According to some rumblings online, WWE offered UK-like deals to Viper, Toni Storm, and Kay Lee Ray. Shayna Baszler reportedly signed a regular deal recently.

Leaves just 2 spots left from the rumored final batch of 6 offers from the Mae Young Classic.

Yeah, I guess it's got a bit of Mickey Mouse in there, which might be some sort of allusion to Cornette's anti-gentrification of wrestling stance. Or just a reference to him being like a manic cartoon character. It makes sense, it just seems less "on-point" than his other ones.

I used to mark out for his Sub Zero entrance as a kid as well.

It was cool, but man... people bitch about how long Undertaker's entrance was, and he was main event talent. Glacier had all this pomp & circumstance, then end up counting lights if he were facing someone other than Disqo or "Lightning Foot" Jerry Flynn.

Also, I was more of a La Parka man myself. Even before the "voiceover" gimmick.

Yesh those 3 moments are pretty much it for where WWECW went downhill. Like with WCW, Vince being terrible managing the brand's name drove original ECW fans away in droves for good.

RVD getting busted for drugs while champ shelved whatever the original plans were going to be.

Big Show was actually a pretty great heel champ in WWECW but Vince was moronic for doing the Batista match at the Hammerstein Ballroom and expecting the crowd to react the way he wanted.

Vince forcing Bobby Lashley to be the one to dethrone Big Show at December to Dismember was pretty much the final nail. After that WWECW is pretty much whatever Vince feels like for direction and focus.

I dunno if this post is thread worthy in and of itself, but it could be good for a couple replies, I imagine.

In any event, Vince McMahon allegedly gets behind people who he believes can kick his ass in a fight. And those folks are usually what are defined as "Big Sweaty Men."

This leads me to Zack Sabre Jr. When I first saw him, I thought he looked like a 12 year old Ken Shamrock. Then, during the match I saw, I realized "This dude could tie me in a knot without much effort." From then on, I realized he was awesome.

And then, I had to think about the folks I was a fan of, and they virtually all had one thing in common: They could either whip my ass or they look like they could whip my ass. I am not saying this to sound like some kind of Internet Tough Guy©, but if I see a guy coming to the ring that looks like a chump, I'm gonna be like "meh." The only appeal for someone like that is that, if they're annoying enough (Enzo Amore and Miz), I might enjoy seeing them get the shit beaten out of them.

I think a lot of that comes from being into WWF during the early '90s and liking some of the Bill Watts era of WCW (but not Erik Watts, who ironically didn't look like he could beat a drum, much less a grown man in a fight).

Served the purpose, though. Crowd couldn't chant "you suck" because the cadence was off, and the song itself didn't have the pauses. Added to the previously mentioned "snap and become a badass submission machine" persona he was shifting to.

Of course my reign ends just as we get another lead on the Luger case, now I have to beg for people to help out on this important case. Bruiser Brody somehow had knowledge of Luger's handling of Miss Elizabeth, but Brody knew back in January of 1987! That is why if you go back and see their match you'll obviously see Brody pissed at Luger and started throwing their match. When the match was over Luger asked Brody if it was something he did to upset him and knowing full well that telling Luger of his future would cause a rip in the space-time continuum, so he simply proclaimed..."no", when in reality it tore Brody up, Luger somehow knew that he was being hunted by time traveling wrasslers so he had Brody stabbed in the showers to cover up his knowledge. Hence why we have the Internet now.

Depends on when those plates were ordered since the longer its taken for Jinder to get it, the more it comes off as his decision to be champ and his current reign length was last minute ideas.

Think something like this has happened before where a champ finally got their side plates only to lose it shortly afterwards. Was more common when it was just name plates for belts.

Only real benefit is if Jinder becomes champ again in the future, WWE doesn't need to have a new set of side plates ordered.

Really enjoyed Cody's time away from WWE. That's really no different from Alberto, Galloway, or anyone else that has left WWE recently. They seem to have more freedom which is great and lets them explore what works. Cody found something that he really likes and fits him and he's got the ROH World title stuff along with the Bullet Club stuff and their are alot of options for him going forward. How long before him and Kenny start to really butt heads? It's already being teased and could eventually come down to him and Omega. How big would Omega vs Okada be if the were ROH and IWGP Champions? It's just alot more than he had going for him in WWE and he's enjoying it.

More like only case scenario. Cody's character is a bit naive.

Worst case scenario is Cody being able to touch his elbow with the hand of his same arm. The storyline was Cody wasn't afraid of Suzuki, to which I think the only answer is "... yet."

I heard the match was cut short due to time constraints, which is bullshit. Because if the whole card wasn't planned enough to give the Main Event as much time as they need, as that is theoretically what people PAID TO FUCKING SEE, that's on the promoter. And if another match went longer than it needed to which it cut into the time needed for a proper Main Event, which again the people theoretically PAID TO FUCKING SEE, that is on both the promoter and the talent of that particular match.

Because let's face it: Suzuki doesn't come to the US often. And odds are, he may never wrestle in the US again.

Agree with everything you said. While I haven't seen the match the word on it isn't something I'd expect from a Suzuki match. Thought this match would be Cody's breakout as far as in ring performance goes. He has out side the ring covered but isn't exactly killing it inside the ring but being associated with Kenny Omega doesn't help him any there as he's going to be compared to him.

From this week's Observer Newsletter on Vince's mentality for Reigns-Cena and Strowman-Lesnar matches at No Mercy.

Vince McMahon came in with a very distinct vision for No Mercy, that this show and what would happen in the two key matches were not about now, or the day, but about telling the story of getting to WrestleMania, which is all about Lesnar and Reigns being the two superior guys in the company, and nobody else is on their level. Lesnar is being kept super strong so Reigns beating him means the most. Reigns is put over everyone clean so he’s the strongest challenger possible.

The idea was Cena would hit Reigns with every big move, over-and-over, and he couldn’t beat him, while Reigns would beat Cena with his usual stand-byes, the Superman punch and spear.

Similarly, Lesnar would survive multiple Strowman powerslams, and win clean with one F-5. He also wanted Lesnar vs. Strowman to be kept inside the ring (other than the one spot outside the ring involving the post, but nothing with tables and such), which kind of exposed Strowman, who got over on doing stunts outside the ring. The mentality, whether it’s right or not, was the short-term not so great match (I’m sure he was expecting a far better crowd response for the main event when he had the vision but going in it was going to be a short match with one F-5 as the finish) was the small picture and the big picture was both guys being as strong as possible for Mania.

It's weird how the WWE sometimes books like things don't matter -- there is no rhyme or reason, and if you try to look for logic or some sort of emotional hook you're a nerd who takes things too seriously -- and other times Vince really wants to try and use booking to make a star.

Maybe things like Reigns beating Cena would work a lot better if all the babyfaces weren't being burnt out and made to look like they wouldn't be able to pass Einstein's insanity test on SmackDown?

What are they gonna do when they've put Roman over everybody clean, and he still isn't over? They will have sacrificed Undertaker, Cena, and Lesnar and it will still not give them the desired result.

The only thing they can do at that point is turn him into the biggest heel in the company and probably biggest heel since the McMahon character.

They are sucking the life out of everything.

I try to avoid ranting but I started off skipping shows but never missed PPV, then I decided to only watch PPV, then I wasnt that bothered about missing them. Then I realised wrestling wasn't a thing for me anymore and tried to force myself back in. Finally, after years of "struggle", I cancelled network after Mania, and nowadays I barely even look at results.

It is a sad state of affairs and the empty arenas show that people are tired of it. Instead of being defensive and coming up with excuses, HHH should be worried about what state he inherits the company in.

Gets even worse since Observer stated the original plan prior to Strowman getting hurt was for Lesnar to steamroll over Rollins, Balor, and Strowman with 1-hit F5 moves for wins.

Idea was to make Lesnar go back into Beast/Final Boss status and Reigns getting the Super treatment against Lesnar and the F5 move for Mania.

The sooner Vince the "entrepreneur and genius" (that has only ever had success in wrestling, so much for those 2 tags) steps down the better, woefully out of touch and his ideas more often than not fall flat on their face. Apparently Bray Wyatt's divorce process managed to drag the WWE into it and only because they refused to pay court fees associated with documents requested.

Also claimed to have intimidated Bray's wife in order for her to not find out about Bray's true net worth and having his contract be made public.

Fightful.com and Chris Harrington have an article on Samantha Rotunda, who is filing for divorce from Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt), and has requested all of his pay records from 201 to the present. WWE agreed to produce his 1099's, booking contracts and some licensing contracts but claimed the cost of compliance with the subpoena would be between $247,500 and $483,000. On 9/22, the lawyers for Samantha Rotunda filed a motion in Superior Court in Stamford, CT saying that the WWE was acting in bad faith and attempting to intimidate the litigant from going through discovery and finding out her husband's true financial picture.

The concussion/CTE lawsuits against the WWE could be over as early as the first week of November due to the judge for the cases ordered the lawsuits to be amended or else risk them being tossed out.

Judge Vanessa Bryant made a ruling earlier today regarding three different CTE lawsuits against WWE and Vince McMahon, saying the opposition lawyers have 35 days to amend their complaints and that she is requiring the opposing attorneys to submit affidavits from each plaintiff regarding the claims, under penalty of perjury. She said failure to comply will mean in 35 days she will dismiss all three suits.

Been rumored or speculated for months these lawsuits were the main reason why WWE has been very hesitant on the idea of Daniel Bryan making a possible in-ring return before his contract expires.

God bless Jack Swagger. :y:

“Cesaro should be world champ. I’m not afraid to say it, Cesaro is my favorite wrestler. It used to be Kurt Angle, but it’s now Antonio Cesaro. He’s the strongest guy there, he can go with anybody, and he is a guy that a company can invest in.

In addition to being gifted athletically and being the strongest guy in the room, Cesaro is very smart upstairs. He can go in the back and wrestle a match out in his head, then he’ll add his Cesaro-isms in the ring to really make the match special. He knows exactly where to put things and make a match explosive. ‘Sell, sell, sell, then holy sh–, explosion!’ He’s so flexible, and he’s made all his tag team partners better. He made Tyson Kidd better, and he was the driving force for me in the Real Americans tag team. His big swing is gold. He’s very hungry, and coming from the indies, he has a chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove. He uses that as fuel to keep getting better and not get complacent, and he would be the perfect guy to be world champ.”

The rumored Vince McMahon biofilm appears to be slowly moving back into production.

There has been some movement on the planned cinematic biopic on WWE's Vince McMahon, Pandemonium, which is being put together by TriStar and WWE Studios.

The current strategy is to try and attach an "A" level name to the project in order to fast track the project. An offer was made several weeks ago to representatives of Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper with the idea of Cooper starring as McMahon, according to a well placed source familiar with the project. Whether Cooper is receptive to the idea remains to be seen, but PWInsider.com has confirmed the offer was made.

Apparently Randy Orton was against the idea of taking the World title off of Christian just days after Edge's retirement. Him, Edge, and Christian tried to plead with Vince to let the title change happen at a later date and let Christian enjoy being a world champ for a while. Instead Vince wasn't willing to budge and Christian only had 2 days as champ.

Got revealed during the recent episode of Edge & Christian podcast show with Orton as the guest.

As far as the famous 2011 feud Orton had with Christian goes, that was set in stone the night Christian beat Alberto for the title. Vince was going to tell him the situation going forward beforehand, but Edge convinced him to let Christian enjoy the moment first. Christian says Vince reasoned that since Smackdown was starting fresh at the time, he needed them as the top guys to keep the ship afloat until Summerslam. Orton tried to insist that Christian keep the title longer and didn't want to cut his moment off so fast, Christian wanted to make this known since some speculated at the time that politics where involved. In a classic Vince move, they were going to change their minds about Summerslam and crown Mark Henry then instead. Both guys argued against it with Vince and got their way in the end.

Because Rock's doing a movie about her life. Pretty sure that's literally the only reason she's still around.

WWE probably also figured with Paige coming back, it would be easier to keep tabs on her well-being since both them and her family didn't like the amount of time she was spending with El Patron/Del Rio.

WWE's biggest mistake was trying to force her away from Del Rio when the relationship was still relatively new which just ended up making her more committed to Del Rio instead.

Why is Kassius Ohno so fucking fat?

The dude must have some sort of health thing going on. He's clearly healthy, but the dude is just a balloon. It's also weird that the company let him go, then hired him back despite it all.

I really like the dude, for some reason, but I agree that it's not really there. It never was before -- something was just "off" about the entire act. They've found the perfect role for him, and as a surprisingly good wrestler who looks like a piece of shit I think he could be "fun." You just have wrestlers mock him for looking like a bum and then he elbows them in the fucking head and struts away. Dolph Ziggler would be perfect for this. Well, as much as people can care about Dolph Ziggler in today's day and age.

Ohno's got a bad thyroid issue that's plagued him for years. Makes it nigh on impossible to drop weight even if he's eating healthy and working out a ton. His conditioning in the ring is incredible so I'd never say his appearance is a result of laziness.

Apparently Shane McMahon is currently dealing with some legal issues related to a failed weed company investment he made two years ago.

Shane McMahon invested $500,000 in 2015 into a company called EnviroGrow, which produces “pre-fabricated modules for growing pot,” according to a story by the New York Daily News.

In 2015, Shane ponied up $500,000 for a large stake in the Connecticut-based firm EnviroGrow, which sells the modules in states where the drug is legal for medical or recreational use.

Shane McMahon is now also suing the company, alleging that they mislead him and wanting his investment returned:

Shane McMahon revealed his interest in EnviroGrow in a lawsuit filed in a Connecticut court last year in which he accused the company’s owner of duping him about the state of the company.

The lawsuit says that Palmieri had approached McMahon about investing, telling him that the modules were state of the art, allowing for “around-the-clock growth in a climate-controlled environment that was safe from theft.”

After making the investment, McMahon traveled to Fort Collins, Colo., to inspect EnviroGrow’s manufacturing plant, but found it virtually nonexistent, according to the lawsuit.

McMahon said that he demanded the return of his investment, but Palmieri refused.

Dalton Castle is the shit and pulls off that gimmick great. Would love to see him in WWE with the same exact character. Haven't really seen alot of Flio Gordon but from his name you can probably tell he likes to flip. Seems to be receiving a bit of a push from ROH right now so well see.

No doubt. If he he could be that same character in WWE though he'd kill. The guy also wrestle as well. Chad Gable is a good comparison as they both are green but show alot of potential. Rico as well as he's probably the last guy in WWE to actually pull off that type of gimmick. Put the two together and you have something but WWE would totally fuck it up, yeah.

There is a lovefest thread for Dalton Castle made awhile ago if you go back far enough.

Flip Gordon seems like the worst parts of "stereotypical indy" CAW (entirely too much "flippy shit" and wearing kickpads to boot). It's like Jack Evans in both his and Eminem's prime had a baby with John Cena right after filming "The Marine". His theme is gawdawful as well. It *kinda* works, given there aren't a boatload of guys that wrestle like that in ROH anymore, but it's still kinda bleh.

If you asked me who was the owner and who was the wrestler in that top billed match, I would probably say Shane was the wrestler. He's probably the biggest star on the SmackDown roster. Well, it'd be between him and Orton, who doesn't appear to be on this show.

Usos and The New Day will probably light it up and have a great match.

Natalya vs Charlotte could be good. In fact it could be very good, as their match in NXT was the first time I turned around and started paying attention to the women. But like Becky, her work on the main roster hasn't even come close to equaling her work in NXT. So who knows how that's gonna go.

This is why I don't invest in WWE very much. I watch the PPV's because the matches are still good. The problem burning this stuff out is that once they break, the idea of them facing off again doesn't have appeal for a long time. It works in the context of a program, because if you've been watching it, then it is enjoyable, but when the idea is teased two years from now, it will feel like "didn't they just do this?" The New Day vs. Gallows & Anderson is a great example of that. They played that out so much that when people are like "Move Gallows & Anderson to SmackDown," my first thought is "God no."

Mr. Nerfect
10-03-2017, 06:55 PM
I think it would be better if they more often cut things short and separated certain talent by a wider margin, in order to preserve certain things that just work. This is actually an unintended side part of why I want New Day vs. Mahal. If you don't want to have Jinder drop the strap, you can save him for a few months. You can freshen up the tag division for a bit. And, most importantly, you have one of your top merchandise draws on the theoretical top of the card.

I met the Ultimate Warrior once. I was 16 years old working the register at a Wendy's in Scottsdale, AZ sometime circa 1997. I knew Warrior owned a gym in the area and always wondered if I would be lucky enough to run into him.
One slow afternoon, a beyond jacked bodybuilding monster walks up to my register wearing a loose eighties style tank top. It took a minute for my brain to connect the dots as he was not wearing his iconic face paint. But goddamned if my child hero wasn't standing in front of me. Our interaction was short but twenty years late I still remember it like it happened yesterday.
Before I could say a word he told me that he thinks he left his glasses in the restaurant when he was there before. I look in the box under the register and find a pair of glasses. I show him the pair and he claims them, then he said to me, "I'm glad I came back before the Mexicans stole them" (gesturing to some of our food prep workers).

Yes but think it also hurts them as well in the eyes of the courts since IP/trademark laws can be a bit weird at times.

Some courts will lean towards the ones getting sued or threatened if they feel companies are not doing an adequate job protecting their trademarks which is why certain companies like Nintendo and Disney are very active in these types of issues.

OSpreay would have a tougher time contesting but Bucks have a better claim for use due to how long the WWE waited to file trademarks and enforce them.

Just going to through this out there:

I'd rather see John Cena challenge for the Universal Title at WrestleMania than Roman Reigns. Cena is presumably going to be there. Have him make it right up until the end of the Royal Rumble before getting tossed out by AJ Styles, who goes on to challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Title. Cena still wants Brock. Heyman accepts the challenge, but Brock wants to do something to Cena that no one has ever done before: Make him quit.

* Brock Lesnar (c) vs. John Cena in an I Quit Match for the Universal Championship
* Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship

The Shield stick together and continue to be an unstoppable force. Triple H doesn't like them being back together, and he faces them with Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens by his side. The Four Horsewomen of WWE and of MMA also collide somewhere else on the card.

* The Shield vs. Triple H, Samoa Joe & Kevin Owens
* The Four Horsewomen of WWE vs. The Four Horsewomen of MMA

And that's WrestleMania booked. Go fuck yourselves.

Remember when WWE wanted to debut Kenzo Suzuki as the cryogenically frozen Japanese emperor Hirohito and have him do an anti-America gimmick on RAW where the major babyface were all Canadian so they briefly changed the Canadians hometowns to places in America in order to prepare them for his debut?

Then he wound up on SmackDown under his own name with his wife as a geisha, and after a few months danced instead.

WWE was an odd place in 2004.

And on a depressing note it was also a significantly better place then as opposed to now. I mean, yes, there were still some glaring flaws in the product, but at least they were actually TRYING to build stars on the main roster.

And once that gimmick fell through, the idea was pitched of Heidenreich debuting as a cryogenically frozen Nazi.

Thunder and Heat are currently being delayed from being uploaded to the Network, reportedly due to the ongoing lawsuit going on with Raven who featured prominently on both shows. They don't want to upload content with him on it while it's going on.

So the next stuff that will be uploaded is apparently the original NXT series when it was a "competition" show before turning into the second coming of WWECW.

There is like 3 years of heat without Raven on it.

Yeah, not really sure why they can't upload that and do the rest later. Probably 75% of the people that would want to watch it are people wanting the Attitude Era stuff anyway since that's when "stuff happened" on Heat.
