Is that what you think they're going for? I'm asking that genuinely, because it is such a weird promotional angle.

It doesn't make sense in kayfabe. The goal of wrestling shouldn't be to have a "great match." I guess you could call Hogan vs. Andre a "great match" in terms of that promotional tact, so maybe they're going for that, but why Edge and Orton? Like, even if you like both guys and take their careers in kayfabe, it's still not, like, "the biggest" or a dream match. And it does sound like it's setting them up for failure. You don't set up a joke by saying it is going to be the funniest thing you've ever heard in your life, and you don't set up a wrestling match by promising quality. You present it as something people want to see and let it unfold.

I'm honestly feeling like it doesn't happen. Or not in the way the WWE is leading you to believe. My first thought when I heard about it was that it's going to be a bait-and-switch or something. I'm expecting The Undisputed Era to crash it and attack both guys or something. Even so, it's still an awful and weird promotional tactic.

New wrestling biographical book based on Vince McMahon is currently in production with a potential 2022 release date.

There's a new book in the works that will cover the life and career of Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

The announcement of the new biography, titled "Ringmaster" came courtesy of the author, Abraham Reisman, in an Instagram post.

Abraham Reisman has experience writing about pop-culture’s great creators. His book, True Believer: The Rise and Fall of Stan Lee, is set to be released on September 29 of this year and will cover The Life and Times of the creator of Marvel Comics.

The book is set to be published in 2022 by Simon & Shuster. Vince McMahon has a lifetime of stories and according to numerous accounts throughout the years, many of them would have to be seen to be believed.

I've gone through phases where I thought a stable that addressed race issues could be interesting. But it'd just be too polarizing with so many racists in the US. Like, Kofi Kingston takes a knee on a SmackDown and half you yanks will boo the fuck out of him forever and a day.

It's not the right sort of heat to get. Even if you try to make them babyfaces, or heels that are only booed because they are assholes, and maybe have a few token white guys in there, haha. It's also got that flavor of exploitation that WWE takes a MASSIVE beating for when it comes to things like the Iraq situation in 1991, or Muhammad Hassan when the terrorist attacks happened. It's way too divisive an issue, and WWE are just not mature or nuanced enough (fuck I hate that word, but it actually fits here), to even think about attempting it. Yeah a per show type deal seems a lot more likely considering that's the type of deal Deonna Purrazzo currently has with them.

Could see EC3 and Maverick get regular contracts because of their past history and being known commodities for Impact. Everyone else gets per show deals that could become regular deals later assuming they stay.

Karl Anderson already teased before about wanting to go back to NJPW once things go back to normal there so a short term deal with Impact makes a ton of sense for now.

Fightful Select reported that Chelsea Green is slated to be called up to the main roster very soon. And that her being paired with Charlotte was meant to give her a boost before she debuts on the main roster. Add Lacey Evans to the growing pile of talent Vince once had high hopes for as a handpick top star only to lose all interest in the end.

We reported in 2019, Vince McMahon was very high on Lacey Evans and felt she could be one of the #1 women's stars in the company.

She did main event a PPV last year, challenging for Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Championship. However, she failed to capture the title.

In an update, it seems as if McMahon has changed his mind on Evans. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Vince McMahon’s opinion of Lacey has changed this year and he’s no longer high on her.

This can be seen in her PPV record in which she has had 10 PPV matches recently and lost all of them.

Apparently the on-going Jeff Jarrett vs. Anthem lawsuit over ownership of GFW somehow is also going to include an official ruling on wrestling being legally considered as a sport or as purely entertainment and none of that sports entertainment nonsense WWE's been spewing for decades.

Crenshaw also noted that whether the notion that professional wrestling is sport or entertainment for audiences has become the crux of one of Anthem’s claims for dismissal. One of the claims made against Anthem Wrestling by Jarrett and GFE is that the GFW Amped! Material being used violated The Tennessee Personal Rights Protection Act. Anthem has argued against this because sports broadcasts are exempt under Tennesee law.

Stating this “may be the most interesting genuine issue of material fact”, Crenshaw reviewed a number of previous legal cases that led to some sports stating professional wrestling falls under sport while others have decided it falls under entertainment.

As to where professional wrestling falls for this case, Crenshaw ruled:

“For its part, the Court has no hesitation in concluding that Greco-Roman wrestling – as reintroduced in Athens, Greece at the first modern Olympics in 1896, and as practiced by high school and college athletes in gymnasiums and auditoriums across the country – is a “sport.” Professional wrestling is different, of that there can be little doubt. Some of its mystery over the years has been due to professional wrestling’s penchant for “kayfabe”: In the world of wrestling, the portrayal of staged events as real – the suspension of disbelief that is central to the proceedings – is known as kayfabe. For decades, maintaining kayfabe was de rigueur: “babyfaces” (or “faces”) [good guys] and heels [villians] didn’t ride together or associate in public, and reporters got slapped for suggesting that wrestling was fake. The line between kayfabe and reality began to blur during pro wrestling’s popularity boom during the late ’90s, and these days – thanks to the omnipresence of social media, the sunshine of the internet, and the WWE’s forays into reality TV – kayfabe is effectively dead. While “kayfabe” may now be dead, the staged performances and elaborate personas are not. So, the jury will decide, at least for the scope of the lawsuit, whether professional wrestling is sport or entertainment.
