There is at least some talk of Roman Reigns vs. Triple H being held off until Night of Champions in September as a big match to push WWE Network renewals for the earliest subscribers, as the initial six-month commitment will be up around that time. If they do that, Reigns vs. Kane will be at Battleground in July with Reigns vs. Orton at SummerSlam in August.

Then again, as I was writing that, I got word of a possible swerve with Orton winning the title at Money in the Bank, leading to Orton vs. Reigns vs. John Cena at Battleground. That would be when Cena would win the title to set up Cena vs. Brock Lesnar and Orton vs. Reigns still happening at SummerSlam.

Tokyo Sports in Japan is reporting that WWE will officially announce that former Pro Wrestling NOAH star KENTA has signed with the company during their tour of Japan next month with a press conference on 7/12.

PWInsider.com reports that the feeling backstage amongst the wrestlers is that WWE officials are not in any hurry to bring Daniel Bryan back into the main event scene when he returns, noting that top level guys like John Cena and Triple H would never be brought back just to appear on a PPV pre-show (WWE announced last week that Bryan would return at Money in the Bank as part of the pre-show).

Some WWE officials apparently believe that Bryan's bubble has popped and that he got injured when WWE needed him the most. This has made some officials hesitant to throw him back in the main event scene when he returns. Many point to the fact that Bryan was originally scheduled to face Sheamus at WrestleMania and only was pushed because CM Punk quit.

There’s talk going around developmental that Graves is pretty much done as an in-ring performer and officials are trying to figure out another role in the company for him.

It appears local advertising for WWE's Battleground pay-per-view on July 20th in Tampa has leaked out a few days early. The two main events announced are Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins. Also advertised to appear are John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Kane, Rob Van Dam, Sheamus, Cesaro, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Bad News Barrett and Kofi Kingston.

The pre-show for WWE Money In the Bank will be available on Facebook, WWE.com and other outlets as a way to try and hook people to either subscribe to the WWE Network or buy the pay-per-view. Daniel Bryan's segment was put on the pre-show to try and get a big audience of non-buyers for the pre-show, and likely shoot an angle or do something with that time to try and get late buys.

We noted earlier this month via The Wrestling Observer that The Undertaker was still in rough shape after his WrestleMania XXX match against Brock Lesnar and that while Taker had been in the gym working out, he told some people that it wasn't looking good for WrestleMania 31. PWInsider confirms the report that Taker is still in bad shape and really banged up from suffering the concussion. Taker's status for next year is still up in the air and there will be no confirmation on it and when he will return until later this year.

WrestlingDVDNews.com reports that the single-disc "WWE: Brothers of Destruction" DVD for Kane and The Undertaker will be released in North America on September 2nd.

As noted, Randy Orton suffered a bad cut to the head at WWE Money In the Bank and needed 12 staples to close the wound. Word from backstage is that Orton may have injured his arm also.

When Big Show returns to WWE TV from filming WWE Studios' Vendetta, we could see him feud with Rusev.

As noted, Daniel Bryan appeared at Money In the Bank and said that he may have to have another surgery soon. If Bryan does have to go under the knife again, he could be out of action for as long as 6 months to 1 year.

As noted, WWE will be hosting a live contract signing with a top Japanese wrestler at their July 12th live event in Osaka, Japan. It's expected this will be the KENTA signing. Hulk Hogan and other WWE officials will be present for the in-ring signing.

Forbes had an report recently about the WWE and the idea of "what's best for business" when it comes to championship reigns the past several years.

The most interesting thing was Cena's reigns almost always cost the WWE money in the end while surprisingly Orton should be the actual reliable fallback option and "what's best for business." Punk's reign was way all over the place for them to make an actual claim about him.

There are two main, and very inter-related, reasons that it shouldn’t be very surprising that Cena won. First, in the ring Cena often plays the character of Guy Who Can’t Lose At Wrestling, which made him the odds-on favorite going into Sunday night. And secondly, he is a veritable goldmine for WWE, thanks to being the company’s biggest star among young fans, who in turn comprise a massive portion of WWE’s fan base. That latter reason would seem to explain why WWE slapped the championship on Cena just one month removed from a massive drop in share price, which cost head honcho Vince McMahon $750 million.

Cena is obviously important for WWE’s popularity and subsequent income, but I thought it would be fun to see just what sort of impact his having a title belt might actually have on the company’s bottom line. My look back on past trends is far from conclusive evidence, but it suggests that maybe Cena isn’t what’s best for WWE’s business.

For this year’s game, for 2015, it will be on four platforms instead of two and with new consoles this year, the feeling is it’s a big opportunity for increased numbers in 2015 (as well as 2016) so the idea was, since Rock is retired and not available, it was imperative this year to play the biggest hand for the most people, and the belief is that is Cena, not Bryan, in the sense he’s more known, and the people who are Bryan fans who hate Cena are going to buy the game anyway. The idea of 15th time and 2015 are not coincidence in the sense there was a plan for him to have another title run at some point when the game came out. Obviously, it was not this soon in planning, since Bryan was going to keep it at the very least through SummerSlam if he wasn’t injured. The decision for Cena ahead of Bryan on the cover was made long before Bryan was hurt and long before the decision was made for Bryan to even get the title at Mania.

Vince McMahon has reportedly ordered more major cuts for WWE. Apparently the cutbacks are working as WWE's losses for this year won't be nearly as large as they were expecting just a month ago. The latest number going around is into eight figures. There continues to be a lot of fear within WWE that there are major cuts coming besides the talent cuts and some production cuts that have already been done. As noted, the cuts are a result of WWE's new TV deal being announced and the increase in fees coming in much lower than WWE officials expected.

At about the same time, the shows Lomberger hosted were changed in a budget cutting measure. The pre-and-post-game shows before and after Raw were changed from being done at the arena to a studio setting. The shows before and after Smackdown were canceled. They also didn’t have a post-show or press conference for Money in the Bank, as they went from the end of the PPV, and started airing a replay of the PPV at 11 p.m. Renee Young is now hosting the shows they are still doing.

The decision was made to put the IC title that Barrett held up in a Battle Royal on the 7/20 Battleground PPV from Tampa.....At this point Cesaro appears to be the favorite since he’s the one regularly losing....Cesaro is still, along with Wyatt and Reigns, one of the three people the company is earmarking for top spots by WrestleMania, so the losses here aren’t supposed to move him down

Given that nothing has been mentioned and it would have started at this weeks’ television, it appears they [TNA] aren’t doing the Bound for Glory series this year to determine who gets the TNA title shot. Last year’s series where they essentially ran out of time long before everyone worked with everyone with the way it was set up, ended up a complete fiasco.

There were lots of people within WWE surprised about the firing of Emma, in comparison to other talents that didn't get released when their offenses were far worse. Regarding WWE bringing her back quickly, apparently the legal troubles of Jack Swagger and Cameron were brought up and how neither were fired. WWE faced a lot of criticism among fans for the release and that could have influenced their decision also.

There has already been talk of reuniting Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose as The Shield in late 2015 or 2016. The idea is that they could bring them back together every few years like DX.

Well, it's not that bad, but it seemed really simple to have him be this cool heel you wanted to see break away from Heyman and feud with Lesnar down the track. They seem to be neutering everything that makes him Cesaro. Heyman also seems handcuffed on the mic and is reduced to talking about Brock Lesnar instead of Cesaro.

I hope that we get Heyman offering Lesnar's services to The Authorty in order to get the WWE World Title off Cena at SummerSlam, and also offering up Cesaro as the man to keep Bryan away from the title. Those two matches at SummerSlam would rule it all. Why not have Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose team up to take on Seth Rollins & Randy Orton at the PPV too. I get they are trying to separate even Ambrose and Reigns, but the two forming an alliance for a big SummerSlam match could be a pretty cool thing.

I can forgive the WWE for not putting the WWE Title on Wade Barrett in 2010. I still think that the best booking for Survivor Series '10 with Barrett facing Orton for the WWE Title would have been Cena brutally attacking Wade Barrett. The stipulation was that Cena was referee, and if Barrett lost, Cena would be fired, but the Nexus was banned from ringside. I always said that having Cena attack Barrett, because his morality overwhelms his selfishness, would have made perfect sense. Barrett underestimates his virtues and ends up beaten down without the help of his allies.

Barrett could have then challenged Cena to a match at the December PPV (TLC, but I wish they had used a different name), where he orders the Nexus to stay in the back, because he wants to rip Cena apart himself. Barrett could have won that match cleanly, or won with Nexus aid (he's a heel after all). Build Barrett up for a strong showing in the Royal Rumble, where The Undertaker returns and makes it clear that he doesn't plan to let Barrett and the Nexus get away with burying him.

Having them lose at SummerSlam in their first "big" match was just a terrible idea...especially the ending where Cena went into full-on Superman mode, was down 2 on 1 against Barrett and Gabriel, got DDTed on the fucking concrete outside, and still shrugged it off with ease and won clean.

There has already been talk of reuniting Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose as The Shield in late 2015 or 2016. The idea is that they could bring them back together every few years like DX.

I really hope not..... that would be dumb as hell. They try to build solid singles out of all three just to bring them back later? Not saying the 1st reunion wouldn't be huge, because it would, but not every now and again over the course of a decade or two..... dumb.

Best case scenario still would have been a Nexus win though. Would have actually been cool if the match ended with Barrett and Gabriel as the survivors, just because EVERYBODY assumed it'd be Cena vs. Barrett one on one at the end. Cena fights valiantly for 10 minutes only to fall victim to the Wasteland/450 combo that Nexus used to finish all of their beatdowns.</font>

There weren't any dirt sheets saying that there were long term plans for any of those guys and they just did it to have a chaotic ending. But to me it almost seemed like they were trying to set up a second Nexus group, or have them be called "Genesis" or something and be on SmackDown, possibly setting up for a Nexus vs. Genesis feud once the build for the Rumble started like they wound up doing with Nexus vs. Corre.

Problem is the ending was such a disjointed mess. Guys totally out of place. Titus O'Neil completely no selling MVP's Driveby Kick. Eli Cottonwood completely disappearing as soon as the Pros got involved. Alex Riley attacking Percy Watson only to stand united with him minutes later. What the fuck? If there were plans for them to go to SmackDown as a group I totally get why they canned them after that segment.</font>
