This is heavy speculation and the report comes with some details suggesting there may be nothing to them, but WrestlingInc reports that there have been unconfirmed rumors that AJ Styles may be in talks with WWE. The rumors suggest that Styles, who recently told Taz on his podcast that he’d “go do what’s best for my family” in terms of deciding where his career goes, may have had communication with the company about going to NXT.

The site notes that they’ve spoken with a source close to NJPW and Styles, who said they also heard the rumors in Japan at the end of last month but that it’s all speculation. Talent in New Japan believes that Styles doesn’t want to go to WWE and that there is nothing to the reports.

Steve Austin talks to Brian Fritz about his appearance on Raw, saying he didn't know he was going to even be no the show until the morning of the show when he was texted, saying "It was what it was," and said he was handed a piece of paper and he had to make four announcements. "It left a lot to be desired for my part, but it was doing a favor for WWE." He was asked about wrestling again and said 99.9% percent no.

This week’s WWE Monday Night Raw did an average viewing audience of 3,248,000 viewers on the USA Network. That’s down an average of (-106,000 viewers) from the week prior. Below is how the show did each hour:

Hour one – 3,375,000 viewers
Hour two – 3,180.000 viewers
Hour three – 3,189,000 viewers
Average – 3,248,000 viewers
Drop is mostly due to the first hour getting weaker now. Not just because Cena is gone since it was already showing signs of it happening prior to his vacation. On the inverse, 3rd hour has been getting stable at keeping the crowd from the 2nd hour.

This show seemed to hit an audience base of about 3.18 million viewers, which is where the second hour fell to, with the Survivor Series match gimmick in the third hour actually increasing slightly over hour two. But the first two hours were way down from usual levels.

It wasn't the football competition, and it was without any baseball competition. But the show didn't have the benefit of coming the day after a PPV like last week, and had none of the big guns like John Cena, Brock Lesnar nor any special attractions.
Observer on the possible causes for another historic low rating for RAW.

USA Network is adding at least 104 more hours of wrestling when WWE's "SmackDown" moves to the channel from sibling Syfy next year, bringing its annual total to 263.

It's a risky move for the NBC Universal cable network, given advertisers' longstanding perception that WWE's crude storylines attract a downscale audience. So NBC Universal and WWE have spent the last several months out in the marketplace attempting to change the image of the franchise.

The result: 37 new advertisers, including the first auto marketers, have signed on to run commercials in WWE programming on USA ...

With the increase in wrestling inventory coming to USA from Syfy, NBCU was aggressive in its pitch to agencies and clients during this summer's upfront, according to media buyers ...

While NBC Universal's pitch was well-received for the most part, some advertisers continue to shy away from the content. And for them, the increase in WWE programming on the network makes USA a harder buy.

"We ran into issues with supply in prime time on USA because of wrestling's presence," Mr. Vendetti said. "There are still a number of advertisers that won't be in it because of legacy, so it blocks out some advertisers from buying USA in prime time."

While "Raw" and "SmackDown" are among the most-watched programs on cable TV, averaging 3.3 million and 2.1 million viewers, respectively, viewership is down 13% for "Raw" and 16% for "SmackDown" year-over-year ...

Like most cable networks, USA is struggling with ratings declines. In the third quarter, USA's viewership eroded 17%, according to research in a note from Sanford C. Bernstein analyst Todd Juenger ...

After signing a new deal last year to keep WWE programming on NBC Universal channels, the two companies have made a concerted, coordinated effort to change the perception of the franchise and create more robust opportunities for marketers. The increased cooperation resulted in deeper integrations and branded content opportunities for advertisers.

Snapple tapped WWE personalities such as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon for a commercial in April, while Paramount promoted "Terminator: Genisys" with a WWE integration that included Triple H making a grand entrance during "WrestleMania" using imagery from the movie.

When "SmackDown" debuts on USA next year, Weinstein Co.'s "Hateful Eight" will be the presenting sponsor.

Since WWE controls every aspect of the programming and the participants, it can create storylines that include brands, Mr. Vendetti said.

Previously, WWE and NBCU spoke to marketers and struck deals separately, said Michelle Wilson, chief marketing and revenue officer, WWE.

But WWE and NBCU are now meeting with marketers together to come up with bigger integrations that can live across WWE, NBCU and brand's TV, social and digital assets, Ms. Wilson said.

"This is how you create ideas that go viral," she said.
Article regarding NBC working to change the perception/direction of the WWE in order to get better ad rates. On one hand, if successful then the WWE and USA Network will be better off. On the other hand, could also lead to more companies having a stronger say on what the WWE can and can't do (ex. Mattel and the PG era). Also expect a lot more ads and/or sponsored segments within WWE shows as well. http://adage.com/article/media/nbcu-wwe-working-woo-advertisers/301152/

The hearings will remain open to the public but the prosecution, defense, Snuka, Snuka's family and the Argentino family are all barred from commenting on the proceedings to the press. Snuka was arraigned today and pleaded not guilty. He claimed he didn't know what day of the week it was, what city he was in, and said he couldn't read or write English.

PW Insider has reported that WWE and Tapout are planning to be opening up a series of Tapout Fitness Centers across the U.S. next year, similar to the UFC Gym franchise. WWE talent would be doing appearances at the gyms the same way UFC talent appears at their gyms. WWE talents will be doing fitness workout tapes as well.

Also, regarding Nikki Bella not working the four-way and not being advertised for Survivor Series at this point, she appears to be taking some time off to treat some nagging injuries including to her neck and hip.

Rumor spreading around the net is that Vince is the reason why relations between Del Rio and Mexican promotion AAA quickly deteriorated. Depends on what you mean by "salvaged." Could he ever be a world champion or main eventer? Probably not. Could he have a decent "light repackaging" and become a solid midcard guy? Definitely. Of course he'd need that repackaging I mentioned. In his current character/role he's doomed.

Regarding WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins possibly suffering a leg injury at tonight's WWE live event in Dublin, word going around backstage is that he tweaked his knee.

One source noted to PWInsider that the severity of the injury was still unknown but another source believed it was just a regular in-ring accident that happens and that Rollins would likely tape-up and work the rest of the tour.

Rollins was set to get the leg checked out, so they will likely have a better idea on his status later tonight or tomorrow.

Rollins was defending his title against Kane in the main event, and was doing a powerbomb spot out of the corner, which may started as a sunset flip, when his right leg gave out and he clutched at the knee. A table had been set up in the ring and Rollins looked to be getting ready to power bomb Kane through it.

He did get up and continue the match, including doing the power bomb through the table, but had to be helped out of the ring.
Observer on when Rollins hurt his knee during the match.

Roderick Strong appears to be headed to Veracruz, Mexico on Saturday to work a show replacing Alberto Del Rio in the main event. It's looking more and more likely that Del Rio will ever return to Mexico to drop the AAA Mega title.

In a press release today highlighting its January premieres, USA Network announced the move of WWE Smackdown from the SyFy network. What was notable from this release is that despite rumours of a possible move to Tuesday nights, airing live, the premiere was announced for January 7th, a Thursday, meaning it’s likely that this means the show will stay in the same Thursday time slot it’s been in for the last year.

This move is expected to increase audience viewership of the WWE’s #2 show, as the USA Network has a much higher average viewership than SyFy. Despite both networks being in virtually the same number of homes, USA averages about 1.6 million viewers in Prime Time (week ending Nov 1) vs about 770,000 for SyFy. Smackdown has consistently been the highest rated show on SyFy, averaging around 2.1 million viewers for the 2 hour show.

Observer had more about the history of Smackdown moving to new networks. While it usually provides a bigger number than whatever was shown before on a network, the "honeymoon" boost has usually been very short.

And whatever John Cena is doing during his time off, it's not resting up his body. A photo just got posted on the Hard Knocks South gym Twitter of him squatting 611 pounds, a personal record, down below parallel.
Follows the trend of past breaks he's had where he barely takes any real off time to rest.

Silence is golden … unless you’re former Lucha Underground champ Prince Puma — a.k.a. Ricochet — who has made the request this season for producers to finally allow his character to talk!

Sources close to the situation tell us Ricochet recently asked the powers that be to let his character speak while discussing plans for the upcoming season — and now he’s scheduled for a meeting with execs later this month to talk about it more in depth, as well as other plans for the future.

We’re told Prince Puma isn’t looking for long monologues, or anything like that — he’s just ready to show his worth on the stick this season, even if it’s in short bursts.

Despite wrestlers Alberto Del Rio and Big Ryck dropping out of Lucha Underground before the second season starts, we’re told Prince Puma is locked into a 3 season deal and ain’t going anywhere.

On the most recent episode of Pro Wrestling’s Illustrated PWI Podcast, Senior Writers Al Castle and Dan Murphy revealed Nikki Bella as the top-ranked wrestler in this year’s PWI Female 50. The announcement comes a few days ahead of the digital release of the new issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, which will feature the complete list of female rankings for 2015.

Nikki’s ranking as the No. 1 women’s wrestler is a bit controversial, as the female grappler has a fair share of detractors, particularly among the much-maligned “Internet Wrestling Community.” Addressing this, Dan Murphy compared and contrasted the work of other top female stars during the evaluation period, which spanned from October 1, 2014, to September 30, 2015. Murphy noted that the acclaimed NXT bout between Sasha Banks and Bayley fell outside of the aforementioned period and, while it was one of the better women’s matches in the recent past, it was not a factor in either woman’s ranking for 2015.
For some reference, PWI usually puts a lot of weight towards title holders especially WWE titles which is why Rollins is #1 for the year for men. http://www.inquisitr.com/2541716/wwe-news-nikki-bella-comments-on-winning-top-spot-in-this-years-pwi-female-50/

Later in the podcast, Dan Murphy and Al Castle discussed the other women in the top five slots of this year’s PWI Female 50. Paige, who was No. 1 last year, grabbed second place. Sasha Banks, who recently moved from NXT to WWE’s main roster, came in at No. 3 in the highest debut for a wrestler in the history of the magazine’s female rankings. Reigning NWA women’s champion Santana Garret was ranked No. 4, and TNA’s Gail Kim rounded out the crop at No. 5.

The script was shopped to cable networks, with Fox stepping up to take it off the table. O’Connor has been interested in professional wrestling and penned an article about WWE star Brock Lesnar in New York Times Magazine in August.

Unless you're SlickyTrickyDamon. Then the linear championship can be dismissed as "dumb" along with the influx of Australian female athletes in the NXT division.

The story we've gotten is WWE and Vince McMahon have signed off on allowing ESPN to use archival Flair footage for the 30 for 30 special they are currently working on. The special is supposed to cover Flair's entire career, the plane crash, personal life and financial issues, his son's death and everything else, with a focus on his heyday in the 80s. Flair was interviewed this past week for four hours for the special.

It’s been six months since Bill Simmons left ESPN, and three since he announced he would be partnering with HBO, and yet the exact future of the Simmons entertainment/sports empire is still shrouded in mystery. But according to a new report, we may have the first solid piece of the puzzle. Simmons and HBO will join forces, according to Page Six, for the most entertainment/sports crossover subject you can think of: a documentary about André the Giant ...

So, rags to riches, a pop-culture icon, and a tragic end? Sounds like Simmons has the perfect subject on his hands. Richard Johnson of Page Six reports that 30 for 30 director Jonathan Hock has followed Bill Simmons “out the door from ESPN,” and there have been some rumblings that, like the recently shuttered Grantland before it, the popular sports documentary series is floundering since its creator, Simmons, departed.

An original on the books plan for the Tokyo Dome is a singles match with Jay Lethal vs. Michael Elgin, possibly with the ROH title at stake. This would be Lethal's introduction to New Japan as a star. Given that Elgin is now a free agent, that would mean if he inks a deal with WWE (or TNA), this could have to be changed.

Another controversy came from our reporting of his downside guarantee of $1.45 million. WWE said that while he could very well make $1.45 million per year, his downside was significantly less, claiming it as under $500,000. Others who are close to him are insisting that's WWE trying to save face when the word got out. I tend to believe WWE on this one, because the negotiations started right after his Lucha Underground deal fell apart. The timing made me think he was going to them, not them to him, and if that's the case, the downside wouldn't be as high. But saying that contradicts people who had been kept abreast of the situation, who claim Paul Levesque called him first. I do know that it was an issue within WWE because the doctrine is that nobody gets more than a $1 million downside guarantee (although Brock Lesnar got far more, and guys like John Cena or possibly Undertaker may– but the belief is that the Randy Orton types are getting a $1 million downside, but end up earning far more than that).
Would have made a bit more with Lucha Underground for less days had he taken their deal but the bonuses and merch sales likely pushed him towards taking the WWE deal for less downside and more dates.

For the new season of Lucha Underground, we're told the cost-cutting will not be so much cutting the production costs of the show itself, but taping fewer episodes of the show. The new season has 12 taping dates, and if they do two episodes per taping, as they were doing at the end of last season, that would be 24 shows, down from 39 the first season.

The Young Bucks deal was a one-year contract, which means that in about six to nine months we'll have all the rumors all over again about them going to WWE. Just for a clarification, the deal with ROH is exclusive for North America with the exception of PWG, so that means U.S., Canada and Mexico. New Japan strongly encouraged them to sign the deal because they knew how hard they were working on the indies and didn't want them to get hurt by working so many dates. Plus, since they work with ROH, both sides will be able to coordinate the dates. They are supposed to also do a ten week minimum with New Japan on a separate deal . Essentially, between the two, they are guaranteed more money than they've ever earned before and will be working considerably less dates. The PWG aspect of the deal was something they insisted on, and they also get to keep their merchandising rights and Pro Wrestling Tees business. Nobody else under ROH contract, even those with non-exclusive deals, are allowed to be affiliated with Pro Wrestling Tees.
Part of a new plan by parent company Sinclair to help boost ROH with extra funding than usual when needed. Budget also going to go up gradually over the next couple of years to help ROH more.

Not that there was much in the way of business that this relates to, but ROH is no longer allowing any contracted talent, whether they have exclusive or non-exclusive deals, to work for AAA.
Was implied the ROH-NJPW deal played a bit in a role why ROH dropped all remaining ties with AAA. NJPW has a working deal with CMLL only and ROH wpuld have had some scheduling issues with upcoming events if they sent guys to both Mexican promotions and NJPW.

In a follow-up of Marc Etkind moving from Destination America as General Manager a few weeks ago, it was Etkind who made the call to drop TNA and it came after the alleged e-mail Dixie Carter accidentally sent to the head of the Discovery Network that was saying Etkind was an idiot in regard to not releasing the DVR ratings, like Spike often did, since TNA was doing 20 percent increases over its same night viewing when you add in those who watched over the next week on DVR. While there is no indication anything has changed in that regard, we were told that all programming decisions are now being evaluated. For what it's worth, it seems like those in TNA believe they are still done in January, while those in ROH say they are awaiting word of what their future on the station is.

Coming on the heels of TNA's announcement of going to India, WWE has announced shows on 1/15 and 1/16 at the Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Dehli, headlined by Cena. Daniel Bryan was sent to India to make the announcement. The last time WWE went to India, in 2002, it was a disaster in the sense payoffs were horrible because the profit margin was low and several guys claimed at the time they'd quit the company rather than go back because so many people got sick. Regal got terribly sick. When media asked officials if Khali would be there (he's now affiliated with TNA), Rajesh Sethi of Ten Sports Network, which is bringing them in, started talking about how big the Big Show is and that he would be there.

More important when it comes to the value of Raw, if you take Raw out of that week's ratings, the USA average for the week drops to 1,203,000 viewers, and would only be in 12th place, which would be considered disastrous for a network that for years was No. 1. That's why even with Raw's ratings decline this year, it is at this point more important for USA to keep Raw than it would have been two years ago when Raw's numbers were higher, because USA is dropping at a far greater pace than its competition. While Raw always helped, until two years ago, USA would have been No. 1 even without Raw. Now they aren't No. 1 even with three hours of Raw and would be an also-ran without it.
RAW managed to become more valuable to USA not because it was doing good but instead USA's new shows haven't been able to maintain the viewership nor ratings the previous shows did for them. Big reason why RAW can get away with the declining numbers since USA has nothing at the moment worthy to replace it.

The 9 p.m. airing of Impact on 11/4 did 262,000 viewers, down from last week’s 266,000 viewers. The replay did 81,000 viewers, down from last week’s 98,000 viewers. Overall they did 343,000 viewers, down from last week’s 364,000 viewers.

The 11/4 edition of Ring Of Honor did 141,000 viewers, way down from last week’s 227,000 viewers.

According to sources, WWE is likely to be calling in some “very big names” to appear on TV now that Seth Rollins is out for up to nine months with a knee injury. The timing of the injury is particularly bad with John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton and other big names on hiatus for various reasons, which could lead to WWE bringing in some major names.

It wasn’t noted if these “big names” would be for RAW or scattered throughout the coming weeks until Survivor Series, or even for Survivor Series itself. A report yesterday suggested that, Sting should he be healed up from his injuries and able to return to the ring, Sting might be used for Survivor Series in Undertaker and Kane’s expected match with the Wyatts so that is always a possibility.

Hey guys, remember in 1996 when WWE lost most of it's big names for WCW? Remember that?

Remember when they had, maybe about three big stars. What did they do? They made new stars!!! Remember that? Remember when mid-carders like "The Ringmaster", Rocky Maivia, Mankind and Hunter Hurst Helmsley become huge stars and ratings were through the roof and people were super excited by these fresh, young faces?

Why are WWE so determined not to do that now?

Ratings are low enough as it is. Whatever "big names" they bring in won't help matters. It's a short-term solution to a long-term project.

WWE has to make a key decision this week regarding who will be the top heel. Alberto Del Rio is already earmarked for John Cena, but Roman Reigns is slotted as the top babyface and Brock Lesnar as the top attraction. With Bray Wyatt having just had a Hell in a Cell match with Reigns, he's not the right guy for right now. The heel is either going to have to win the tournament, or be the key opponent for whoever wins the tournament. So the choices are Kevin Owens, Big Show, Braun Strowman, or turning a face like Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler or Dean Ambrose.

As noted, WWE officials and writers will be spending the next few days re-writing most of their future storyline plans, including WrestleMania 32 plans, as Seth Rollins has vacated the WWE World Heavyweight Title and will be out of action for 6-9 months.

WWE had plans for Roman Reigns vs. Rollins to main event this month's Survivor Series pay-per-view and the December TLC pay-per-view. We don't know exactly when the change would have taken place but creative plans did have Rollins dropping the WWE World Heavyweight Title to Reigns, according to PWInsider. The plan going into 2016's WrestleMania season was for Reigns to be champion.

No word yet on how those plans for Reigns will factor into the Survivor Series tournament to crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Observer had speculated Rollins vs HHH would have been the title match for Mania 32 with Triple H winning the Rumble and being the face in that match.

According to the WON, there is a possibility of Sting teaming with the Undertaker and Kane at Survivor Series against the Wyatt Family. Sting’s involvement is contingent upon whether he’s able to compete after the injuries he suffered at Night of Champions.

If Sting isn’t used, it’s possible that the match ends up being a two-on-four elimination match pitting Kane and Taker against all four Wyatt Family members. WWE has had plans to bring Undertaker and Kane back together for a while and original plans called for it to happen early next year, but they decided to pull the trigger early.

For Survivor Series on 11/22 in Atlanta, the only matches official are Rollins vs. Reigns for the WWE title and Charlotte vs. Paige for the Divas title. Obviously The Wyatt Family will be in a match with Undertaker & Kane, probably elimination style. Unless Sting is able to wrestle, this looks now like a 2-on-4 type match since Reigns is accounted for, Ambrose looks to be facing Owens for the IC title, and Orton is injured. You could put Ryback in or Cesaro in. But Cesaro seems like he's programmed with Stardust. Bryan is always out there if he's cleared. The New Day's tag title opponents look to be the Lucha Dragons (who won the four-way for the shot last week but then got destroyed on Smackdown this week by the Wyatts) and/or the Usos (who returned and beat the New Day for two falls in an elimination match on Raw). Other matches probable are Ziggler vs. Breeze, and Del Rio vs. Swagger for the U.S. title.
Observer earlier speculation on a possible card for Survivor Series prior to Rollins injury messing up things.

Troy Hughes of 105.3 THE FAN Dallas/Ft. Worth interviewed WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at last night's WrestleMania Pre-Sale Party at AT&T Stadium. Austin talked about this weekend's Cowboys vs. Eagles NFL game, as well as Seth Rollins getting injured and being out of action for 6-9 months.

Austin talked being forced out of action during his hot run and noted that it allowed The Rock and Triple H - who he noted were already stars on the rise - to really break out. With Rollins being out, Austin noted that it's "bad and sad" that Rollins got hurt, but it creates opportunities for talent.

"These guys in waiting that have been thinking if they had a shot, now is their chance to seize that opportunity," Austin said. "It's sink or swim now, and they're going to get an opportunity that they normally wouldn't have had coming."

Because right now their backs are not against the wall. It's kind of like the deal with World of Warcraft and Blizzard, the product is sinking like a stone but other areas are making money so why risk anything new.

Who can they feed to Reigns that can be seen as a credible threat and not tarnish their value? Only one I can see at the moment is Sheamus..

Reigns wins tourney, Sheamus cashes in and wins and Reigns chases and eventually prevails. It is probably a shit choice but I would not waste Owens or Ambrose. Ceasaro, Ziggler, and Ryback are just not seen as champions and a another feud with Wyatt or anyone in his stable seems pointless right now as they seem to be slated for Taker and Kane.

Sheamus.
Fucking Sheamus.

Feel like Cesaro could totally pull off the sharply dressed, rich, narcissistic heel that thinks he's better than everybody else. Like, thats his niche. His performance that pushes him from great hand to top talent.

I've been critical of cesaro's mic work but sometimes all it takes is the right gimmick to bring someone's strengths to the forefront. I've seen little signs in the past that tell me this could be that gimmick for cesaro.

Oddly enough, I thought of this guy for about 30 seconds and wondered if he would be brought back and fed to Bray Wyatt in his current "soul devouring"/Survivor Series campaign. Also thought the same for Mick Foley in full Mankind gear... but not sure if he would agree to a match setup. Maybe I'm closer to right than I thought.

But really, who all is left that is "supernatural"? Hade Vansen?

Papa Shango would be nice and all, but pretty sure he'd be ruin'd with chants of "where's the hoes?" or somesuch.

Mordecai, or Kevin Thorn?

Seriously, though... Boogeyman? A Legend? Heh, I guess if there were any semi-legit way to shoehorn him back, this would be it.

Noid post warning:

Hearing rumors about Cena vs Taker for Mania. Cool idea, but how about this?

Survivor Series is Brothers of Destruction and Dudleys vs Wyatt Family. Braun is eliminated first, after a 3D and 2 Double Chokeslams. D-Von is next, after Harper and Rowan hit their version of 3D. Bubba Ray falls to Sister Abigail. Brothers of Destruction start rolling, taking out Rowan, and looking like they always did. Out of nowhere, Sister Abigail and so long Kane.

Down to Taker vs. Harper and Wyatt. Wyatt appears willing to sacrifice Harper to Taker, but to everyone's amazement, looks to be the equal of the Dead Man. Harper nails the discus lariat, and Wyatt demands to be tagged in. Harper does so, and Wyatt goes for Sister Abigail. Undertaker counters with a chokeslam, tombstone, so long Wyatt.

Down to Harper and Taker. Wyatt commands Harper to leave, Harper resists, continuing to get the better of the Phenom. After a Tombstone escape, Harper nails the Boot. Taker sits up, but falls back. Wyatt finally gets Harper to exit, giving the Dead Man the win, but with a question mark.

We find out that Harper idolized the Undertaker when he was "broken." And he wants to destroy "his idols," to prove himself truly fixed. Wyatt doesn't want this, because he secretly fears that the Wild Man might be a greater monster than even he is. The only thing is Harper himself doesn't know this. A bit more resistance from Harper and it leads to a match with Wyatt, winner faces the Undertaker.

Of course we'll get Taker-Cena,though.

I can see that

A Reigns heel turn could be what brings Rock back into the picture. It would be great if they could do Reigns vs Rock at the Rumble. That spins off into HHH V Rock, and you involve the girls.

Cena V Taker star power wise is a good match for Mania.

Only problem I see is that most recent Manias have 4 high profile fights. This one only has three. Unless they have something lined up for Sting.

Would he want to be signed? I don't know the guy, but he's hit a stride in Japan and realistically only has a few years to make a splash in WWE if he ever wanted to go there. This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw for Manchester, England garnered an average viewing audience of 3,173,333 viewers on the USA Network. That’s down an average of (-74,667 viewers) from the week prior. Below is how the show did each hour:

Hour one – 3,480,000 viewers
Hour two – 3,177.000 viewers
Hour three – 2,863,000 viewers
Average – 3,173,333 viewers
New historic low even with the excuse of it being a taped show. For some comparisons, 3rd hour lost around 1 million viewers compared to last year's UK show and around 800,000 for the show average.

There was a lot of crowd sweetening on Raw with the post-production, most notably during the segment with Roman Reigns at the start of the show. At one point you could actually hear people booing Roman Reigns and then the crowd audio changed and the boos turned into cheers.

Reports from the arena are that the crowd was hot throughout the night but it didn’t come across that way on television because of the crowd sweetening.

In an interview with Radio Yorkshire, Hulk Hogan said that he was the first to notice the potential of Kevin Owens. Here are highlights:

On Kevin Owens: “Well, I hate to brag about it, but I’m the first one to point the finger at Kevin Owens. I saw him on NXT, like his second match, and saw him just chop and beat and grind and beating his guy down and doing it the old school way and really understanding how to get heat, doing it the old school way and I said, ‘that’s the guy’. I said, ‘that’s the guy. I don’t care if he looks like a wrestler [or] looks like an ice cream salesman. I don’t care. That’s the guy.'”

Big Show may have suffered an injury at tonight's WWE live event in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

During a Street Fight against Demon Kane, Big Show was chokeslammed trough a table and landed "quite bad" according to reader Chris Kinkead. The referee quickly called for medics to come down and check on Big Show. Another referee also came down and ended up counting Kane's three count on Big Show.

Regarding TNA President Dixie Carter teasing a possible reunion with TNA and Spike TV on Twitter last week, apparently there is nothing going on between the two sides. A high-level Spike TV source noted to PWInsider that they haven't heard anything about TNA returning and another said it would be highly unlikely. TNA is reportedly still in talks with a few different networks and those networks have more viewership than Destination America currently has.

As seen this past week, it was ESPN and Jonathan Coachman that broke the news of Seth Rollins being injured and forced to drop the WWE World Heavyweight Title. WWE even credited ESPN with the scoop. On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez confirmed a report from Court Bauer on MLW Radio that said we can expect to see ESPN breaking more WWE stories in the future with WWE crediting them. Apparently this is part of the new working relationship between the two companies. It's also expected that ESPN will provide in-depth coverage from WrestleMania 32 next year.

There has been some speculation regarding Sara Del Rey's WWE coaching status as she's appeared on recent episodes of WWE Breaking Ground. Del Rey is still working as an agent with WWE's main roster talents but she also continues to train developmental talents at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Former TNA Knockout Sarah Stock (Dark Angel, Sarita) is also now working with women at the Performance Center. In another backstage note from Breaking Ground, the show has indicated that NXT General Manager William Regal teaches the promo classes but usually the one teaching those classes is Ryan Katz, former indie wrestler GQ Money. Katz was said to be a "Dusty Rhodes Guy" and worked closely with The Dream before his passing.

Dorian Roldan of AAA was on Busted Open Radio yesterday and announced that the AAA Mega Title, which had been held by Alberto Del Rio, is now vacant and they will be doing a tournament to crown a new champion. He flat-out said Alberto will not, in fact, be returning to Mexico for any dates for AAA, which was pretty much clear as soon as he no-showed the event last Sunday on a day that he had no other commitments for WWE. He will be working the upcoming WWC show because WWE has a working relationship with WWE Hall of Famer Carlos Colon.

There will be two "Legends With JBL" shows next week with Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and others talking the career of Undertaker, one on Monday night and one on Thursday night. As noted on Raw, next week is Undertaker Week on the WWE Network.

The Dirty Sheets Report sponsored by Flair Flopping Wednesday:
http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view6/4860559/ric-flair-flop-o.gif

We noted before via PWInsider that John Cena vs. The Undertaker is one of the planned main events for WWE's WrestleMania 32 next year. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports this week that Cena vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Title was planned, at least before Seth Rollins got injured. This goes with the report that Reigns was set to win the title from Rollins at Survivor Series or soon after.

The Observer reports that Rollins was set to face Triple H at WrestleMania 32. The Rock vs. Triple H had been planned but the Rollins match was just recently chosen as WWE creative were told that both Rock and Ronda Rousey wouldn't be available to wrestle next year.

Apparently The Rock has an insurance problem as a movie he will be filming in 2016 had an issue with insurance coverage if he did any pro wrestling before the movie was filmed, due to the obvious risk of injury. Unless something changes, Rock will likely just be making an appearance in Dallas next year, not wrestling..

If the Cena vs. Undertaker reports are true, that could mean Reigns will face Brock Lesnar. We know that Taker vs. Lesnar was planned for WrestleMania 32 at one point but pushed up and the feud was ended at Hell In a Cell.

Reigns vs. John Cena for the WWE title was scheduled as another key main event before the Rollins injury. Whether Reigns would have gone heel, or this would be a face vs. face match with Cena doing the ultimate passing of the torch was not clear. The show’s goal was to establish Reigns as the company’s top star going forward, just as was the original goal for the show last year.
Observer on more details regarding what the plans were for a possible Cena vs Reigns match. Also teased a possible Reigns future heel turn likely getting squashed since he's the #2 merch seller right now for the WWE (also helps that he has the most merch out of everyone else excluding the Bellas I think).

Sami Zayn was seen doing very light workouts in the ring at the WWE Performance Center several weeks ago, but has not been there in some time. Zayn has publicly said he would be out until early 2016, although we had originally heard he might return before then.

Hideo Itami has yet to get in a ring and return to training following his shoulder surgery, so there's no immediate expectation he will be returning to NXT soon. When he was injured in May, the belief was he would be out 6-8 months, the latter of which would be January 2016.

Because, RAW right now is three hours long, right? So what happens is, before, when RAW was two hours, you didn't see many long matches, and there were separate brands. There was RAW and Smackdown!, and you didn't see people on both shows very often.

Well now, we have a three hour RAW and two hour Smackdown!, so guys are wrestling long matches on both shows. And who're going to stand out on that kind of platform? Guys who know how to be different in the ring, who can go out there and wrestle a 10, 12, 15 minute match twice a week, and not have the fans get bored by it.

Because realistically, if you take wrestlers from the previous generations, and if they had wrestled as much on television as we have, they would be over exposed. But then, you won't like them as much.

That's one of the biggest battles our generation faces; the previous generations' battle was getting exposure, trying to get exposure. Now our battle is over exposure, and those who can handle over exposure the best are the ones who are popular, and incidentally, people who handle over exposure are the ones who've spent years wrestling in all the different places. So they know how to interact with people in different settings, and that kind of stuff.

So I think it is natural that the independent stars are the people coming up and doing very well.
Recent article from Cagesideseats.com on why it seems like indie guys are the ones adjusting the best during RAW's 3 hour era. http://www.cagesideseats.com/2015/11/11/9713000/daniel-bryan-interesting-theory-why-indy-wrestlers-get-over-wwe-created-stars-struggle

The new episode of Jim Ross' "Ross Report" podcast features TNA star Abyss.

Ross asked for the scoop on whether or not WWE offered him a contract years ago. Abyss said John Laurinaitis, who was then Head of Talent Relations, offered him a job with an immediate main event push. Tommy Dreamer worked beneath “Big Johnny” in WWE’s head office at the time and orchestrated a conversation between Chris Park and WWE when Abyss' TNA contract was coming up in 2006. Abyss said he decided not to go at the last minute. Tommy Dreamer called it "stage fright" but Abyss said it was just very hard to leave TNA. He said that he helped build TNA from the ground up, adding that 2005-2006 was one of the hottest times for the company. He said, “I would rather have been part of something... versus taking the chance of going somewhere and just being a number" ...

JR asked what the creative plans for Abyss might have been and Abyss said he was supposed to debut at the 2007 Royal Rumble. From there he would have started a rivalry with the The Undertaker, which would have ended at WrestleMania 23 in Detroit. JR said Abyss is an honorable man for choosing to stay with TNA, joking that most wrestlers would give up just about anything for that opportunity.

Vince went bowling with someone, might have been an NBC exec. The guy had done something Vince didn't like. Obviously since they were bowling, they were wearing bowling shoes. Vince sneaked off, got the guy's real shoes from behind the counter, tossed the shoes in the garbage and left. The guy had no idea where his shoes were and had to go home wearing the gross bowling shoes. Vince contacted him later and said "That's what you get, pal!". The guy wrote a book and said that Vince was the biggest jerk he'd ever met in real life. (I can't remember the exact source, Meltzer talked about it on a podcast. Holy shit! That Reddit thread is full of fucked up Vince content

LAYBOY: Still, you beat the court-martial and even graduated. By then you had stolen cars and run moonshine. You'd had a drink. You'd had your first joint. You'd lost your virginity.

MCMAHON: [Pauses] That was at a very young age. I remembered, probably in the first grade, being invited to a matinee film with my stepbrother and his girlfriends, and I remember them playing with me. Playing with my penis, and giggling. I thought that was pretty cool. That was my initiation into sex. At that age you don't necessarily achieve an erection, but it was cool. At around the same time there was a girl my age who was, in essence, my cousin. Later in life she actually wound up marrying that asshole Leo Lupton, my stepfather! Boy, this sounds like Tobacco Road. Anyway, I remember the two of us being so curious about each other's bodies but not knowing what the hell to do. We would go into the woods and get naked together. It felt good. And for some reason I wanted to put crushed leaves into her. Don't know why, but I remember that. I don't remember the first time I had intercourse, believe it or not.

PLAYBOY: Your growing up was pretty accelerated.

MCMAHON: God, yes.

JR once told this on Opie & Anthony:

JR once farted in a car with Gerald Brisco, which made Brisco start gagging and throwing up. Vince heard about that, so backstage at RAW one night, he tried to fart and make Brisco puke. It backfired, and Vince shit in his pants. He then had to go out to the ring and do a promo! JR said that all the production people in his headphones told him about it, and that they were instructed to keep the camera shots ABOVE Vince's waistline for the entire promo!

The Dirty Sheets Report sponsored by THE NOT SO DEMON Kane Insurance Agency:
https://a.disquscdn.com/uploads/mediaembed/images/2412/840/original.jpg?w=600&h

For Survivor Series, the entire card was scrapped and two weeks out, nothing was advertised except the conclusion of the title tournament. It hasn’t been said, but it appears that the final four in the tournament will go into Survivor Series. Also made clear at television this past week is that Undertaker & Kane will work a regular tag team match, as opposed to a traditional Survivor Series four-on-four match, against two members of the Wyatt Family. Which two may not be announced until the match takes place. Charlotte vs. Paige for the Divas title is still on the show, and The New Day would look to be defending the tag titles against either/and or The Usos or Lucha Dragons most likely. One would also expect Ziggler vs. Breeze added once/if Ziggler is eliminated from the tournament.

As noted, when WWE last offered Brock Lesnar a new contract it included more money and more dates, which is why we have seen Lesnar work more this year than he has in the past.

According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE and Lesnar recently re-negotiated Lesnar’s to add even more dates to his schedule and more money.

While no reason was offered as to why the re-negotiation took place, with WWE at a loss for top talent right now as John Cena, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan are all off TV, it might be likely that WWE has asked Lesnar to work a bit more to help fill out event cards.

The other big question revolves around Bryan. At last word, he and WWE were awaiting the results of a third doctor’s opinion on whether he could return after Dr. Joseph Maroon, the WWE’s head of medical, ruled that due to his number of concussions, he shouldn’t wrestle again. However, Bryan got an Arizona Cardinals doctor who tested him, and his brain tested above average for his age, and that doctor gave him clearance. If that testing has been completed, the results are being kept secret, although they may be back as one source said Vince McMahon is going back-and-forth on the subject. If he can return, and the plan is to make Reigns the babyface star in 2016, it would be a huge mistake to bring him back before the Royal Rumble, unless the plan is to have him win the Rumble and challenge for the title. Anything else and it’ll create the same environment over the past two years where the company has made plans for a top babyface to headline the show, only for the crowd to ruin those plans because the choice wasn’t Bryan.

The idea of a Reigns turn, going with the Authority, particularly since Reigns shot it down on Raw this past week, makes sense on one hand. There is the feeling that if Reigns were to become a hot heel, that when he flips back, there won’t be the crowd resistance to him that there was before WrestleMania, and, at some TV tapings, continues to be. Ambrose could also turn, since it’s unlikely he’ll ever get to be No. 1 face, but he can be positioned as No. 1 heel. Owens vs. Ambrose for the IC title was originally to be a winter program and was set for Survivor Series.

The Reigns turn question comes down to the fact that he’s just starting to get momentum as a face, and he’s the No. 2 merchandise seller in the company right now behind Cena. C.M. Punk noted that his pay went down greatly when he did his heel turn, even as champion with Paul Heyman, because of the huge decline in his T-shirt sales. But if he or Ambrose doesn’t turn, that means, almost by default, Owens would be the top heel and have little backup, since the other top heels would be Del Rio, who has been working to mostly silence, Bray Wyatt, who has already worked a program with Reigns, Big Show, who is burned out, and Tyler Breeze, who is new and small.
According to recent tallies, in terms of merch it goes Cena at #1 with 125 items, Bellas with 108, Ambrose with 68, and Reigns with 64.

The obvious problem here is that WWE had people send in audition tapes for Tough Enough, they picked a bunch of pretty television friendly people who had physical potential (bikini models, television friendly faces, bodybuilders and mostly big guys with athletic backgrounds) for the cast. They had WWE & USA together producing it, and the ratings don’t appear to have been good enough to have a second season. The idea that if you booked major arenas with ZZ, Josh and Sara Lee coming off the show and went on tour with them as stars, well, it would be disastrous. A non-WWE group wouldn’t likely get the quality of entrants without WWE television pushing thousands to send in tapes to choose from.
Basically whatever plans the WWE had for the revival backfired big time especially with them just signing almost everyone when USA Network told them to focus just on the winners being successful because of past track record.

What we know is that there is a lot of stuff going on behind-the-scenes in AAA. Many of the top stars who don’t have the second Lucha Underground contract, and if they have big enough names that they can make a living on indies, are at least talking about leaving. The unhappiness surrounds all the Americans being brought in this month, and some are unhappy Wagner Jr. was brought back, although that isn’t the main problem. The ones talking of leaving are those with heat with Konnan. Konnan and Cibernetico have been at odds on-and-off forever and he sees is that Konnan is trying to replace top guys with foreigners an replace the older established stars with younger stars. Konnan has tried to get rid of the older stars except the ones who are legends and can still draw off their name, like La Parka and Cibernetico, to have a younger and better working crew, trying to replicate the early 90s crew they had. Right now, Cibernetico and Averno are at least more than very seriously talking of leaving (and both have taken a booking in Brooklyn on 12/5 for Johnny Rodz on the same show that Caristico is appearing at Club LaBoom in Queens, NY, the same day as Guerra de Titanes was planned), but given it’s Mexico and guys talk of leaving, and agree to jumps, and then end up staying all the time, nothing is yet certain. While not publicly saying anything, those at LLE are saying that Cibernetico will be at Arena Mexico on 11/15 “with friends” and the belief is he’ll be at Arena Mexico and not in Nuevo Laredo. This would be the first time Cibernetico has ever wrestled in Arena Mexico
What should have been a really great year for Mexican promotion AAA is turning out to be one of their worst of all time.

The plan for the new season of Lucha Underground is to go farther in the “supernatural” direction. Ultimately their long-term plan is to create a super babyface and monster heels to spin off for a movie or movies, and recreate something like the El Santo genre, with Rey Mysterio most likely in the Santo role. That was big in the 50s and 60s in Mexico, but they don’t have any television in Mexico. While we don’t have this as official, the strong belief is that Flamita, perhaps under the name Fireball, will be on the new season which starts filming on 11/14 and 11/15 in Boyle Heights. We know that he called all indie promoters in Mexico saying he’s not taking anymore bookings. He had said that when he was offered a deal by AAA which he just accepted that a Lucha Underground spot was part of it. Fireball is one of the best flyers in the world, similar to guys like Fenix, Matt Sydal or Ricochet.

Matt Myers Jr., the marketing manager at ROH, has given notice to the company. He will finish his work with the company this Friday. He was hired this summer to oversee ROH's marketing, branding, publicity and new business endeavors. He was well liked but seemed ready to move on.

One source noted that the company has a hard time coming through on a lot of their big plans, which has been leading to some of the turnover. ROH Events Operator Gary Juster and Office Manager Greg Gilleland will be taking over much of Myers' work until a replacement is found.

onty "Kip" Sopp, better known as Billy Gunn, was fired today as a trainer by World Wrestling Entertainment.

Sopp was fired due to testing positive for elevated levels of testosterone in a powerlifting meet on July 25.

Sopp's drug test at the meet came up with a 37-1 testosterone/epitestosterone ratio, well over the 4-1 limit, and he was suspended from powerlifting for four years.

Sopp, 52, had returned to WWE as a trainer in 2012 after several years away from the organization. He worked as an agent and a trainer, as well as had a New Age Outlaws nostalgia run as a tag team, winning the tag team titles in early 2013.

He had done occasional run-ins at the end of some NXT shows with he and the babyfaces wrestlers ending shows doing DX crotch chops.

Most recently, he had appeared on television as one of the trainers on Tough Enough and Breaking Ground.

WWE officials were not aware of him competing as a powerlifter until a few weeks ago or his suspension from that sport.

WWE has confirmed that the NXT Takeover: London special will be live and not on a tape delay on the WWE Network. That means the show will air at 3 PM ET/Noon PT on December 16th instead of the usual late afternoon/evening start.

If you're one of the many fans who believe WWE has frequently misused Cesaro during his time with the company, despite the fact that he's got all the attributes to be a major star, you're not alone. Two-time Hall of Famer Ric Flair is right there with you, as he remarked on his latest podcast (transcription via Wrestling Inc):

"Who brings more to the table as a performer, if you look at raw ability, than Cesaro? Nobody! I mean, that kid is phenomenal! But, he's one week on, one week off, and I think that's part of the problem."

Sure, but what about his promos?

"I know how they can resolve that mic issue. Dial 9-1-1-Naitch!"

Flair's been campaigning to be a manager for someone, anyone, for some time now. WWE, to this point, has been content to use him to only occasionally and almost exclusively to help get his daughter, Charlotte, over as Divas champion.

Maryland Championship Wrestling was announced a streaming service called MCWRageTV.com for $4.99 per month to watch footage of all the latest events and new original content.

After being fired by WWE today, Billy Gunn was announced as appearing on 2/5 and 2/6 for Preston City Wrestling in the U.K.
