According to The Wrestling Observer, Kurt Angle has been pitching a deal to WWE officials which would see him return to the company and work a schedule similar to that of Shawn Michaels in his final years with the company.

The return deal would see Angle work limited dates and bigger events.

Despite Angle’s pitches, however, WWE is reportedly not very interested in Kurt Angle returning to the ring, and Vince McMahon has been very negative about an Angle return in the past. This doesn’t necessarily mean the company won’t bring him back, but WWE might be more interested in him returning similarly to how Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan have returned, which is not in an in-ring capacity.

The fact they made a specific announcement for Steen (and this was actually planned for last week, but the decision was made to hold it for the network launch, Steen actually signed months ago) tells you they are high on him. To show how high they are on him, reportedly Ambrose was told not to do Steen’s running cannonball into the corner move any longer, as they want it to be a new move for when Steen comes to the main roster

The problem with that move, beyond being stupid and dangerous, is that the "set-up" is too staged. The move took too long to set up and as a result, you can clearly see where the guy taking the move is getting into position etc. Just ends up looking too much like two guys working together, as opposed to a guy being hit with a move that he really doesn't wanna get hit with.

But as Dark One said, the standing ovation they received from seven people was awesome.

WWE’s Dean Ambrose to Star in Action Movie ‘Lockdown’ (EXCLUSIVE)

“Lockdown” will become the second action film that WWE Studios and Lionsgate will co-produce and release through their “six-pack” movie deal.

WWE star Jonathan Good, known in the ring as Dean Ambrose, will headline the film, to be directed by Stephen Reynolds (“Tomb Raider: Ascension”). Production starts this month.

Good, who made his debut on WWE’s main roster in 2012, has generated a major fan following after breaking out as a member of the group The Shield, and quickly proved his abilities on the mic and in story lines in and outside of the ring. WWE is now betting that he may be able to cross over into films, as well. “Lockdown” will be his first starring role in a movie.

Written by Nathan Brooks and Bobby Lee Darby (“See No Evil 2″), “Lockdown” follows a police officer who finds himself trapped inside his own precinct and hunted after crooked cops stop at nothing to recover incriminating evidence of illegal activities against those closest to him.

The film follows “Vendetta,” that stars the Big Show and is directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska (“See No Evil 2″), while “Leprechaun: Origins,” which Lionsgate is also distributing with a limited release in theaters before hitting homevideo platforms, was part of an earlier deal.

“Leprechaun: Origins” had initially been intended for direct to home entertainment platforms on Aug. 26, but will now also give the film a limited release in theaters on Aug. 22, after a presentation for the film was well received at Comic-Con in San Diego.

“Lockdown will continue to energize and excite with the high level of adrenaline our fans have come to expect from our films,” said WWE Studios president Michael Luisi.

The list of movies Lionsgate and WWE have produced together is now growing considerably after starting with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin-starrer “The Condemned,” as well as horror pic “See No Evil.”

The six new action films are meant to showcase WWE talent in starring roles and help incubate new talent, WWE and Lionsgate said when making the deal in May.

Lionsgate sparked to the idea of being able to market the movies to WWE’s fanbase that watches its weekly TV shows and pay-per-views, as well as visits its websites and subscribes to its digital network.

“We’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with WWE Studios, whose prowess in marketing to their global fan base delivers a consistent track record of commercial success,” said Lionsgate co-chief operating officer and motion picture group president Steve Beeks.

WWE Studios also released horror entry “Oculus,” this summer, together with Relativity and Jason Blum, and a direct-to-homevid “Scooby-Doo” movie set at “WrestleMania” with Warner Home Video.

How about using William Regal as a manager for him? Regal made me care about Ezekiel Jackson and even heel Vladimir Kozlov once upon a time. Regal is such a good talker and performer that it'd be a joy to look forward to his segments each week, and the interactions between an old villain and young, overly cheery personality would have an interesting dynamic. Regal could bring out a darker side in Bo, which is obviously meant to be there in the character, but is inconsistently focused on.

Get Bo to start using the Regal Stretch as a finishing move and wearing Regal-style "Villain" trunks with "Bolieve" written on the back. He can even debut the Power of the Punch down the line.

If anyone has read Bret Hart's book he tells a great story about Jim Neidhart no-showing and giving one of the best stories\lies\excuses to Gorilla Monsoon. Apparently he had no showed and gone missing for a few days. When asked about it when he arrived at the arena he told Monsoon that he was on the way to the next town a few days ago and ran over a cat. He went to pick the cat up as he couldn't leave this poor defenseless cat on the road. He said it scratched the hell out of him and he woke up that night sweating and feeling really ill. He said he had been in hospital for the last few days, was at deaths door and had only just been cleared to wrestle. On his way to the ring Monsoon asked what the hospital had said was wrong with him. He replied " Cat Scratch Fever....Cat Scratch Fever"

Who can forget his awesome heel turn in 1997. WCW had Wright wrestle in several tag team matches with what some might call sub-par tag team partners. Wright and the rotating list of wrestlers he had as partners would usually lose to tougher teams. And ironically, though Wright was still popular on the television programs WCW Pro and WCW Saturday Night, he was losing popularity, and even getting booed by some fans, on Monday Nitro and on some pay-per-views. Some believe that these two things combined began to frustrate Wright. On the May 12, 1997 edition of Nitro, Wright partnered with Ice Train against Konan and Hugh Morrus of the Dungeon of Doom. When Ice Train needed some help, Wright claimed to be unable to continue due to a sudden, unexplainable knee injury and left Ice Train to wrestle the other two opponents by himself. Wright was then pushed as a heel in the summer of 1997. On the July 28 edition of Nitro, he defeated Chris Jericho to win the Cruiserweight Championship. After winning the title, Wright began a feud with Jericho at that point, including a successful title defense against Jericho at Road Wild, before dropping the title back to Jericho on August 16 edition of Saturday Night. However, five days later, he defeated Último Dragón on the August 21 edition of Clash of the Champions to win the World Television Championship.Wright was able to successfully defend the TV title against Lord Steven Regal on an episode on Monday Nitro. Though Regal was also a heel, the fans disliked Wright so much, they often cheered or rooted for Regal during the match.

Rogers Communications in cable has addressed some of the issues with the WWE Network, or WWE Net Pak, in Canada on their platform. Rogers representatives are telling customers that what they're offering is not meant to be the full WWE Network and there will be just 30 to 40 hours of on-demand content available on a regular basis. Rogers is apparently working on bringing an app to the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission that would make the full Network available to their customers. They are also working with other TV providers to try and offer Net Pak across Canada as they provide service to a small part of the country. Regarding other issues, Rogers representatives say they are working out kinks and hope to have everything running smooth within a week. There is some concern that tonight's WWE SummerSlam feed on Net Pak will not be available in proper HD due to the HD channel being shown in standard-definition width.

While it was reported that TNA's move to Wednesday nights on Spike TV was permanent, Dave Meltzer reports that there is no new deal between Spike TV and TNA. It was said that this isn't a reason for TNA fans to celebrate. Another issue going around TNA is the mystery of Bound For Glory, scheduled to take place on October 12th from Tokyo, Japan. There have been no Bound For Glory mentions on TV recently, no hype for the event in Japan and there were very little mentions or references to Bound For Glory at the most recent set of Impact Wrestling tapings. Word is that no one backstage knows what's going on either.

With TNA taping enough footage to carry them through September 25th earlier this month, F4WOnline reports that the idea is to wait and see how bad Davey Richards' broken leg is before making any decision about what to do with The Wolves and their TNA Tag Team Titles.

So weird. I hadn’t perused this thread in ages, and was just going to say that the Divas division could really benefit from Kaitlyn returning, which will probably never happen, but we can all dream, eh?

I think if they didn't mess her around near the end (which pushed her closer to quitting, to focus on her clothing brand) and put more focus and thought into matches and storylines in the Divas Division, instead of making Total Divas the centre of the division, she would have stayed, and we would currently have a very interesting Divas Division that would consist of Kaitlyn, AJ, Natalya, Tamina, Layla, Emma, Naomi and sure why not, Paige.

Instead, we currently have Paige vs AJ going what looks to be back and forth, while The Bella Twins (which has just occurred to me that they're "the stars" of Total Divas) get a main event-esq storyline with the boss and her husband Triple H. The rest of the Divas are doing absolutely nothing at all.

I long for the days of the 2002-2006 Divas Division. Back then, you could tell the writers actually cared about it.
