According to Jinder on a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, he wasn't originally meant to be an anti-American character for his WWE title push. The original promo where he won the #1 contendership was very different and meant to tie into his old gimmick in order to transition to a new Jinder.

Instead Vince wanted the promo and character changed at the last minute to be another anti-American gimmick. Jinder initially didn't like the changes but realized afterwards it did help draw a lot of heat for his character.

WWE already making some changes to the Women's Tournament at least in regards to a competitor according to the Observer.

"Hojo was given the word that she has to come up with a new finisher. A lot of people questioned that. Hojo has the coolest looking elbow off the top rope in pro wrestling, probably the best since a young ICW-era Randy Savage. She was told that’s Bayley’s move. To those in Japan, it’s considered ridiculous because that’s the move she’s known for, but it’s a different world.

Also according to the Observer, Summer Rae is currently in an Emma-like situation where she's been healed for a while but Creative still has no legit plans for her.

According to the Observer, WWE is currently open to the idea of possibly bringing Mauro Ranallo back to Smackdown even if the odds of it actually happening are slim to none.

For what it's worth, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there are still open lines of communication in regards to WWE possibly bringing Mauro Ranallo back to SmackDown commentary.

This does not mean that Mauro will be returning, but The Observer notes that there is a lot of water under the bridge. There was an agreement reached where WWE is paying Mauro until his contract ends on August 12th.

Mauro has indicated on Twitter that he will be pretty busy with Showtime Boxing and other non-wrestling commitments over the next few months. He's also teased possibly doing other pro wrestling work in the future.

Alvarez is saying he was told it's a work. Someone came up with the idea that Scott Dawson comes out to replace him, which would be fucking awesome. Then you can have a Ciampa/Gargano feud when Ciampa gets jealous.

Seems like they could both do elbow drops without it being "confusing"...... If Hojo does it to the back of the head all the time too, that "sets it apart".... along with her "going limp and letting her legs fly up", makes it seem totally different.......

Could go in a slightly more comedic route and have Oney Lorcean replace Ciampa with Gargano acting as if nothing is different. Ciampa becomes very insulted and the turn still happens.

DIY already pulled the gag off once during last year's NXT voting contest but this time DIY not winning the belts again helps trigger Ciampa's heel turn.

Well, it Bayley's elbow drop is really Savage's. Let's not lose sight of that.

Except her elbow doesn't look anywhere as good as Savage's OR Hojo's and Hojo is having a "signature move" taken away from her as a result.

In addition, please see below.

Hideo Itami's time in the WWE might be running out based on Triple H's NXT media call today.

Itami's current push might be his last big one in NXT before the WWE makes a decision on his future in the company.

Also Ciampa's injury was revealed to just be a sprain and no broken bones. Tag title ladder match for tomorrow's Takeover is still happening.

Rumor going around the net is All Japan Pro Wrestling's Kento Miyahara could be the next star from Japan getting signed by the WWE not counting the Women's Tournament.

William Regal was at AJPW's event earlier today and Miyahara dropped his Triple Crown championship which fueled some speculation.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned WWE officials are planning to announce a women’s Money in the Bank match for next month’s event … and if all goes accordingly, we’ll be getting the first of it’s kind.

Sources tell us the SmackDown brand pay per view will not only feature the men’s MITB, but as it currently stands they’re planning to announce a women’s match as well in the next few weeks.

Thats right, 2017 is more than likely going to feature the inaugural Women’s Championship briefcase.

No word yet on participants, or if there is any added stipulations, but the fact they are having this match alone is just another large step forward in women’s equality in WWE.

This past October WWE stepped up and featured not only the first ever women’s Hell In A Cell, but also the first ever women’s PPV main event. And just this past Wrestlemania, #givesdwomenachance ended up moving those wrestlers from the pre-show to the main card.

According to the Observer, current obstacle in the Broken gimmick talks between the WWE and Impact Wrestling is Impact refusing to sell the gimmick to the WWE.

Impact is only willing to license the gimmick to the WWE (and others) and are still demanding royalties. WWE wants all or nothing which is why talks recently stopped. Only way WWE might be interested again is if Matt Hardy wins the legal case against Impact/Anthem and then sells the gimmick to the WWE.

Nah he's tried a few "out there" gimmicks on the indies but not Broken Matt. He created it but TNA were the platform it debuted on.

And TNA are saying that his contract says that TNA owns any characters or gimmicks that appear on their show.

Had Matt worked the gimmick on the indies he could argue for prior use rights.

Seems to be a mix of nobody trademarked the gimmick while it was happening in Impact and like BrotherVito said, Impact pulling a WWE by claiming any gimmick/character used on their shows belongs to them. According to the sheets, trademarks only started getting filed around March.

WWE had a similar problem with Ryback recently in regards to the character which is why they tried to have his trademark filing rejected after he left and Ryback legally changing his name to fight back.

They don't want to start possible SummerSlam stuff early nor have any real idea on what to do in the meantime so they went the lazy route with meaningless stuff going on right now.

The reason that there are so many multiple person matches being booked is that right now the booking is slow. They have plans to heat things up in July and August for SummerSlam and know where they want to go, but really don’t have a lot of ideas for right now, so they’re just using multiple person matches to fill the time

End result is the hits RAW and Smackdown in general have been taking with viewers and ratings these past few weeks.

Yeah the trend itself is not new, just it being the usual sign of when the WWE gives up and rather just wait till they get closer to a big event/phase to start meaningful stuff. Seen bad when its not happening during their down period or with too many shows in a row.

PWI had an article recently about a similar issue when trying to explain WWE's recent struggles. One of the topics focused on WWE's booking and their bad habit of wasting a lot of time that could have been used for trying more new ideas or building up people better.

After the K-9 officer picked up a hit, Waltman was then taken to a secondary screening area where a search of his bags revealed what was believed to be 15 white meth/amphetamines pills, 23 multi-colored meth/amphetamines pills, 2 THC liquid cigarettes, 56 THC capsules and 3 Cannabis Chocolate Bars. Given that Waltman told them he was slated to return to Los Angeles on 5/1, the officers made the determination that the amount of pills exceeded the "amount any person can consume" in that time period. The officers then decided that the narcotics, plus the $736.10 Waltman was carrying were evidence of "narcotics sales."

Waltman had publicly denied that he was back to using drugs beyond marijuana (which, at the levels Waltman had in his possession, is legal in the State of California) or was selling narcotics. Waltman stated the pills were to treat a yeast infection. When the test results revealed the pills were not meth, the decision was made to drop the charges.

She has a similar problem Nia Jax has in the sense of having different directions going on at the same time and/or the wrestler not fitting with the idea they want.

They've done a few videos trying to show her more in an underdog or sympathetic light but it clashes with her entrance and stuff hyped about her.

Nia has a similar problem where they try to portray her as a beast because of her size but Nia doesn't really come off as being intimidating or someone who'd be more comfortable in a different role.

I was so disappointed when she talked for the first time, and sounded like a normal woman. Everything about her look, wrestling style, and entrance screams for a character with mystique. Something to match Asuka's own mystique.

WWE cancels NXT Live Event at Manchester Arena

From previous reports and speculation that leaned towards the view of Jinder push being not something thought as long term or big star making by the WWE. Not just the Observer had similar views about Jinder's push.

His push also coincided with Impact's upcoming India tour and WWE likely wanting to steal as much focus away from it and Impact's attempt to grow their market.

Give Jinder a chance. Not sure why everyone is so surprised by this. He was in the finals of the tournament to crown the first NXT champion, so it's not like they haven't had high hopes for him before. Sure his jobber work was whatever, but look at the man now. He's differently motivated. He was FIRED from this company not too long ago, and now he sits atop it as champion. He has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. I think Jinder is going to be awesome. I'll at least be looking at it.

Apparently Billy Corgan's attempt to buy NWA hit a big snag and all because someone forgot to check to see if NWA trademarks were still active during talks.

Turns out they were not.

Multiple sources have told PWInsider.com that the deal is described as "in jeopardy" due to issues regarding the transfer of the existing copyrights and trademarks for the National Wrestling Alliance.

PWInsider.com research indicates that the copyright and trademark on the brand name lapsed last year with his International Wrestling Corp, LLC applying for it again on March 30th of this year. The trademark has not been officially assigned, theoretically making it impossible for them to be transferred to Corgan.

JB/Matthews feud has been entertaining just for the lies that Josh spews outs every week but Steiner returned and didnt get any time on the mic last week, which disappointed me a bit.

And I'll straight up say it:

If Okada vs. Omega is 6 Stars, Okada vs. Suzuki should be 7. A much better match in terms of psychology, story telling, and drama. Okada comes out looking like a tough son of a bitch. Suzuki comes out, even in defeat, looking like a monster who took the champion to the limit. Gedo even had an amazing role in it, seriously contemplating throwing in the towel.

And with Jim Ross calling it? Holy shit was I invested.

Indie promotion WWN currently dealing with online backlash after one of the wrestlers contacted for upcoming shows had photos revealed on social media of him giving the Nazi salute and being friends with a known white power musical band.

Making things worse for WWN was their streaming provider got involved because they felt WWN was hesitating too much on making an official decision. FloSports pretty much gave the ultimatum of get rid of the wrestler or have their feed get cut during all matches involving the wrestler.

The inclusion of Shlak, who has worked for CZW and is competing in their Tournament of Death next week in Delaware, led to immediate complaints on social media, as fans had uncovered photos of him posing with white power band members and a photo of him giving a Nazi salute. WWN's Gabe Sapolsky (who is Jewish) immediately stated he wasn't aware of the situation and was going to investigate. In speaking to PWInsider.com, Sapolsky said that Shlak had been booked based on multiple recommendations and was going to drive down to the event as part of a contingent traveling together from the Northeast. Before Sapolsky had a chance to investigate the situation, however, Flosports (which has a deal with WWN to stream their events as part of their subscription service) informed the promotion that they had received complaints as well and would not be allowing Shlak's matches to be streamed on their service. All of this led to the promotion unbooking him. As you might imagine, Sapolsky wasn't happy about this scenario taking place at all.
