If you remember in the late '90s watching Beyond the Mat, seeing videos of him cutting nonsensical, drunken slurred promos, jacking off a snake between his legs while high on who knows what and basically just assuming he was gonna die any day then the fact that he is in decent shape, clean and has a shot to compete in a WWE ring in 2014 is an incredible story. Why shouldn't people be excited for it?

Define "entertaining". He's not gonna put on a wrestling clinic but a lot of people were entertained just seeing him on Raw with the snake and a lot of people will be entertained if he come into the Rumble and just lays a few people out with DDTs or clears the ring with a snake before getting thrown out. It's the story and the nostalgia factor.

I agree that people should hold off on calling for him to have a permanent roll just yet. That would require actual skills which he may or may not still have. As far as people being excited for a Rumble appearance though, I don't see why they shouldn't be.

Because quite simply, since his return, he has done nothing. It was basically the equivalent of a live, moving 'before and after' picture. His presence took away from what should have been a fairly big moment for Roman Reigns, a current superstar who HAS been proving to be entertaining for over a year now.

I would love for Jake to come out and do something amazingly fun to watch at no one's expense if he really still has it in him, but again, he has shown no reason for any of us to think that he's capable of that just yet.

Have no problem with him becoming part of the usual group of Legends the WWE likes to bring out every so often. Would have been nice had he been a lot more healthy to be a possible Rumble surprise this year but him being involved in a Rumble segment would be just as good.

Even though the backstage overall is a lot better than in the past, still wouldn't want him hanging around there for long periods of time to minimize any possible relapses.

What your saying applies to him making a full time return. He doesn't need to be capable of putting on a match or cutting a promo for an inconsequential, fun Royal Rumble moment that requires him to hit a couple DDTs or throw a snake in the ring and then get tossed over the top by someone like Reigns or Ambrose.

Right now for Rumble, the only two matches besides the Rumble that are clear are Orton vs. Cena in a must be a winner match for the world title, and Show vs. Lesnar. Show vs. Lesnar had been planned months ago, with the idea Lesnar goes over Show strong to set him up for Undertaker. As of now, that is still the plan. The past few weeks they had done nothing in that direction and from Smackdown the sense was it would be Langston, as Show wasn’t even involved.

Regarding Hulk Hogan and WrestleMania, Roddy Piper has pushed for an idea of Hogan & Cena vs. Piper & Punk

Jake Roberts’ return at Raw would seem to indicate a good chance they’ll give him a Royal Rumble spot, which has been his goal. I just don't see the need to split up every tag team to get a quick feud before trying to make two new singles stars from the aftermath, I get that it is a time tested formula and the easiest feud in the world to book but just seems like a waste more often than not. You could keep them as a team while they branched out into singles feuds, if one clicks great, if not you haven't had to split up a tag team you'll just reform again in a few months.

I just find it interesting that they're from the same family as Roman Reigns, and people are talking about such a big push for him and yet The Usos seem to be just tag guys. And there is nothing wrong with that. I just wonder if people see that same potential for them.

If they were to have a go at singles competition, I would have them lose a tag team match with the added stipulation being that if they lost then they won't be able to team with each other for a year or something.

Here is a cool storyline that I came up with. It's going to be a Noid post.

In a backstage segment, Jinder Mahal announces to his fellow 3MB members that he met a girl and he intends to settle down with her. He introduces her next week to 3MB. Heath Slater identifies the girl as his sister. He opens a can of whoop ass on Jinder Mahal. Heath's sister tells him that she is serious about Jinder. The very next week, Heath Slater comes and cuts a promo on Jinder Mahal and challenges him to a match at the Wrestlemania XXX kick-off. If Jinder wins the match, he gets Heath's blessings.

The two eventually meet at Mania and Jinder pulls off a huge upset as he makes Slater submit to the camel clutch after a gruesome battle that lasted for a good fifteen minutes. After the match, Slater embraces his sister and Jinder. Drew McIntyre joins the group hug and cries along as the entire crowd get overwhelmed by the emotional moment.

The storyline progresses as Jinder Mahal comes to know that his parents have already arranged his marriage with a Canadian Punjabi girl. This introduces Jinder's parents to the show and the story continues :shifty:

Sami Zayn appeared on crutches at the NXT taping earlier this week. We are told he tweaked his knee but is expected to be back in the ring within the month.

WWE NXT Women's champion Paige is also injured, although we haven't heard the nature of her injury. The last time she worked in the ring as an event was the weekend of 11/23.

In asking around, there are a lot of NXT talents who are banged up right now. Some are attributing that to the high level of drills they are doing daily, because the human body can only do so much and at some point, the law of averages is going to catch up to you.

The uber-producer behind Survivor and The Bible is teaming with Robert Rodriguez's new Latino-themed network to create a weekly hourlong series featuring a new lucha libre league. The Mexican wrestling series will debut in the second half of 2014.

Burnett's One Three Media will partner with Lucha Libre AAA -- Mexico's leading league -- and FactoryMade Ventures. Antonio Cue Sanchez-Navarro and LatinoAmerica's largest production group, Alex Garcia's AG Studios, are also on board for the new venture.

"Starting this business with a new television series on a cutting-edge network like El Rey is very exciting," Burnett said in a release announcing the news. "And it doesn't end there. Wrestling is a billion-dollar business in the U.S., and with partners like Robert Rodriguez, Lucha Libre AAA and the rest of our great team, our new lucha libre league will make that market even bigger."

Mark Burnett is bringing AAA Mexico to the US on TV's El Rey Network

Mark Burnett is expanding his empire to the El Rey Network.

The uber-producer behind Survivor and The Bible is teaming with Robert Rodriguez's new Latino-themed network to create a weekly hourlong series featuring a new lucha libre league. The Mexican wrestling series will debut in the second half of 2014.

Burnett's One Three Media will partner with Lucha Libre AAA -- Mexico's leading league -- and FactoryMade Ventures. Antonio Cue Sanchez-Navarro and LatinoAmerica's largest production group, Alex Garcia's AG Studios, are also on board for the new venture.

"Starting this business with a new television series on a cutting-edge network like El Rey is very exciting," Burnett said in a release announcing the news. "And it doesn't end there. Wrestling is a billion-dollar business in the U.S., and with partners like Robert Rodriguez, Lucha Libre AAA and the rest of our great team, our new lucha libre league will make that market even bigger."

Added Rodriguez: "El Rey Network is all about the unexpected which is why this is the perfect partnership. Our association with Lucha Libre AAA, FactoryMade and Mark Burnett's One Three Media speaks to our commitment to create content that resonates for a culturally diverse generation -- one that expects high impact and excitement from their entertainment programming."

As part of the new pact, the group will develop monthly and quarterly specials, as well as pay-per-view lucha libre events. Merchandise, licensing and product integration opportunities for the league are also being explored.

TNA officials have been in talks with "The American Wolves" Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards for several weeks now, likely since the duo got word that WWE wouldn't be signing them.

It's expected they will be debuting for TNA soon as they have canceled some upcoming independent wrestling dates. It's possible they could appear on Thursday's live Impact Wrestling from Huntsville, Alabama.

he used to be. Now (and for the last however many years) he makes a living repeating the same shit over and over again because for some reason some people still find it entertaining. He's Iron Sheik levels of ridiculous now. Most of it is probably a work because he knows it sells, it's just all a bit boring.
