I never watched the third season of NXT, so I'm starting now. This is fucking hilariously stupid. I might finish this whole thing tonight.

Yeah the season was pretty great for the amount of comedic moments but also pretty terrible in hind sight from the non-stop trashing of the all-female cast by Cole and WWE making it obvious they barely cared about the season. Cole really comes off as the worst person involved the longer the season goes on.

Think only Redemption was treated worse during its seasonal phase.

This league (and XFL v2) will only succeed if it ends up being a feeder/minor league system to the NFL. If they try to target the same type of market Vince wants, its going to fail miserably. Thiel being involved is also a big red flag though considering some of his views and rep.

Shame for the WWE since that valuable Vince-free period is gone or a lot shorter now. Triple H's side probably needs at least 1-2 years to do all the key changes and stuff in order to move away from the Vince era.

Probably one of the most unintentionally hilarious entrances ever. Tokyo Dome 2007. Mutoh returns to NJPW to team with Chono at the Tokyo Dome. They even created a really good mash up of their themes.

Felt in the mood to watch something random for wrestling so I picked out Mania 24 from my small wrestling collection.

Forgot how terrible the Hornswoggle as Vince's son angle was and early HD era being a bit of a mess for the WWE in terms of not figuring out how to move their logo to the side of the screen.

Think its the MitB match or the match after it that gets some light rain due to how bad the weather was for the early part of the event.

:lol: at the Snoop Dogg & Festus skit at Mania 24. Kind of funny how Playboy was one of WWE's biggest sponsors for years and then got abruptly dropped once Mattel became the biggest sponsor for the WWE.

Umaga was easily the best Monster character the WWE had since early era Kane. Also one of the rare monster characters who actually stayed relevant after losing his first major feud.

No matter how many times I've seen it before, HBK-Flair is still an amazing match to watch. HBK's 2nd run was fantastic for the amount of amazing Mania matches he had.

On the inverse, the BunnyMania match is still bad. Snoop's stuff might have been longer than the match itself. Snoop's throne was the best part of the whole thing and I should probably invest some of TPWW's royal treasury into getting one as well.

Still have the same feelings about the WWE title Triple Threat match. Match itself was good but didn't care for it back than and didn't care about it now.

Mayweather vs Big Show is arguably Big Show's best ever Mania match. Had no reason at all to be as good as it was in the end. Also pretty funny this Mania supposedly made one of the least amount of money ever in Mania history when considering the rumored amount WWE spent to get Mayweather.

Random fact. Since WM 13 I have witnessed every Wrestlemania live on PPV or The Network with the exception of WM 20 and WM 29. Both years I was too busy and lost interest in WWE around WM season. I just put on WM 29 to watch. The thing is, I've never really been able to sit through either show without falling asleep. So anyway, here goes with 29.

According to the Observer, WWE is still working on plans for an eventual UK division to happen. They also have plans for a new Performance Center to open in the region.

In regards to a potential tv show, still not happening any time soon and the big reason is due to ITV looking more likely they won't be restarting their World of Sport project. Without ITV's competition, WWE has no motivation to speed things up with the UK stuff.

There's a lot of movement going on behind-the-scenes when it comes to the often-delayed U.K. project. WWE does have a date booked in December in Margate, Kent and may have others. It should be noted that they've had a lot of dates booked for U.K. TV tapings and have canceled them quietly. However, they have renewed all the key contracts of the U.K. guys. The "big five," which they consider as Trent Seven, Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Wolfgang and Mark Andrews were believed to have gotten better deals, in at least one case from $20,000 a year to $50,000. They also just signed Zack Gibson, and it was for the U.K. project and not for NXT. The idea is still to do tapings and run a U.K. based promotion, and eventually open a training center with the idea of bringing U.K. trainers to Florida (like Johnny Moss already did) to teach them how WWE wants people trained and have them run it ...

In the U.K. dressing rooms the word has been passed around that Joe Coffey has signed a U.K. deal, but Coffey himself has personally denied it. The problem is the immediate counter is that he has to say that until WWE announces it, but as a story, this has already spread in different places

According to PWI, WWE is in serious talks again with Hogan for a possible return to the company.

If they seriously bring him back publicly, WWE is even dumber than before since they would have learned nothing from the Moolah mess. Also wouldn't be surprised if Vince gets revealed as the main person responsible again since he's been the biggest supporter of wanting Hogan back since his departure.

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan last appeared for World Wrestling Entertainment in July 2015, but that could soon change.

PWInsider.com has learned that conversations are underway for Hogan, 64-years old, to return to the company. Discussions began several weeks ago.

There is no word yet as to what role Hogan could play for the company should the two sides come to terms. The obvious guess would be an authority role for the Smackdown brand. It fits logically, given that Shane McMahon has taken a “leave of absence” from his role as Smackdown Live’s storyline Commissioner and Daniel Bryan is returning as a pro wrestler, but that’s just a guess.

It could simply be Hogan is returning to resume his former duties as an ambassador for the company. Wrestlemania is coming and as nonsensical as it sounds, Braun Strowman needs a partner. WWE is also lining up tons of major names for the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. Hogan would certainly fit in as a major addition there. There will always be a need for star power to mine for future DVD and WWE Network projects. Hogan fits into all those scenarios and many more.

WWE, in responding to a PWInsider request for comment, issued the following statement:

“"We have had discussions with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan) about how he can help others learn from his mistakes, however, he is not under any contract with WWE."

Shitty company all round.

They posted a statement on their website (which no longer exists outside of a front page) and emailed all the talent very close to the date cancelling the entire tour of bookings and citing that reason. Not even sure if any of the shows were even supposed to be in Manchester. In reality they didn't sell enough tickets to cover the huge losses they were taking. Lots of UK guys were very open / pissed off about it on twitter.

Signed up for AJPW TV. AJPW was on death's door a few years ago when Jun Akiyama bought it and started rebuilding. Dug themselves out of their hole and word is they put on a really good product now. AJPW TV is their streaming service. At the moment they only have events from 2017 but more will be added in the future.

Unfortunately, the 90's AJPW footage is owned by tv station N+, so it likely won't be on the site.

Still trying to understand the point of the UK Title and the new N American Title in NXT

I get the new American title in NXT , with the recent expansions on the roster it gives more guys something to work with , more meaningful feuds. For example would have been a great idea to try it out on Lars Sullivan , see how how well he works as a champ before he goes for the main title.

The UK title has been kept around whilst the WWE get their house in order over what is happening with their UK expansion but I'm with you if it's not gonna happen soon then get rid of it. Their main 5 guys are good enough to be on the NXT roster without the need of a title.

I have no problem with more titles but it'd make alot more sense to have women's tag titles if the shows weren't split.

Or, if the women's roster and the tag-team division were confined to one show each. Men on Raw, Women on SD. Make the Smackdown belts the Women's Tag. Deepen the tag roster by having it on one show and actually USE the goddamn teams they have instead of the holding pattern on top of the potential new recruits waiting down in Florida on top of teams waiting around like War Machine.

As for UK/N.American title, I think the NA is just supposed to be strictly the NXT midcard strap, and the UK championship, sad to say, is just a prop. If they actually had plans for some sort of UK only division/show/promotion, it would make more sense, but again, it seemed like a ploy just to get their hands on talent and foot in a door they don't really have big plans for (similar to how Jinder was just supposed to be a magic bullet for India because reasons), but it kinda stops other places from being as big if all the best talent and specific venue is under WWE contract. Also seems kinda weird that Pete Dunne can kinda go anywhere and do whatever the fuck he wants in spite of being a WWE branded champion. Pretty fucking awesome, but still weird.

I don't like the idea of the NA title on NXT. Like, why? The UK Title I sort of got, because it was going to be its own show and just never took off, but Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate have been killing it in the eyes of people, so why scrap it? But yeah, champions should be the champion of something. Being the champion of NXT's mid-card is just ridiculous.

Not really in terms of box office power or star rise considering Rock became a big success very early while it took Cena years to get out of the Direct-to-DVD shadow and show potential as a possible big box office star. Rock did have a slump for a few years but once he got out of it, he shot up to the top as a box office power.

The real surprise has been Batista since in a span of 3 years, he's been in Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2, Spectre, and Blade Runner 2049. Plus he has Avengers: Infinity War coming out very soon.
