got to Orlando, certain people would try and run them off because they didn’t like shooters around.
A new developmental wrestler is Leyvonna Zakari Swaggart, 24, who did a women’s tryout camp earlier this year. She started this week. She’s from Oakland, but has lived for years in Southern California and worked as an actress on the reality TV show “Pageant vs. Playmate” where teams of pretty girls competed. She was on the Pageant team as she’d done beauty pageants in California when she was younger. She’s of Samoan descent and is either friends or a relative with the Usos. She went through the same tryout camp as former TNA wrestler Sarita (Dark Angel in CMLL) went through and to this point wasn’t signed from. Sarita has the look and experience, but the age could be a hindrance since she’s already 35
There will be another season of Tough Enough, according to WWE management.
WWE financial executive George Barrios announced during Thursday's quarterly conference call that a new season of Tough Enough will air on WWE Network.
A timetable for filming and Network release was not announced.
Sarah Backman was also released from NXT with more hinted to be occurring.

After watching a lot of Paige on WWE television, WWE.com and YouTube, I have come to the conclusion that she is still a young lady and acts her age. Although I have reservations, I am looking forward to seeing her grow as a performer and make the Divas Championship (secondary to the Women's Championship) mean something. I also hope that she doesn't get lost in the shuffle. I have a lot of faith in the new batch of divas from NXT.

Chris Jericho interview: 'I know how CM Punk feels'
WWE has seen many a comeback of late, but one man keeping his wrestling powder dry for now is Mr Chris Jericho.
Digital Spy got in touch with The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla, The Man of 1,004 Holds, Mr Y2J himself, ahead of his speaking dates at London's Leicester Square Theatre and Download main stage slot for his band Fozzy in June.
How did you feel about the end of The Streak and how it happened?
"I loved it, I thought it was great. It was a legitimate shock, it got everybody talking. I think the right guy got it, if you're going from a credibility standpoint, and if you're going from a believability standpoint. As much as people and fans and journalists want to believe that it's the case, I'm not sure if Undertaker had too many matches left in him. Maybe he doesn't want to wrestle again. Maybe he knew that he couldn't take any more.
"It's a big, physical task to wrestle as it is, and once a year is hard. I wouldn't want to come and wrestle just once a year. That's even harder than wrestling 200 times a year, because your body's not used to it. And the older you get, the harder it gets, the more the aches and pains kick in.
"Maybe The Undertaker decided that, 'I don't want to do this anymore'. And much to the fans' chagrin, who wish that we would wrestle until the day we die at 90 years old and explode into a puff of dust in the ring, sometimes you've got to make that decision.
"If the time was now, Brock was the right guy for that day, and I thought it was amazing. And I would have hated it - hated it - if Undertaker would have retired without losing. I think that would have been a horrible way to go, I'm really happy that he lost The Streak."
What do you think of the work Paul Heyman's done in the last year, and especially since WrestleMania?
"If it's Paul Heyman you know it's going to be good. He's a master at writing promos, at delivering promos and getting an angle over. He's just one of those talents that can do it all. It doesn't surprise me in the least - as a matter of fact it surprises me that people are so surprised at how good it's been.
"The WWE is always morphing and changing in a good way because you have younger guys that are coming in, you have guys that are finally having their chance and breaking through to the next level, and you've got guys like Paul Heyman that have been doing this for so long they know exactly how to handle things, exactly how to get things over."
Will Daniel Bryan be able to maintain or even build on his success now he's got the belts?
"I don't know, that's something you'll have to ask him. I always knew he'd get to that level, I always knew he'd be a top guy because he'd done it before everywhere else that he'd ever worked. It was no surprise to me.
"Will he be able to sustain it? I guess that depends on him, on how he's booked, but he's definitely got the chops for it. He's a great performer, he's got a great connection with the fans. It took so long for them to pull the trigger, I think people were really excited to see it happen, and now that they've got their wish hopefully they continue to support him at the highest level."
You were a record nine-time Intercontinental Champion - it used to be a serious strap, but now it lacks that lustre - do you agree and is there a way of making it the big prize it once was?
"Of course I agree with it, there's nothing to not agree with. As a teenager, as a wrestling fan, all I wanted to do was become the Intercontinental Champion. That was to me the biggest thing you could be, because Ricky Steamboat was the Intercontinental Champion, Randy Savage was the Intercontinental Champion.
"I couldn't verbalise this at the time, but it was almost the worker's championship. You had the Heavyweight belt, that was defended on certain occasions, then you had the Intercontinental Championship that was defended every week, and there was always really good guys involved with it. It has gone down, even since I had it last.
"A lot of the belts were like this, even the World Championship were just props that were liberally given to just anybody, and that was never the way before. Maybe now they're doing a tournament they'll put a bit more steam on it.
"But they've got to get rid of US championship, it doesn't mean anything, maybe if they do that the other one would mean more. It just seems the Intercontinental title and the Tag Team titles don't mean as much as they used to for whatever reasons. But they're kind of just props anyway. Hopefully they'll do something more with it, but if not it just means that my record will never be broken!"
Does the WWE miss the competition it had from the WCW?
"It's always good when there's competition and there was a real, legitimate war that was going on. The Monday Night War was real between the two companies. If the roster of WCW would have met the roster of WWE in a back alley there would have been a rumble. It was a legit thing.
"If you're in a race and you're 100 feet ahead of the guy behind you, you're going to slow down a bit. If the guy's two feet behind you catching up, you're going to run faster, that's just human nature. Of course it's not good to not have competition, but at this point in time you can't compete with the WWE.
"It's a machine, it's a monster, it's got decades of history behind it. At this point in time, even if you had $20 billion to spend on wrestling and great TV it would still take years and years and years to be able to compete with the WWE brand name in itself.
"The more competition there is, the more companies there is, the more places there is for the boys to work and that's always a good thing. But as far as being legitimate competition to the WWE, I don't think that's even possible any more. The best you can do is to be a suitable alternative to the WWE."
What do you think about the rumours of a CM Punk return?
"I don't know, man, who knows, right? That's something that only he can answer for sure. To me, if he hasn't come back already, then... I left the WWE for two-and-a-half years in 2005. The only difference was I left when my contract was up, but I disappeared too, because I just was over it. I couldn't take it anymore, I wasn't interested in being there, I was getting miserable, so I know how he feels.
"I had no intention of coming back, and after two-and-a-half years I watched Shawn Michaels vs John Cena at WrestleMania 23 and that inspired me to want to come back, but it took two-and-a-half years to get there.
"So my answer is, 'I don't know', but I just know how I was when I did the same thing. It took a long time for me to be able to come back, and I was probably the same age as Punk is now too, so maybe he's going through the same thing and after a few years he'll come back."
How would you feel about Sting joining the WWE in some capacity?
"Personally I don't really have any opinions either way. If he comes to the WWE, good for him, it's great. I saw him a couple of times in TNA and you know pretty much what he can do at this point in time. He is a legend and to have him come to the WWE for the first time would be great, but after a week or two what's he going to do there?
"If you're a hardcore fan it might be cool - for me it doesn't really matter either way; if that's what he wants to do then good for him, and I hope he shows up. And if not, then I don't think it's going to make a difference either way in WWE business. It's not 1998 anymore, you know."
And yourself - are you gearing up for one of your famous entrances?
"Even if I was I wouldn't tell you! It's an open door policy on both of our ends to go back... I love wrestling - I always have, I still do but from the moment I left WWE back in July it's not like I've had a moment not doing something else.
"There's a lot of stuff going on - by design. Four or five years ago I realised that I'm not going to be wrestling forever - I don't want to be wrestling forever, I can't wrestle forever. Because the day that comes that I can't have a match that I think is worthy of Chris Jericho, I'm not going to do it. Now, that could be tomorrow, that could be ten years from now, but when it's done, what do I do?
"If the time comes for my schedule, and the WWE's schedule - the last thing they're doing is waiting around for Chris Jericho to come back, they've got other things to think about. And what will I be doing when I come back?
"I spoke to them in November about coming back in January, but neither of us could really agree on what it was I would be doing, and not in a bad way. If I'm going to come back, what am I going to be doing at WrestleMania?
"Let's see, we've got Batista coming back, we've got Brock Lesnar coming back, we've got Undertaker coming back, we've got Hulk Hogan coming back, we've got the ascension of Bray Wyatt, we've got the ascension of The Shield, Cesaro's ready to go and Daniel Bryan's ready to go. Where do I fit in?
"People were like, 'Are you going to come back and be in the André the Giant Battle Royal?' Absolutely not. I would never come back for that. Not that there's anything wrong with being in that, but why would Chris Jericho, six-time world champion, come back just to be in a Battle Royal? It doesn't make any sense, it would have to be something I could sink my teeth into, something of merit. Something worthwhile in my mind.
"That doesn't mean coming back just to work for the world title, it could mean coming back to work with anybody, but there has to be a story and a reason behind it. If there isn't, there's no reason for me to come back and I'm not interested in that.
"The same with the WWE - like I said, I talk to them all the time, we have a great relationship, but if it doesn't work for both of us, then it won't happen. When the time comes where it does, then it will. It's as simple as that."

As noted before, midget wrestler Short Sleeve Sampson is booked for Sunday's WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view, likely in the WeeLC match between Hornswoggle and El Torito.
Sampson will likely be the special referee for that match.
We do know that WWE was looking at many other midget wrestlers & personalities, before they scheduled Sampson, so it's possible they have something planned with more midgets besides Sampson, Torito and Hornswoggle.

Random Bo Dallas idea:
At Extreme Rules, Daniel Bryan is being interviewed by Renee Young or something, talking about how serious he is about tonight. Bo Dallas walks in and tells Daniel Bryan that he Bolieves in him, and the WWE Universe Bolieves in him too. Bryan is all "Kid, I get you mean well, but you need to get out of my face right now." Dallas just grins and walks off.
Bryan finds a way to defeat Kane in the Extreme Rules Match, but Kane's assault continues after the match. Bo Dallas runs down with a steel chair and fights off Kane. Bo gives Bryan the thumbs up and walks to the back with his huge cheesy grin on his face.
RAW ticks around and Bryan wants to thank Bo Dallas for helping him out. He never asked for Bo Dallas' help, but he did save his ass. Bo Dallas comes out with his big cheesy entrance and Daniel Bryan's face says it all -- this kid is a bit ridiculous. "Wow. And I thought I was over the top." - Bryan.
Bo tells Bryan that his title win at WrestleMania XXX was truly inspirational. Everybody loves Daniel Bryan. You can't help but detect insincerity in Dallas' voice. Bryan thanks Bo, but says that he's now painted a target on his back. Kane will be looking at Bo for revenge. Bo says that's fine, because he doesn't Bolieve in monsters. He then does a fake laugh. Bryan asks Bo just why he did come down and save him. Bo says it was because people need hope. America needs hope. And Bo Dallas is Your Hope. Daniel Bryan was getting beat-up pretty bad, so Bo had to do something so that these people didn't lose hope. Bryan tells Bo that he didn't need his help. Bo tells Bryan that he really did. They perhaps even do a "YES!"/"NO!" bit. Bryan then says that regardless of whether or not he needed it, he brought out Bo to say thanks to him.
"Is that it? Where I come from -- America -- it's good manners to show your gratitude to someone." - Bo.
Bryan goes "Ah, there it is. Bo Dallas' true motives emerge. What is it you want, Bo?" Dallas tells us that it was always his dream to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and he wants to do it in a way no one has ever done it before -- on his very first night on RAW! Bryan accepts the challenge.
Before the match, there is one last "BOLIEVE" video, where Bo talks about the hard-fought journeys Superstars throughout history have had to take to the title. But he will do it on his first night on the job. Bolieve. Then Bo makes his grand entrance for his first match as part of the main roster. The commentators can talk about how Bo hasn't really earned this opportunity and JBL can talk about how Bo Dallas is a tremendous young man, came back from a kidney injury, was the longest running NXT Champion in history and saved Bryan at Extreme Rules -- of course he earned it.
"What did you do to earn your WrestleMania match, Mackal?"
Bo offers a handshake to Bryan before the match, and Bryan accepts. The two do some chain-wrestling, and it's apparent that Bryan has the edge there, and Bo shows some early frustration. Eventually, Bo does turn the match around and presses a little bit of an advantage as JBL talks about how Dallas was one second away from becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion on his first night! Bryan has a counter for everything, though, and manages to make a comeback against Dallas. Bryan gets Dallas in The YES! Lock as Kane hits the ring and begins attacking both men. There's Chokeslams for both and Kane stands tall to end the segment. The official result is a double disqualification.
This enrages Bo Dallas, who wants a piece of Kane for ruining his grand moment. Michael Cole thinks Dallas is insane, but JBL reminds him that he held his own against Daniel Bryan -- he's the real deal. Bascially, you insert Dallas into a main event storyline right out the gate to put the spotlight on him early. His character remains much the same of what it is in NXT, but he's chasing the WWE World Title even though he hasn't really earned a shot, due to his youthful impatience and manipulative nature.
You wouldn't put the World Title on Bo, but you'd get him out the gate strong. Hell, he might even get over as some sort of backwards babyface against Kane. When he eventually gets a one-on-one shot against Bryan without interference, he taps out, but that can be used to transform him into an even more obsessive character.
Mr. Nerfect
05-03-2014, 06:06 AM
tl;dr version:
I've decided I want to see Bo Dallas feud with Daniel Bryan right out the gate. He manipulates his way into Bryan's spotlight and tries to make himself cosy there, worming his way into a World Title match his first night. He basically plays a spoilt and expectant insincere character, who wants everything now.
Mr. Nerfect
05-03-2014, 06:08 AM
Bo Dallas could be huge. Just imagine the promo work he could do with Daniel Bryan:
"Bo, you haven't earned a title shot."
"But Daniel, on your first night you faced the World Heavyweight Champion..."
You can present Dallas as a kid who is clearly more together than he appears to be. You can even drop subtle hints of his relationship with Bray Wyatt. After he loses to Daniel Bryan and has a mini-meltdown, he can start singing "He's got the whole world in his hands..." to calm himself down.
Mr. Nerfect
05-03-2014, 06:11 AM
Bo can "nice guy" hit on Brie Bella during the storyline:
"Hi Brie. I just wanted to say I think your husband is a really great guy. I can understand that your troubles with Kane lately must be really stressful, and Daniel's got his focus on the World Heavyweight Championship and not on you. Look, my mother was a therapist, so if you ever need anyone to talk to about your problems, give me a buzz...here's my number..."
Mr. Nerfect
05-03-2014, 06:12 AM
I also want Fandango to come back as a darker character. In fact, you can flat-out go "Crowdango" with him, and have him appear in the rafters watching all of The Shield's matches after Extreme Rules, with the commentators bringing up that he was Triple Powerbombed off the stage by them.
Mr. Nerfect
05-03-2014, 06:14 AM
Come up with an entirely new moniker for Johnny Curtis. It is time. After he eventually attacks The Shield, he is approached by a backstage interviewer.
"Fandango, what did we just see?"
"Sssh...Fandango is dead. I am now...Poetic Justice."
Yeah, I know that's terrible, but it's kind of the point. He keeps some of the mannerisms and eccentricities of Fandango, but he's actually a bit unhinged and dangerous at the same time.

Some random trivia questions for folk that are as bored and dorky as me (probably no one):
#1:
I'm a second generation wrestler. My brother and I have had a lot of success together, although sometimes you wouldn't have even known we were related. If you looked at my career, you'd probably come to the conclusion that I believe very strong in the phrase "There is safety in numbers." Perhaps my lasting impression on the biggest promotion I worked for is that a move I used as a finisher is now used as a finishing move by an active wrestler. My second finisher in the same company is also currently used by a former World Champion, although I never achieved much success with it myself. At one point in my career, I had a very cinematic entrance. I have stood up to a crooked employer before, but was quite content going to work for another one, although again, you might not have known it. In the biggest promotion I worked for, every time I won a championship, I won it from a future World Champion. I also have an odd connection to radio.
#2:
I've actually got a very good win-loss record in matches, although my career started off with a significant loss. The biggest night of my professional career turned into one of the worst nights of my professional career. At least two of my partners have been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. I was part of a well-received team that was just destined to be on a "C-show" forever. We both still work for the same company. Like one of my mentors, I once slightly tweaked my name in a very similar fashion to how they tweaked theirs. The guy I wrestled my first televised tag team match with and I would go our separate ways, but ended up working together again in a completely different role. We also both met our wives on the job.
Mr. Nerfect

#3:
I share a surname with a Hall of Famer. I was brought into the company I achieved my greatest success in by someone who would go on to defeat me for a championship. My finishing move was a risky one to pull off. Besides the name, some might say I have a lot in common with at least two other very notable Intercontinental Champions in the WWE's history. One of my trainers also trained a current WWE performer who shares a similar character quirk to me. I have had a controversial history of surgeries in the past.

I'd watch it. Only flaw is the only way is down from there.
Also, surely they'd do a YES!/BO! thing rather than a YES!/NO!

- WWE recently purchased a library of Mid-Atlantic Wrestling footage shot in Virginia at ringside next to the ring announcer, from Jim Crockett Promotions events. The footage was filmed by George Pantas, as he revealed in the Norfolk Navy Flagship. The footage includes what may be the only complete match on tape featuring Ric Flair vs. Buddy Rogers.

As noted, Batista isn't booked for any WWE shows after tomorrow's Extreme Rules pay-per-view. His last night for the time being is scheduled to be the pay-per-view or RAW on Monday night.
We knew that Batista would be taking some time off to promote Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy but nobody expected it to come this quick. Word is that WWE wanted to do Batista vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at June's Payback pay-per-view but Batista turned it down. Batista felt that him losing to someone smaller than him, after he tapped out to him at WrestleMania XXX and right before he's going to appear in a big summer blockbuster movie, wouldn't be a good fit for him and would not be a good way for fans to remember him until he returns again.
The plan was for Batista to work through Payback and then take some time off but since he turned it down, he's finishing up early because it was said that WWE has nothing else for him. No word yet on what this means for Evolution. Batista is still expected back for SummerSlam.
There have been discussions of making the NXT tapings biweekly instead of monthly so the last episode of the taping isn't a month old. We were told that it has to do with popularity increasing thanks to the network, but this is also on the heels of continuity issues when they had to insert new segments like John Layfield stripping Paige of the women's title into the show.
Sheamus' heel turn could happen during or right after the European tour. They didn't want him turning heel right before and losing momentum by getting cheered so early in his heel run.
The working plan for trying to get Goldberg for WrestleMania 31 is to follow a similar path that the Ultimate Warrior took: Put him in the video game, announce him around SummerSlam, and then use that to build to Mania. Being a focal point of the video game promotion on top of a WM booking is the most financially beneficial way that it can go for him, so we'll have a much better idea of whether or not he's doing anything after SummerSlam weekend.
WWE has come to terms to purchase a library of Mid-Atlantic Wrestling shot in Virginia at ringside next to the ring announcer, from Jim Crockett Promotions events filmed by George Pantas.
Unlike the Mid-Atlantic material that was purchased as part of the WCW library in 2001, Pantas' footage was filmed on 8 and Super 8 cameras and was owned by Pantas.
WWE first became aware of the footage when it was licensed for the Michael Elliot documentary on Jim Crockett Promotions' "The Good Old Days", which can be purchased at www.highspots.com.
The footage includes perhaps the only complete match on film featuring Ric Flair vs. Buddy Rogers.
Pantas recently made the purchase public in this column for Norfolk Navy Flagship, but I am told the purchase went down about two months ago.

Some more trivia, because you all love it like Lana's ass:
#4:
Some may call me a former World Champion. My military credentials have been called into question at least once. I've managed to win a championship in every major North American promotion I have ever competed in. Two of my finishing moves might test the sanity of an opponent. Another briefly used move took the name of something mechanical. My cousin has had two stints with a company I worked for, but won no championships, and never competed using my name. I share a surname with the real name of a well known referee. I respect my elders and have helped them out a fair a bit. I took after someone very close to me by doning a similar outfit over a decade after they did so. The person I made my in-ring debut against and I have competed on the big stage since, most of that time in the same company, but we have never held a common championship, this is despite my tenure with that company being quite notable for a while. I also have a bizarre history both winning and losing a specific championship to someone the opposite gender to me.
#5:
I had a very notable win as part of the WWE's SmackDown brand. My finishing move is sweet, and is now one of the most popular moves in all of professional wrestling, although it would be unfair of me to take sole credit of that. I have a clever way of getting around the law. I outlasted a former tag team partner, but he was never my best friend. I used to ask a very specific question of viewers. I may have been a fan of a classic 80's comedy film, but this is just an assumption you could draw. A tag team partner of mine may have also been a fan of a notable 90's video game. I have another tag team partner who might like shoes. I wrestled my tryout match for the biggest promotion I worked for using the real name of a friend I got my start in the business with. I once held a championship that CM Punk never won, but Dean Ambrose has held for almost a year.

Trent Barreta
You nailed it. :y:
You're right, I was referencing the FIP World Heavyweight Championship and not the WWE United States Championship.
Trent Barreta scored a huge upset against Drew McIntyre when he rolled him up as Drew was looking to toss Barreta to the outside. This was made out to be a huge upset.
Trent's finishing move is the Gobstopper, which is the Busaiku Knee which Daniel Bryan has also adapted into the Knee Plus. A Gobstopper is also a type of candy treat (sweet).
By changing the spelling of his name, he gets to keep using it on the independent circuit, sidestepping any (if there are any) trademark infringements he may be stepping on.
Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft were The Dudebusters (that was my dodgy 80's comedy reference, and "Croft" was linked to the 90's video game character, Lara Croft from Tomb Raider), but Croft was released whilst Barreta stayed on the roster as a singles act. After leaving the WWE, Barreta would form a team with Chuck Taylor (who shares his name with a type of shoe) called "Best Friends."
Trent Barreta worked tryout matches for the WWE under the ring name "Greg Cardona," the surname of which is the real name of WWE Superstar, Zack Ryder, who trained in the same facility as Barreta.

* Chavo Guerrero was a former ECW Champion. Some people may try to press the case that it is a World Championship, but others (including the WWE), would probably say that it isn't.
* Chavo competed as "Lt. Loco" in WCW.
* He won championships in WCW, WWE and TNA.
* As Lt. Loco, he used a Tornado DDT I once read was called the "Loco DDT." I can't find that now, so maybe I was mistaken about that. Whoops. He used a Brainbuster early on in his WWE days. Loco/brainbuster -- just something to do with the functionality of the brain.
* Chavo briefly used an STF that was dubbed the "Low Rider" in his SmackDown Six days.
* Shaul Guerrero has just left the WWE for the second time. She never won a title and wrestled as "Raquel Diaz."
* Chavo competed as "Kerwin White" as part of the RAW brand for a while, and there was a well known referee named Tim White.
* He served as a tag team partner to his Uncle Eddie, he brought in his father for a WWE run and he always looked after Aunt Vickie.
* Chavo Guerrero dressed up as the Swagger Soaring Eagle and supported Jack Swagger. Mando Guerrero infamously portrayed The Gobbeldy Gooker. Giant bird costumes was the reference with the doning of outfits there.
* Chavo wrestled his first match in WCW against William Regal. Chavo would go on to become a WCW Tag Team Champion, Cruiserweight Champion, WWE Tag Team Champion and ECW Champion. William Regal has held the WCW TV Title, WWE European Title, WWE Hardcore Title, WWE IC Title and World Tag Team Titles. Chavo and Regal both spent quite a few years in WCW together, before they both made the jump to WWE. Chavo was at one point the only contracted employee brought over from the acquisition of WCW.
* Chavo Guerrero won the Cruiserweight Title from Daffney at one point, and he also lost it to Jacqueline at another point. He also lost it the Hornswoggle, but that wasn't part of the question.

From an in-ring standpoint, NJPW is still the best product in the world, in my opinion.
Also, kinda agree with Batista on not jobbing to Bryan again. It would be one thing if he wasn't leaving and could do something immediately afterwards to protect his cred, but as it stands, losing to Bryan twice then leaving would definitely hurt his credibility as a top heel.

There has been a lot of talk within WWE about where Daniel Bryan will be in the next few months. Some higher-ups feel that Bryan isn’t over, it’s the “yes!” chant that is over. They feel that Bryan peaked at WrestleMania XXX with the WWE World Heavyweight Title win.
It’s said that a lot of top guys argue with officials about how they’re booked or portrayed but Bryan doesn’t. There’s not a lot of ego with how Bryan carries himself backstage and in how he deals with creative.
There are many people waiting to see if Bryan cools off and gets moved out of his current position or if he gets hotter and stays there.

To be honest, I can kind of see where the "higher-ups" are coming from about the whole Yes! chant.
I personally thought the same at one point. It doesn't matter who you are, if you start saying "Yes!" while pointing in the air with both hands, a "Yes! Chant" will take off. Even Del Rio can do it, albeit without pointing in the air, and he does it in Spanish and he's also a Heel.
Emperor Smeat
05-04-2014, 05:26 PM
Del Rio doing it might also prove its not just the chant that is over considering the lack of response he gets (either crowd chanting Si or booing him). Same for when they tried to give the Ole chant to the Los Matadores when it was Sami Zayn's.
A few chants like the "Feed Me More" and the whole "Let's Go Cena/Cena sucks" are better cases of the chant being the ting that is over more.

According to The Wrestling Observer, the main event for WWE Payback on 6/1 is up in the air pending Batista's status with the company following Extreme Rules.
Vince McMahon wants a Daniel Bryan vs Batista main event at Payback, and it's being said Batista's decision to possibly take time off after last night has left officials not happy with potentially having to change the main event plans for the PPV.
It’s being said if Batista does in fact plan to take time off following Raw tonight, then the likely Payback main event will be Daniel Bryan vs Kane in a Buried Alive Match. This is why WWE had Kane rise at the end of their match last night, to leave the door open for the possible Payback match. As of now, Batista is scheduled to appear on Raw tonight.
Anybody watched these? It's presented by Joey Styles.
They're pretty good and it gives you some interesting facts. Some of which I didn't know, like the fact about the ring at WrestleMania 29.
As a guy who really would love to visit the WWE Warehouse, I think these videos are a great idea and I think it's also cool to see some stuff I remember hidden in the background and also when the camera cuts from one thing to another.

Dirtsheets:
There are many WWE talents that are currently upset over money and pay. No more details are available yet.
This appears to be part of what's going on with Batista. It's said that Batista's problem is not with Daniel Bryan. Batista isn't happy with how things he was told would happen when he came in have been changed. It was said that the money isn't that great and when you have money like he does, it makes it easier to leave, as we saw with CM Punk. Batista was scheduled to take time off in June any way and he had decided to just leave a few weeks early.
We noted before that WWE officials spent Sunday trying to talk him into working with Bryan at Payback. We noted early Sunday via PWInsider that backstage at Extreme Rules, Batista was giving the impression that he might stick around through Payback. The last word on his status for Payback came just a few hours before his match last night and word is that "it wasn't looking good."
Current TNA star Kenny King will be appearing on this week's WWE Legends House. At the time of this taping, he was a Chippendale’s dancer part time in the Las Vegas, was shown teaching some of the WWE legends how to be a Chippendale’s dancer. The episode was said to have been shot in late 2011, however King signed with TNA in June of 2012.
Adam Rose's debut on RAW reportedly came off much much better live than it did on TV. It was decided not to have him in a match so that they could get audiences more familiar with him.

Decided to start a new thing here called "Titantron Tuesday". It's got to be Tuesday as we all love a catchy name.
Basically, every Tuesday I'll post a Titantron here of any former or current WWE Superstar during any point in their WWE career, and hopefully it'll kick-start a discussion of sorts, either about the wrestler, the gimmick, the theme, the tron, their fueds, whatever. Hopefully some of my picks will also get some of you thinking "oh yeah, I remember him/her". I'm hoping to find some good ones that are still up on YouTube and haven't been taken down by the WWE yet.
It's only going to be WWF/E trons though as WCW's trons were commonly referred to as "TurnerTrons". A "TurnerTron Tuesday" might work, but that would just lead to some sort of "Tuesday Tron War" or whatever.
Anyway, the idea came to me a while ago when I was on TPWW and I was really bored as there was really nothing happening, and I didn't want to just post something humorous and then leave. I was looking to have a discussion with someone but I had nothing to talk about. Titantron Tuesday gives us all a reason/chance to talk about many things about the tron/wrestler that's been posted, and at the same time, let's us enjoy some great themes.

The reason for Richards being the first, is that I find him to be pretty cool, along with his theme, if I'm being honest. I like Richards and his matches are always entertaining. It sucks he never really had much success in the WWE outside of the Hardcore Division, as having Richards be at least a Tag Team Champion with someone would have been really great to see.
I was thinking of saying he should have had an Intercontinental Championship run, but I'm being realistic. I already feel a little bit like Noid (I say that with love) typing all this stuff, so I'm trying to be a little realistic with what I say. I guess he could have been IC Champion during his Right To Censor days. That would have been great to see. Especially if it had happened during Ivory's Women's Championship reign and Bull Buchanan & The Goodfather's Tag Team Championship reign.
Speaking of RTC, they were a great stable. They're actually one of the things I remember the most from that time period. I would have liked to have seen them stay together for a bit longer but what we did get was great anyway. I always like to think that with RTC wanting the WWF to think of the children, tone down the sex and violence and all that, that in the end, they "won". They got their way. The WWE being PG these days is pretty much what Right To Censor wanted.
But moving on, I also really liked his whole Stevie Night Heat stuff, where he became the self proclaimed General Manager of Heat. I always enjoyed watching Heat more than usual during that time. Maybe during that time, a run as Tag Team Champion would have been good. I was thinking that his partner could have been Crash Holly, as seeing those guys as a team would have been interesting and I'm sure it would have also had it's funny moments. But it wouldn't have lasted long with Crash being released in 2003, then sadly passing away.
But hey, Richards always comes across as this really chilled nice guy who would be great to hang out with, and also a very smart man. I wouldn't mind seeing him back in the WWE but I doubt they would have anything for him. Him being a NXT Trainer would be good. I remember hearing that he always helped Vince and Shane train for their matches. So if that's true, I guess he'll be in Vince's "good books".

Its a more PG gimmick than what he had on NXT originally. His success will be probably based if he can get a good finish that isn't a Bret Hart mid-match move.

That's no excuse, go watch his matches from NXT
Although I would say his transition from Hunter Leo Kruger to full on creep Leo Kruger was great and his in-ring action then was better than anything as Adam Rose- so far.

On NXT this week, Adam Rose debuted a new finisher, the Party Foul, which looked to be something like a belly-to-back shoulder facebuster.

On a brighter note in that Connor vid... damn, sounded like he stiffed HHH pretty good with that shot. Caught him perfectly to get that good, loud sound.
I legit wonder if/when they build a physical HoF, if they'll at least have a memorial shrine to kids like him and all the Wish recipients and such. Seems like it would be worth doing.

Oh I fully expect in about 2 months for his entrance to be taken away and for him to be getting squashed by Alberto del Rio as they prepare ADR for his next two month push.
