Apparently Vince's recent comments about WWE staying "PG" and smearing AEW as being a "blood and guts" wrestling company has a historical precedence with TNT.

Not only did his comments piss off TNT, who thought he was going after their advertisers, it was based on a similar tactic he pulled on WCW right when they were becoming a serious threat to WWF.

WWE might have topped ROH for worst fan related incident of the year.

In ROH's case it was a fan who allegedly was being verbally abusive towards female wrestlers and Bully Ray demanding security bring him backstage for a private chat that could have turned sour for ROH.

In WWE's case, it involved a fan at a recent NXT house show giving a Nazi salute to a German wrestler, which predictably pissed off the wrestler. Instead of the fan getting tossed out, NXT officials had a chat with him backstage and let him return to his seat. Managed to piss off a good chunk of the crowd and the wrestlers backstage.

Might just be a YouTube thing. Works well for MLW but they also have bein Sports. I don't think they are intending on working with anyone at the moment, maybe still with Championship Wrestling from Hollywood.

Them sticking with Nick Aldis as their top star has been a really dumb decision. He should have been a transitional champ at best instead of someone you'd actually build a brand or company around.

Cody's reign being very brief was also really dumb since that killed off all the interest in the NWA belt generated from All In. They didn't even have a backup plan in place for ROH's MSG show after Cody left to form AEW.

Seems ROH's upcoming UK tour is on track to sell just as poorly as their US shows this year based on recent ticket sales.

As of yesterday morning, the combine total for all three events in the UK this October were 224 tickets sold with their London show doing the best at 92 tickets sold (venue holds 1200).

People rip on Impact (and rightfully so), but the crowds at their tapings are awesome. They tape in my city and both times that I went to a taping it was a riot. Had so much fun and the crowd was loud. They fit 1500 in our local college gym. Tickets sold really well.

I highly recommend this weeks Impact which they taped in my city. Check those crowds out.

Basis for the rumor is ticket sales for both events are still very abysmal with the MSG show being way short of 1,000 tickets sold as of mid-July and the company hasn't tweeted anything about either show since late June.

Also Fite.TV doesn't have the MSG show currently listed on their schedule despite AAA previously announcing them as the streaming provider for the show.

Highly entertaining segment. Bill was like Bruce Willis in Die Hard, amazing character and I hope they push him through Elias at a Saudi show and have him on a winning team at Survivor Series to build him up against Drew Mac at Mania.

AJ vs Ricochet ****

So good for a 13 minute match with a brilliant finish. Finally the bout between these two that we needed. I'm sure there will be more, probably a ladder match or something cool.

Bailey vs Moon ** 1/2

Solid match both are really good workers especially Bailey but Moon has amazing spots. Solid for 10 minutes.

Owens vs Shane *** 1/2

Totally entertaining and well done WWE smash match. I enjoyed it a lot, it has moments that will make you laugh and moments that keep you on the edge of your seat. Great storytelling even though the Shane story isn't one that I love, they are telling it well.

Charlotte vs Trish ****

Probably the best match of Trish's career. Had some slow spots but only for a bit, the rest was so good and Charlotte is a brilliant worker... truly the female equivalent of her dad.

Kofi vs Randy **

Very solid Orton match, nothing spectacular except the spectacularly bad finish. I give two because they were able to do a decent 16 minutes but the finish was shit.

The Feind vs Finn *** 1/2

Tough to rate. By far one of the best parts of the show. The match was perfect for what it was, Finn was perfect, Feind was AMAZING. So AAA. But then the match came off like a NJPW struggle. Fucking awesome how good Bray can be. This gimmick could be the next big thing in a way we've never seen. He could be the baby face Psycho Clown type for WWE I think.

Brock vs Rollins ****

Awesome match, brilliantly laid out by the WWE agents or whomever. That is one thing about this show, the producing of the matches seemed top notch even if the build for all of them was pretty bad. Great culmination of this feud that has went on for many years. I don't mind that at all, the long term booking. Great finish here, cathartic moment for The Universe.

WWE caught a big break after New Japan announced Royal Quest won't air live on New Japan World so it likely won't be as impactful against NXT UK's show.

You know... it has taken me several weeks/months of not watching WWE to really appreciate how "nauseating" their camera movements are. I haven’t been excited about anything in the WWE for years, but The Fiend is amazing. So please forgive me in advance for the fantasy booking post:

Brock Lesnar goes on a complete tear in the fall and winter since losing the Universal Title. Very aggressive, nasty, and more vicious. He enters the Royal Rumble and is the favorite.

Meanwhile another entrant in the Rumble is Bray Wyatt (not The Fiend, since Bray has no idea that he is actually The Fiend). Bray enters himself into the Rumble and is motivated to be a winner and repent his sins that he committed as the former Bray Wyatt years ago. He wants to become WWE Champion to erase that memory.

During the Rumble, Brock is cleaning house and killing people. Shockingly, Bray eliminates Lesnar. Brock freaks out, a few chair shots and puts Bray through an announce table.

Soon after, Bray airs some FireFly Funhouse segments and the theme is how mean Brock is. He ends up challenging Brock to a one on one contest, so that he can prove that bullies and poor sportsmanship never win.

At the Elimination Chamber, Brock beats Bray in a few minutes. As Bray is getting to his feet, Brock comes back to the ring and absolutely destroys Bray. Coughing up blood, stretcher job (similar to the Rollins beatdown but worse).

A few weeks later, Bray comes back in the FireFly Funhouse, and he begins building The Fiend, and that The Fiend is coming for Brock at WrestleMania.

When AEW was announced, one of the weird and “dirty” Vince things I could see WWE doing was work with New Japan. I sort of gave up on that crazy idea, but with WWE having talks with CMLL, it would not completely astound me to hear that something happens there.

Would WWE be fine sending Rollins in on a gruelling schedule where he's going to be exposed as not being on the level of the top New Japan guys just to have him pick up 4 wins and 5 losses? Why send a low card act like Cesaro? He might go over a Makabe, Kojima or a Fale and have some great matches with Ishii / Okada / Tanahashi / take your pick, but does that spot make any sense over the dozen New Japan exclusive guys who can't even get in the G1? What's even the end goal there? Cesaro just goes back to doing nothing matches at 25% of his ability?

Keep WWE as far away from New Japan as possible, thanks.

End goal for New Japan is to increase the number of people who hear about New Japan. Working with a bigger promotion does that. Would Okada look good on WWE television? I can understand the fear there, but that’s a different issue.

WWE’s goal would be to prevent a New Japan/AEW working agreement. It also allows them to get their talent exposed in a context that the AEW audience admires, creating potential fab movements around certain talent. Having WWE talent involved in the best critical matches gives them bragging rights and interrupts AEW momentum. Do I like it? Not from the perspective where I want AEW to succeed, but I don’t think WWE cares about that.

While Vince makes all his guys look like they're not special and books them poorly on his own shows, he still makes sure they are treated as "better" than anyone in any other company they're working with. Example, Pete Dunne being dominant and undefeated for a year all over the indies but needing to cheat to beat chickenshit punch bag Enzo Amore. Vince wants his "own" guys to look like they piss all over everyone else. No way he let's Tomohiro Ishii get a clean pin on his boy.

There is a rumor that WWE is going to split their Performance Center again to create a new developmental system.

Right now, WWE's developmental system is pretty much 3 divisions:
* PC - all the raw and new talent
* NXT (non-TV) - everyone who does NXT house show tours but are not tv ready or rarely appear on NXT TV

There is a rumor that WWE is going to split their Performance Center again to create a new developmental system.

Right now, WWE's developmental system is pretty much 3 divisions:
* PC - all the raw and new talent
* NXT (non-TV) - everyone who does NXT house show tours but are not tv ready or rarely appear on NXT TV
* NXT (proper) - television ready talent.

Non-TV NXT would become the new official developmental system instead of simply being the hidden part of NXT.

That is what I figure I'm just seeing so much Evolve crossover I feel they will start to identify as a development, and I think it would be good considering they have an audience already. WWE can just start sending those who they'd send to NXT TV to Evolve, and when they are ready at Evolve they get the call up to Raw, NXT or Smackdown.

Two recent rumors going around the net regarding backstage stuff in WWE.

The first being that CFO$ might have recently left the company. Basis for the rumor is the lack of their music appearing in recent WWE releases on iTunes and elsewhere. Also a lot of people in NXT UK are still using stock music for themes.

The second being more rumblings of 205 Live ending this year and very likely in October when the new tv contracts take effect. Might be the reason behind both Kalisto and Gran Metalik's recent tweets of them leaving the company once their current contracts expire since they know their tv time is going to get cut back by a lot.

Apparently Stephanie McMahon had another tone deaf moment on Twitter recently involving her trying to bring awareness to the lack of women representation in sports media.

Predictably it caused a bunch of complaints revolving around her hypocrisy of demanding others improve the status of women in their field of employment while ignoring WWE's own poor treatment of their women's division, especially in terms of quality screen time.

Fightful did some math (not the Steiner type) to find out if the complaints were justified and only dating back to the Evolution PPV (October). Turns out WWE's women's division lost over 2 hours of total screen time since Ronda left and Smackdown being the worst brand for women in terms of screen time percentage.

If CFO$ is out for making entrance themes I feel like they're going to go back to that weird period around 2000 where they were using real music or getting real bands do music for themes. On one hand most of CFO$'s themes were great, on the other hand they suck to listen to since they all loop after a short period of time

Don't know anything about the group's work pre-WWE but their problems in WWE were pretty much twofold.

The first issue being WWE putting a bigger priority on themes fitting great as ringtones around the same time mobile phones started to become a mainstream craze. Shorter themes is also why WWE eventually scaled down the size of the ramp and time for entrances.

The other issue being WWE's constant splurging of signings meant CFO$ had to crank out themes at a faster pace than Jim Johnston ever had to worry about which meant less time spent working per theme and the hit on quality as a result.

The Mounties "SHOCK STICK" was always amusing, had a different dubbed in sound effect every other week. His original one just seemed to be a tube with a switch wrapped in red and yellow tape, the upgraded one seemed to actually function as you could see the electric bouncing between the prongs when he would use it in promos.
