While Sting has been expected to appear and actually wrestle at next month's WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, word is that as of this afternoon he is not scheduled to make any kind of appearance that night.

There was some speculation among WWE talents that Sting may team with Stephen Amell to face Stardust and possibly The Miz, with the idea that both Amell and Sting are "vigilantes.". There has also been talk that Sting would team with Roman Reigns to face The Wyatt Family but PWInsider says that is all speculation as WWE is not planning on using Sting at SummerSlam as of late this afternoon.

Sting will be in New York City that weekend to make the SummerSlam Experience signing appearance but apparently WWE will not be using him at SummerSlam after all.
According to the Observer, WWE is leaning towards Sting vs Bray based on recent commercials shot for the event.

Discussions between WWE and WWN/Evolve regarding some type of partnership appear to have ended without a deal. The two companies were rumored to be discussing a partnership of some kind in early June. Evolve booker Gabe Sapolsky did not respond to a request for comment on the matter as of this update. WWE previously had no comment regarding the rumored discussions between the two sides.

Powell's POV: One source noted that the feeling within WWE is that they don't have to pay someone to assess independent talent when they have people within the company such as William Regal who are doing that now. Others felt that the idea was for WWE to compensate WWN/Evolve to some level so the promotion could provide independent talent with a place to work outside Ring of Honor.

Bryan currently has a much different view of the business, as he is now only watching instead of wrestling. When asked who is currently the best in the business, he quickly decided upon two names.

“Cesaro in the ring is as good as anybody out there in WWE,” said Bryan. “If you’re talking the entire wrestling world, there is a guy in New Japan [Pro Wrestling] that I really love watching named Shinsuke Nakamura. He’s awesome and really fun to watch. But in terms of the WWE, in ring, I love watching Cesaro.”
From a recent interview Daniel Bryan had with Sports Illustrated: http://www.si.com/more-sports/2015/07/27/daniel-bryan-concussions-wwe-future?page=3&devicetype=default

I was watching NFL Network tonight and a fan tweeted to former Vikings receiver Nate Burleson: "What's the nastiest thing you've ever seen at training camp?" To which Nate brought up a story from a joint practice that the Minnesota Vikings held with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004 (the year Brock tried out for the team):

"You remember Brock Lesnar of WWE? He came out and somebody cheap-shotted [quarterback] Daunte Culpepper's leg, and Brock was like "WHO DID IT?". The next play he went and suplexed the guy...he picked up a grown man after the play, and then it was the Royal Rumble: Minnesota vs. Kansas City.. that was a nasty suplex on the football field."
Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/3eu4r7/a_funny_anecdote_about_brock_lesnar_from_former/

"I think there’s only one answer for me right now, and it is Brock Lesnar. I think a lot of people want to see it. I was there the night he made his debut on Raw for WWE," Owens continued. "I was in the crowd, like the fifth row. I remember being blown away immediately by this guy, I was on board right away. I bought Brock Lesnar T-shirts and Brock Lesnar hats. My parents got a dog that summer, I named him Brock. Seriously, he was a blonde Lab, he was huge: ‘That’s Brock!’ I used to do the F5 when I was on the indies because of how much I admire him so I’d love to be the one to put an end to him."
Part of a recent interview Owens had with talkSPORT's Gorilla Position podcast on who he'd want to face soon for a match and/or feud if given the chance.

Ring of Honor announced Tuesday that Roderick Strong, aka Mr. ROH, has re-signed with the company. The "Triple Crown Champion" was most recently featured as a challenger for the Ring of Honor World Championship against Jay Lethal at Death Before Dishonor XIII in Baltimore. The spectacular match ended in a draw as the wrestlers battled through the 60-minutes of regulation time allotted for World Championship matches.

AAA, the world's leading Lucha Libre organization announced today that Matt Striker and Hugo Savinovich will be calling Triplemanía XXIII live on pay-per-view from Mexico City on Sunday August 9th with a special start time of 7pm ET / 4pm PT. "Along with our established AAA announcer, Hugo, Matt allows us to provide unparalleled coverage for this very special event. Their insights from years in the ring and broadcasting will enhance Triplemanía for our English speaking fans," said AAA EVP Dorian Roldan Peña. "Hugo is rich in experience and insight while Matt is a tremendous analyst. We are excited to have them join the pay-per-view production," said Court Bauer, Executive Producer for Triplemanía XIII.

WWE had security confiscating Hulk Hogan fan signs at tonight's RAW in Oklahoma City. They were also making fans with Hogan t-shirts change them. We also received two reports of security asking fans to stop streaming with the Periscope app.

We noted last week that the Hulk Hogan scandal has caused WWE Studios' to remove a Hogan scene from the Celebrity Death Pool movie that stars David Hasselhoff and Ken Jeong. PWInsider reports that a piece of Hogan material was also in the upcoming WWE - Scooby Doo animated movie. Hogan was set to appear in scenes alongside an animated Dusty Rhodes and those will obviously have to be edited now. Hopefully they can just replace Hogan and not have to nix the Dusty scene altogether. Regarding the Hogan scene in Celebrity Death Pool, apparently it was the opening sequence of the movie so it will definitely have to be re-done.

It looks like WWE may be using actor Stephen Amell of "Arrow" at next month's SummerSlam pay-per-view in Brooklyn. Amell is booked to appear at the Wizard World convention in Chicago during SummerSlam weekend but the signing for SummerSlam Sunday has been canceled. Amell will now only be appearing on Saturday. We noted how Amell will likely be appearing at an upcoming WWE event, possibly the August 10th RAW from Everett, Washington. Speculation is that Amell and Neville may take on Stardust and The Miz in some sort of match.

Alicia Fox sustained a mild concussion during her tag team match on Raw, WWE.com can confirm.

I'm suddenly reminded of four years ago when the WWE were complaining about the officials at the polling stations that were asking the people that showed up to vote, to change the WWE T-shirts they were wearing.

Does anyone here want to buy Kane's house?

It'll only cost you $800,000.

Chokeslam! WWE’s Kane Tells Us Why He’s Selling His Tennessee Estate

http://rdcnewscdn.realtor.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Kane.jpg

What kind of home would a WWE superstar build? Well in the case of Kane, it’s a charming three-bedroom contemporary in the hills of Jefferson City, TN.

Born Glenn Jacobs, the popular heel had the home custom-built in 2005 for his family. The immense grappler is parting with his beloved 78-acre estate for $800,000, although he wishes he didn’t have to put it down for the three-count.

“Every time I go there I’m, like, ‘Man, I don’t want to sell this place,’” Jacobs says. “It’s so nice and private.”

The 6,924-square-foot home sits on a hill at the end of a quarter-mile-long driveway that climbs about 250 feet to the hilltop, Jacobs estimates. The home, which features a koi pond and swimming pool, is surrounded by private woods with trails for biking, four-wheeling, and horseback riding.

http://www.realtor.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Kane-aerial.jpg
The house comes with 78 acres

The Devil’s Favorite Demon has earthbound roots in these hills. Jacobs says he first came to Tennessee about 20 years ago while wrestling in Knoxville. During that time he met and married his wife, Crystal, a Tennessee native, and the couple began their life together in Johnson City.

The house is spacious—not a surprise given the wrestler’s (possibly 7-foot) stature. However, Jacobs says the countertops and door frames weren’t raised to accommodate him, so it’s a turnkey operation for the eventual buyer.

http://www.realtor.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Kane-Kitchen.jpg
Cooking with Kane

The master suite features a massive bathroom with dual vanity sinks and custom wood cabinetry. There’s also a huge garden tub in a windowed tower overlooking the hills. You can soothe your bones in style after being on the receiving end of a piledriver.

http://www.realtor.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Kane-tub.jpg
The huge garden tub with sky-high views

The downstairs is where the current WWE director of operations truly asserts his authority. The finished basement features a game room where Jacobs has a poker table, foosball table, pool table, and wet bar to help him relax when he’s not engaged in local community events, attending to family duties, or defending current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

http://www.realtor.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Kane-Basement.jpg
The “Kane Cave”

Defending Rollins isn’t easy—on “WWE Raw,” Jacobs recently suffered a foot injury at the hands of Brock Lesnar, so he’ll have some welcome time off—a luxury many pro wrestlers don’t enjoy.

http://www.realtor.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Kane-living-area.jpg
The living area

When not in the ring, Jacobs must keep in shape to ensure his chokeslams stay lethal. So the former title belt holder built a detached 2,400-square-foot garage that doubles as a full-blown gym. Back in the day, Jacobs, 47, could bench press 525 pounds, although he says he’s now less focused on “lifting heavy.”

As with most things in real estate, the gym equipment is “negotiable” in the sale. Jacobs says he’ll miss the gym for his early morning workouts.

http://www.realtor.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Kane-gym.jpg
The gym—equipment is negotiable

“I work out five to six times a week,” Jacobs says. “When the sun comes up on the left-hand side, the hills are backlit purple—it’s gorgeous.” During the winter, Jacobs says you can see the twinkling lights of ski resorts an hour away in Gatlinburg.

So why does fearsome Kane want to leave his beloved stomping ground? He and his wife own an Allstate insurance agency in Knoxville (yes—Kane also sells insurance), and the hourlong commute over the past few years has been a headache, so they’re relocating.

“If circumstances were different, we’d stay here for the rest of our lives,” Jacobs says. “But you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men.”

Of course we do. And even if we didn’t, we wouldn’t argue with him. So, if you want to live like a WWE superstar, give listing agent Holli McCray a call.

WWE CONSIDERING MAKING PPV EVENTS AVAILABLE FOR $4.99

WWE sent a survey to ex-subscribers to the WWE Network. One of the questions asked the ex-subscribers would be interested in an option to buy a PPV on the WWE Network for $4.99 instead of paying for the entire monthly subscription.

Fred Durst revealed on Chicago radio why his band Limp Bizkit turned down WWE's offer to perform at WrestleMania 32 next year:

"I got kicked out of one of their events last year I think it was, maybe the year before that, all for throwing up a f***ing birdie at the camera. I just find the whole corp aspect of it to be f***in pussiefied these days; it's obvious why they sank so low in popularity compared to the late 90's and early 00's. They wanted us to do WM32 next year but f*** that. We want to do NJPW. We'd love to head over to Japan. We're still wrestling fans. Not WWE fans."

Pennsylvania Grand Jury Decision Imminent in 1983 Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka Homicide Investigation

A final disposition is expected this week in the 18-month-old reexamination by the Lehigh County (Pennsylvania) Seventh Investigating Grand Jury of the 32-year-old mysterious death of Nancy Argentino in the hotel room of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka.

Following 30th anniversary coverage of the controversial 1983 episode by the Allentown Morning Call — in turn was spurred by Concussion Inc.’s coverage, including in a chapter of my 2007 book Wrestling Babylon — county district attorney James Martin referred the dormant homicide file to the grand jury. Martin has told Nancy Argentino’s surviving family members that he will inform them of the grand jury’s decision by the expiration of its term (now set for the end of July after the court last year granted a six-month extension).

The Argentino sisters’ ebook through Concussion Inc., JUSTICE DENIED: The Untold Story of Nancy Argentino’s Death in Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka’s Hotel Room, has benefited charities associated with Nancy’s memory. The family now donates 100 percent of the ebook proceeds to Salerno, Italy, church Centro Evangelical dei Fratelli, which is developing a shelter for battered women,, among many other programs under its “Project Avalanche” umbrella.

In general, an independent contractor or freelancer is a worker who runs their own business but is hired by others for specific purposes and projects. But a growing number of employers have been using the independent contractor label on what had long been considered employees, often with the goal of shedding the cost of contributing to insurance and retirement benefits. A new piece of legislation seeks to make sure that businesses aren’t mislabeling employees as contractors.

he Payroll Fraud Prevention Act of 2015 [PDF], introduced by Sen. Robert Casey of Pennsylvania and Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota, would amend the Fair Labor Standards Act to require that workers understand whether they are being classified as an employee or a non-employee contractor, and what the implications are for non-employees in terms of benefits, and legal protections generally afforded to employees.
New bill under consideration from Congress that would have a huge effect in the WWE if it gets passed. WWE would no longer be able to get away with the independent contractor excuse they do with their roster or have sole power over a contract.

Yeah. Nothing necessarily WRONG with her face, per se, she just has the same goofy grin as her brothers who portray Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt in WWE.

WWE reportedly had plans at one point for Brock Lesnar to be a gay character in their storylines.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE was considering the idea of debuting a gay character in 2002 that would be a tough guy who outs himself as being guy, but would do none of the stereotypes and would be portrayed as a kick-ass main eventer. The idea was for the person to be Lesnar when he made his debut that year.

Originally, the idea came from two of WWE's magazine writers, one of whom was Brian Solomon. Solomon pitched the idea directly to Stephanie McMahon that year, with the pitch being that it would blow fans away to see an unstoppable hyper-masculine bad ass revealing himself to be gay, and be pushed as a top babyface. WWE felt that they would get huge support from the gay community, as well as positive support from the media for having a "progressive character."

The people who originally pitched the idea never heard another word about it and didn't know until recently that the idea actually made it to the writers room. The idea ended up being shot down by older agents in the company who thought it was a terrible idea, and it ended up leading to the Billy and Chuck thing.

Former WWE creative member Seth Mates spoke out on the situation, saying that anyone in the company could pitch ideas and were welcome to do so. He noted that such a pitch was made, but it wasn't necessarily on the table to happen.

Mates also said that some of the details from the Observer report, such as Solomon's name, as well as when it was done weren't correct.
While he stated anyone could pitch ideas, he did confirm Gay Lesnar was an idea being pitched.

WWE has apparently shifted direction in terms of Lana being the female superstar of the company. Moving forward she will now just being another character on the show. The new idea is to find a Latin female star for the company, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

WWE is seeking sex appeal and Spanish speaking skills for someone who can be the front and center to expanding the Latin audience. The company has started to seek out Latin female weather reporters in Mexico who are chosen for looks. Melissa Santos, who is under contract with Lucha Underground, is ideal for someone who they are looking to put in this position. If Lucha Underground doesn't have a second season, she would be available for this role.

The situation regarding MVP is that TNA actually fired him over the Hernandez situation. Although we had heard he was thinking of leaving before he was fired, the decision was definitely made by TNA. He took the heat internally since it was his idea to bring Hernandez in. Shouldn’t it be the lawyers who are there to figure out if a guy has a release and if TNA can legally sign him, not the talent or somebody coming up with the creative?

Last night’s Impact and ROH airings had good news for Destination America. Impact scored 343,000 viewers and a 0.11 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic, up 8% and 22% from last week’s 317,000 and 0.09 demo rating. The numbers were the highest for Impact since the June 24th episode brought in 369,000 and a 0.12 demo rating. The midnight replay garnered 64,000 viewers and a 0.02 rating, down 10% and even with last week’s 71,000 and 0.02.

As for Ring of Honor, in its new single airing at 11 PM the show brought in 171,000 viewers and a 0.04 demo rating. These numbers are up 36% and double from last week’s 126,000 viewers and 0.02 in the same time slot. They’re also significantly up from the 139,000 and 0.02 demo rating from the 8 PM timeslot last week, although this isn’t a good comparison since obviously last week had two time period options to watch. The fact that the demo rating was equal to both of last week’s airings combined is certainly a good sign though.

We know by now that Destination America is set to remove TNA Wrestling from it’s line-up by September. However, there are rumors that the network could remove the show by the end of the year. Now, it looks like Ring of Honor is also in danger of seeing the boot from Destination America at the end of the year as well, despite the numbers being respectable for them at their stage.

According to Cageside Seats, Destination America plans to remove both promotions by the end of the year because they want to move away from pro-wrestling.

This is clearly a big blow to both promotions, one of which has only had a small amount of time to really prove anything to the network. It does make sense, however, as they were hoping to see much higher numbers than what they are getting. However, this was expected by many pro-wrestling purists, as neither TNA nor ROH were capable of bringing in the kind of fans that a WWE is able to do on a normal basis.

Brock Lesnar has been announced for the October 3rd WWE live event from Madison Square Garden in New York City. No word yet on who he will be facing, but Paul Heyman will also be there.

This will be Lesnar's first domestic WWE live event since returning to the company in 2012.

The following was also announced for the show:
* John Cena vs. Seth Rollins
* Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev
* Sheamus vs. Randy Orton
* Appearances by Chris Jericho and the WWE Divas

Rest of the sheets is from WWE's investor's meeting they had today:
According to WWE's earnings report filed this morning, they have 1.156 million paid WWE Network subscribers as of June 30th, 2015. This is down from the 1.327 million they announced the day after WrestleMania 31. WWE noted that from launch through June 30th, the Network has attracted more than 2 million unique subscribers with approximately 61% of those still active ...

WWE would not release info or answer questions regarding subscribers who had signed up for free months during the period and the retention rate, but the end of the quarter numbers show that, as expected, the people taking advantage of free subs are way down since it became a regular thing.

Still under a million subs for the US and under 300,000 for rest of the world. Current goal is to reach 1.2 million as a stable number by the end of the year. They need a stable 1.3-1.4 million in order to be profitable with the Network.

For the remainder of 2015, the Company expects to add approximately 180 hours of original content to the network’s featured programming. Exciting original programming coming to the network includes a reality series following the stars of NXT as they strive to make WWE’s main roster, a new series Table for 3 that gives viewers a seat at the table with our Superstars and Divas, a studio show highlighting current events in the world of WWE and beyond, and new episodes of WWE 24, The WWE List, and Stone Cold Podcast, as well as teasers of Camp WWE, an animated adult series premiering in 2016. In addition, the Company plans to expand WWE Network’s robust video-on-demand library, which currently has more than 3,300 hours of content. Themed programming collections to be added to this library include The Raw Attitude Era Part 2: Austin/McMahon, WCW Nitro: Accelerating the War, and The 20th Anniversary of Monday Nitro.

The WWE network, besides doing overseas live specials like they did from Tokyo, is looking into doing a live show on the beach, similar to the first WCW Bash at the Beach on Huntington Beach about 20 years ago.

They noted that the new shows like Too Hot for TV, Swerved and The Stone Cold Podcast were among the most watched shows on the network, not mentioning the Jericho shows. They also said Beast from the Beast, a live show from Tokyo, ws viewed more than any show to date on the network with the exception of the PPV events, beating out the Austin interview with Vince McMahon which had been No. 1 ...

Swerved is CANCELLED, reportedly due to talent complaints.

How is that house only 800,000? Looking at pics I would have guessed 1,500,00 at least. Must be haunted by Katie Vick.

Tennessee is insanely affordable. The house I bought last year would have been triple what I paid if I was still in Florida.

Had this idea a couple months ago but I don't think I ever mentioned it.

King Barrett should start a thing where he sits on his throne in the middle of the ring, has scantily clad women feed him grapes and makes two random jobbers have a match around him for his entertainment. When he gets bored or if they bump into him, he gets up and bullhammers the shit out of them.

Eventually, a guy from NXT or something could stand up to him and start a feud. Or maybe some new guy just destroys the other guy and impresses Barrett so much that he takes him on as an ally.

WWE needs to bring in a new diva and have her be a female Brock Lesnar. I think that's how you really bring the divas division alive. Give her a backstory of being a woman who "fought on the streets". You bring her in and have her crush. Bring in some divas just to job to her and have them not even get any offense in. Then you have her start crushing some divas like Alicia Fox and then move on to destroy everyone in her path.

While it seems like it would just bury the rest of the division, no one stands out now anyway. Once you build her up as a fucking beast, anyone who even gives her a challenge gets a little more over from it. She becomes the one all other divas are measured by and she makes them all better even as she continues to be unstoppable.

#1-norm-fan
08-02-2015, 12:12 AM
She could even squash Nikki Bella for the divas title, putting her out of action in the process. Then you have a 3 month build where Brie Bella is out for revenge and Daniel Bryan is training her how to fight to conquer the she-beast.

Basically, I think the key to building the divas division is building up one MASSIVELY credible diva and then using her to bring all the others up to her level.

They've basically pretended he didn't exist for like 8 years. Going from that to not only acknowledging him but saying "some shit happened" instead of "He won the title at WM 20... let's move on" is weird. Legitimate sports don't shy away when someone who was a big deal in them do something horrific. WWE's strategy is generally "Let's avoid the elephant in the room at all costs".

Reading all those tweets aimed at White, it's kinda ridiculous.

I can understand wrestlers getting all defensive and stuff (I've been wrestling for 12 years myself), but if I read someone tweet about it being fake... I dunno, it's completely irrelevant to me.

For some reason, this reminds me of the first ECW show I had ever caught onTV. The venue was so small, the ceiling tiles above the ring were taken out, and when Sandman (don't remember who he was facing) went to the top rope, his head/shoulders was where the tiles would have been.

I'm hoping that during the rumored 3 vs. 3 vs. 3 match at SummerSlam, a cackle is heard over the PA, and Kharma makes her way out and starts hitting power moves on all the girls. Ronda Rousey, who is sitting at ringside, has a face-to-face confrontation with Kharma in the ring. Stephanie McMahon comes out with police before anything can go down and requests they escort this woman from her ring. On RAW, Paul Heyman announces that he was the man behind the re-signing of Kharma, and that he dares any woman in the WWE to get in the ring with her. Beth Phoenix's music hits and The Glamazon makes a return to challenge Kharma at a live special in September. Kharma wins that, then goes on to beat Natalya at Hell in a Cell. Etc.

Exactly. For as many people bitching about how boring Paquiao/Mayweather was (myself included), that was how boxing actually works. We want to see how boxing works in movies. If Rousey were still undefeated, but going on for 2-3 round bouts and eventually tapping bitches out or going to decision, she would still be a devistatingly brutal and dominant fighter, it wouldn't be nearly as exciting as these lightning bouts against women who are clearly outclassed and looking to make a name for herself by being "that one".

... only enhanced by the fact that it is established that they can go in the ring. You could have the same angle with two attraction level guys that will get all the hype, but the actual match itself will shit the bed because you just have two stiff monsters (stiff as in Khali's movements, not stiff as in "live round" strikes) that historically , more often than not, ends up making the battle itself anticlimactic. There is no danger of that with Mr. Wrestling vs Most Money Making Man.

Ryan "Ryback" Reeves, who has been out of action since a staph infection suffered three weeks ago, posted a photo on Instagram this morning showing that his bad right leg is still badly swollen.

He wrote about the photo saying, "And this is the best it has looked and felt. Wouldn't wish this upon anyone, but it will be overcome. Staying upbeat and positive even in frustration."

WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka reveals he is battling stomach cancer, and recently underwent surgery to have the cancer removed.

The cancer involved Snuka having part of his stomach and lymph nodes removed, and although doctors told him the surgery was a complete success, he does have a long way to go.

Hogan footage was not removed from the WWE Network, nor were there any plans to do so, past the removal of the 1980s animated “Hulk Hogan’s Rock N Wrestling” shows and some home video material was also removed.

In promoting his newly released autobiography (which is very high on the honesty level, compared to most pro wrestler books), Bryan Danielson admitted publicly for the first time that his time off is not related to his neck, but is a concussion issue.

While we had heard that from the start, for whatever reason, WWE had wanted it kept quiet. They originally denied that Danielson was suffering from concussion related symptoms, and were vague about his return. While Danielson has vowed that he will wrestle again, those in the company have no plans in place for a return.
Think Observer or F4W teased Bryan might try to buy out his contract as an option if the WWE tries to pull a "Rey Mysterio" with him. In Rey's case, they refused to grant his release and kept adding more time to his contract with the excuse of him being injured a lot so he couldn't leave early for AAA.

On Friday’s [PWG] show, among those in attendance were William Regal and Canyon Ceman, scouting for WWE, current WWE champion Seth Rollins and AAA co-booker Konnan. Steen himself would have been there, but for once, the show ended at 11:30 p.m., which is actually early for the group that often runs shows until nearly 1 a.m. So he wasn’t going to make it there it in time after main eventing a house show in Bakersfield that night. Reports were that the WWE officials were most impressed with Angelico, a AAA star who teamed with Jack Evans in the main event against the local stars of the group, The Young Bucks. Angelico has a multi-year contract with Lucha Underground, but that is only germane if Lucha Underground continues. We’re not certain what type of deal he is under with AAA.

Still no updates on anything [regarding Lucha Underground]. I’m told the deal with Televisa isn’t dead, and that would in theory be enough revenue to save the company, but time is running low. They have a deal on the table for a second season on El Rey, but would need to raise the necessary money for that season but it doesn’t financially make sense to spend the kind of money they’ve been spending with nothing coming in and not enough exposure to monetize the show in traditional ways. The company had gone with this idea that they weren’t looking at revenue streams, but at creating a licensing empire out of the unique characters on the show which could even lead to movies with those characters like a sci-fi franchise. But that’s not happening with the audience numbers they are drawing.

After less than two months, [ROH] lost its prime time slot of Destination America, as starting on 7/29, the show will only air at 11 p.m., between two airings of TNA Impact. Evidently, even as programming that DA isn’t paying for, they must not feel they are getting enough ad revenue for a prime 8 p.m. show. They don’t have a replacement as the next few weeks have different shows. Hunter Johnston told the talent at the tapings in Baltimore about it ahead of time, but said it was nothing to worry about, saying as far as he knows they are only being aired at 11 p.m. only for the next few weeks, although it could be permanent. There were people from Destination America at the tapings and they told him they were trying out a non-wrestling show for a few weeks, that nothing is changing, that Destination America likes them and had people at the tapings.

Regarding the concussion lawsuits, Judge Vanessa Bryant in Connecticut has consolidated the cases, which basically means that the lawsuits filed by Vito Lograsso, Evan Singleton, Ryan Sakoda, Matt Wiese and Russ McCullough are now all one. Additionally, the WWE lawsuits filed against Robert Windham (Blackjack Mulligan), Oreal Perras (Ivan Koloff), Thomas Billington (Dynamite Kid) and James Ware (Koko B. Ware) have also been consolidated into one suit.

Cena and Fox were both injured on Raw. Cena took a hard knee right to the nose in his main event match with Rollins. The knee knocked Cena silly and the doctor came out and talked with him, but Cena continued the match and ended the night with a crooked and partially displaced nose. He was taken to the hospital to see an ear, nose and throat specialist in Dallas but at press time no further word had been released. There are two forces at work here. The first is the mentality that SummerSlam is coming and guys like Cena in that position work through these things. The other is that Cena’s face is a big part of his marketability, both as a wrestling hero to kids and in his recent movie work. While having a crooked nose is fine for a guy like Barrett, it’s not so fine for Cena.
Small update to Cena's injury and why he's been pulled for a few shows. Turns out its not to recover from his injuries but the WWE doesn't want to market Cena at all if he looks different than usual. Same why they never bothered to show any images of Cena's role in the Trainwreck movie since it goes against his WWE image.

Monday's WWE Raw television show averaged 3.701 million viewers, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. Viewership was up from the 3.671 million average from last week.

The first hour of Raw averaged 3.739 million viewers. Hour two drew 3.695 million viewers. The final hour of the show averaged 3.671 million viewers.

There have been a lot of rumors lately about WWE meeting with executives at Destination America, which currently airs Ring of Honor and TNA programming.

One WWE source noted to us that details weren't available but it was believed WWE met with Destination America to shop their Superstars and Main Event programs. WWE has apparently been trying to shop those two shows to whichever network will buy them in the United States.

For now, WWE meeting with Destination America should be taken as a rumor but it definitely is making the rounds within the industry. Another source noted to us that they heard WWE floated the idea of airing NXT to Destination America but that's also not confirmed and we're not sure how far any talks went. We will keep you updated on any information that become available.
Was quickly debunked by PWI.

One of the hotter rumors making the rounds online today is a story that WWE is negotiating to bring some of their TV properties to Destination America.

The story is false.

WWE's contract with NBC Universal gives Universal the exclusive right to all WWE TV properties on cable television. Destination America is owned by Discovery Communications and is not part of the Comcast/NBC/Universal family.

For those who asked, there is nothing to the story.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper's funeral is scheduled for next week in Oregon and the family is inviting all of his fans to take part in a moment of silence to honor the late wrestler.

Piper's daughter Ariel tells TMZ the family is having a private funeral in Oregon on August 11, which will not be open to the public.

But Ariel says at 10:30 AM the day of the funeral, they're asking Piper's millions of fans to observe a moment of silence ... which they'll observe at the service as well.
A memorial will be held in L.A. August 17 at the Comedy Store in Hollywood, but that service will be private as well.

As reported earlier here at WrestlingDVDNetwork.com, this year WWE plans to follow up on the 2012 released Undertaker DVD with an all-new box set commemorating his WrestleMania winning streak now that it has been broken, with: “Undertaker: The Streak 21-1″.

A limited edition version will be available in a coffin shaped box set, as pictured below. That will contain the new 5 disc DVD release and an exclusive Topps trading card of Undertaker.

Early indications are that this will be a worldwide offering, scheduled for release to the United Kingdom and the United States this November, following on to Australia this December.

The UK release date has been confirmed so far, which will be November 23rd. Fans in the UK can already pre-order the special box set for £56.76 with free shipping

Jericho asked why Vince called him Zeke and Woods laughed and said he nad no idea and nobody else did. Jericho asked if Vince thought he was Ezekial Jackson and New Day laughed again and Woods said he is, in fact, Ezekial Jackson but he lost a lot of weight. It was all laughs. Nothing serious
From this week's Chris Jericho podcast episode with Xavier Woods as his guest.

There's no options for me right now. None of the bigger promotions want me. Not ROH or TNA or Lucha Underground or WWE. How long until it just becomes masturbatory to keep wrestling? It's time to grow up. I don't want to be the sad old dude who has nothing else.

The sister of the DA in Murphy TX sued NBC because her brother, the DA, was caught by To Catch A Predator and Perverted Justice and killed himself in his home. Per the settlement, the show was taken off the air, and therefore, couldn't have been a joint investigation with the police.

As noted, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE was considering re-naming the stable of Paige, Becky Lynch and Charlotte to ""The Submission Sisters" after learning that the name "Submission Sorority" is linked to an adult website. TMZ reports that the term is used for a porn series produced by BangBros called HazeHer. A traffic analyst from BangBros noted that their website traffic surged 56% overnight, and that they have had a 35% increase in subscriptions. The company apparently plans to send Vince McMahon a "thank you" gift basket.

We noted a while back that WWE had big plans for Lana as the top Diva in the company. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that top WWE officials are ready to give the big Diva push to Eva Marie instead.

There has been talk within WWE of creating a Divas Tag Team Title.
According to the Observer, they are basically going to use a Cena-like "over coming the odds" basis for Eva's mega push.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is expecting John Cena to be able to work the Summerslam PPV. At this time, the Cena vs. Rollins program is scheduled to be a long term program, and is booked as the main event at most of the key house shows in September. The company will be marketing some “anti-Cena” shirts for Rollins. Two of the shirts will be “Never Shut Up” and “You Can’t See Knee”.

The WWE production trucks recently had the WrestleMania 32 graphics added to them. The pay-per-view airing on the WWE Network is pushed on the graphics and The Rock is said to be the most prominent Superstar featured. Nikki Bella is also prominently shown.

Although, in a way, I'm not surprised. They always seem to come up with "Porn sounding names" when it comes to things related to the Diva's these days.

Just look at the NXT Diva's, in my opinion, the majority of them all have pornstar sounding names.

If they're looking for a "Top Diva", then why not Alicia Fox or Natalya?

Still, it will be funny seeing Eva Marie's rise to the top, while most people will probably complain about her. She'll be the Diva's division's answer to John "Superman" Cena, as he was sometimes known as, between 2005 to 2011.

Only problem with Eva getting the mega push is that it sort of goes against the narrative of the Divas Revolution. The Divas are currently rebelling against the status quo of the Bellas and Total Divas while Eva represents the same stuff that's being rebelled against.

All that's changing is instead of the Bellas ruling the division, its now Eva and Total Divas still stays on top as the main influence. Revolution wouldn't have solved anything besides more time for women's matches which wasn't the main purpose of #GiveDivasAChance.

The National Enquirer has a new article saying Hulk Hogan has been accused of lying under oath.

Their report notes that court transcripts reveal Hogan allegedly made conflicting statements to the FBI and to lawyers for the Gawker website, who Hogan has the $100 million lawsuit against. During a hearing on July 2nd, Gawker attorney Seth Berlin told the judge that he had learned Hogan made statements under oath during a talk with the FBI and during a deposition that are "directly at odds with another." Berlin wrote:

"So we have a situation... where the key participant, the plaintiff, is telling us one thing under oath and telling the FBI something else."

Legal experts told The Enquirer, who recently revealed the racist comments made by Hogan in 2008, that if the accusation is true, Hogan would be guilty of either perjury or obstruction of justice, depending on if he lied to the Gawker lawyers or the FBI. Those charges could potentially carry jail time, as defense attorney Anthony Brooklier told The Enquirer:

"That's how Martha Stewart got nailed. It wasn't insider trading that put her in jail. It was the lie she told to the cops."

Konnan can't speak highly enough of Roldan's progress over the years. "He's an an incredibly quick study. I'll give you example: Dixie Carter, who didn't grow up in the business like Dorian, she still doesn't know what the fuck she's doing. And she's been there...what, 13 years? You just have to live it every day. You can't just be showing up to certain TVs and not the others You have to be passionate and live it 24/7, y'know? And he does. He just became immersed into it. He learned. He studied. He asked. And he just wanted to be that best at what he's doing. He just learned as much as he could a lot by trial and error, but he's a visionary. And he's like 30-31 years old, so he's gonna be incredible in another five or ten years. He's already a sharp businessman."
From a recent interview Konnan had with The News Hub: https://www.the-newshub.com/other-sport/lucha-undergrounds-konnan-discusses-his-time-with-the-us-navy-working-with-kevin-sullivan-and-his-experience-with-lucha-underground

I hope this helps...I have this one already typed... this is obviously why they asked me to be here, so I’ll answer it very honestly and then you all can go back to work. Let’s break it down into parts - “If” and “when” and “where”. There is very little doubt in my mind about the “if”. I’d say its a 99.9% chance that a second season is happening. LU is a partnership, and each of the partners are committed to making season 2 happen. The “To be continued…” at the end of UltimaLucha was not just us trolling you, it was more of a promise.

The issues about money and production costs are indeed real, although vastly overstated. We didn’t spend $20 Million - not even close. El Rey is the one of the best networks I’ve ever worked with, but what they have to spend doesn’t quite cover the costs of a show like Lucha Underground. So our choices are to either 1. Raise the money from another source, or 2. Make the show cheaper.
We are currently looking for a second broadcasting partner - either a streaming service, or even an additional broadcast network. We are also aggressively going after foreign sales, sponsorships, and integration partners. Those deals take time to secure, and that is why there has been a delay in announcing an official pick-up. The “when” of this is what’s up in the air. Of course we’d like to be back on the air in October, but realistically that date is likely to push. I’d put January of 2016 as the latest date of our return.

The “where” is also being debated and is part of option 2. LA is expensive. As much as we all want to stay in Boyle Heights, we may need to investigate a different location for season 2. There are other locations with tax incentives or where resources are cheaper. Of course story-wise we can make anything work. We all saw Dario leave the temple and where he ends up is anyone’s guess.
Lucha Underground's executive director on the plans and hopes for Season 2 of the show.

They are looking at producing a test all-women's show sometime very soon. The idea is to be like some of the indie groups that have booked arenas and done afternoon women's shows taped for DVD prior to the evening men's shows (that also include women's matches). The situation will be similar, doing a test run show called Women of Honor on an afternoon before a women's show. Right now there are no plans on including this as part of the television package. They are looking at bringing in women from Japan for the first show after the great crowd reaction to Nanae Takahashi's match with ODB in Las Vegas and a dark match with Mandy Leon vs. Deonna Purrzo turned out well on the 7/25 show in Baltimore.
ROH planning their own focus on women's wrestling as part of them fighting back against the WWE.

The other big strong point for the company is the WWE 2K 15 video game. The video game increased $6.2 million in company revenue from the previous year model, which was a 40 percent increase in sales. It was expected to handily beat last year's numbers due to an increase in consoles the game was released on, but it still exceeded expectations.
From WWE's recent investor's meeting late last week.

Some other sheet news includes:

NJPW unlikely to do future G1 tournaments using this year's format due to lower than expected attendance for the tournament so far according to the Observer. The plan was to stretch out the tournament for more dates as a way to let wrestlers have more rest and make extra money but neither have occurred as planned.
Paramount Pictures announced they are collaborating with AAA for this year's TripleMania event. Rumored to include a tie in for Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation similar in idea to what was done with Mania and Terminator Genisys.
BBC had a report dealing with wrestlers and the issue of why too many end up dying young. WWE's response to the report was basically them deflecting any blame on their part for that problem. "Some past performers were part of a generation who made unhealthy and poor personal lifestyle choices". http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-33817959

Booking a WWE TEW game. Planning on having a new "real wrestlers" stable debut at SummerSlam and beat the shit out of Cena with the reason being that the Cena era ruined their careers as WWE shunned them in favor of "pretty boy entertainer" types. Samoa Joe is gonna be the leader of the stable and build to a 1-on-1 match at WrestleMania. Don't know who else would fit in a stable like that though. Don't wanna put Owens back into anything with Cena. Was thinking Jack Swagger since he's doing shit and could fit the profile of a forgotten "real wrestler" in the Cena era. Who else?

I've just stumbled across this on the BBC's website.

Why do wrestlers so often die young?

http://ichef-1.bbci.co.uk/news/660/cpsprodpb/15A81/production/_84750788_piper_jericho2_getty.jpg
Rowdy Roddy Piper (right) in action with Chris Jericho (centre) in 2009

Mr Perfect, The Ultimate Warrior and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper may sound like names from a comic book, but the cognoscenti will recognise them as former superstars of the world of professional wrestling. All of them also died unexpectedly and at a relatively young age.

Mr Perfect died in 2003 of acute cocaine intoxication at the age of 44. The Ultimate Warrior died last year of a heart attack, aged 54. Most recent to go was "Rowdy" Roddy Piper who died suddenly on 31 July of a heart attack. He was 61.

So do former wrestlers die younger than athletes who take part in other sports?

"Yes the statistical evidence is quite strong when we look at the mortality rate for wrestlers compared to other sports and the general population," says John Moriarty of Manchester University.

Researchers like Moriarty face some difficulties getting hold of data, as no official body collects statistics about the deaths of those who have spent a career in the ring.

His approach has been to aggregate the findings of others who have studied the problem.

He points to research by academics at the University of Eastern Michigan who studied a group of 557 former wrestlers.

Of the 62 wrestlers in this group who died between 1985 and 2011, 49 died before the age of 50. Furthermore, 24 of the 49 died before the age of 40, and two even died before the age of 30.

Mortality rates for wrestlers aged between 45 and 54 were 2.9 times greater than the rate for men in the wider US population, the study found.

Cardiovascular disease was the most common cause of death.

But how does this compare with other American sports?

In 2014 Benjamin Morris investigated this for the statistical blog FiveThirtyEight, looking at a group of wrestlers whose careers had ended in 1998 or earlier.

He found that 20% of those who in 2010 would have been aged between 50 and 55 had died, compared with just 4% of former American footballers of a similar age.

http://ichef-1.bbci.co.uk/news/624/cpsprodpb/18191/production/_84750789_piper_hulk_rex976.jpg
Rowdy Roddy Piper prepares to throw Hulk Hogan to the ground

Why might this be?

Both activities involve their competitors exposing themselves to physical harm, and the training regimes for both wrestling and American football are punishing.

But New York-based wrestling journalist Eric Cohen points to two important differences.

"There is no off season in pro-wrestling. American footballers play, what, 16 a games a season? And then get half a year off. Wrestlers can be in the ring five to six times a week," he says.

The other difference concerns the activities outside the ring and off the field.

"Wrestlers who competed in the 1970s and 80s were also living and partying like rock stars," Cohen says. "In the past the business has had a lot of issues with its stars abusing steroids and recreational drugs."

Piper admitted taking steroids and cocaine, and drinking heavily while competing as a wrestler.

The WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.) accepts that the culture of some its former employees contributed to the problems they experienced in later life.

"Some past performers were part of a generation who made unhealthy and poor personal lifestyle choices," a spokesman said, in a statement to the BBC.

"Today's athletes take great pride and personal responsibility for their overall health and wellbeing and in 2006 the WWE introduced the Talent Wellness Programme."

Cohen believes things are broadly are getting better.

"Thankfully we don't have nearly as many wrestlers in their 20s or 30s dying any more," he says.

"But as crazy as this may sound there was an incident in Mexico recently where a wrestler died in the ring."

The hope among wrestling fans is that today's crop of superstars will live longer than their predecessors.

But the deaths of Roddy Piper and others serve as dark reminders of the journey that professional wrestling has been on.

As far as I'm concerned she has just the kind of personality I would look for in a potential GF. As long as she would be someone who's willing to accept me for who I am, I'm good. :)

She can do Sliced Bread No2 (THE Kendrick.) She might not be as awful as we all feared.

I couldn't agree more.

She has the potential to become the next John Cena. If I ever have kids, I would rather have them cheer her over The Bella Twins. Unless they want them to be their mommy. In that case, I am converting. GO BRIE MODE!

What if she wised to worship Satan. You're allowed to do what you want... but all her time not spent wrestling or being with you would be spent worshipping the Lord of the underworld. Would you make your your lady then?

DAMN iNATOR

No, in that instance I would distance myself from her and not be associated with her in any way whatsoever.

She would however be the recipient of many prayers on my behalf to Jesus for her that she might see the error of her ways and turn away from them and towards Him.

Now let's drop this.

Dunno, I suppose if she felt truly remorseful for said rant I would say it's fine, everyone makes mistakes, I would forgive you if I were the target of those comments,

WWE was in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada for a house show last night and during the course of the evening a fan used a replica Money in the Bank briefcase to assault Roman Reigns. According to reports from the show, the fan threw the briefcase in the ring and struck Reigns in the back of the head.

He was able to finish his match with Bray Wyatt but the action was briefly stopped to give him some time to recover.

The fan who threw the briefcase was removed by security and police were called over the incident.

If the guy was gonna pay all that money to sit close enough to throw a fucking briefcase at a wrestler, the least he could've done was make it entertaining and jump the guard rail during a Seth Rollins match while Rollins was down. What a fucking tit he is.
