Does anyone know where I can watch Vince's interview with Brian Pillman's widow?

I've heard so many bad things about it, but never actually seen it. Was just reading about the most distasteful promotional tactics in WWF and this is the one I missed.

Call it sick curiosity.

I don't think I've seen it since it aired and I haven't heard about any controversy surrounding it but I do remember it being really uncomfortable to watch. Can't remember why. It just seemed bizarre. I kinda wanna go back and watch it again too but I can't seem to find it anywhere online.

A quick Google search shows that there is no porn star by the name of Sasha Banks. Though it does sound like a porn star name, along with most of the other NXT women's names, as I've said here before.

My Google search has shown however, that there are porn stars named Briana Banks and Sasha Grey, so maybe that's why you were thinking she was a porn star.

Unless you were meaning the woman herself and not the name.

Didn't they have Davey Boy come out on Raw and blame someone for Pillman's death? Im pretty sure they made an angle out of it.

I have a vague memory of Triple H making a subtle reference to Vince being responsible for either his or Owen's death after Austin locked him in a room with a rattlesnake and he pretended to have been bitten by it. I don't remember the Davey Boy thing though.

I've read the interview was not even 24 hours after Pillman's death and Vince asked questions like "did you know about his addiction to pills" and "how do you plan to feed your children now that he's dead" so I guess there was some controversy, cause these sound like really shitty things to say to a grieving woman.

An interview with ex-WWE photo chief Tom Buchanan. Some interesting tales from the road, including Owen Hart's final plunge. Don't quite understand why the company would have only one full time employee handling the entire photo requirements.

we all know about the monday night wars of course.

However there was a big war between All Japan and New Japan at one point.

http://wiki.puroresu.com/New_Japan_Pro-Wrestling#Promotional_War

New Japan and All Japan were having a promotional war, in which both groups took gaijin stars from each other. Tiger Toguchi, who was at the time the third star of All Japan, Dick Murdoch, and All Japan's top heel Abdullah the Butcher jumped to New Japan in 1981. Later in the year, the fans saw two top gaijin stars of New Japan, Tiger Jeet Singh and Stan Hansen, in All Japan. All Japan also took the British Bulldogs, Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith in 1984, and New Japan took Bruiser Brody the following year.

While the promotional war was taking place, the importance of the gaijin talents declined. The triangle feud between New Japan (Inoki, Sakaguchi, Fujinami, Tiger Mask, etc.), the former IWE wrestlers (Rusher Kimura, Animal Hamaguchi, & Isamu Teranishi), and Kakumeigun (Masa Saitō, Riki Chōshū , Killer Khan, & Kuniaki Kobayashi) was the hottest thing around this time.

However, after few years of what was probably the best days of New Japan since its start in 1972, many Japanese wrestlers left the company. In the summer of 1983, Tiger Mask announced his retirement, followed by a coup within the office which took Inoki, Sakaguchi, and Shinma from their respective positions as president, vice president, and business manager. Inoki and Sakaguchi soon returned to their positions, but Shinma was never welcomed back.

Didn't they basically make a gimmick out of the fact that he was so awkward on the mic by having Titus do all the promo work and then having him just follow it up with "Yeah!"? He's pretty abysmal.

Why Hornswoggle Has Heat With The Rock: Yeah, I met you backstage the night you came back in [Anaheim], when you were revealed as the guest host for WrestleMania, and you thought I was a Make a Wish kid. You tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Did you have a good time tonight buddy?' Then you walked off and you realized it, then you said to Big Show, ‘Hornswoggle thinks I thought he was a Make a Wish kid, and I did think he was.'

From part of a recent interview Hornswoggle had about his recent film and other stuff.

WWE really feels the need to get weird whenever they get some unsolicited social media/mainstream attention. They could have promoted the video and just been like "This is cute. Check it out." Maybe even done a little interview with the dad to get some back story. Not sure what the point of inviting them to make pretty much the same exact video in front of the WWE logo does. Kinda just takes the charm out of it. It's that weird "Old guy who finds out he did something the young folks like and then starts to overdo it until it's not cool anymore" thing. Like when they took the reigns of the Fandangoing craze and drove it into the ground within a week.

Dirtsheets:

He [Rusev] has quickly become a favorite of top management, as both Vince McMahon and Triple H have become big fans of his, especially Vince. He worked his way up with a couple years on the indy scene followed by four years in WWE’s developmental system, and now he’s nicely filled a slot that especially Vince always likes filled on the roster - a big, muscular powerlifter guy. Vince’s attention, which can be scattershot and finicky, has shifted sharply away from Big E. - a focus of his earlier in the year - to Rusev. It’s not out of the question that Rusev will be kept undefeated (at least in terms of being pinned or submitted) until WrestleMania 31, with a very big name babyface opponent in one of the top three or four matches on the show. Agents have learned when in charge of Rusev’s matches to make sure he is kept looking dominant or face the wrath of McMahon afterward.

WWE NXT star Solomon Crowe suffered an injury at last night's NXT live event in Palatka, Florida. The injury came during a match with Crowe and Kalisto vs. The Ascension. Crowe went for a flying head scissors on Viktor, landed hard on the mat, and didn't move. He was helped to the back by trainers and was clutching his leg. Crowe later noted he was taken to a local hospital and posted the following on Instagram:

"Hospitals are scary... I keep hearing chainsaw noises down the hall... #CawCaw"

He later tweeted and revealed a leg injury:

"Chipped my tibia bone in my leg..... Such a great birthday present! Lol #CawCaw"

WWE has allowed several of their talents to appear on podcasts for Steve Austin and Chris Jericho but not Jim Ross. A fan on Twitter asked Ross about Ric Flair possibly appearing on The Ross Report and JR replied with the following: "No. Flair's a wwe guy. WWE hasn't approved any podcast guests for me."

TNA partner Wrestle-1 has become a "vanity project" of The Great Muta and their shows are said to be pretty much useless at this point, according to F4Wonline.com. TNA and Wrestle-1 will be promoting Bound For Glory from Tokyo in October.

Lance Storm Shares His Thoughts On The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Posted By: Caylon Knox on Sep 02, 2014
Source: StormWrestling.com

Former WWE, WCW, and ECW Superstar Lance Storm recently posted a blog on his website at StormWrestling.com regarding the popular new ALS ice bucket challenge that's been going around on social media:

"I've finally been challenged to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (IBC). Well actually I've been "Nominated" twice in fact, by people who apparently don't understand the difference between a Challenge vs. a Nomination. That may be a silly point but considering "Challenge" is right there in the name it drives me nuts that most people seem to get this concept wrong.

Enough picking of nits, there is some serious business afoot that needs to be addressed. Until I was challenged personally I've been content to sit on the side lines biting my tongue happy to stay out of this whole deal. I'm not a fan of beating my head against the wall, and I fear what I am about to say will amount to little more. Like many of you I have clicked on and watched many of the IBC videos. We have done so no doubt because they are very entertaining, and in there lays the rub.

These videos are, for the most part just entertainment. They entertain those who watch, offer a placebo effect of doing good to the person who does them, and generates a whole bunch of money for people who don't suffer from ALS. I know this won't be a popular view, which is why I've stayed out of it as long as I could, but now that I've been called out, I'm going to speak my mind. Anyone who knows me knows I'd rather be right than popular any day, which may explain my rather small circle of friends, so here I go.

There are three basic flaws in this IBC (Or the upcoming Pink-Tober & Mo-Vember campaigns) and it is not until you get to that final third fatal flaw that this whole thing falls apart. This is probably by design because as long as no one looks too deeply everyone can live in denial and just feel good about themselves. Yes I realize that most people involved in this mean well and have good intentions, but a lot of false hope was built on good intentions and when people are suffering from diseases and people are giving away their hard earned money, false hope and good intentions don't really amount to much.

The first flaw is that a lot of people taking up this challenge are just doing creative videos of themselves dumping water on their heads as a vanity project to get attention and pat themselves on the back for all the good they are doing, despite not donating a single penny. The excuse or denial here is "Well at least we are creating awareness, look at the national donations, they are way up". Way to pass the buck. I'm sure you're individual video was the one that made the difference. For those who did in fact donate or are pacified with the "I've created awareness" we then have the second flaw.

What is the ALSA doing with all of this money? The truth is the vast majority of the money you are donating is not going towards research and finding a cure for ALS. The numbers are disputed somewhat. I've heard people claim as low as 7% is going towards research and the ALSA claims that number is closer to 27%. Lets for the sake of convenience and benefit of the doubt, use 25%. Three quarters of the money you donate to help find a cure isn't going where you want it to. Most of it is going towards "Awareness and Education", which could be translated to be read "Advertising and Promotions" to ensure more money gets donated so they can again put only one quarter of it towards what they are claiming it's for in their promotion and advertising. It is a deceitful cycle that keeps a lot of people employed earning great livings while delivering very little of the money donated to the cause they are promoting. To this we offer ourselves the excuse, "Well 25% is better than nothing, that is still a lot of money, and someone has to run these charities" To this I offer you the popular concept of cutting out the middle man. Why are we donating to these Charity groups that only deliver a small percentage of our donations to the research groups? Why not donate directly to the people that are actually doing the work, the people trying to discover treatments and cures?

This is the third and final flaw. The reason we don't donate directly is because then we would discover that the portion of our donation that isn't going towards salaries and advertising, that 25% that we think is actually doing good, is going into the pockets of Big Pharma. Yes the pharmaceutical companies are getting your money. You are giving your money to some of the biggest, richest, most profitable companies in the world. You are helping cover the cost of their research and development programs to allow them to make higher profits. You are not financing new research, this is research they are already doing. This is how they make their money after all. They create new drugs to treat diseases, and when they find a new treatment they patent it and sell it back to you at a huge profit.

Think about that for a minute. Millions upon millions of dollars are being GIVEN to a company to help find a cure or treatment of a disease and if they find a cure/treatment, the people you GAVE that money to will then patent that cure and sell it back to you at a huge profit. Wait...What...profit? I thought we donated to Charity, a non-profit organization. Oh right that's another reason why we don't donate directly to the people doing the research if we did they wouldn't be able to claim it as a non-profit or a charity, and they are creating these drugs with the sole intention of making profits, hundreds or millions of dollars in profits. Yes your good intentioned donations, or at least the part that isn't going towards salaries and advertising, that huge 25% of it, is going towards increasing the profit margins of some of the richest most profitable companies in the world. Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I think I will end my rant here because I don't want to get started on all of the harm Big Pharma is doing to our medical system. If you've been to the doctor in the last decade you've no doubt already discovered that doctors no longer treat patients, they prescribe drugs to them. If you go to a doctor because you are experiencing severe back pain, the first course of action is to prescribe painkillers. A good Dr. if you are lucky enough to find one of the good ones, will also advice you that weight loss and exercise to reduce the strain on your back and strengthen your core would probably solve your problems completely, but unfortunately most people are too lazy for that and would rather just fill their prescriptions.

And with that we've come full circle and found the root of the problem, laziness; one of the original seven deadly sins: Sloth. It's far easier to just dump a bucket of ice water on your head, wear a pink ribbon in October, or grow a silly moustache in November, than it is to look a little closer and find out that there is a huge problem with the system. While I have not looked as closely as I probably should have, thanks to my friend Paul Lazenby, my eyes are at least open. I will not be accepting the Ice Bucket Challenge, because I do not wish to give my money to Big Pharma and since I have no need to stroke my ego by doing a fun video to illustrate what a great guy I am, I don't see the point.

That said I will be looking into finding an ALS related charity that actually helps those suffering from the disease and donate my $100 to them. If that proves too hard a task I will just go out and find someone who is suffering from the disease and give them my $100.

In closing I would just like to clarify that my intent was not to damn those who have taken part in the IBC or other charity fund raisers. Most of you, as I stated earlier, mean well, I'm just suggesting that if you really want to make a difference, good intentions alone don't really accomplish much.

I look forward to your letters and email,
Lance"

The past few years I've usually just had RAW playing in the background while doing other stuff or like earlier this year, whenever 24 was showing. Usually pay attention the most whenever something good or great is showing.

WWE's biggest problem is for some strange reason they've shifted away from using the extra hour of RAW for great stuff (ex. tag team wrestling early on) to being nothing but boring filler stuff or waste of segments.

Jerry Springer intervention with The Bella Twins

http://www.wwe.com/f/wysiwyg/image/2014/09/20140902_EP_LIGHT_springer-bellas_c-home.jpg

The Bella Twins are about to get some family management advice from a third-party.

Jerry Springer has been confirmed to moderate a discussion between the estranged "Total Divas" stars on the season premiere of Monday Night Raw in Baltimore on Sept. 8. The Bellas, as the WWE Universe knows, have been at vicious odds since Nikki turned on her twin sister Brie at SummerSlam. Recent weeks have seen Nikki demean her sister at every turn and go so far as to slander her reputation in "Growing Up Bella" vignettes that exposed Brie's alleged childhood secrets.

Of course, nobody does family dysfunction like Springer, but will he be able to bridge the divide between the warring sisters? Find out Monday at 8/7 CT, only on USA Network.

Any of you guys remember seeing the sign "I Could be home watching Nitro for $9.99" last night on Raw? Well, I guess Vince didn't take too kindly to that and threw the guy out.

Quote: From yahoo.com
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="6"><tbody><tr><td class="alt2" style="border: 1px inset currentColor; border-image: none;"> Early in the night, fans watching Monday Night Raw on USA last night in Des Moines, Iowa likely noticed a fan holding up a sign that read "I could be home watching Nitro ... for $9.99". You could argue that's inflammatory, of course, but it's also a clever play on the WWE Network and the company's chosen method of promoting it.
That fan is now claiming he was kicked out of the arena at some point during the evening and he's been blasting WWE ever since.
From Reddit (sic):"I got threatened with arrest. They tried getting my id for records. Fuck the entire company. They kicked me out because of the sign. It's fine that I got kicked out but trying to bully me. Bring it. ... They came up to me at about 9pm and we're like give me the signs. I was like which one. They took one of the three I had and walked away 2 minutes later came back with a big black guy in a suit and asked me to follow them. Which I didn't told them to fuck off. Which they threatened me with arrest and I laughed in their face. After about 5 minutes of time being assholes I walked to th e area where they sell everything and tried talking to them. All I got was surrounded by dick heads in suits telling me WWE didn't like me and wanted me gone. I refused to leave and begged them to bring the Des Moines police department so I could be taken to jail and they wouldn't. I walked down out on my own free will after being fed up with the bullshit fuck the WWE and their bullying."
Taking derogatory signs from fans is a common practice. This sometimes leading to said fans getting kicked out of the building is also a possibility. That said, it's hard to tell what exactly was so bad about this particular sign. Sure, it's a clever little dig at promotional tactics fans have grown tired of, but the sign itself acts as promotion for the Network.
Why not just let it ride?
In an interesting aside, the Wrestling Observer is reporting this fan was on TV for the entire show. So while the sign may have been taken, apparently he wasn't kicked out.
How do you feel about this, Cagesiders?

This Raw after Wrestlemania 14 has really shitty matches so far. Squash match between LOD and Los Boricuas followed by a squash match between Kurrgan and Chainz of the DOA. Today's match quality is sooooooooo much better than the beloved Attitude Era.

All the characters having direction means a lot more than all the matches being technical masterpieces.

Wish I could rep this post.

Thats what made the era so great. Wasn't the cursing or the edginess per se...it was that everyone had creative direction. You legit didn't know who was going to win the Rumble, or KOTR, etc.

Del Rio managed to get his no compete clause tossed out after legal threats. Supposedly the clause would not hold in court but because wrestlers are more worried about possibly being blacklisted by the WWE, its never been really challenged until now.

Alberto Del Rio appeared with AAA officials and wrestlers for a Ring & Rockstars 3 press conference today at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya to promote a September 14th event at the venue. This will be Del Rio's official AAA return. He will team with La Parka and Myzteziz (the former Sin Cara) to face Texano Jr., Averno and El Hijo del Perro Arguayo.

Del Rio reportedly got the non-compete clause that WWE was trying to enforce thrown out. Here is a translated quote, courtesy of SuperLuchas.net:

"It is unconstitutional that you can not work ... thanks to lawyers and support of AAA, I can fight without any problems."

Dirtsheets:

The Dixie Carter injuries in the table bump, which are two fractures of the back and a fractured rib, as noted on television, were legitimate. She’s lucky she didn’t get a neck injury the way her head snapped on the ground. She may have gotten hurt even though Bully tried to protect her because she’s not trained to take bumps

Regarding Lesnar going forward, in the past Lesnar’s dates and angles were all known months in advance and planned accordingly. Right now, as champion, the situation is different. There is the deal in place as far as money goes but the agreement is WWE can book him as champion for Monday’s and PPVs based on when they feel they want him. Essentially he can work every PPV until Mania if that’s what they want and agree to pay whatever price it is, or they can use him only on a few shows between now and Mania. There is an agreement in place that allows them to increase dates on a pro-rate basis.

It still looks like the two choices are Lesnar over Cena when somebody screws Cena and Cena goes with that person, while Lesnar takes on other faces until Reigns at Mania; or Cena beats Lesnar, Rollins loses to Reigns and then cashes in.

Attorneys for C.M. Punk sent a 22 page letter to WWE over royalties (I believe WWE stopped sending Punk royalty money over their claim of a breach of contract) and use of his likeness, particularly him being featured in the video game (the roster of the game was put together before he quit the promotion even though it was just announced two weeks ago).

After pushing the idea very hard on Monday's Raw and yesterday online, WWE has removed all references of their invitation to NFL player Michael Sam from their website.

There have reportedly been some changes to the WWE's creative team. According to reports, NXT head writer Steven Guerrieri has been named the new lead writer for Smackdown. Ryan Ward, who was the head writer for Smackdown, has been re-assigned as the lead writer for the NXT brand.

PWInsider and the Talk Is TNA podcast both report that there's talk of more TNA office departures in the last week.

Talk Is TNA reports that TNA live events are on hiatus for the foreseeable future as the company is focusing on TV for now. Some of the releases in the last week were reportedly from the live event department.

Some other news and notes includes Charlotte likely gets promoted soon if she looses at NXT Takeover 2, the backstage announcer for NXT recently left the WWE, and WWE's been misjudging how popular Reigns really is these past few weeks with the last RAW episode as them finally noticing.

The Smackdown dude used to be the head writer of NXT before he got promoted. Think he got promoted around the time of NXT Arrival.

Smackdown did get a bit better once he arrived for a while before going back to the usual neglected or RAW recap focused show.

On paper it should be a great move but wouldn't be surprised if the new head guy struggles just like the former one. Only real benefit is at least Smackdown doesn't suffer as much from the constant rewrites like RAW does.

If they go with Cena wins then cash in loss same night, there probably won't be much complaining until Cena beats Rollins in the rematch. The only upside would be the potential for Rollins/Ambrose HIAC for the belt, but Im betting its Rollins/Cena instead.

Its not like the Champion wrestles on every single show anyway. The only difference is they usually are at least there to cut a promo. Paying Lesnar to show up and cut promos (which he sucks at) is stupid since they can use Heyman. Ultimately I don't have a problem with Lesnar as champion, it elevates the belt and PPVs..

Yeah from what I recall its a lot deeper than that. Something about Michaels trying to bury him early on, but Bret kinda being the saving grace, hence why Rock uses the sharpshooter as homage. Then some deal about Shawn disrespecting Rocks mom at a territory some time before the Attitude Era. Apparently they made amends in 2008.

Dirtsheets:

Big Show is reportedly in line for a shot at WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar after John Cena's rematch at this month's Night of Champions pay-per-view.

There was some fear within WWE that Lilian Garcia and Tony Chimel may be cut to make room for cheaper announcers but that's no longer an issue.

After Syfy switched up their TV schedule and listed Smackdown as airing on Thursdays starting in October, there has been a backtrack and the show has been announced as airing on Friday for at least the remainder of the fall season.

It's said that Vince McMahon has little to no oversight on the content added to WWE's YouTube channel while all original content added to the WWE Network has to be approved by Vince. Regarding the WWE Cheap Pops animated show that was pulled last week, there was a running joke in the first and possibly only episode over Stephanie McMahon introducing the various versions of Kane (Malibu Kane, Scuba Kane). There's still no definitive answer on why Cheap Pops was pulled but there's a feeling that it was more of the fact that this WWE.com/YouTube project was funnier than Slam City, which is a WWE Network show.

Brie Bella reportedly said in a media interview for Total Divas this past week that her husband Daniel Bryan will not need a second surgery as expected. Doctors made their decision this past week.

Brie added that Bryan is going through rehab and is slowly regaining strength in his right arm. There's still no word on when he will be back in action but WWE officials are hoping for three months from now.

But seriously, Big Show squashing a bunch of guys who had a future at one point over the span of a few weeks will totally make me believe he's a threat again.

Brock Lesnar defending his title against Big Show.

That'll put butts in the seats...

of people who have already ordered the network and have nothing better to do that Sunday night.

But seriously, Big Show squashing a bunch of guys who had a future at one point over the span of a few weeks will totally make me believe he's a threat again.

But it'll be inside Satan's playground, the satanic structure known to end carers, the HECK IN THE CELL!

You can enjoy Big Show squashing such people as former WWE champion Sheamus, a handicapped match against the man that took John Cena to the limit himself, Ryback (with Axel just there 'cuz Axel), and... I cannot even feign any more interest.

They'll book it like The Big Show could do it, then hype up how "No one has ever handled The Big Show like that!"

Rare video from a 1999 edition of WCW Nitro highlighting Eric Bischoff's history in WCW leading to his return to confront WCW President Ric Flair.

Embarrassing moments? The dude takes any gimmick he is given and makes it work great. Just look at this video from earlier in here:

Cody is the fucking man. Dude takes the gimmick to the max.

I did miss Punk at first, but that's slowly dwindled to the point now that I'm not really bothered by him not being around anymore.

These days, he just seems to spend most of his time complaining about everything on Twitter.

I don't blame him for leaving, but I do miss him. Would mark out big time for his music to hit.

Didn't they already do that during their feud? I'm sure they had Big Show play back some clips of the "Dashing" gimmick while Cody acted like they weren't absolutely brilliant.
